Has anyone been able to get android devices to work with OS X Server? (calendar collaboration and mail)

I am looking at switching a SB from Exchange to OS X server. The SB currently uses android phones with exchange (Mail, Calander and Contacts). Is there a what to do the same in OS X Server without switching the phones to iPhone?

That's too bad because I just want to play around
with Linux. Guess I'll install it on my Windows box
instead.
As mentioned by ajr650, another option is to try the virtualization route with Parallels. There are threads on the Parallels Desktop for Mac support forum that describe how to get various flavors of Linux up and running in a Parallels VM - including some pre-made turnkey images that various users have created (check out this thread there).
Nice thing, too, is if you decide you don't like it or want to start over, just trash the file that represents the virtual hard disk and you've got your space back.

  • Has anyone been able to get VPN over 3G working

I am just wondering, if anyone has VPN over 3G working with iPad. It works a treat with the iphone4, just not iPad. All settings are the same for both devices, however iPad says connecting, authenticating, and disconnecting. Credentials have been checked numerous times, as have all other fields. iPad just doesn't want to play the game.

    Works "fine" here:
    - iPad (1) 3G
    - 3G On
    - WiFi Off
    - Vodafone Portugal
    - PPTP VPN
    - No cable to neither PC nor charger
    - Always connects 1st try
    - I turn VPN on, lock the screen, and if I unlock in under 15s it will be still ON; if after 15s, then it will have dropped
    - If, on the other hand, I have the charger connected, I have tested with more than 2 mins after locking it and it's still on.
As for your problem connecting, try using the same card on your iPad as you use on your phone to test, seeing that the settings are all the same and it works fine on iPhone and not on iPad.

  • Has anyone been able to make an APC Biopod work with OS X?

    Hello All!
With the new fingerprint reader now part of the iPhone 5S, I remembered that I purchased, about 10 years ago, an APC Biopod.
This is a neat fingerprint reader, connected by USB, that worked very well under Windows XP.
Has anyone ever succeeded in connecting one of these to OS X? Or would you have a suggestion for a driver / app that might support this?
    Thanks!

    Hello Fellow iBook Authors!
Today I received the same error that you all have been discussing.  I tried selecting the DRM
and this did not work for me, though I'm glad it did for some.  Here's what I did as a work-around. . .
Since iBooks Author did not have a problem with Videos, I simply used one of my video programs, ScreenFlow to turn the audio into a video file m4v.  I added an image and extended the length or timing of the image to span the length of the audio file.  Then exported as an .mov.  I then opened QuickTime and opened the file and exported the file to iTunes.
You can use iMovie, Camtasia or any other progam that will allow you to export the audio as a movie file.  Does this make sense?  I hope this helps, at least in the short-term.

  • Has anyone been able to get a repair/proper fix from Apple for their LCD?

The more I use my Macbook Pro while traveling the more i notice the 'sparkly/grainy' display. Compared to the White/Black Macbook it is obviously noticable what i'm talking about - especially on white backgrounds. My question is - has anyone been able to get a proper repair/fix for this common problem for the Core 2 Duo 15" Macbook Pro's?
I normally have my Macbook Pro connected to an external display but when i do take it along when I travel it stands out more and more every time.
Is Apple going to issue a 'recall/repair' for their customers who bought their Macbook Pro's? What am I to do here, When i need to use my laptop when I travel I can't take the annoyance of using this LCD screen.

Yes, I can CLEARLY see it, it's like wearing glasses that are filthy. The laptop is one week old and I could see it from after the 802.11n upgrade. This is not all that zoomed, really. To me it looks like a video memory problem, not a LCD problem. The problem is the same if I connect an external DELL monitor. Also very visible there. Also very visible if I change resolutions or number of colours. The main reason I believe it's a video memory thing is that when I move a window, it changes from white to, well... yellow and red. Check out: http://niklas.saers.com/MBP/MG8665.jpg That is why I am unsure if this is the kind of grain you are talking about. Can you confirm that this is the kind of problem you guys are seeing?
    PS, I use a Canon 20D with a 100mm f/2.8 macro lens.

  • Has anyone been able to get a mouse scroll wheel to work with a scrolling text box in authorware?

Has anyone been able to get a scroll wheel to work with a
scrolling text box in authorware? Is there any way to attach the
hardware of a scroll wheel to a scrolling text in a piece? Sure
would make things easier for the reader.

I doubt it. Maybe using the WinCtrls.u32? But after a few
    tries years
ago (before the WinCtrols.u32), I'd pretty much given up.

  • Has anyone been able to get a canon mp 780 to scan in lion

Has anyone been able to get a canon mp 780 to scan in lion. I have tried everything and nothing works.
Image capture won`t recognize my printer either.

People who need to SCAN & PRINT without a compatible driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:
Click the Apple menu ( ), and then click System Preferences .
    Click Print & Scan ( ).
Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .
Click Show Details . The details of the scan display, including options to modify scan settings such as output type.Figure 2: Example of the Show Details scanning screen
Change any settings as necessary, and then click Scan .
The next window looks like this:
    Hope this helps

  • Has anyone been able to get a CR10 .RPT published into CR9?

