Has a fix developed for Firefox 36 which BROKE Yahoo Toolbar in Windows 7 & 8 while Firefox 37 broke Yahoo Toolbar for Linux ?

Yahoo Toolbar (added from Firefox Add-ons) stopped working when I updated to Firefox 36 on both my Windows 7 & 8 computers so I RE-Installed Firefox 35 via a 3rd party download site. I didn't have the same problem on My Linux Computers until today when My Linux Computer UPDATED to Firefox 37. Now the only link which will show up on the Yahoo Toolbar is my "Mail" link.
It seems (based upon my research) that Mozilla is trying to sweep this screw-up under the carpet by blaming Yahoo, and yet they continue to display the link/add-on in their "Add-on Repository" ! Maybe Mozilla need to find a better Janitor cause the current one can't seem to See or even Smell the manure they're shoveling !
Don't get me wrong. I've been using Firefox & Yahoo Toolbar for 8+ years and been a fan of both, but I ditched Micro$oft Window$ because of Compatibility Issues within their own Software Programs. I would like to continue to use Firefox and Yahoo toolbar, But if they can't manage to work together and find a solution I WILL solve the problem by "Ditching Them Both" in favor of another provider and take all my current tech customers with me when I do. FYI, they number in the thousands.

Perhaps you do notice the "'''By [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/yahoo/ Yahoo!]'''" under the Yahoo Toolbar extension name.
It may not be obvious to everybody at first but the addons.mozilla.org is a hosting site for Extensions and also Themes (both image and complete), dictionaries, search engines etc.
The vast majority of Extensions being hosted on addons.mozilla.org are by a third-party author unless it says a author like [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/mozilla/ Mozilla] or [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/mozilla-labs5133025/ Mozilla Labs].
Moderators here (unless they have Administrator tag also) are users like yourself who have been entrusted with moderator abilities.
No need to be rude as I certainly was not. Also mild rudeness does not get more attention in getting help but more likely to be ignored as volunteers spend whatever time they have to help others instead,

  • Download SQL Developer for Linux -- does it point to the Win version?

    Hi everyone,
is it possible that the software behind the Linux version is the windows version instead?
    --> Oracle SQL Developer 1.0, patch 1 (1.0.0.15.27)
    --> --> http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/htdocs/sqllic.html?http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper-1527-no-jre.zip
    Best regards Georg

There are really just 3 different downloads - one for Windows that is bundled with the jre and tools.jar, another that is specific to Mac and the third is the unbundled release. The unbundled is for Windows users that already have a jdk 1.5 or for Linux users (who need to have or get a jdk 1.5). After initial feedback that it was difficult to decide which to select, we decided to list specific to your platform, even though that means a duplicate link behind the scenes.

  • Why is skype for web not being developed for linux?

i tried to get the skype extention for chrome on linux. and well i got that icon error. so i tried to work arround the error and was seccessful in getting the plugin installed. but the actual skype for web aplication doesn't seem to want to utilize the skype calling extention even after using a user agent to trick the skype for web page into thinking i am using chrome on windows. i end up hacing to install the windows plugin. and the skype for web page doesn't like to use the Skype Calling extention.but anyway  iwanted to know why the skype for web plugin is not being compiled for linux. i see no reason why someone couldn't just compile the plugin for linux with the already existing code. i would be willing to volunteer to compile the plugin and release the plugin for linux.

Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
Skype for Web is currently a Beta version with support for calling via the plugin being limited to popular browsers on Windows and Mac. Unfortunately supporting calling on Chrome for Linux requires a bit more than simply recompiling the plugin. Going forward we are looking to add more features and allow calling on even more platforms, potentially even Linux.

  • Has Oracle webpart developed for SPS 2003?

Hello , I don't know exactly if this is the correct forum to raise my question.
We have an application designed with Oracle Client 6i, we also have a web portal developed in Sharepoint portal Server (SPS).
We know that SPS allows to include webparts to run client / server applications inside the portal
I need to know if oracle has developed something that implements these webparts with sharepoint of Microsoft.
I hope you can help me or suggest me another place where I could to look for
    Thanks.

