Has anyone else noticed how much faster the Internet is on this phone?

This phones Internet is blazing compared to my 3GS. Was this something that was supposed to be expected or am I just imagining things because it loads pages probably twice as fast. I find myself on this thing now more than my laptop!!
Sorry if I am ******* anyone off with my praise towards Apple, changing the tone for what usually is being said on the Discussion board

No, you're absolutely right. I've been noticing the speed difference on my new iPhone 4 compared to my friends iPhone 3GS. Steve Jobs mentioned during the WWDC keynote that the new iPhone 4 sports the new 3G radios that support higher download and upload speeds.
AT&T has been ramping up speeds and improving their network during the last year. It's noticeably faster on my iPhone 4. I've been running some speed tests at random, and i've hit as high as 4Mbit download and 2.3 Mbit upload speeds. Quite impressive!

  • Has anyone else noticed that on CC the pentool does not allow you to create an open path? When I try to make two open paths(eg; two separate lines), the pentool connects them automatically. Also it does not automatically close a path. This is both a probl

This is a big headache having the pentool respond this way. Does anyone else have this problem? I have also installed CC 2014 on my home computer and have the same problem. so it seems to be a problem with the program.

    Hi Doug,
I'm sure I did not notice a difference in Esc key behavior simply because I have never tried to use the Esc key to stop the Pen Tool from picking up the current path.
I just tested with all these versions of Photoshop:  6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS6, CC 14.x, and CC (2014) on my PC workstation running Windows 8.1.
    Observations:
Photoshop versions 6.0, CS5, and CS6 DO terminate the creation of the current path at the current point upon pressing the Esc key. However, Photoshop versions CS2, CS3, CS4, CC 14.x, and CC (2014). do not terminate the creation of the path upon pressing Esc, and will continue the path with another pen click.  Photoshop CC 14.x and CC (2014) may make it SEEM like the path creation is terminated because they hide the points, but the next click continues the path and causes all the points to reappear.
In every case holding the control key down (to temporarily choose the Direct Selection Tool) and clicking off the current path terminates the creation with an open path and allows the creation of another separate path.
No version closes the path (made the path into a closed shape) upon pressing Esc.  The only way I know to close a path is to bring the cursor back to the starting point, watch for a little o to appear next to the cursor, then click the mouse.
With Photoshop 6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, and CS5 the response of the Pen Tool was instantaneous.  There was a definite slowdown / sluggishness in Photoshop CS6 and CC 14.x, which is now corrected in Photoshop CC (2014), which is again instantly responsive.
The only other thing I can think of regarding closing a path might be that when using the Pen Tool there are choices in the Options Bar about whether you're creating a shape or a path.  Are you ensuring you have that set the same way as you have had it set in the past?

  • Has anyone else noticed how slow iTunes has been to browse music previews?

This has been going on for a handfull of days so far. Kind of reminds me of the after Christmas rush of 06. Does anyone think that this has anything to do with the iPhone factor and an overload of new customers for the servers to deal with? I would like someone OTHER than the "gatekeepers" of this forum to chime in with feedback. Come on. Let's hear it. What's up?

It's been a bit slow all-around for me. It could be iPhone related. I'd give it a bit and it should hopefully be back to normal. I do get rushes of time where it's speedy, so they're obviously working on stuff.

  • Has anyone else noticed how selection is bugged in 5.1

Hey - I wish there was a warning that adding a new product did not return to a draft message!
    OK - entering it again!
IOS 5.1 has introduced bugs connected with '-- ' in front of a mail sig.
If one clisks a blank line above, and 'select' there is no select popup.   It is OK if onne types a single letter first.
Secondly, if one presses enter at the end of the line immediately above the '-- ', then the cursor jumps to the end of the sig.
The same happens  with Iphone 5.1.  It seems one cannot tag two products!

Hard as I thought I had explained it (8-)#
In 5.0.1, one could select from a blank line.  However now the select bar simply does not appear, unless there is a character on the line.  This is only when there is a '-- ' above a sig I think.
This '-- ' also causes a return above to jump right over the sig, rather than inserting a blank line.

  • Has anyone else noticed an issue with the new mail icon on the lock screen?

After updating to iOS 8 there is a new mail icon on the lock screen. When I slide it up I get this message:
"Failed to continue activity- the connection to your other device may have been interrupted- Please try again"
After trying again and again I get the same message and I do not have the "other device" that it mentions. I'm not sure what is going on, does anyone have any ideas?

Nope, have not seen this issue or have this issue myself.  Try going into Settings and toggling off that email account, toggle back on and then send a test email to yourself.  If it still persists, delete the email account and re-add and try again.

  • Has anyone else noticed how buggy and unreliable Safari has become?

I could barely even submit this question from within Safari, without reopening the page in  a fresh tab. What is going on there? It seems Apple is starting to abandon it's high standards for this Web Browser.
I should add, that I have two completely different Apple Computers, and this poor experience is exhibited across both of them.

Complaining without seeking a solution is not really going to get you anywhere.
But to answer your question, no problems with Safari and I have never had.

  • HT1222 Has anyone else noticed much greater battery consumption since iOS 5.1.1 update for iPhone?

Since iOS 5.1.1 update has anyone else noticed a much greater battery consumption on all fronts? My phone used to rock steady all day and know is around 47%  12 noon to 1 pm with the same amount of usage.

