Has anyone connected Lookout to Motorola RTU's via Motorola MCP-T gateway

I am looking for a driver to connect Lookout to Motorola's MCP-T Gateway for communication with Motorola RTU's via radio. Has anyone seen a driver or developed such a driver?

I'm very familiar with most of the Motorola equipment, but why have I never heard of a MCP-T Gateway. I've done a bunch of systems and am working on one as we speak with MOSCAD RTU's. I'm having Lookout talk Modbus to a FIU and the FIU is gathering data from the field talking MDLC over the air.

  • Has anyone Connected a Crystal Report directly to a Microsoft Project file (MPP)?

    Post Author: Brian Morris
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Iu2019m aware I can save Microsoft Project Files (MPP) to an Access Database, Excel document etc. and there are ways to connect to a Microsoft Project Server.
I wanted to know if anyone has managed to connect directly to one though. Currently we use MPPs to report project status and other deliverables, and itu2019s been an annoyance to have to save the project file then export the data over into a new excel document when ever we have changes (since not all users have project or need all the data in the file).
Preferably, a user should be able to save that project file and anyone that has the Crystal report should be able to run the report against the MPP file. In addition to this, it would be extremely helpful in getting a formalized and nicely formatted report when running reports against rational and MMP files, thus giving an alternative from SODA reports in Microsoft word, which doesnu2019t always work well.
    Thanks!

CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Ok, I answered my own question on the connection issue, but I'm having issues with the predefined fields that enter into the report. The Database Expert shows the correct table names, but when I select them and look at the fields, they are all showing fields that are part of the "Project" table. when I use "Add Command" and use SQL to do a "Select * From TableName" ,where TableName is the name of the respective table, I get the data I'm looking for. Has anyone else run into this error? Is the error on Crystal Reports side or the Data provider's OLE DB driver? Has anyone with a fully patched system encountered the same errors?
Current SetupCrystal Version: 11.0.0.1282CR Professional; Product Type:FullOLE DB Driver: Microsoft Project 10.0 OLE DB Provider
I have pasted my findings below, hopefully other people won't have the same issues I did trying to find this information. if anyone else wants to test and see if they get the same issues I did it would be greatly appreciated.
Connecting a Crystal Report XI to a Microsoft Project File (MPP)
    Prerequisites (as I know them)
    -          Have an installation of Crystal Reports on the machine (a given)
    -          Have Microsoft Project 2000/2003 installed OR  the Microsoft Project OLE DB provider which is installed with Microsoft Project (NOTE: Microsoft 2007 supposedly no longer supports OLE DB and requires an OLAP cube be made or a SOAP connection be used, which I donu2019t deal with personally)
    Creating the connection
    Start Crystal Reports
Click u201CBlank Reportu201D on the start page
    in the u201CDatabase Expertu201D window, under u201CAvailable Data Sourcesu201D, Select u201C+u201D next to u201CCreate New Connectionu201D
    Select the u201C+u201D beside u201COLE DB(ADO)u201D
If a u201COLE DB (ADO)u201D  window does not come up, double click u201CMake New Connectionu201D
In the u201Cprovider:u201D box Select the u201CMicrosoft Project 10.0 OLE DB Provideru201D
The name may be different depending on the version of project you install and the patch you have on the machine
    Select u201CNext >u201D
Under u201CDatabase:u201D copy/paste in the path and project file name
I donu2019t believe the other fields u201CData Source:u201D, u201CUser ID:u201D, or u201CPasswordu201D need to be filled out, and in fact, I got an error when entering in data into them
    Example: u201CC:\Projects\Project Name\Current Schedule.mppu201D
    Select u201CNext >u201D
In the Advaned information window, verify the project Name is the path of the project.
I have not found the use of u201CEnterprise Modeu201D (default: 0), u201CAlways Loadu201D (default: 0), u201COLE DB Servicesu201D(default: -5), or u201CEnterprise RUID Listu201D (default: blank), removing them or changing them did cause errors though.
    Click u201CFinishu201D
Adding in Tables and extracting data
You now have a connection to the project File you listed. There is an issue Iu2019ve found though that all the tables you see listed are filling their fields in from the u201CProjectu201D Table, rather then their respective tables (Example: u201CAssignmentsu201D is pointing at u201CProjectu201D rather then the obvious connection u201CAssignmentsu201D). You can, however, use the u201CAdd Commandu201D and select the table you want with just a little SQL code:
    Select *
    From Assignments
After creating the command, highlight it and hit u201CF2u201D. You should be able to edit the name and change it from u201CCommandu201D to something more meaningful. At the current time Iu2019m unsure if the issue with the default tables all pointing toward the project table is an error on the provider side or Crystal Reports end, and if one of the new patches will fix it. I will update this document accordingly when I have more information and do more testing. I will note however, there is no way to change which table these preset fields point to.
    Thank you for your time.

