Has anyone developed a good set of metrics to collect for TestStand?

If you have do you know of a program that will genereate them?

Hello,
If you are looking for ways to collect data, analyze and display it in graphs, there is an 3rd party program called NWA Quality Analyst that works really well with TestStand.
Using the TestStand Database Logging feature, you can log data to database systems, and allow NWA Quality Analyst to access these DBs to perfom calculations and/or create graphs.
If you need more info about NWA Quality Analyst, please visit: http://www.northwestanalytical.com/

  • Has anyone developed any Elemental I/O libraries for the C6713?

I just set up my TI DSK6713 with Labview's Embedded Module, but have found that there are no Elemental I/O libraries in the package.  In fact, the package seems to lack the level support that it boasts on the website.  Has anyone developed Elemental I/O libraries or know of a good tutorial/book that I could reference when building the library?

    Hi,
The LabVIEW Embedded Development Module contains several example targets. These example targets each contain a subset of the available features in LabVIEW Embedded (such as Elemental I/O). There is a chart in the LabVIEW Embedded Porting Guide that lists the features contained in each of the example targets.
The DSK6713 example target does not contain an implementation of Elemental I/O. The Windows/Unix console targets and the PHYTEC LPC229x target all have an Elemental I/O Implementation that you can base the design of your own custom Elemental I/O on. The Elemental I/O Wizard is used to create new Elemental I/O for custom targets.
I am attaching a snippet of a presentation on Elemental I/O. I recommend using this, the Porting Guide, and myself as resources for more information on creating custom Elemental I/O.

  • Has anyone received a good iPod from Apple online store?

Has anyone received a good iPod from Apple online store yet? (38th week batch without screen issue)

Also got a week 38, came two days ago. Everything, including the LCD displaying black, seems perfect.
I had been holding my breath for the past week. The LCD problem worried me so much that I tried to cancel my preorder to the Apple store. Becuase I had it engraved, I couldn't cancel.
For me, it all seemed to work out.

    Hi G-Money,
The communication will be over TCP-IP.
Thanks for your offer to help.  I don't really need assistance in figuring out how to communicate with the device in LabVIEW at a transport layer.  I'm just trying to take inventory on what's already been done, at a messaging protocol level, that could be useful as a reference or starting point.
    Thanks,

  • Does anyone recommend a good graphic utility to prepare files for the web?

Does anyone recommend a good graphic utility to prepare files for the web?

GraphicConverter as noted by Don, or Photoshop Elements are the favourites. Both will allow comprehensive editing, and save for web facilities including reducing the .jpg quality to shrink file size without making the picture smaller.
There is a free application calld Gimp (open source) but I don't know how good it is or whether it's updated for Lion.

  • Has anyone with Windows successfully set up "Accounts" disk file sharing?

I bought an Airport Extreme basestation (the one with Wifi-N and gigabit ethernet)a few days ago and set it up on the network.
So far the wifi part has been nice - the range and speed (and stability) are a lot better than the Belkin draft-N wifi I had been using.
I've also been able to share a few FAT-32 USB disks (Iomega brand) using the "with device password" option and it seems to work nicely in this mode.
But what I really want to do is setup access by the "with a disk password" and via "accounts" - but after several hours of troubleshooting and checking on the Internet, I get the impression that neither work.
For example, when I am sharing the disks in Device mode, I can connect to the IP from windows explorer and access using any user name and the device password. This works great.
When I set it to "Disk" mode - it doesn't work at all - no matter what user name and password are used. I tried using both the disk and device password. I get a windows error "... is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource..." which is consistent with the user and password authentication failure. I have the same experience when setting the disk sharing for "Account" mode.
Repeated rebooting of the Airport Extreme and Laptop did not help at all. I also tried after killing the Airport utility/assistant that sits in the task bar as it seems useless. The results are the same with the utility activated or not.
    A few more details:
I have the Airport Extreme in 'bridge' mode - the IP is generated by a broadband router connected to a cable modem. I updated the firmware from the 7.2.1 that came installed to the latest (7.3.2).
I read on the Internet a number of posts from both Mac and Windows users reporting bugs in the security software on the airport for filesharing. So my question is - has anyone with a Windows (XP, vista, etc) gotten the file sharing to work with anything other than Device mode? Eg. Disk mode, Account mode, etc?
I know several people that use these devices, but nobody is using in this mode. I talked 2 friends to try setting up users and they couldn't get it to work either. But it's not a big deal to them since they don't use that feature.
If anyone is using it like this, I'd like to know how you set it up. If you had this problem and what you did to fix it. Thanks!

I suspect I may never know why, but now, inexplicably, everything is working.
Out of curiosity, I tried to connect via an older win2000 machine that we use for a file server and it worked!
After we rebooted the other XP machines, they started working too.
I'm sure the fix was anything but connecting a win2000 machine, but I'm just happy it works now!

  • Has anyone developed a site for podcast in Muse?  If so what are the pro's and con's vs. using Wordpress?

have built a few sites in Muse and hope to host my podcast on a dedicated Muse created site.  I use BC for my sites.  Has anyone designed a podcast site in Muse and if so, what are the por's and con's opposed to just doing this with Wordpress and power press plugins?

one-armed is the easiest to install - less disruptive as you can keep your current network unchanged.
However, it requires special configuration to guarantee that the return traffic from the server goes back to the CSM.
This is done by doing client nat which will prevent the servers to see the client ip address and therefore to create statistic based on client ip.
There is a way to inser the client ip in the HTTP header, but it only works for HTTP.
Router-mode is easier to understand and troubleshoot.
The CSM is just like a router with vlans and routing between each of these.
It requires a minimum of configuration.
However, it is important to design correctly.
For example I would recommend not to have client accessing the CSM directly.
They should go through the MSFC first.
Then I would recommend to have only 1 vlan between CSM and MSFC- this is because the CSM only uses 1 default gateway even if you can configure many.
You never know which is active.
The CSM also expect the traffic to come back on the vlan it went out. If you have multiple vlan it is difficult to control on which vlan the response will come back.
Finally 'bridge mode' is good if you want to insert the CSM between the servers and their current default gateway without having to reconfigure the servers.
    This is a good solution.
Disadvantage is that all traffic from servers will go through the CSM and it is more difficult to avoid in case you really need it.
A little more complex to troubleshoot as well.
Conclusion: bridge or routing mode is ok - avoid at all cost one-armed.
    Regards,
    Gilles

  • Has anyone developed a labview program that calibrates thermocouples against a standard please.

