Has Adobe Updater ever worked properly?

I'm not trying to dump on Adobe here, but Updater, unlike every other Adobe product I use on a daily basis, has never successfully updated anything on my computer. It shows up like an unwanted guest, squats on my monitor, and then does absolutely nothing for hours, if I allow it. All my other Adobe apps integrate with my system and work seamlessly; not Updater. I can go to the Adobe site and download the updates I need, but it would be nice to have something do it automatically. The current incarnation can't seem to manage the job(I'm trying to avoid calling it names here). Is there anything I can do to enable Updater to reach its full potential? I have experienced this same issue on both my G5 PowerPC, running OSX 10.5.8, and on a new Intel iMac running 10.6.3.

Hi LorinK - a woefully slow machine can be caused by so many things. Have you considered it could be a virus, spyware or malware, all of these usually lead to 'slower' machines. Are there any programs you normally use that are acting funny, just not right? Are you talking about the spinning disk or the spinning beach ball?
As far as memory goes, 512mb of memory on any quality computer is almost unheard of. If you look around the forum, everyone that is happy with their machine have upgraded the memory by 1 or 2gigs. But adding more memory will not cure an ailing machine, it could possibly make you iMac seem faster when actually your just putting a 'larger intake and out take manifold' to pass information through.
I would have your iMac checked out. If I were a betting person, and with the amount of 'slowness' you seem to be describing, I would bet you have a hardware problem... Good luck, Rick

Has Live Update EVER worked? Trying to download "AMD Chipset Drivers" 970A-G46

I just installed W8 clean, added 8.1, all the updates, and installed Live Update fresh to see if i actually works this time around.
I see that apparently it still is a piece of crap software.
Never have I found this program to take less than several hours / entire day to download something that I allegedly need. It will tell me my BIOS is up to date yet when I go to the MB page and compare the version from BIOS and Live Update, there IS a newer version there (heck it is up to 2.6 and I had a v 1.0B using Windows 7). Even after flashing with USB to 2.6, LU5 is still showing my BIOS version as 1.B0.
I just wound up manually downloading the internet, realtek audio, and usb drivers then installing them myself.
The only file that is missing from the MB page is what Live Update is telling me as "Not Installed": MB Driver /AMD Chipset Drivers/(current version) Not Installed/(online version) 13.101.0.0
I have been waiting at least 30 minutes downloading this file through LU5 which is only at 27%.
Is this even needed? Is the MB page THE DEFINITIVE page for downloads and should I just uninstall LU?

So you didn't get a disk with your motherboard?
Yes, MSI will provide drivers for your motherboard off of their website, or with the disk that came with your motherboard. You had mentioned the newest drivers...the newest drivers will always come from the chip manufacture...ie AMD, Intel, Nvidia, etc.
AMD no longer has a specified chipset driver to the best of my knowledge. They have Catalyst...it pretty much takes care of everything.

Will dynamic global hostnames ever work properly again?

AEBS firmware 7.4.1 broke dynamic dns updating. Any attempt to set it up now simply results in TSIG errors.
7.4.2 didn't fix it.
Has anyone gotten signed dynamic DNS updates working on recent firmware revs of the AEBS?

I understand your discontent. I can assure you that all software updates developed by the manufacturer are intended to make your phone work better. Since you have done a Factory Reset and your phone continues to experience performance issues after you installed your applications, I recommend running your phone in Safe Mode for a while to ensure that no third party application conflicts exist. If your phone works properly in Safe Mode then a third party application conflict is causing your phone to malfunction and the conflicting application must be identified and removed from your phone.
There is no easy way to identify a conflicting 3rd party application, the only way is to remove all applications and add one by one and test until the conflicting app is identified and then removed for good.

It shouldn't be an issue. Ultimately, Presenter doesn't care what language the content or audio is in, it will deliver it just the same. The only issue I could see causing problems would be the player skin. It has Spanish lables, but they only show on a computer with the OS set to Spanish. If you want the student to view both and English and a Spanish version on the same computer, you may need to have two versions of the language.xml file where you have one that has the desired English lables in the "en" section and one where it has the desired Spanish labels in the "en" section. You would then swap these files in and out of the folder located at,C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Presenter\Themes , as you need to publish an English or Spanish presentation.

