Has anyone configured NT realm in 8.1?

Hi there,
Our client currently using Windows NT Server, would like to see if use the NT
realm for WebLogic Server 8.1 and then further for WebLogic Portal 8.1.
I have gone through the steps in http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ConsoleHelp/security_6x.html#1105735,
but up to step 5 I'm totally lost. Is the documentation outdated or I was not
following the steps correctly?
Thx in advance.
best regards, Andrew

See http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/upgrade/upgrade6xto81.html#1066408 for more
details.

yes I have done this. If you are running in "compatibility security
mode" those instructions are correct .
If you are starting from a fresh 8.1 domain then you have to configure
a
"realmadapterauthentication provider"
restart the server and you will see the pages for configuring NT realm

  • Has anyone configured a Mail account to connect to a First Class server?

I have the FirstClass Client on my Mac for School email. Now I want to configure a Mail account using IMAP to connect to the firstclass server at my school so all of my mail accounts can be viewed through the Mail app.
    Has anyone done this?
It would be great to get my firstclass mail on my iPhone!

I had POP3/SMTP working to our FirstClass 8.3 server (OS X) and just tried IMAP4 - seems to work (now).
I'm the administrator of both FirstClass ("inherited" it - not very knowledgeable I'm afraid) and our main mailsystem CommuniGate too.
We don't really use FirstClass for "regular" mail.
In Apple MAIL I log in using the User ID/pw and the IMAP setting seems to default to MD5 Challenge respons for the pw.
    What's your problem?
Are IMAP4/SMTP enabled in the server? Can you portscan your server for open TCP ports 143 IMAP and 25 SMTP (those could be useing some other portnumber depending on server setting).

  • Has anyone configured OBIEE for the PeopleSoft Financials Prebuilt solution

I am looking to bounce some questions off those that have configured OBIEE Prebuilt against Peoplesoft, namely the Peolpesoft Financials......We are noticing some configuration issues that we can not understand. On of our main fact tables is populating but not others and would like see if anyone has experience this. I try to get specific questions here soon. Thanks for any of you that can assist.

    Hi,
Well, with peoplesoft you can save different languages into the lang tables, into those tables are just saved the description fields so we want to load the lang tables into the datawarehouse as well. Then when we show the reports we can see, for example the description department in English or Spanish depends on the language I choose in the log in page in BI.
We couldn´t find out where those description fields in other language could be saved into the datawarehouse, we just know how to save a language (english or Spanish) but not both of them. The problem is just with the description fields.
    Thanks in advance

  • Email PO - Has anyone configured the Company Name in the Subject Email?

    Hi experts,
I have configured the following in the subject of the email for all of our PO's being sent via email.
    PO  &EKKO-EBELN& - &EKKO-BUKRS&
This shows the PO Number and the Company Code in the subject line.  My clients do not want the Company Code to go into the subject becuase it is meaningless to our vendors / suppliers.  I need to find out how I can add the company name into the subject.
NOTE:  We have more than 1/2 dozen company names.
    Thanks

    hi
pass the company code to the company code table get the description and pass on to a local variable from there display in subject email.

  • Has anyone configured Harvester to Eclipse successfully?

I strictly followed the official guide but I didn't get Harvester working. Then I tried to use Harvester from command line and I am getting the message: Failed to get authToken.
I only made two changes in HarvesterSettings.xml. I change the HarvesterSettings.xml by using ecrypt.bat to get this result <password>v2_1.3jPrBaLjmnJaGGJBn0vwPg==</password> and I setted where is my jar
    <rootDir>C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester\harvester\</rootDir>
    <files>sbconfig.jar</files>
The firts lines of error message is:

