Hardwired Keyboard turned off, inexplicable mode change

Logitech Classic Keyboard 200 USB. Windows 8.1 Licensed. MSO 2013 Licensed.
For the second day, the keyboard suddenly is taken over by some unlisted program. It stops doing data entry and additional keystrokes just bring up completely irrelevant slide in windows, todays asked me if I wanted to Share.
This is a real computer for productive work. Losing the keyboard is NOT PRODUCTIVE.
Task manager doesn't show any strange programs. The keyboard is unusable until I restart the machine.
Windows 8.1 is useless. Can I change the license to Windows 7 and get a reliable system?
Sincerely,
Geoff Timm

Hi,
From the Logitech official website, we can see this model of keyboard isn't compatible with Windows 8.1 operating system. It's not the operating system issue.
I would like to suggest you contact its manufacturer support for help or change another keyboard.
If you insist on rolling back to Windows 7, the only solution is reinstall the operating system using the original disc and license.

  • Keyboard - Turning off Insert mode that deletes added text

Hi, I have an iMac 2.80Ghz dual, 4 GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.2.
Problem is most assuredly because I’m a Windows to Mac convert.
Keyboard (USB aluminum thin plug-in keyboard) is in mode where all characters are deleted in front of the cursor - equal to Windows “insert” key being activated.
Checked the keyboard chart for new Mac users.
Fn and Enter do not make any difference.
Have done this in and outside of num lock being on.
This is really driving me nuts. I do a LOT of typing and when I need to edit something, it’s killing me that everything gets deleted instead of just adding text!
What am I doing wrong? How can I turn off the “insert” mode that is deleting everything instead of adding text where my cursor is pointed?
I’m sure it’s something like there’s a screw loose between my Mac and my chair.
Thanks for help in pointing me in the right direction.

It’s not all software - I discovered this later in the day yesterday.
I had been working in Sun’s Open Office inside of Fusion. Have to work in Fusion with Open Office because use a transcription/time coding software that is Windows-based and haven’t found one that is comparable for Mac other than InqScribe and I don’t much care for InqScribe.
Once I shut down Open Office and reopened it, the insert problem had finally resolved itself.

How do I turn off conversation mode in text messaging. i want my messages in sequential order.

        Hi Catchingup
I can answer this question for you.You can't change the stock messaging application to turn off the conversation mode. You may be able to download a 3rd party application for messaging that could assist you with this feature.

When trying to turn off compatibility mode on my itunes i dont have a compatibility tab after right clicking properties. Can any one help???

    Hi Roger
    Thank you for your reply.
    My original feed is: http://casa-egypt.com/feed/
However, because I modified the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast and nothing changed, I redirected it to another feed and then I deleted this feed.
Is there any way to change the feed in itunes? The only feed I have now is  http://feeds.feedburner.com/CasaEgyptStation
I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
    Thanks is advance.

  • Itunes says to turn off compatibility mode? don't know how, help!!

I just downloaded the itunes 9.2 update this week and since then have been prompted to turn off compatibility mode every time I open itunes. I don't even know what that means or how to turn it off, (never seen this message before). Does anyone know how to turn this mode off? I've searched the progam files and all the options and can't seem to find anything.

There's instructions on how to change compatibility mode settings for iTunes in the following document, although there's a couple of additional quirks you need to watch for.
When you get to *step 8* make sure that no boxes are checked in the compatibility mode tab (not just the compatibility mode box itself ... having any box checked in there can cause a compatibility mode error message).

If none of the checkboxes are checked, and you're still getting a compatibility mode message, that's usually caused by an errant registry setting. For troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see Random Behavior's post in the following thread:

Thank you for all of your answer.