Adobe Updater not working for CS4

I have installed CS4 Master Collection on a new Windows 7 PC and it is working, but Adobe Updater isn't working properly. It first installed a few updates that were correct, but now it can't find the remaining updates (which I know exist).
The message is "Please note that some updates for the following products cannot be determined at this time," and then it lists most of the products.
I know that CS4 isn't supported any more, but I would have expected Adobe Updater to at least apply the remaining available patches.
I found another thread where it suggested the updates shown depend on the system clock. (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/913379). I set it to earlier and it briefly found the updates, but it seems to cause Adobe Updater to become unstable, so that hasn't worked for me. There was a suggestion that the Adobe certificate may be out of date (thus the System Clock fix works for some), perhaps Adobe needs to update its certificates?
How can I get Adobe Updater to apply remaining patches? Thanks.

Will my Incredible ever work properly again?

I have devoted endless time and energy to trying to get my phone to work since the system updates started appearing. I should note that I am not a techie, I don't enjoy fiddling with electronics, and I can't follow many of the fixes that people have posted. I just want my phone to work as reliably as it used to! The issues I have experienced have been well documented in every discussion group I have visited. Some -- but not all of these included: false warnings about memory shortages, phone turning off, voice searches not working while in the car, gmail not working on phone. When I tried deleting music and pictures and then restarting the phone, I got stuck in one of those endless "DROID!" startup loops. I made an emergency trip to a Verizon store, and the salesman said that my phone had never received the update properly -- thus the repeated smaller update messages -- and a factory reset would fix that issue. He did get the update to install; but, of course, I then had to reinstall all my apps, preferences, etc. Since then, gmail and voice searches are working again, but I continue to have strange and frustrating problems. The radio shuts off at random, which it never used to. For about a week, even the phone qua phone would not work. I could not dial a number by touching a contact or a listing in my call record. I had to go into View contact and select the number I wanted. That's what I had to do on my old "stupid" phone. Three days ago, without any intervention, the phone started to behave normally again. But then about 36 hours ago all my pictures and music vanished from the phone without a trace. WHAT's NEXT?! This phone is supposed to make my life easier; instead it has became an anxiety-provoking pain. FYI: I have software number 4.08.605.2 and Android Version 2.3.4

Adobe Updater not working for PSE8

I installed PSE 8 on my laptop and every time I click on "Updates" I get the following error message:
"The update server is not responding, which means it might be offlie at the moment, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."
I also have Adobe Reader 9 installed on the same computer and the update function works fine for it.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and Norton Internet Security.
I have the same OS and Norton on my desktop computer with PSE 7 and the update function in it works fine.

Check the workaround mentioned in the second post on the below thread. That may solve your problem. Let us know.

WAP4410N - Will these ever work properly?

I have owned one of these for about 2 years now, and have sold many of these to clients. Luckily, none of them get used too much as they require constant rebooting, and it would appear as though all versions of the firmware are unreliable. Some simply don't work, other work for a day or two at a time between reboots.
Does anyone have a solution to getting these to work properly? When I say properly, I mean, you turn it on, configure it and then use it. That's it. No rebooting, not even once a year.
Anyone?

I have 3 x WAP4410N and had lots of issues. Now they are stable. I think it's the settings below in BOLD that count.
But I did first reset the unit to factory settings; upgrade firmware; restart; and then enter all settings MANUALLY. All as per Cisco instructions. Do not just install the fw over the old fw; and do not import your settings. But I don't think any of this made any difference, but do it anyway for sure.
Here is my config. Anything not mentioned has not been enabled. Settings in BOLD are important I think - and are settings folks have mentioned that have solved issues for them. YMMV.

Adobe Updater not working and/or removing the Icon from a MacBook Pro?