  • Has anyone gotten a "Premium Messaging" charge on their bill for "Roundhouse Management Alerts"?

I was looking at my most recent bill and noticed that there was a $9.99 charge on one of our lines for "Premium Messaging."  I pulled up last month's bill and the noticed that the charge was there as well.  I called Verizon and asked the customer rep what this was for.  She said it was for something called "Roundhouse Management Alerts" but she had no idea what this was.  I told her we did not subscribe to any such service and she acknowledged that it was possible someone could have signed the line up for the alert without our knowledge.
Verizon handled this immediately to my satisfaction.  The customer service representative took the charge off our new bill and credited our account for the previous month's charge that had already been paid.  Nevertheless, it's kind of frightening that Verizon might process a charge from some outside vendor without verifying that the charge was legitimate.  We have multiple lines and its just lucky that I noticed this charge appearing when I did.
Has anyone else run into this?

I too just discovered a Permium Messaging charge on my husbands line. It had something to do with Facebook, MySpace & Twitter updates. My husband doesn't use any of these social websites! Customer servce was kind enough to remove the charge & give me a number to text so we could opt-out. A block for Premium Messaging has been put on both our lines!
I'm so glad to hear that others have been able to have these charges removed as well.
Thanks Verizon for the great customer service!!

  • RAM: Has anyone else had good luck with Corsair?

First of all, thanks Bas and Scottg26 for pointing out the correct version of Memtest86+.
I know that Corsair has a crappy rep around this forum when it comes to the Athlon 64.  However, I've had nothing but good luck so far (knock on wood).  I've been up and running for almost a month now with no BSODs and the computer has booted every time so far.  I'm using Corsair TwinX 1024 LL in slots 1 and 2 with the speed settings on Auto in the BIOS with a voltage of 2.6.  I've run Prime95 for up to 10 hours or so with no errors and I just ran one pass of Memtest86+ v1.00 with no errors.  It took 18:50 and showed the following settings:
    Memory: 1024M  1447MB/S
    Settings: RAM: 200Mhz(DDR 400) / CAS:2-3-2-6 / Single Channel (64 Bits)
However, I will point out that the only real world test it's really passed so far is playing Call of Duty.
Here's a link to the actual RAM on NewEgg:  http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-145-435&catalog=147&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1
Is anyone else happy with their Corsair RAM so far or did I just get extremely lucky?

Yeah They are neat at that. Question is how well do they overclock?
I'm getting a 28Mhz fsb overclock out of these dimms that I have and They are used I admit, But like the seller said they are great overclockers!

  • Has anyone been able to set up email for other services? I would like to link to a GoDaddy account. Have all the information but can't get it to work.

I have entered the information from GoDaddy under manual setup and the mail app tells me it cannot connect to the server. It does connect to a gmail account, but that is not helpful. I was wondering if anyone has tried linking to GoDaddy or other account manually and what additional steps it takes.

Actually, I was able to connect to an IMAP account from (German mail provider) posteo.de without problems. Not so with FastMail.fm, which is a much bigger service provider than posteo.de, and also pretty much IMAP standard compliant.
Are there different IMAP configurations (all folders on the same level vs. all folders as subfolders of INBOX) that can influence this? And what can be done to connect FastMail to Firefox OS?

  • Jdev11g: Has anyone developed a multi -langual application successfully?

    Hi,
In our application the user can change the language of the application by selecting it from as drop-down-list.
This works fine if we run the application with embedded WLS.
But running it on external WLS the language switch does not have any effect.
We have already filled bug 7588599 for this issue which is also reproduceable from Oracle Support.
At the moment I do not know a workaround.
I can't believe that there is nobody out there who has already been successfull with a multi-langual application on external WLS?
I hope to find a workaround in this forum to avoid waiting for backport patch.
    regards
    Peter

    repost

    Hi,
    problem is solved!
    Excerpt from the SR:
Development did find the cause of the problem. The framework does lookup the language files in a specific format. That is the language must be in lower case and not in uppercase. In this case the file system is case insensitive since it is windows, so the exploded app just happened to work since it was finding the file on the file system. When deploying the application the file is being looked up by the jar/zip-finder which is working case-sensitive and thus it cannot find the file "startBundle_en.properties".
The application should name the resource files exactly how they will be looked up by the application and by the ResourceBundleManagerRT.
Rename the file "startBundle_EN.properties" into "startBundle_en.properties".
    regards
    Peter

  • Has anyone managed to successfully set up VPN to work on BT hotspots?

    Hi all
I wanted to connect via VPN at BT hotspots.  BT recommend using a Cisco client (which you can download if connected to one of their "premium hotspots") but this isn't compatible with OSX 10.7 (you get Error 51: can't connect).  There is loads of (too much) stuff written on google about this problem, but I wonder whether anyone out there has managed to successfully configure the built in OSX VPN client to work with BT?  BT of course abdicate all responsibility for this...
    Many thanks,
    Dave
