Has anyone done any control of an ABB robot with labview and robotstudio?

I am busy with a piece of test equipment where I need to read data from and send position commands to a ABB robot. This robot uses their new IRC5 controller. I have got their OPC server but I am having difficulty in getting it to respond to the commands I am sending via OPC. I was hoping someone has done this before and can perhaps assist me in getting going.

Hi,
I'm trying the solution like your, but communication with  ABB.Robotics.Controllers.dll (. NET) and convert between C# to LabVIEW,
it was success but i'm not fisnish yet to send position or command to the controller because some class not a public constructors.
any update please let me know.
Thank you.

I have been testing the version 2008.2 and noticed the "Form" link in the email templates, has anyone used this or know what its for?
It seems like a useful feature, but I can not find any documentation on its use.
    Thank you

    Hi Daniel,
The HTML widget we have incorporated into the application is an open source tool. It's name is FCKeditor. Here is the URL for the documentation site: http://docs.fckeditor.net/

In a roaming network, your "main" router is the device that would require port mapping/forwarding to be configured in order to access the IP camera from the Internet. This router is also the one that would be provide the private IP address for the camera which you will want to be a static one.
So as you described your network, the IP cameras should be getting an IP address or you assigned it a static one and this is the address that you would enter in the Private IP address (or equivalent depending on the router used) field when setting up port mapping.
If you are not able to access this camera from the local network, then this should be troubleshot first.

the black iphones are being damaged at the Foxconn factory. Apple is aware and is replacing the damaged/scuffed/chipped/scratched devices.
but if i were you id hurry. there was a riot involving 2,000 Foxconn workers this morning, and the iphone assembly lines were damaged, and the factory shutdown as a result of the damage.

  • Cairngorm 3. Has anyone done any videos?

I found David Tuckers videos really helpful for getting to grips with Cairngorm 2.
By comparison, I've found the Cairngorm 3 documentation/guidelines hard to reconcile to the code, and it's harder to wrap your head around how all the pieces are working together. I'd particularly like to a good example discussed, involving the dependency injection ActionScript frameworks of Parsley and Robotlegs.
I'd also like to see something with Pimento (the ORM bridge between Flex & Hibernate).
Are there any comparable videos to the David Tucker ones some one can point me to?
I later found an answer to part of this question...
Piotr Walczyszyn (http://www.riaspace.net/) did an awesome job on Adobe Video demostrating various DI frameworks, and architectural design patterns over on Adobe TV as part of the Max 2010 Developer series. I highly recommend this to anyone.
He compares Mate, Parsley, Robotlegs, SpringActionScript and Swiz.
You can find the code on Github.
Just have to find something with Parsley now! :-)

  • Has anyone done any work in Labview with a Hund enviromental monitoring unit?

The data cable from the unit connects to a dongle that is plugged into the parallel port of the computer. The only software that work with dongle in place is the manufacturer's software, which is not adequate. I would like to create a VI using Labview to monitor the measurements taken by the unit.

Wow. You are in a tough spot. I could not find anything on our site that mentions Hund. Since the manufacturer is using a dongle, I would be surprised if they would reveal how to communicate with the instrument. If we had that information, we could do the communication in LabVIEW.
If the software program reveals some of its properties and methods using ActiveX, you can have LabVIEW use the software that controls the device. It is a long shot.

  • Has anyone done this before? (using Win32 dll with Java)

I was wondering if anyone has succesfully completely embedded a Win32 DLL and having it launched in a Java backend using JNI? It would seem that WinMain() would be the barrier to doing this. I'm talking about containing the entire frontend inside a DLL and having it launched using a Java backend.

    1. As far as I know, dll's don't have winmains.
    2. Your wording is rather imprecise; how about getting rid of "frontend"and "backend", and asking your question again?
(The JNI features of java allow either C or java to be the "main program; C can call java, and java can call C.)

  • I'm trying to connect a Sony wireless keyboard and can't figure out how to get the iPad 2 to discover it.  Has anyone had any luck using a non-Apple wireless keyboard and mouse?