    Post Author: waynemc

    Hi,
I've got Crystal Reports Full Developer V10 and have to generate reports for a Crystal Enterprise V9 system.
When I use the Publishing Wizard that comes with Crystal Enterprise V9 it doesn't process my V10 .RPT file.  The final dialog box has the lame error message "The wizard has finished publishing.  However some objects failed to publish properly" i.e. my .RPT file.  No error details are shown.
I can't believe such a great product would not have compatibility between two close versions.  The CR V10 Developer doesn't have a "Save As ..." with the choice of V9 .RPT or V10 .RPT after all!
Has anyone had success with a similar scenario between versions 9 and 10?
    Many thanks.

Actually, I found out that you can open an 11 report in 9, but not anything below 9.  Not sure about the publishing then.  But.....Not sure what you mean about embedding the license key.  We have customers with their own copy of Crystal that are able to edit our reports using their version....

  • Has anyone been able to get a book's internal bookmark hyperlinks working when exporting the book as PDF?

When a PDF-version of a book is viewed within Preview, bookmark hyperlinks do not work, but they do work on iPad.
In this support page, Apple states that hyperlinks should work.
Has anyone got a successful workaround that doesn't involve adding hyperlinks, one by one, via Preview?
    Cheers,
    Tim

    Hi Ken.
By "Preview", I refer to the Apple Preview app on my iMac; 'Preview' displays the PDF but the hyperlinks within the PDF will not link through to their respective pages throughout the book. Each hyperlink displays underlines, and the 'hyperlink' mouse icon displays when hovering over a hyperlink. It's just that the links won't work. There are hundreds of bookmarks, so adding these manually from within 'Preview' is not a viable option.
    Any thoughts?
    Tim

  • Has anyone been able to get Forte on Linux with j2sdk1.4.0

I am noticing a trend in the posts from people asking questions about setting up Forte on Linux. (1) Setting the JDK_HOME doesn't seem to work too well; (2) replies tend to reference old URL's or the vague URL's provided by SUN; (3) if not (2) then no reply at all.
I was able to get Forte working with the JDK1.3.1, but setting JAVA_HOME with the sdk doesn't work with the same approach.
    Any ideas?
    Solution may be:
    If replies = 0 then JBuilder;

I have my own solution. Jedit.

  • Anyone been able to get an acer smartbattery working?

I post this after a few days of wrestling with my brand new Acer TravelMate 401WLMi. Its a fantastic laptop and i have come across only one problem thus far with it, and that is the battery monitor in linux. I have tried the stock 2.6.15 kernel, the archck series, and a few that i have compiled myself and none have seemed to get me any acknowledgement that there is a battery in the system. Dmesg gives me lots of acpi errors on bootup, but everything works but the battery. Having researched the topic, it seems that the battery is a "smartbattery" and uses the smb bus to send/recieve battery information. I attempted patching my kernel using this
    http://shayol.bartol.udel.edu/~rhdt/dow … 120.tar.gz
but the patch to my dsdt didnt go smoothly.it ended up that by applying the patch i was able to create to my initrd, I actually killed support for my onboard wifi card, so i figured that wasnt the way to go. I wondered if anyone has any more ideas or any stories of getting the battery sensors to work properly on an acer laptop.
Just as a side note, i threw in a Kanotix live cd and it picks it up fine, but all i can find about the kanotix kernel is that its compiled with "a lot of patches." i imagine if i could find what patches they applied, i could get to the root of my problem, but again i havent been able to find any information regarding that.

ok well with further tinkering i found that forcing the module would create BAT0 in /proc/acpi/battery. i usually run without the battery in the laptop because i'm weird like that.. and i forgot i didnt have anything in there. when i polled the battery, it said none present so i shut down, installed the battery, and booted back up. this time, the module was seen as being used in lsmod, but BAT0 dissapeared in /proc/acpi/battery. i am utterly confused. upon trying the kanotix live cd, as well as numerous other live cd's, nothing picks up the battery or even sees anything in /proc/acpi/battery so i dont know where to go from here. anyone have any ideas?

  • TS1702 Has anyone been able to ulock the old-maps app?  I have tried several times and have not been able to o so.

I have tried several time to unlock the OldMaps (old-maps.co.uk) app without success.  Has anyone managed t do it?  If yes how?
    I keep getting:
    'In-App-Purchase Error:
There was an error purchasing this item please try again.'

I'd say the issue may be leaving it in direct sunlight. The temperature from the radiance of the sun could cook your iPad. But in that light, dude, its not a radio. Its a quality computing device capable of doing many thing, just not in direct heat. You might do better with a cd player?
Read this for more information on the subject of direct sunlight.

  • Has anyone been able to get a refund from American Express?

I understand their Best Value Guarantee has been discontinued as of Oct 2006. Is there another service they offer that would help me get $200 back?

The price matching program ended in 2006, but they have a Return Protection Program that assures that you can return an item (up to $300) within the first 90? days.
So, call 1-800-297-8019, select the option for new claim. Tell the agent that you want to return the iPhone and the store policy is 14 days only. They have had many calls about the iPhone already. Tell them that you want to re-purchase the iPhone at the new price of $399 rather than do a full return. The agent then said to me "so, you just want to get a credit for the difference? Yes."...
She took my info: model #, store loaction, charge amount, date & e-mail and told me it would take up to 2 weeks to process the claim and they would notify me by e-mail and the credit would be issued to my card, and she gave me a claim number.
She did tell me that this program does not cover price matching, but because of the circumstances &
Apple's return policy, it shouldn't be a problem. I guess there is a chance that they could refuse the claim because the return amount has a limit of $300... But come on, I pay $75/each for my GOLD cards.