  • Don't Laugh!  Has anyone connected a 7.3.4 client to a 9iR2 64 bit database

I know everyone is probably scratching their heads, but has anyone every connected to a 9iR2 64 bit database using a V7 OCI drivers to connect to the database? The V7 OCI works fine with 8.1.7.4.

Can you detail it a little bit more?
You do have a 8174 installation and are you using
just the listener? Is it that all?
    Have I missed something?
Sort of. The 9207 database is running on a HP-UX cluster that is used to host many databases, some of which are 8174, some of which are 9207. So, luckily, 8174 is already installed so it was as simple as creating a new listener in this home for the 9207 database.
    Crude but effective.

  • Has anyone connected to iFS from Perl or PHP

    Hi,
I am evaluating iFS and we currently connect to Oracle 8i
through Perl and PHP. Is Java the only way to connect to iFS or
has anyone been able to do it through other scripting languages
such as Perl or PHP? Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    thank you.

Regarding PHP you may consider using the PHP-build in java
wrapper (--with-java). However, your code will be significant
harder to read, while basically doing the same than native java
code. It makes no sesnse to rewrite the ifs-java-API itself, as

  • Has anyone connect an ant device to an ipad?

Has anyone managed to connect an ipod mini to a garmin ant dongle? I have the lightning to camera cord but the ipad does not support the connection. I have Digifit which support garmin ant but does not connect to the and dongle

The garmin dongle is a USB.  Garmin has software for Intel-based Mac OS 10.6.8 or later for ANT agent but the Ipad uses different software.  I guess that my question should be, is there a work around for this.
This is what Garmin has to say:
Garmin ANT Agent allows you to transfer fitness data from compatible Garmin ANT devices to and from your computer. Garmin ANT Agent detects any paired Garmin devices in range and automatically downloads fitness data to your computer and transfers the data to Garmin Connect.
This version supports:  Receiving history from all Garmin ANT devices
Sending received history to Garmin Connect
Goals in Garmin Connect will automatically be sent to your Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 405 when receiving history
Sending workouts, courses and user profile to Forerunner 310XT, Forerunner 405 and Forerunner 610 from Training Center
Updating firmware in FR60, Forerunner 310XT, Forerunner 405 and Forerunner 610
Sending goals to Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 405 from Garmin Connect
Receiving workouts and courses/virtual races from Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 610

    256 MB RAM
    150 MB free disk space

  • Has anyone used Lookout 4.5 with Motorola MOSCAD?

If so, please send me an e-mail at [email protected] My question is, Can I use the ModbusMOSCAD driver to talk directly to a RTU in the field via radio without using a FIU or do I have to use and FIU and talk modbus to the FIU and let the FIU gather the info from the field?

Here's what the Lookout online help says:
The ModbusMOSCAD object class works with Motorola MOSCAD PLCs and RTUs. It also uses the Modbus Serial (ASCII or RTU) or Modbus Plus communication protocol, but its data members reflect the address of Motorola MOSCAD devices.
It looks like you should be fine using the modbusMOSCAD object in Lookout

  • Has anyone connected a scanner to the AirPort Express unit?

