Has anyone dealt with a Granville-Phillips 307 vacuum gauge?"

I am trying to control the degas on/off switch and so far, nothing seems to be working. Any advice?

You're going to have to do better than that. Saying 'weird error' doesn't say anything at all. Every error generated has a code and a message. Provide that and someone might be able to help. Also, this VI has nothing in that will record data.

  • Has anyone dealt with World Wide Tech Support?

Just looking for some feedback here because I have my doubts...
I scheduled an appointment through AppleCare for on-site service. They sent a tech from WWTS who never worked on a Mac, by his own admission. He tried to pry the case apart for about 45 minutes and made 4 calls to his supervisor for instructions. To make a long story very short, by the time he had the case off and had trouble disconnecting the cables, I told him to just close it up and have them send a rep who knew Macs.
Has anyone else had an experience with WWTS? Good, bad or indifferent. Just trying to get a handle on who/what these folks are.

Yes, I've done that and more. I'm sitting here with a zeroed out HDD, a major headache and no callback from WWTS which was promised. I'm dealing with that at my end I can assure you.
But I'm interested specific feedback on this AASP(?), if anyone has some.

  • Has anyone dealt with Stephanie at Apple?

I had a problem with my computer a while ago (actually it's having the same problem now) and after going round and round with people on the phone and getting nowhere I recieved an e-mail from Apple asking how my recent phone experience was, needless to say I fired off an angry and frustrated missive and the next day received a call from Stephanie who agreed to have the computer fixed under an exception code. I took the computer in and the tech said all it needed was the have the video card reseated. It worked nearly flawlessly for a year or so and now the same problems are appearing. I lost my contact number for Stephanie and I was wondering if anyone here had it so I could see if I could appeal to the sense of generosity she displayed previously.
    Thanks

Can you tell me what shutting off configure IPv6 is ? I always wonder how that will affect what my computer does...? what does that DO when its ON???
Today it allows you to visit a few test sites around the internet (e.g. http://www.ipvs.apple.com), but nothing other than that. That will eventually change when they truely run out of IPv4 IP addresses, which they have said for years would happen, but not today.  I've had mine turned off for years with no ill effects.
What has changed is that in preparation for the day they have to issue IPv6 addresses to new sites, they established June 6th as Worldwide IPv6 day when ISP's were supposed to turn it on and some have. Most apparently have not or are still in the process of rolling it out which seems to have caused problems for many users over the past couple of weeks. Some of it is probably caused by modems and routers that are not IPv6 savy and must be replaced. Some of it is probably DNS sites that are not capable of interpreting IPv6 addresses. I have not seen a good analysis of what's wrong yet and Apple's troubleshooting guidance is still very thin. I've heard rumors that iTunes wasn't ready, that OS X 10.5.8 can't handle it, that the capability was initially removed from Airport Utility 6.0, etc.  I turned mine all on for a few minutes, and everything slowed to a crawl.
So some day you will need to turn it back on in order to access every site you need, but until then I think it's best to avoid problems until things settle down.
If you want to see how things are going, go to this site http://test-ipv6.com/ with IPv6 on and off and perhaps it will help determine if you're ready or not.

  • Has anyone dealt with either Paypal Advanced or iShop as a payment gateway?

If so, does Business Catalyst has a tutorial or article on either of them? I haven't been able to find one.

    Hey there Chuck,
You can only use one of the payment gateways BC supports which you can see here:

  • TS3899 Has anyone dealt with a lack of a "Reply" toolbar at the bottom of emails on the iPhone 5??

Just bought the iPhone 5. After adding my Yahoo! Mail account and checking my email, I noticed that none of my emails have a "Reply" option toolbar at the bottom of the email screen and I am unable to compose any emails from the mail app.

    Hi there,
You may need to force close the Mail application when this happens. The next time this happens, use the steps in the article below to coles out of the mail application.

  • Has anyone experience with Shared Secrets and Time Machine?

I'm using Shared Secrets password manager. I'm trying to get it from my time machine backups on my new (secondhand though) mac.
But... it shows up as an empty version. I'm dreading having lost all my passwords...
    Has anyone good advice please?

According to the information on this page the required Aircard 580 card is NOT compatible with any version of the Mac OS. Which is really odd since the banner across the top of the page proclaims "wireless, mobile web access for your mac". Perhaps they intend for you to buy a compatible phone and use Bluetooth connectivity to allow the phone to act as a modem for your Mac.
The built-in wireless of your Mac does not allow you to connect directly to cellular networks like BlueMobility.
After some more digging... I found this page which supposedly lists the Mac compatible options.

  • Blu-Ray Creator does not seem to work- has anyone used with success

I just purchased Blu-Ray Creator from the app store and it will not let me backup a hardcopy Blu-Ray disk onto my hard drive. Has anyone bought it and got it to work?

    Hi abhi.p,
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
Yes, it does show the checkbox as checked if I use value="#{true}". However, it is checked permanently, user cannot uncheck it.
That's why I used the bean variable "#{pageFlowScope.fullExpressionEditor.categorySel.selected}".
The variable 'selected' is set to Boolean.TRUE in the bean. But in the UI the checkbox unchecked, strange!!

  • Kingston memory - KVR13LSE9/8 - has anyone used with W520 Quad core?