I didn't reach the entire solution, but I would like to register here what I have done. Maybe, this will be useful for someone.
    Step-by-step
    1) In Admin menu, I clicked Import Export. As a result, Import/Export utility was downloaded
    2) From Import/Export utility, I imported C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester-Solution-Pack.zip. As a result, when I click List All under the Import Export, I see JobId 50200, Description Import, State Completed.
    3) Unziped 11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester.zip
    4) Opened command line from windows 7.
    5) Accessed the unziped folder (cd C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester\harvester)
    6) I setted the Windows enviroment variable: BEA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware.
    7) I encrypted the file C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester\harvester\HarvesterSettings.xml by accessed diagnostic page (http://localhost:7101/oer/diag/index.jsp), clicked in Encrypt Strings for passwords link e got the password encrypetd (v2_1.3jPrBaLjmnJaGGJBn0vwPg==)
    8) I setted up repository connection information (C:\Oracle\Middleware\repository111\core\tools\solutions\11.1.1.6.0-OER-Harvester\harvester\HarvesterSettings.xml). As a result, the HarvesterSettings.xml has this tags:
    <repository>
<uri>http://localhost:7101/oer/</uri> ---- here was my last error
    <credentials>
    <user>admin</user>
    <password>v2_1.3jPrBaLjmnJaGGJBn0vwPg==</password>
    </credentials>
    <timeout>30000</timeout>
    </repository>
    9) Now I am expecting to be able to harvest to OER. To test I will try harvest a simple wsdl file to OER with the next command.
    harvest.bat -file C:\Users\demecarv\workspace\Echo_wsdl\appClientModule\Echo.wsdl
But unfortunetlly, I got this error:
    [main] ERROR com.oracle.oer.sync.plugin.writer.oer.ALERConnectionCache - F
ailed to get authToken due to: [{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Serve
r.userException] [java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect] [java.

    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
    faultSubcode:

    faultActor:
    faultNode:
    faultDetail:
    {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}stackTrace:java.net.ConnectException: Conne
    ction refused: connect
After I struggled a lot I discover that it was caused because I was using <uri>http://localhost:7101/oer/</uri>. Soon I changed to my computer full name, it has been fixed, at least to work from command line with a simple wsdl.
PS.: The only serious instruction I found on internet was http://brajeshde.blogspot.com.br/ which tell us to use the harvester which comes with OSB instead of the one comming with OER. That has been sounded a good option if in the future something doesn't work with harvester origineted from Repository. Because I didn't find many related articles I am wondering if this tool is realy used in matured enviroment.

  • In EPM 11.1.2.1 Has anyone sucessfully configured the SSODiag web app

Hi All, we are installing and configuring Oracle EPM 11.1.2.1 with Foundation services running on a Windows 2008 R2 Standard server. Our users have been waiting for us to provide single sign-on for the Web applications (we are currently on 9.3.3). We installed and configured Foundation services and started the config for SSO using Kerberos and Active Directory.
We have performed the following :
    1) setup the active directory user to use as the Kerberos principle
    2) usign SETSPN, KTPASS configured the principle user and had the keytab file generated using:
ktpass -out SVC_ORACLEEPM.keytab -mapuser SVC_ORACLEEPM -crypto DES-CBC-CRC -princ HTTP/[email protected] -pass PASSWORD -ptype KRB5_NT_PRINCIPAL
    3) copied the keytab file copied to the Foundation Services server (DEVEMP01) and placed in "C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem"
    4) Verified the keytab using the java kinit commands
    java -Dsun.security.krb5.debug=true sun.security.krb5.internal.tools.Kinit -k -t C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\SVC_ORACLEEPM.keytab HTTP/[email protected]
was able to get the kerberos ticket cached successfully:
    --- KrbAsRep cons in KrbAsReq.getReply HTTP/devepm01.domain.com
--- New ticket is stored in cache file C:\Users\svc_oracleepm\krb5cc_SVC_ORACLEEPM
    5) configured the Active Directory provider in Weblogic (can retreive all users including my service account)
    6) configured the Negotiate Identity provider
    7) installed and configured the SSODiag web application per the 11.1.2.0 document "http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/config-epm-foundation-kerberos-303841.pdf " as the 11.1.2.1 document is incomplete. I also found some missing steps in the 11.1.2.0 doc, but was able to get it.
    8) service account is used to log onto the Windows server and is used to starte the FoundationServices service and weblogic admin console.
in the above - the "DOMAIN.COM" is the Kerberos domain
The problems now are the SSODiag app is not authenticating the user. All our active directory users authenticate to MS Sharepoint through Kerberos, so the browsers and users are setup properly, I did double check the browser settings just in case.
I also have an open support ticket with Oracle support, but wanted to find out if anyone out there has sucessfully configured SSODiag and has it working with Kerberos, Active Directory and Weblogic 10.3.x included with EPM 11.1.2.1.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

For anyone interested, we were finally able to configure SSO. Working with Oracle support and a web conf with the developers was needed.
The documentation is lacking all the instructions to make a sucessful connection and has incorrect information as well. The SSODiag app was working for all XP and IE6/IE7 machines, my Windows 7 and IE8 machine would not work and is still an outstanding issue with development.

  • Configuring JMS and loadbalancer with SSL termination? Has Anyone done it?