I have an AirPort express wireless unit right now running as a range extender. I have not connected a printer to it yet and I was wondering if the unit only allows printers or would a scanner or other similar USB device also work?
I am more curious right now, and simply wondering if anyone has been successful connecting a non-printer to that port.
Dual G5 and MacBookPro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

thanks to both of you for the info but I am a stubborn guy:)
That article does not exclude scanners in the list of devices that don't work.
A scanner is "close" to a printer. Certainly closer than a disk drive, and as Spok says, "There are always possibilities."
I was told that the AirPort Express device would not work with my LinkSys SRX200 and it works fine as a range extender.
I will first connect a printer to the USB port just to get my feet wet and after I get that working I will unplug it and connect my scanner to it and see what happens. The very worst thing would be that the world comes to an end.
Anyway, I will report back what happens. Certainly something should happen such as an error message or a driver error or some such thing or it might work.
Being a born hacker, telling me it won't work is music to my ears.
OK, maybe it won't work. But so far, nobody has told me why.
    I will return

  • Has anyone connected the Sony HD700 deck to FC6 to import HD video?

    Hi,
I recently decided to make the jump to HD, so I needed to get a new deck as my old Panasonic one is only SD. I'm shooting HD on the Canon XHA1 and now I'm trying to connect the new Sony deck into Final Cut but Final Cut won't recognize it. I did a test with the deck set to SD using an SD tape and a SD preset in Final Cut, and that worked fine. I guess I'm doing something wrong with my HD settings. Any advice? Do I need an HD firewire cable or something like that? The HD tape will play in the deck and show up on its little screen, but Final Cut will not recognize the device control. Help! Thanks...

Hmm, I'll have to try that, I've never actually used the "Print to Tape" option before. To do a quick layout to a VHS I just kept my HD project open, created a new SD project, copied all the clips from the HD timeline over into the new SD timeline, switched my deck back to SD, and then just hit play on the SD timeline and ran it through firewire through my deck and into the VCR. Obviously not the optimal quality solution, but it got the footage onto a tape for my client.
This whole switch to HD is so much more complicated than I thought! I mean, I guess not really super complicated if I would have done ALL the research at once, but so many more gadgets to buy than just getting the HD camera. Anyway, thanks again for your help...

  • Has anyone connected the console on a Sun M4000 to a  HP Comware 5830-96G switch

We have a Sun M4000 connected to an older HP switch, and it works fine.  When we move the connection to the new HP Comware 5830-96G it will not work.  The switch shows the interface up, autoneg to 100mb full duplex, but no mac address.  Other servers like the T2000 and V215s all connect properly.

    Hi,
seems the connection parameters as you indicated are ok.
You can use the serial console connection to verify that networking is still enabled
    >shownetwork

Just to confirm, did you use the correct port on the xscf?

  • Has anyone used (or is knowledgeable on) ISG feature? (Intelligent Services Gateway)

    Hi,
I am trying to obtain more information about the ISG feature on 7200 and 7600 platforms and finding it very difficult to obtain answers from distributors or even Cisco representatives.
    The main questions are:
    - How many subscribers include the 7200 license?, provided that my subscribers would be of IP-type (not tunnelled).
    FR-ISG72
    ISG Feature License for 7200
    FR-ISG72=
    ISG Feature License for 7200
    - What other licenses are needed in a 7200 platform?
    I believe, maybe:
    FR-BUS72
Cisco IOS 7200/7300/7400 Series Broadband 8000 User License
    FR-BUS72=
Cisco IOS 7200 Series Broadband User Services License
    -  On Cico 7600, ISG is licensed in steps of 8000 subscribers. If I have a redundant system (two routing engines), do I need to buy the license twice?
    76-ES+ISG-LIC
ES+ Intelligent Services Gateway SW License, 8K subs, 8 VRF
    76-ES+ISG-LIC=
ES+ Internet Services Gateway (ISG) Software License
    Thanks