Apple tech so far hasn't helped except to advise me to get manuals online that Sony doesn't post on its website.  I've sent off an inquiry to Sony but don't expect an answer.  Apple assumes my devices are bluetooth but the iPad2 hasn't figured out how to discover them, and I don't know how to make them discoverable.  I'd like to have the option to use them but so far haven't been able to figure out how.

    Heidi-
On the iPad, go to Settings-General-Bluetooth.  Set Bluetooth to ON and a new window appears while the iPad searches for Bluetooth devices.
To get the keyboard into a discoverable mode, you may need to remove its batteries for a while.  If it is not possible to get it to appear on the iPad, could the keyboard be defective?  Can it be discovered by other computers?

  • Has anyone gotten any version of SDE to work with 9i spatial?

The subject line says it all.
    Thanx in advance,

SDE release 8.1.1 does not support 9i. I was told by ESRI that they would have to come out with a new version to support 9i.

  • I am trying to generate a 50kHz sine wave for ten cycles, then aquire this waveform and store it in a file, I am using a PCI-Mio 16E-4 board, has anyone done anything like this?

I am trying to generate a 50kHz sine wave output on the DAQ card and then simultaneously recieve. I am using a PCI-Mio 16E-4 series board to do this. Has anyone done anything similar. I can generate a 50k wave no problem, and recieve one, but I can not get these vis to run together? Any suggestiosn

Jrod, yes you should be able to do this, actually there are quite a few example programs come with LabVIEW that handles simultaneous analog input and output, I check the specs of the board you use, the board should be able to handle the sampling/generation rate, but make sure for 50KHz sine wave, you would sample at least twice as fast, preferably ten times the generation rate, then this puts the sampling of the board to thew limit.
The program you can try is attached here, good luck with the application,

  • Has anyone else had difficulty using WPA2 Internet sharing with their Apple TV? Any solutions?

    Hi.
I've seen references to this on here, but no solutions.
I use my 27" 2010 iMac to share Internet in my home, latest versions of OSX and iOS.. Works fine, sharing with iPhones, an iPad and my Apple TV 2.
Recently though, I changed to WPA2, and the Apple TV can't see Home Sharing is on. If I switch security (ie WPA2) off, then it can see it again.
So has anyone found a way to use WPA2 successfully with their Apple TV?
    Thanks in advance.

    I’d suggest uninstalling:
    Blackberry software
    the cycling74 driver
Any HP “utilities” (regarding the HP IO. Apple told developers to stop using Startup Items back in 10.3.)
any Adobe software you have (the “not loaded” ones are not loading because they’re incompatible.
    the com.apple.CSConfig one.
    facebook
    google keystone agent
Unfortunately you have a lot of very questionable old, incompatible, and probably bad software on your Mac that is not playing well with Mavericks.  Some of these can be difficult to uninstall, particularly if you are not familiar with poking around in Mac system folders.
You might consider cutting to the chase and doing a clean install:
backup your documents and passwords, network settings, etc.
    Completely erase your hard drive
Reinstall mavericks and your apps from scratch (not from backups)
    and finally replacing your documents.
It can be a good thing. Spring cleaning. If you want to go this route, let me know, I can give you some more detailed suggestions for how to do it. The advantage is you can get Mavericks running really fast and reliably, and then be more selective about what you reinstall. A lot of the stuff you have on there is probably from apps you don't even use anymore (like for your Blackberry), or that really aren't necessary.

  • Has anyone done a full install of Win7 RC1 onto a PC built in 2006 or earlier?

I'm thinking of putting RC1 onto a Presario Desktop PC that came with XP and was built in 2006.
Has anyone done a full install of Win7 RC1 onto a PC that originally came with XP (built in 2006 or earlier)? I'm curious what the experience was like.
    Was it easy/hard?
Did 7 catch all the basic drivers?
What drivers did you have to go looking for - if any?
    Thanks for the help.

Please post rather than send me a Message. It's good for the community and I might not be able to get back quickly. - Thank you.

I've loaded Win7 RC1 on a HP dv8000 notebook that was built in mid-2006.  It seems to have gone ok except for the sound board problem.  There is effectively no sound.  If you turn the volume all the way up, you get very very low sound.
I had this problem when I moved from the original operating system XP to Vista, but I can't recall the solution and haven't been able to find a working driver yet.