    @skvaish1
I downloaded this "Oracle9i Database (64-bit) Release 2 (9.2.0.2.1) for Microsoft Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 CD 1 of 2" from EDelivery and it is not working on Windows 2003 64bit even though as description states it should. I get error message +"The image file C:\CD1\setup.exe is valid, but is for machine type other then current machine"+

  • Where is the SQL Developer download for Linux

Can some one help provide a URL link to download the SQL Developer for Linux? The official link on the Oracle Website is pointing the Windows zip instead.
    Many thanks!

The link is correct. The files are the same for linux and windows when the jre is not bundled.

  • Latest flashplayer package for Linux tar.gz appears to be defective.

Yeah, I know those are strong words, so here's the story:
In the past, the flashplayer package for tar.gz, the only version of flashplayer i know that installs in all Linux distros, has always unzipped into a directory containing two files, one of which is a script.   You CD to the directory, run the script, and flashplayer installs.
Well, suddenly , there is no directory, and no script, just a single library file named flashplayer.so
The installation instructions have not changed, however:
    "Installation instructions for tar.gz
Click the download link to begin installation. A dialog box will appear                       asking you where to save the file.
Save the .tar.gz file to your desktop and wait for the file to download                       completely.
Unpackage the file. A directory called install_flash_player_10_linux will be created.
In terminal, navigate to this directory and type ./flashplayer-installer                       to run the installer. Click Enter. The installer will instruct                       you to shut down your browser(s).
Once the installation is complete, the plug-in will be installed in your Mozilla browser. To verify, launch Mozilla and choose Help > About Plug-ins from the browser menu."
The directory is mentioned, and so is the script, but those things aren't in the file anymore.  So yeah, something's seriously messed up, and has been for weeks.  I'm wondering if someone can maybe tell me if there's a place on the web where I can find the previous version.

11.2.202.346 was and is the last version to be developed for Linux. There won't be any more.

  • Flash for linux .tar.gz package is still the old 346 version

i trid to upgrade my flash, so i download the .tar.gz package from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ , after the file was installed, i loaded a flash video in firefox, and found the version is  11.2.202.346. i also downloaded the rpm package, the version is 356.
i think the .tar.gz package should also be updated and i suggest that the version should be containded in the file name so that it is easy to distinguish.

  • Desktop software for Linux

Is there any prospect of desktop software being developed for linux? I don't use Windows.

The nearest I've found is Barry. It's a Linux app which should allow you to backup, restore, charge, and use as a modem.
It would be great if RIM would open up the Blackberry specs if they're not going to make a Linux client.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • DST fix for JDK 5 - conflicting info as to which version has the fix?

It seems that there are some conflicting information on which version of JDK 5 has the DST fix.
as per this link, http://java.sun.com/javase/tzupdater_README.html, it states 5.0_7 has the fix
The US2007DST data changes were incorporated into the following releases: 1.3.1_18, 1.4.2_11, 5.0u7.
This link also from Sun , http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/Intl/USDST/, indicates that it is 5.0_6 or later.
    Thanks
Can someone from Sun publish a definite statement as to which version has the fix ?

    Thanks for the information.
    1) It is in both places,  program files and program files (x86)
    2) But.... the desktop icon to elements points to the (x86) version.
    3) I was not asked to put any other discs in, i will now go and install them, thanks for the advice.  I was wondering why there were so many discs, i assumed it was mac stuff.
    thanks for the feedback.

  • I would like to fix a bug, but I need to know the leading developer for Firefox sync. I need verification of a Mozilla dev for a class project prerequisite.

I found bug 859889 on Bugzilla, I would like to develop a patch for it. In my software development class, my professor asked us to get the permission of a leading developer for our project proposal. If you can direct me to such a developer, that would be great. The dev in question should also have access to Firefox Android's code base, as to apply the patch if completed and accepted.
The url to the bugzilla page is "https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=859889".

I guess that is you that has already posted [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=859889#c1 Bug 859889#c1]
Presumably you already have the C++ and other skills to tackle this. I suggest you look at and follow links from

    Does that help ?
