Has ANYone come across the problem i have? The screen expands?

Hey guys,
Has anyone come across this problem; the iphone screen now has enlargened slightly so that nothing is at the right resolution anymore!
Even at the home screen If i want to view the time, battery meter and the like, I have to tap up so the screen moves up. Having done this, the bottom bit becomes hidden (i.e. phone, mail, safari, ipod lines)!
What to do?

well i keep roaming around the support site n ended up just resetting all the settings..
I was reluctant to do so for fear of losing all data but that wasnt the case.
Seems to have fixed it.
Im thinking it was an application that may have tweeked the settings a little?
and no, the zoom wasnt on. :S

i have a similar problem...It seems to be tied to my guest account. It is set to Japanese as primary language but my main login is set to English. I tried changing the guest account to english but the change won't hold. It always reverts to Japanese.

Sounds to me like the battery has failed.
You can take it to an Apple Store. They MAY be able to do something.. Or, you can find parts and "How-To" repair guides on the internet. eBay and Google are your friends...

As of yesterday (4th Dec 2012) everything was fine, no trouble or problems at all. Wake up this morning, turn on the computer and when it came time to backup itself, the message occurred above and this has prevented my time machine from backing up from this morning (5th Dec 2012) ever since then.
Everything on my computer is up-to-date but this problem still persists displaying this message practically every hour, on the hour and nothing is getting backedup!
If you know what is going on and more importantly, how to fix this, I would be indebted to you for sharing your knowledge with me on this subject.

Currecny Translation - Has anyone come across a scenario like this?

Group Currency - USD
We translate each entities Income statement based on the following rates:
Weighted average rate for Revenues
Weighted average rate for Costs
Weighted average rate for Administrative Expenses.
These weighted average rates are calculated as follows:
Revenue:
u2211 (Mid month exchange Rate)*(Monthly Revenue / Year to date Revenue)
Cost:
u2211 (Mid month exchange Rate)*(Monthly Cost / Year to date Cost)
Administrative expense:
u2211 (Mid month exchange Rate)*(Monthly expense / Year to date expense)
Complexity of the current practice:
We have 3 legal entities in Spain and their functional currency is EUR.
Similarly, we have 3 legal entities in Germany having EUR as their functional currency.
In order to perform a currency translation from EUR to USD - in a case like this,
We need to maintain
for each entity
One weighted average rate for u2013 Revenues/ Costs/ Expenses
In total there will be 6 weighted average rates for Revenues/ Costs/ Expenses.
(And this is only for two entities)
Has anyone come across a scenario like this??
Can we achieve the weighted average rate calculations in SAP??

L2TP w/ PSK unable to connect via the phone dataplan, has anyone come across this?

I have been messing around with this on my Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0.2 and have confirmed the following settings for VPNs to our corprate firewall.
PPTP over Dataplan CDMA -- Everything works fine
PPTP over Dataplan LTE -- Untested due to lack of availability where I live and work, will test at a later date.
PPTP over WiFi -- Everything works fine
L2TP over Dataplan CDMA -- Connection timeout
L2TP over Dataplan LTE -- Untested due to lack of availability where I live and work, will test at a later date.
L2TP over WiFi -- Everything works fine
OpenVPN not supported without rooting the phone -- Verizon please add this functionality into your base ROMs for all of your phones.
The reason I ask about anyone coming across this or having a fix is PPTP may work but it's old/insecure comparitively and may be going away in a future stable tree release of the corprate firewall I work with. The full support of L2TP and/or OpenVPN/SSL-VPN would make life a lot easier for us techs who need to bounce into a server quickly and do what's needed when having a PC at hand is impossible, ie at a sitdown resturant. If you need logs of the connect attempt let me know and I'll get them to you. I did however see this error posted on the Samsung Fascinate forum as well.

As of yet no, they are on my list of people to call but I won't be able to get to that call until a little later, once I do call Verizon Tech support I will reply with the post here if it hasn't been answered by someone who has come up with a workaround on the issue.

Has anyone come across the 'insufficient data for an image' bug in Reader 9.5.1??

We have an application that uses Reader to open scanned documents containing JP2K images and our users are intermittently getting this error however I can only find instances online of this bug from version 9.5.2 up.
Has anyone seen this bug in 9.5.1??

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Our application uses scanned images up to 10 years old, and there are thousands of images so we cannot rescan these unfortunately.
I work in a large organisation with it's own desktop team so unfortunately I can't upgrade the version of Reader on our user's machines to see if this resolves either. The desktop team will also not upgrade the version as the problem appears to have only started in 9.5.2.
Does anyone know how I can confirm if the problem was first seen in 9.5.2 or if there were instances in 9.5.1 also?

Has anyone come up with a solution for the WD Passport and Mavericks OSX issues yet?