I purchased CS5 -Design standard for my MacBook Pro a few years ago and have never had a problem until recently. I put a new hard drive into my laptop and reinstalled everything. CS5 programs run fine when I'm using them. Now all of a sudden, I'm getting an icon on my top MAC menu bar from Adobe Updater saying I need to update all of my programs. It will not go away. I follow all the steps, it completes the download then says there are errors and the downloads cannot be completed, to close and try again. I've done this 5 times over 2 weeks with no luck. If there are updates I'd really like to install them or just shut the updater down so that I can't see the icon on my menu bar.
It does not give me an option to enter serial numbers from the CS5 I purchased or to just close the thing and move on with my life. What do I do? All this is running on a MacBook Pro, CS5-Design standard.

I don't think my iMac has ever worked properly

Since I purchased my iMac over a year ago, it has never been as fast as it should be. I often get a spinning disk as the machine tries to do common tasks like loading iPhoto (I have alibrary of about 5000 images - not as large as many of my friends have on slower machines).
I thought it was a hard drive issue and had the drive replaced a few months ago, but the problems persist. The drive has over 70GB of free space, so that is not the issue. Could it be the logic board?
The computer works, but is just frustratingly slow sometimes with this spinning disk...
Any ideas?

ADF Faces EA15: table update not working properly after dialog return event

Hi,
in my application I have a table with read-only records and an edit button for each row.
The button triggers a dialog where one field of of the record can be edited.
The record is a bean which is put into processScope.
After accepting the change in the dialog the bean makes an update in the database changing the order of the records in the table on the launching page.
The return event triggers a re-rendering of the launching page (which I can see from the output of a phase listener) and the table model gets updated but the table output is not updated visually.
However, if I call the dialog on another record I don't get the record I see in the table but instead I get the record which I'd expected if the table re-rendered properly.
Do I have to trigger any kind of event on the table now so that the framework knows that a change has taken place and that the table has to be re-rendered? There is no difference whether I use PPR or not. It used to work in EA14.

In EA14, the return from the dialog required a full-page refresh (whether the dialog was launched with PPR or not didn't matter). In EA15, it's done with PPR if possible. This avoids the flash (and re-scrolling, etc.), but means you do need to tell us what's going to get changed because of the return. You can use partialTriggers on the table with the "id" of the button to make this happen.

Adobe Flash Not Working Properly

The following problem applies to both I.E. and Firefox. Also, I am updated to the latest version of Flash: 11.4.402.278. Keep in mind that I have tried everything that I could find concerning this problem. Also, I am using Windows XP SP3 32bit.
I used to be able to watch video from any website that had videos to watch but recently I was not able to watch any, not even on YouTube. However, after uninstalling and reinstalling Flash I can now watch a few of the YouTube videos and nothing from any other web site. On YouTube, sometimes it works better if I disable Flash. However, when a note appears saying I need Flash, and I Re-enable Flash, it still won’t work. No notice saying anything, it simply will not play the video.
Also, if you are familiar with NetFlix, on their web site, when you hold your mouse pointer over a video title a popup is supposed to appear telling you about the video. That stopped working too. It's all screwed up and I don't know what happened.
Also, when I finish reinstalling Flash (which I have done a few times lately (after uninstalling and carefully following the instructions in the Uninstall Video)) and I am automatically taken to the Adobe page which tells me I have successfully installed Flash, I never get the little animation. It says Flash is properly installed but I never get the animation to show it is properly installed.
Also, on other sites that have test animation to show that Flash is installed and working, their animations never appear either. The problem is also evident when trying to use the websites that test my internet speed. I no longer get the applet or interface on the upload and download test sites.

No, there is no animation.
As stated on my original post, I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than
once. Each time Adobe says I have successfully installed Flash but there
is never an animation on either the Adobe site or anyother site.
Sometimes when attempting to watch a YouTube Video, like the Scorpions
performing Drive by the Cars (awesome acoustical version) it will not play
unless I disable Flash. Then trying to play a different video it says I
need flash so I re-enable flash and it doesn't work. In case you are
wondering, the video that says I need flash did not work before I disabled
flash and it did not work after re-enabling flash.
Before writing this reply I completely uninstalled flash following the
instructions on Adobe site and then reinstalled flash and it's the same as
usual. Adobe says it's installed but no animation and still have the same
problems with web videos.
This all started a couple weeks ago. Before that I had not problem.