Heres a support question... how the **** do I fix the dramatic battery drain problem that came about after installing 5.1.1?  Suggestions for fixing problems on iTunes did not work.

  • I've noticed that when wearing headphones the sound is much louder in the right headphone than the left one. This wasn't a problem before.  Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix if so?

I've noticed that when wearing headphones the sound is much louder in the right headphone than the left one. This wasn't a problem before.  Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix if so?

    Did you try different headphones!?
If it's sounding the same thing on different headphones then you might have changed the Left-Right balance
Have a look at Settings -> General -> Accessibility
    There's a slider for L-R
If it's in the center then the headphone through which you're facing the problem might be damaged, try twisting the headphone wire of the speaker of the headphone (left or right) where you are encountering less volume.
If it's sounding altogether same on all the circumstances, the headphone jack might be damaged. Get your phone to the Apple Store and book an appointment
Try these steps and it will solve your question

Just for those who are interested, this is what cleared the "bookmark menu"  trbl I had.
    Open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Bookmarks, then reselect it.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a bookmark again.

  • Has anyone else noticed that the iOS 6 Maps App is missing the area code for many places it has listed?

If I try to look up a local business on the Maps App it drops a pin on all of the locations matching my search parameters. However, when I get details about a dropped pin, the phone number is usually missing the area code! For example, if the phone number is +1 (123) 555-5555 it would show up as +1 (555) 555-5. This makes it impossible to call directly from the maps app or to copy and paste infront of a manually entered area code (because of the '+1'). Has anyone else noticed this?

Have you checked to make sure that your region settings are correct?
    Settings>General>International>Region Format

  • In FF29.0 bookmarks on the menu bar stop working correctly after exiting 'Customize': has anyone else noticed this?

Shortly after installing FF29.0 I noticed that the bookmarks menu from the 'Menu Bar' - NOT the new one that appears on the right of the screen - was not working correctly: specifically, when right-clicking on a bookmark to look for 'Open in a New tab' all the options were greyed out and I now realize that this occurs after exiting the 'Customize' screen, which effect I have consistently duplicated several times now; to restore functionality I have on each occasion had to close and re-open Firefox. This error does not appear to occur with the new bookmark menu that is associated with the bookmark icon at the top right of the screen. Has anyone else noticed this error?
(Personally, I prefer the bookmark menu from the menu bar, which incidentally I find easier to read than the new one and I like menu bars anyway.)
    Many thanks.

Thank you for your input. If you have more input on the new features please check out [input.mozilla.org]
The bookmar bar is still available with the add on bar add on. Check it out in [addons.mozilla.com]

  • Has anyone else noticed this bug with multitasking gestures on iOS 5?

I recently updated my iPad 2 to iOS 5 and have just noticed this bug with multitasking gestures.
If you're currently in an app and use the four-finger swipe up to open the app switcher, and then subsequently close another app that's open in the background from the switcher, the app doesn't seem to fully close.  What I mean is that if you now use the four-finger swipe right/left to switch apps, when you get to the place where that app you closed was, it's still open, and after you view it, it pops back into the app switcher.  It seems like the multitasking gestures feature isn't recognizing that you've closed the app and that it should skip it from now on.
If you do the above steps again, but this time after you close the app from the switcher, use the five-finger pinch to go back to the home screen, it seems to clear the "cache" being used by the the gestures feature.  Now if you go back into any app and swipe left to right, the closed app won't load up anymore (which is how it should correctly work).
Has anyone else noticed this, or can anyone else reproduce the bug as I described?  I'd appreciate it if an Apple employee could confirm that this is a bug in iOS 5 and not just something wrong on my end.  Thanks in advance.

After the time spent and attention to detail in replicating this fault, I do think that you should email your findings to Nokia Care to be found on:
    http://www.nokia.co.uk/A4222231
This is after all a discussion forum and others may find the same bug, but until it is logged at Nokia there is little chance of future modification if required!
Done already. They may of course have corrected this in the 11.x firmware currently being rolled out but as I don't yet have access to it I can't say.

  • App store doesn't show Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 as purchased and will resell it to me has anyone else noticed this?

The Apple app store doesn't show Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 as purchased and will resell it to me. I bought this computer (early 2011 macbook pro 17 in) new in oct 2011 it came with Lion installed has anyone else noticed this?

Barney,I did as you suggested and emailed app store support qutioning why the app store didn't recognize my OS LION software as purchased even though all of the iLife apps that came bundled with it are recognized as PURCHASED and here was the email response from robert@ the app store....< I understand that you are trying to re-install the OS X Lion as you had a Hard Drive crash but it is not showing as purchased from your Mac App Store purchase pane.
As the Mac OS X Lion was pre-installed to your computer , it will not be recognized as purchased in the Mac App Store, and because of that it is not available fro re-download for free. Also, computers that come preinstalled with Lion do not ship with the disk.
Dana, not worry as OS X Lion has a self recovery feature.

  • Has anyone else noticed that Adobe Camera Raw 7.x exhibits odd behavior compared to version 6.x?

I have found no discussion of this subject on Adobe's forums, so I am asking here. I find that Adobe Camera Raw 7.x's "auto" mode frequently produces overexposed images with lots of blowouts necessitating much more manual tweaking than was required with the older 6.x series of plug-ins. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?