I was wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for the newer Macbook Pro/Mavericks and external WD Passport not mounting problems?
I have a couple of year old WD Passport that worked fine in my old 2009 Macbook Pro, the problem is the old computer crashed.
My dilemna; My new 2014 Mackbook Pro will not open my WD Passport, called WD Support, their answer, sorry, nothing has been solved.
Is there anyway I can get access to my files on the Passport with any other software, or by using a PC.
I am aware of reformatting the HD, and have read all the forums I could find and have tried installing the WD Update as well, (with the support tech from WD) and nothing works.
I know that my WD Passport works, so please don't suggest checking it, or the cord.
I appreciate all the help anyone can offer, and I am with all the rest of you struggling for solutions.

Hi everyone, this is what I did
1. upgrade disks to the latest firmware
2. de-install ntfs-3g and MacFuse.
3. Re-install NTFS 3G without Macfuse.
4. Next step: Install OSXFUSE latest version with selection MacFUSE compatibility layer.
5. Last step: Install Fuse Wait
Note: between steps 2 and 5, I restarted my machine.
It worked for me, after about 4 hours.

Has anyone come across what I call phantom memory syndrome?

My phone was showing that I only had 76 MB of space left on it, so deleted a bunch of stuff thinking that it was full. After doing so I still gained no additional free space. So I began by looking at the usage information, I added up what was actually used to get a total of almost 7GB yet the other 5 GB was gone. Did a restore and updated to iOS 7.1 by doing that I gained the space back. Still curious to see what happened I deleted all the music from my phone all 491 songs. So now it shows all the songs are in the cloud beside each song. So I played a few songs and later checked the amount of usage by the music app, it was showing 18 songs and 132 MB of space in use. Yet all the songs were showing in the cloud still. Went to the apple store and they wiped it as there usual solution and they told me my backup was bad and to set it up as new. Did that and it showed no data under the usage for the music app. Sat down ate and played two songs and it did the same thing, went back to the store this time they gave me new phone. This time the cloud wouldn't even give me my old backup, so I set it up as new again. No problem left thinking it was the phone, well it's not. Got home started setting it up like before and I played a song and there it was again showing in the cloud yet it's deducting free space from the phone itself. Anyone have any ideas what going on?

I don't use iTunes Match, when I go to the music app on my phone it does not show the song is actually on my device it shows it's on the cloud. Now when I play the song it streams it and still shows the cloud icon beside the song. However when I check the usage information it shows it has reduced the amount of space on my device yet it still shows in the cloud when I go back to my music it never shows it has actually downloaded to my device. So basically why does it show still in the could and also reduces the amount of space on my device when the song isn't actually on my device?

Theorem, you don't give any context as to what you were doing when you got the -50 error but I'll relate where I have seen it. I don't know if the underlying cause is the same as in the iOS5 copy operations others have reported.
Error -50 is described as being caused by an "Error in [a] user parameter list" (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1618).
I have found it during bulk copy operations performed by dragging a folder that contained a file with a name containing a %20 (representing a space). Presumably this was resulting in a space being created in a file copy command line and the list of parameters for the command had an incorrect additional parameter as a result. Bulk copies between differently formatted disks or where the file names came from a third source such as a file/xml etc. are probably more likely to result in these unsupported file names. Problems are more likely to be identified during bulk copies as there are more files involved. Using a command line cp -R was a workaround for me (http://support.apple.com/kb/TA20831).
There is also mention in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error50 or error -50 being caused by timeouts over USB for which they recommend direct USB connection not using any hub. I have also seen hubs cause other issues which can be difficult to believe at the time but direct connnection is worth trying if you aren't already directly connected.

On a 7936 set, we dial an 800 number for a conference bridge. The
bridge answers and requests a PIN number. When we attempt to enter the
PIN number there is no dial pad feed back tone when we press the numbers.
Subsequently the bridge responds with did not detect your PIN number. It
appears the dial pad is not active after the bridge answers. I have about 10 deployed all configured the same this happens on 3????

when I use my Logitec wirless mouse and right click anywhere in an open window or Desk top suddenly my whole screen flashes and i loose any open windows why is this this just happend since I upgraded to Tiger 10.4.2 last week. it is still happening after the update of 10.4.8 I have a dual 2 gig G5 with 3.5gig of ram please if anyone can help

You may have a bad file in the "Contextual Menu Items" folder in the "Library" folder in your home folder, or the "Library" folder at the top level of the hard drive. If there is anything in the "Contextual Menu Items" folder, try dragging it out, and see if that fixes it. Have you installed the full version of Stuffit? It can cause this. There is a fix at their web-site.

Thanks for the hint but I just discovered that it was the id that I assigned to the Label in s:ItemRenderer that was causing this error. I changed id value from 'owner' to 'owner1' and that took care of that error. If 'owner' is an existing property in the class hierarchy of s:ItemRenderer, shouldn't it give some "Identifier used more than once" type of error?
In any case, I'm closing this case and hopefully someone familiar with this fundamentals of this issue will throw some light on it.
