Has anyone else had problems since the latest itunes/ipod update?

since i got my ipod and itunes updated, ive had nothing but problems with my ipod. sometimes it freezes, and when i connect it to the computer its all of a sudden corrupted. Sometimes this happens when i connect it to my computer to charge, and gets stuck on the do not disconnect screen. Sometimes ill be listening to music or watching something on my ipod and itll turn off randomly for no reason, then the apple symbol will come on as if i turned the ipod on again. Right now my ipod is frozen on the do not disconnect screen, and i have no choice but to restore it, however it wont even show up on itunes when its frozen sometimes, like right now. Has anyone else had problems since the latest ipod update?

Now I'm stuck with a 300 bucks mp3 jalopy.
My big question here is :
why aren't we hearing from apple? why aren't they saying something like "yeah we messed things up but be patient. we are trying our best to fix it..." ?
I was thinking to buy the macbook pro but now I'm afraid of the day things will get messy with that too.

Has anyone else had problems with the latest system updates to Mac OS X v10.6.8 with the java virus patch?

After installing the latest updates to Snow Leopard the system hangs up and will not open properly. This is the update to Java, etc after the virus was discovered. I have done the updates on four different systems with the same result.

No problems with the Java update here, although I have Java disabled. Might try reapplying the Java standalone while in Safe Boot (Shift at startup chime), if you did it from Software Update.

Has anyone else had problems with the recent iMovie update?

I installed the latest iMovie, iWeb, iDVD, QT, and Security update this morning. I restarted and opened an iMovie project and it crashed three times within about 10 minutes. All I was doing was editing some audio clips on the timeline, I wasn't even rendering anything.
Just wondered if anyone else has had any problems since the update?

I had a similar problem. After i extracted the audio track from a clip (so i can edit it down for a drop zone in iDVD) iMovie aborted and i couldn't get it to run correctly with that video again. Each time i tried to open it, iMovie would hang with the startup dialog saying there was less than a minute left to load the video.
I trashed the video and pulled up my backup from my outboard drive (tedious; >.5hr over USB 2), i'm going to try again.
I have QT Pro also (i upgraded for the file conversion features, mostly).

Both of you have registered the same email address for iMessage. If you were using a shared Apple ID and you updated your phones to iOS5, the default will be the Apple ID. Go into settings and change it.

I bought a Canon Pixma yesterday, and I have had problems setting the printer up as one I don't have a cd drive- so I had to download the software- and two my laptop does't seem to recognise the printer wirelessly. It is fine when I stick the USB cable in. I contacted apple to see if it was a software issue, they helped by getting a couple of things up- then I followed the guide from canon on how to install the printer and and connect to WPS but it just doesn't seem to like my mac. Help I'm at my wits end!

I spoke to Apple Technical Support who tell me that I'm the only one with a problem! I told them I had seen others on here talking about problems and they informed me that they have 30 million customers (or something) and only about 30 on the forums - hence it's not really a problem!
Apparently I am the ONLY person who has spoken to Technical Support to inform them of a problem. So in the interests of sharing this knowledge, can I ask anyone else with a problem to please ring Apple Technical Support and let them know.

It's basically that my bookmarks have vanished and the screen is so wide that all I can see is a blank white screen. If I click on the grey bar across the top in order to move the window around, I can see that if I move it far enough to the left, then the page content is actually there - it's just that it's about 4 or 5 screen widths to the right of my visible screen (if you see what I mean).
I spoke to Apple support and they said I am the only one with a problem, and said I need to reload the original start up disc. We tried to do that but it hasn't made any difference. I am furious with Apple for this - they tried to say it was just like if a car went wrong and I had to take it to a garage - but that's a poor analogy because they sent me the download. I didn't ask for it, they sent it, so I feel they should take some responsibility.
Sorry for ranting, I am just so angry at their attitude. I expect better than this from Apple. To be honest, this is the kind of treatment I expect from microsoft.

Has anyone else had problems with the lack of sensitivity with the screen? The outter edges doesn't work some times, it's very annoying and I'm curious if it's just a defect with my phone or a wide spread issue.

Mine's fine.
Do the basic troubleshooting steps: restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If those don't work, bring the phone to Apple for replacement. And if you put a screen protector on, take it off and see if that solves the problem.

HT2801 Has anyone else had problems with the dvd player in pre unibody macbook pros?

My 2007 macbook pro has a skrewed up dvd drive. It doesn't seem to matter if the dvd is brand new or badly scratched: iDVD takes several minutes to pop up and several more to recognise that there is a disc present and several more to start reading it. Half the time the drive just spins the dvd around really fast and makes a lot of noise and gets the fans maxed out and then stalls and eventually decides to give up. After giving up on playing the disc it usually has a hard time deciding whether or not to eject the disc! I don't know if its just burnt out and needing replacing or if there is an inherent flaw in the manufacture/design of the drive. Either way it really irritating.

SuperDrives wear out - it seems that yours might be on the verge of a mechanical failure. I'd just replace it, buying a new drive from Other World Computing and installing it yourself (because Apple would charge a small fortune).

My iPhone has been running hot sinced I upgraded to iOS7. Today, it rattled through more than 50% of its power while I was sending a text message, became so hot that I couldn't hold it, switched to temperature protection mode and then shut down completely. It is now blank.

i can not sync my iphone 4s to my windows contacts. i am using windows 7

hi ya . it wouldnt put my contacts into my windows contacts folder. a iphone 4 would but a 4s doesnt. took it to apple store and they know sod all there and was a waste of time. sorted it myself, you have to turn off icloud and turn off contacts syncing in the i cloud setting then it does it

Hi, now I own a iPhone 4S, and have noticed that it takes extremely horrible pictures and video.
The focus is only decent on the right half of the photo and is extremely blurry on the left hand side.

Has anyone else had trouble installing the new Apple TV update?

I have tried several time to install the new software for my Apple TV, but each time I am getting a message saying the intall was unsuccessful. I have 2 and it installed on the older Apple TV (non-HD version) but the newer set will not install the update.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.
If when you choose restore you get a message that the device cannot be found, download the file below
Apple TV Software Restore 5.1.1 (2nd generation)
Then hold down the option key while choosing restore and select the downloaded file when prompted.
If you have the Apple TV 3, use the following file.
Apple TV Software Restore 5.1.1 (3rd generation)
