Harman kardon makes cracking noises on my M40

Hello, I have M40-101 and my problem is my speakers' cracking and popping noises(when using media player, winamp a little bit high volume). What can I do for that problem? is it hardware or software problem? thanks for your help...
(I also try Start/settings/control panel/soundmax
And set the energy management to no saving. the clickings stopped but crackin and popping not fixed up)

Hi,
you should sett the "Power Mode" for the sound card to "No Power Savings".
Start -> Control Panel -> Sound Max -> Power Management . Change the "Power Mode" from "Normal Power Savings" (default setting) or "High Power Savings" to "No Power Savings". Then it should work!
Bye

I have him for 3 weeks now, and he didn't do it before. It just sounds like normal hard-drive sounds my old computer makes, but in my opinion it's not normal.
    anyone experience with this?

I had that problem too before.
I waited for 2 days and it stopped.
My friends banged it on the floor and it was perfect (exepet for a small dent.)

  • IPhone home button makes cracking noise

Recently I got my iPhone replaced at an apple store so I'm assuming the phone is refurbished. The problem is when I touch the home button it makes a light cracking noise. It doesn't make it when I press it down, only when I tap it. Will the problem persist? I don't want to have to go back to the Genius Bar as it involves quite a long journey.

I had the same problem. Read elsewhere that a tech at the Genius Bar fixed it in 1 or 2 minutes. So I thought about what they might have done, whiat was probably causing it, and fixed it myself:
Fixed mine this way: Turn the phone sideways and flick the home button with your finger over and over. (Hold your pointing finger with your thumb, then let go and let the fingernail *hit* the button.) Start lightly. Inrease the power of the flicks until the sound disappears. Rotate the phone when doing it if needed.
I think this worked because something was stuck behind the button, and flicking either crushed or dislodged the tiny piece of grit.

  • Everytime my phone vibrates it makes this loud noise from inside that sounds like a weird cracking noise or something help!!

Okay so I noticed a week or two ago that there was something lose on the inside of my iPhone 5s and ever since then when my phone vibrates sometimes there is this weird noise. It sounds almost like a cracking noise from the inside or a weird electrical noise. I think something is wrong with the vibrating part. Does anyone know if this is fixable or what it is?

  • Harman-kardon speakers and various loud noises( mac mini)

My Harman-Kardon ball speakers, which have served me well from my old Cube days, are going loopy.
They have been happily USB connected to my 17" studio display (and powered from it) Recently, I've been hearing clicking noises, which can turn to a very loud 'rushing' sound if the computer has been active for more than an hour. I know some have had software issues with their sound systems due to 10.4 updates, but none reported very loud sounds. I came home yesterday to what sounded like an apartment fire alarm, it was that loud, but it was only my 'sleeping' computer. The noise ended when I pulled out the USB.
Could it be software? I don't want to buy new speakers if it might be. Or, time for knew speakers?-- if so, any advice? Happy New Year. Kevin

While it may not be all that helpful, I had some issues with an Altec lansing speaker set on my G5, where background noise was abnormally high almost all the time, and from time to time there would be rushing noises which grew very loud. It turned out to be a faulty USB hub, even though the speakers were not USB connected.
To troubleshoot your system, I would disconnect everything external bar the basic essentials, including any hubs or other devices, even the keyboard and mouse, and test the system that way. It would not be expected for software or MacOS itself to cause the sort of effects you describe.

  • Harman Kardon BT noise problem.

i need to know if my HARKAR BT headphones have a problem. 1 or 2 second right after playing any sound or music in the headphones in wireless mode you can hear an audible noise of interference in the right speaker. I want to know if this is a known and general problem in bluethooth headphones, and if anyone have the same issue.
    Thanks!

My Harman Kardon BT Headphones keep cutting out intermittently.  I found that the music would stop streaming to the headphone but it would continue playing on the phone.  To get the music back I had to keep pressing the play button on both my iphone and headphone and it would eventually come back.  Is it an issue with the 5 or is it my new headphones?
Had issues too. RESET my Jawbone Icon per online PDF and removed from iPhone and re paired no problem now.

  • Harman Kardon USB Soundsticks (1st Gen) Screeching/Static

After upgrading to 10.6/10.6.1, I now get periodic, short screeches/static on my USB Harman Kardon Soundsticks (the USB-only version), regardless of the source of sound. So playing music is definitely now intolerable.
Anyone else experiencing USB sound related issues?
This is the last straw for me in using USB-based speakers as I've they always "disconnected" and were no longer accessible when performing large file transfers with USB drives. Only a restart would make them accessible again. With this new issue in Snow Leopard, I'm ditching them for mini-plug based speakers.