I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
    Reset PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • How to turn off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010

I am having trouble turning off Compatibility Mode on Project 2010 in our organization - Project is installed as part of Office Professional Plus 2010.
When I open Microsoft Project it displays [Compatibility Mode] in the title bar.
When I choose Save As, the type of file is "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)". I can go ahead and change this each time to "Project (*.mpp)" but I would like this to be the default setting for all users.
Under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
I have created a GPO under: User configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Classic Administrative Templates - Microsoft Project 2010 - Project Options - Save, and I have set "Save Microsoft Project files as" "Project
    (*.mpp)".
My only other choices are "Template" or "Project 2000-2003"
This GPO is applying correctly, however - Project continues to open in Compatibility Mode.
In my GPO, should I be seeing a set of different option for "Save Microsoft Project files as"?
Otherwise, am I missing something else in order to turn off Compatibility Mode for Project?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi Paul,
I have tested with a test GPO and these are the results:
When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Enabled": Opens in Compatibility Mode and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is greyed out and set to "Microsoft Project 2007 (*mpp)".
When "Save Microsoft Project files as" state is set to "Disabled": Project opens fine and under File, Options, Save - the "Save files in this format" is not greyed out and I can choose "Project", "Microsoft Project
2007", "Microsoft Project 2000-2003" and "Project Template".
What I believe to be the problem is that "Save Microsoft Project files as" options that are available for me to choose in my GPO do not seem to be aware of Office 2010. The options available are:
    "Project (*.mpp)"
    "Template (*.mpt)"
    "Project 2000-2003 (*.mpp)"
There is no specific mention of "Project 2007", it seems like the GPO recognises Project 2007 as the most recent when we are in fact using Office 2010.
Could this be that my Group Policy Templates are for Office 2007 rather than Office 2010? That would be odd as the policy location itself is located under: User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates/Classic Administrative Templates/Microsoft Project
    2010/Project Options/Save
...so as this specifically mentions Project 2010 I would assume that it is using the correct version.
Another quick note: I needed to Add Template in GPME so that "Classic Administrative Templates" would be available, and the template I added was proj14.adm which I believe is the correct 2010 template.
    Many thanks,
    Van

  • Keyboard turning off

I just purchased the apple wireless keyboard. i use it with my 12" PB and a 23" cinema display. However, when i put the computer to sleep, the keyboard eventually will go into sleep mode itself after a few minutes, and when the computer senses "connection lost" from the keyboard it wakes back up. so i put my computer to sleep, the keyboard turns off after awhile, and then the computer automatically turns back on. it's very annoying as i'm trying to sleep because the screen is so bright. i know i could disable allowing bluetooth devices to wake computer, but that is not what i want to do. has this problem been seen anywhere else? any fixes? thanks.

I have a similar problem with a Mini, whose BT reception seems awfully poor with the new AL keyboards and a "Lost Signal" message will appear every 5 minutes (I already replaced the KB once and no dice).
The solution for not having it turning back on the computer is to check off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" (System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Bluetooth). Note that in doing this you won't be able to hit the keyboard to wake the computer... anyway, I think the real problem isn't that your KB goes to sleep, but that it breaks the wireless link, so the computer complains, your problems does not seem as severe as mine, though.

  • How to turn off flight mode on my iphone 4s?

my iphone 4s is automatically turn on to flight mode and even i turn it off it does not turn off. can any body help me to change this mode?

Go to your settings and make sure that you have turned off "airplane mode" and I'm not too sure what "restrictions" has to do with turrning off airplane mode because I cannot find a button on restrictions for airplane mode in "enable restrictions." If you are having problems making phone calls or turning on bluetooth or wifi, then check to see if you have turned off the services in your settings section under bluetooth and wifi and then go to go to settings to see if your cellular setting is on. Also make sure that you are not in "do not disturb" that may cause nothing to work.

  • My iPhone 3gs backed up to the iCloud just fine, but my new iPhone 5 gives me an error and says to turn off airplane mode or use wi-fi.  It is connected to my wi-fi and airplane mode is off.  It can see the internet just fine.  What gives?

I backed up my iPhone 3GS to iCloud.  Activated my iPhone 5 and restored it from iCloud.  But iPhone 5 will not backup to iCloud, only to my MacBook.  When I try to turn it on on the phone it gives me an error that I must turn on Wi-Fi or turn off Airplane mode.  Wi-Fi is on an the phone is talking to the internet just fine and airplane mode is off, but I still get the error. Is this a known problem?

You mean take the cover off of the iPhone, to look inside?  I'd recommend against it.  Even with warranty expired, you might qualify for an out-of-warranty service, which for 3GS is $149.
Other than that, any repair/service options are going to cost money.  You might want to see if a wireless carrier will let you get a new contract & phone.
Out of curiousity, you're just using at as, basically, an iPod Touch, if there's no cell provider?  Did I understand that correctly?