I have to order my memory for upgrade from a company catalog.  The memory recommended on the Kingston website for the W520 quadcore is not available (TL-TP3B/8G - DDR3, 1333MHz, Non-ECC, CL9, X8, 1.5V, Unbuffered, SODIMM, 204-pin).  However, KVR13LSE9/8 is available and appears to be the right specs (Kingston 8GB ValueRAM - 8GB (1 x 8GB) - DDR3L - 1333MHz (PC3-10666) - ECC - Unbuffered - 240-pin SoDIMM - 1.35V - CL9).  Wondering if anyone has used this memory with their W520 quad core?
    Thanks

Avoid Value RAM, they have a greater chance of not working. If you need cheaper RAM, I can recommend Crucial.

  • Anyone dealt with MS Sharepoint??

I have a probable client interested in a new website. He
mentioned that they use MS Sharepoint, and I've looked at the
    relevant MS web pages.
How much does this affect my ability to do a website in
Dreamweaver? They have a very simple website with minimal content,
    so I don't know why they need such a high-end system. But I don't
want to argue against using it until I understand what their
    rationale might be.
    Any thoughts?

    > Darrell, can you tell me what you see in the site that
    says "sharepoint"
    > to you?
The goofy tab+drop down menu at the top is your standard MOSS
    navigation
    bar.
The navigation on the left is what Sharepoint calls
    'QuickLaunch Menu' and
is the default way to navigate content in a site.
Then on some pages, like this one:
    http://132.198.174.45:82/Pages/Contact_US.aspx
You'll see the 'Content Editor Web Part' title...which says
    that that is a
content editor web part (For some silly reason, they didn't
    bother to hide
the name of it from the page.)
And then if you really want to get scared, look at the
    source. In addition
to tables inside tables inside tables you see lovely class
    names such as
    this:
    ms-topNavFlyOuts zz1_TopNavigationMenu_7

    > SP. But sometimes clients want things their way, no
    matter what.
    Yea.
I think those are the main arguments. For me, I'd say:
    - SharePoint is overkill from an administration and User
    Interface
    standpoint for web content management
    - It's a very inflexible templating system. If you're OK
    with slightly
modified default templates, that will work, otherwise be
    prepared to make a
lot of compromises in the UI, graphic design, and overall
    interaction of the
    site.
    - The code SharePoint produces isn't up to modern standards.
    It still
relies on massive amounts of tables, it's CSS support is
    unintuitive and not
terribly userful for a developer, and a lot of it was built
    without much
consideration for things like accessibility standards.

  • Has anyone integrated with PaymentTech for credit-card processing?

My client would like to capture credit-card payments using PaymentTech payment processor. We are using Oracles Apps 11i. I am aware that AR is integrated with iPayment for credit-card processing. However iPayment uses Cybercash as the payment system and it does not currently support voiceauth (i.e. ability to capture/settle payments based on an authorization not obtained via iPayment).
Has any one done any custom development to integrate directly to PaymentTech (or to a
3rd party application which integrates with PaymentTech)? I would appreciate if you can provide any directions.
    Thanks.

Authorize.net is a supported payment gateway, take a look here - Supported payment gateway providers and here - Authorize.net for the steps to configure it.

  • Has anyone worked with communicating with a Garmin GPS using their protocol?

I need to obtain current position (lat/long/elev) and Waypoint data from a Garmin GPSmap 76CS using the Garmin protocol. Read only, I do not need to write. Any help would be appreciated.

I have attached a series of vis that I use to retrieve the waypoints from a Gecko Garmin gps. I think it should work with a 76CS model, although Garmin has the bad habit to change the data format quite often...
I also have some utilities to convert to UTM coordinates. Ask if you need them.

  • Has anyone worked with the fire text from Thirdmenson?

I have bought this product from him and have been just destroyed trying to use it.
There are literally no instructions with the purchase and I am weak with AE.
Here is the link to his product.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2B5nWpYi2-Y&feature=fvst
Am really hoping there is someone here that has worked on this before or can guide me on how to change my text.
    Thanks, Mike

Yeah, unfortunately I am coming to the same conclusion.
This is the entire response I received for "instructions"
There are two projects: "fire_text_project" and "fire_text_project_plugin". The first once does not require any plugin because one particle effect is pre-rendred. If you have trapcode particular then you can use the second project and modify it.
Finally you can create a realistic fire text in after effects!
It took me a week to do the 3d fire simulation and render out all the 26 letters on fire. This is a very realistic fire thats simulated using advanced 3d software. The video is 621 x 720 px and it is 7 seconds long. All the letters has the color video and the black and white (alpha) video. You can use the alpha matte to create a tranpsarent background for the colored video. That's is how it is done in the two example comps included in the project. You will have to understand that the letters are video so it is not as easy as typing the letters using text tool to edit the text. Open the "1st text  Example comp 1" comp and it has marker that explains in detail on how to edit it.
The two included comps are "Example_comp 1" and "Example_comp 2". These are great examples of what you can do with fire text but the possiblity is endless. You can create many interesting comps with these text on fire. Just to let you know the text that is rendered in 3d app is Arial Black.
Think I am going to have no choice but to simply cancel the sale and look for something else.
    Thanks for all the input.

  • Has anyone worked with Item Numbers when creating a form?

I have two Adobe forms, one for an application fee of $20 and one for an orientation fee of $20. I need to be able to distinguish between the two when in PayPal. I was told by PayPal support that I could add a unique item number when setting up an adobe form which I could then filter on in PayPal to see which $20 came from which form. I can't find an Item Number choice anywhere. Can anyone guide me to the right place?