Don't give up +so fast+. I'm trying to find a way to lower the USB SoundSticks' volume for years now without luck. But other than that, they still work fine with 10.6.1 over here!
I know of the static noise problem, but I only had that years ago with 10.3 and/or 10.4 and it was caused by my USB hub. Connecting them directly to my Mac worked fine and since using the following setup I never had a problem:
MacBook Pro (had several models and PowerBooks before) - Cinema Display - Belkin USB hub - SoundSticks
Yes, there's 2 hubs involved and it works fine. I use the somewhat older 30" Cinema Display and this Belkin hub: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=158910

  • Harman Kardon SoundSticks Wireless bluetooth on Yosemite problem

    Hi there,
Since upgraded to Yosemite, I have problems with re-connecting my Harman Kardon SoundSticks Wireless (via bluetooth) to MacBook Pro (retina 15" late 2013). Every time when that happen, I need to restart the speakers to make them connect again.
Is there some solution for this problem?
    Cheers!

I’m having the exact same problem but with the Harman Kardon Esquire Mini, also on the Macbook Pro, same year as yours. It started when I still had Mountain Lion iOS. They first said it was a hardware problem then installed Yosemite as the fix. It did not fix it. My Mac will not pair with hubby's JBL bluetooth speaker either. And the HK speaker works fine with all our other devices.

    Hi-
The system Preferences will show the output as headphones/built-in audio. You do have the Sound Sticks plugged into the audio port?
On one of the speakers, there are two chrome plates on either side of the port at the bottom of the speaker- one has a plus, one a minus. By touching one, or the other, you can raise, or lower the volume. make sure that you have the volume turned up, by touching the plus.

  • Retina Pro Screen Making Cracking Noises

So i used to have a pretty heavy plastic case that snaps on to my macbook pro unibody to protect it, however i took it off and instead replaced it with a carbon sticker just to prevent scratches. But now ever since i took off the plastic snap on case (about a month ago) my screen has made random cracking noises just sitting there on the table after a while of use. Also when i move the screen back and forth or open the display from closed, it makes sort of a creaking noise and sometimes just little cracking noises. Could the hinges or screws be loose? I'm worried i'll take it in and they won't be able to hear it since it's not exactly reproducible or loud in a noisy store.

I'm not at all experienced with getting inside a computer so I don't think I'll try touching it myself but it's good to learn what could be making the noise.
I can understand the reluctance of opening the MBP up because I had the same inhibitions when I tried it the first time.  To take off the bottom panel is not difficult.  There are 10 screws (probably of two lengths which you should keep a track of) requiring a #00 Phillips diver.  When all the screws are out, there may be a snap fitting in middle of the panel requiring you to 'pop' the panel off.
If you look in your users manual, you will find instructions for removing the panel.  In essence, this mewans that Apple thinks that the user can perform this operation.
    Ciao.

  • Making knuckle cracking noises after repair, Apple Store said it's "normal"

I sent my MacBook Air mid 2011, the first time, to an Apple Store because it failed Verify Disk and was unable to re-install OS X (Repair No.: R88048332). When I got it back and found strange knuckle cracking noises whenever I held it and moved around.  I further found a few screws on the lower case were not tightened. And with a little pressure with my thumb and pointer finger, I could see the lower case near the touch pad went closer to the upper case.  When I held the MBA with my right hand near the hinge and the power on key, I could hear clearly multiple knuckle cracking noises.  I went back to the Apple Store, and the technician said it was normal because it's re-opened after factory assembly.  Eventually they re-screwed the lower case but no improvement was made.
Has the case been bended or damaged?  It's still under AppleCare so what can I do?

Yes, it's an Apple Store in Sydney, Australia.
I brought the MBA to another Apple Store and a guy there found the loudspeaker on the left side could not be aligned properly and there were other things inside to be re-aligned.  He also pointed out a dented corner on the keyboard side upper-left corner (not the lower side) and a few punched edges near the ports on both side and a number of scratch marks on the top (Apple Logo) and the bottom.  They were all new and not found when I took the MBA to the Genius Bar two days ago.  (Before giving the MBA to Apple Store, there was no scratches or damage as inspected on the spot.)
I thought my MBA had been dropped to a hardground at the first repair service in the Apple Store. I could not think of anything otherwise.
b.t.w. It was initially a non-recoverable Verify Disk problem as reported by the Disk Utility 10.8.3 and the SSD could not re-install OS X either. That's the reason of my first visit to Apple Store.  When I took it back, I found that I could not make the Recovery Disk USB and by Option restart, I found no Recovery Volume. That's why I took the MBA back to the Apple Store and asked them to re-install OS X properly.  Over there, I also showed them the click and crack noise.  The tecnician said he was very sure that my Time Machine backup was corrupted and thus during the restoration, the corrupted TM backup erased the Recovery Volume!  (I don't believe it.) I took out the TM backup external HDD and immediately inspected it with Disk Utility, there was no problem.  And later I restored the same TM backup to the MBA with no problem, and the Recovery Volume was there.  I don't know why Apple Store opened the MBA's case when it was only an OS issue.  and I cannot understand why a software issue will make my MBA's alumnium case clicks and cracks forever with dents and scratches everywhere!