    Hi all,
I'm having a problem getting JMS or even any JNDI lookup to work with a hardware load balancer and SSL termination. Has anyone used such a configuration? The load balancer in question is a Cisco CSS 11500 Series which has an SSL module. A client communicates with the CSS over SSL, the SSL module decrypts the packets and sends it for content switching and on to WebLogic as cleartext.
Without SSL termination everthing works fine. With SSL termination active, Web service and web content all work fine, but I can't get SSL tGetting Initial context from ms01

o work for a simple JNDI lookup. With SSL debugging turned on, the following output is given:
When I compare the Server HTTP logs I see that an initial context lookup involves 3 HTTP requests, e.g.
    25.2.1.210 - - [29/Sep/2006:16:29:12 +0100] "GET /bea_wls_internal/HTTPClntLogin/a.tun?wl-login=https+dummy+WLREQS+8.1.5+dummy+%0A&r

When my request goes through the load balancer I see the following in the HTTP logs:
    10.51.0.200 - - [29/Sep/2006:16:31:33 +0100] "GET /bea_wls_internal/HTTPClntLogin/a.tun?wl-login=https+dummy+WLREQS+8.1.5+dummy+%0A&

Notice the time delay in some of the messages.
The following error appears in the WebLogic server log, however I've verified that all IP addresses referenced by the load balancer configuration match those in the WebLogic configuration:
    <29-Sep-2006 16:31:43 o'clock IST> <Error> <RJVM> <BEA-000572> <The server rejected a connection attempt JVMMessage from: '266014296

probably due to an incorrect firewall configuration or admin command.>
When a JNDI lookup is made directly to a WebLogic server on the https port, the client gives the following output:

  • Has anyone managed to configure aggregate tables correctly?

    Hi all,
Although OBIEE supports the use of aggregate tables in fact tables as an additional source (for performance improvements), has anyone actually correctly configured them for metrics that use AVGs?
We are seeing that if you create an aggregate table which already calculates averages, when these values are used in further aggregations at the higher levels, they are actually incorrect, as they are based on the pre-calculated averages of the aggregate table, and not on the average of the lowest grain of detail of the fact. This is not a problem for SUM, MIN or MAX metrics, but is a problem for AVG metrics.
This is partly logical, but is a serious limitation for the use of aggregate tables. These tables are correct for all the dimensions included in that aggregated table, but not when you remove one of those dimension in an OBIEE request.
The only workaround we see is to redefine the metric as a metric with a logical definition:
SUM(column that contains value which we want an average for) / SUM (no. of columns in question)
At the lowest detail this has no impact, but on the aggregated levels above, this would assure a correctly calculated average.
Any advice? Opinions? Prior experiences? anything?

    Thanks Wildnight.
Yes, it seems logical that with sum all would work correctly, however i think this is only one type of common metrics in use in any datawarehouse. If anyone has any other ideas let me know.
There is also the possibility to play around with the aggregate configuration based on dimensiones (maybe introducing some clever formula in the 'Others' dimension option), or maybe defining AVG in the actual metric definition in the column mappings, and setting the aggregate rule to None.

What do you mean by trapping on a port? Is it the same as port forwarding? The following link might help:

  • Has anyone in this Forum had problems with installing and running Adobe apps on the new MacPro?

Has anyone in this Forum had problems with installing and running Adobe apps on the new MacPro?
I have been trying to install Photoshop CS6 & CC and Acrobat Pro XI on my Mac Pro (late 2013). I keep getting a 'configuration' error message and wondered if the problem was wide spread.
    TIA,

    Thanks, Martin.
Good to hear someone has had success. The lack of it here is frustrating and depressing.
    Thanks again,
    Jerry

  • [solved]Catalyst + xorg 1.6 = Has anyone gotten it to work?

After going over the wiki for ATI and installing the catalyst+catalyst utils (9.4) from AUR using yaourt, the device refused to load. Now, I don't have the error on file as I'm not at home. But the question remains: Has anyone gotten this to work?
    (*) 4870 HD Radeon card
(*) 9.4 driver + utils from yaurt/AUR (I didn't.. see official 9.4 drivers anyone on the ATI website, how did we get them?)
(*) no xorg.conf used, just startx to automatically detect hardware. And it worked, attempting to use the catalyst-based driver, but only with red bars and blocks on top of the screen
(*) xf86-video-ati and radeonhd both work fine, but obviously the 3d support isn't so hot, and I'm a huge gamer
(*) latest xorg release from pacman -Syu
(*) Yes, I know official support has ceased
Thoughts? Shared ideas? What are we waiting for, ATI's new drivers or a patched fix? Got this working, anyone?
edit: Yes, I've searched the forums. But there's too much scattered information and not enough to really focus on what seems to be the problem and how to resolve it