    Thanks indeed for your response.
In fact I could not obtain any support at all from Cisco (Spain) even if I explained we were a small software company that required ISG to complement an existing solution for a BIG mobile operator. The question was supposed to be escalated to the US more than 1 month ago.
Myself, I was actually able to better understand the configuration and licenses required for the feature, with a final question about the capacity (maximum number of sessions). My conclusions and questions are at the end of this email, in case you or anyone else is interested.
Anyway, our main requirement is not traffic shaping, but providing a captive portal (redirect unauthorized traffic to some node, and be able to let the box know when an IP is "authorized"/"unauthorized".Cisco used to have a smaller feature to do this called SSG (service selection gateway) which is end-of-lifed, I believe.
If you know a box that does this, please advise! And it would be nice if you could recommend an "inline packet swatter".
For demo, I have done it myself with linux and iptables, but the time to make it business-class may be more costly than buying some product.
The issues I have had trying to find out information from Juniper ("subscriber management" feature) are similar!!
    Final Question about ISG capacity
We wish to use the Intelligent Services Gateway (ISG) functionality, which seems supported only on Cisco 10000, 7600, 7300 and 7200 routers.
Our traffic requirements are not too high (500Mbps), but due to the following number of sessions limitation in 7200/7300, the right platform for us seems the 7600:
"The Cisco 7200 Series and Cisco 7301 scale from 4000 to 8000 sessions"
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/iosswrel/ps6537/ps6549/ps6588/prod_bulletin0900aecd804a2c70.html
We would actually need 50000-100000 consurrent sessions.
On Cisco 7600, the feature seems supported by default on Cisco IOS 12.2SR without the need for an extra license, even with the plain "IP Services" flavour of IOS.
However, we have the following fundamental questions that we could not completely resolve with the documentation or software configurator tool.
Maximum number of consurrent sessions supported
Our sessions would be of the "IP session" kind, meaning:
"An IP session includes all the traffic that is associated with a single subscriber IP address".
On the documentation, this is the applicable information that we find regarding the number of sessions:
    http://www9.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/isg/configuration/guide/isg_acess_sub_sessns_ps6922_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html
Beginning in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE, the Cisco 7600 router supports IP subscriber sessions only on the SIP400 and ES+ line cards
The Cisco 7600 router enforces limits on the number of IP subscriber sessions per line card and router chassis. If the number of active sessions exceeds the following limits, an error message displays:
    - Cisco 7600 chassis—32,000 subscriber sessions (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE1 and later releases)
    - ES+ line card—4000 subscriber sessions per port group; 16,000 sessions per line card (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRE and later releases)
    - SIP400 line card—8000 subscriber sessions (supported in Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRD4 and later releases)
Let us suppose that we use the SIP400 line card, since ES+ is far from our networking requirements.
    Please confirm/answer the following:
No special license is required to use ISG with SIP400.
Is the 8000 session limitation per SIP400 module or per SPA attached to it?
I read in the documentation, that the SAMI card enhances the maximum number of ISG sessions:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/isg/configuration/guide/isg_sup_sami_blade.html
The ISG Support for SAMI Blade feature combines the subscriber management features and functions of the Cisco Intelligent Services Gateway (ISG) with the processing power of the Cisco Service Application Module for IP (SAMI). The Cisco SAMI blade has six PowerPC (PPC) processors and occupies just one slot in the Cisco 7600 series router. This means that you can support many ISG features for up to 600,000 subscribers on a single router.
We then assume that the SAMI blade overcomes the limitations noted above: 32,000 session/chassis and 8,000 sessions/SIP400. Correct?
No extra license is required to use ISG with SAMI.
Based on this assumptions, an example configuration for a single node could be:
