Has anyone ever done a Pluggable Data Source (PDS) with BC4J

Has anyone ever done a Pluggable Data Source (PDS) based on BC4J. We already have the data stored in a resultset and would like to be able to have Oracle Reports re-use it. Any ideas?
tks,

Hi Metthew
BC4J pds is in the pipeline and will be soon out on the Oracle Reports plugin exchange.
Thanks

  • Barton Heatsink, has anyone ever done this???

I had gone through about three HSF units and still could not get my 2500+ barton to run under 55C when OC to xp 3000+ (200 x 10.5) I had three case fans tried HSF's with 5000 rpm fans etc artic silver etc, etc,........last heatsink i bought was a falcon rock II by spire,,, it has an 80mm fan on the HS, for grins today I added a second 80 mm fan on top of the other, each fan has a rating of around 30cfm I started running them simultaneously today and my temps have never gotten above, 47C under load???
Hopefully I've had my case apart for the last time for a while now
    MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR
athlon xp 2500+ OC to 3000+

    Back to two fans
My machine was overheating at high loads so I took the side panel off and bolted a 3" 120 VAC  fan about 2" from the top of the heat sink fan (second fan blowing on the CPU fan). This was against the advice of my dealer who said the fan should blow air out  of the case but it dropped my working temp from 60 deg C to 38 deg C
It was effective but it looked too crude so I bought a new side panel with a cheap plastic fan. The fan is a little offset from the heat sink and further away. I get 40C or 41C after 2 hours of Prime95 Torture Test.  This is with a stock heatsink and fan. I tried the bigger HS that comes with the 2600+ Bartons and it dropped my temp to 39C under full load. Didn't seem worth it so I put the stock 2500+ heat sink back on.
One thing to note, the system worked best with a gap between the fans and my new Flower Power 2-fan power supply actually made things worse (1-2C hotter). I suspect that the downward air flow from the power supply disrupts the air stream from the case fan.

  • Any Tech Geeks out there ever done a DIY data recovery from a trashed drive

    Hi,
I have a iMac G5 that went belly up about three weeks ago. The problem was undoubtedly the hard drive, which was totally missing even when I used third party recovery programs like Diskwarrior and Data Recovery. I pulled the drive and replaced it. BUT, now I am desperate to get things off the dead drive. I DID back up, but my delightful 2 year old "ate" my back up disks and they are beyond repair.
    sigh
I simply don't have $300 to pay for professional data recovery and the missing data has sentimental value, but not much beyond that. I can't justify a price tag of $300 for old pictures and word documents.
Anyone ever done a DIY data recovery and can share the details with me??
I suspect the drive is physically damaged because it makes the ugliest noises when you try to power it up.
    Tricia

You can purchase data recovery software such as Data Rescue II or File Salvage ( VersionTracker or MacUpdate ) and attempt to recover the files.
In order for recovery software to work the drive must be physically accessible and connected to your computer. Because you've removed it you would need an external enclosure for the drive (Firewire or USB.) However, if the drive is non-functional (won't run) then recovery software will not help.

  • Has anyone ever ran Logic using VMWare Workstation on a Windows PC?

Has anyone ever emulated Mac OS X and used Logic on their x86 Microsoft Windows systems? I was thinking about doing this to use some synths and stuff with some Windows designed software. I'm not sure if it is possible to use both operating systems at the same time with VMWare Workstation operating system emulator. Help me out guys. Has anyone ever done it? Can it be done?

VMWare Workstation will not run the client version of Mac OS X in emulation, and likely won't run Mac OS X Server either.

  • Has anyone ever implemented Nuclear Fuel Management in SAP?

We have a utility client looking to implement Nuclear Fuel Management in SAP ECC 6.0. Any hints on which module would be the best fit? Has anyone ever done this before?

    Hi Ketan,
I am working on Power project for generation of Electricity (Utility project)
Nuclear fuel will be also similar project.
There will be FI CO, MM, PS, PM modules mainly. Also PP module depending on how you map it.
If lot of report needs to be generated can think of BI module also.

  • Has anyone ever experienced the situation where plugging in the USB connector to the charging source (high-power USB port or Apple charger) halfway, then pressing it in firmly, results in the iPad not charging?

Has anyone ever experienced the situation where plugging in the USB connector to the charging source (high-power USB port or Apple charger) halfway, then pressing it in firmly, results in the iPad not charging?

It's highly likely that there is a poor connection in the phone - either a pin in the dock connector or internal wiring harness.  No software fixes or "tricks" would work, but I would recommend restoring in iTunes, first using a backup and if needed restore as a new phone.
Otherwise, opening and repairing the phone takes some tech knowledge that can't be relayed here.  Apple doesn't repair phones other than replacing batteries (not inconceivable that you have a bad battery), but offers "out-of-warranty" replacement (refurb) phones for $149 (US).  3rd party iPhone repair centers may be able to fix it for less.  Google to find them,
    Tried soft and hard resets
FYI, there's no such thing as "soft" or "hard" resets in iPhone terminology.  There is only one phone reset. You'll see those terms thrown around by technically ignorant posters, but they mean different things to different people and are actually archaic, 1980s PC terms that have nothing to do with iPhones.

  • Failed to fetch pluggable data source error

I'm getting this error when creating a report that is connecting to a DB2 table using jdbc. Report builder seems to connect to the database fine, however when I attempt to compile/run the report I get the following error -

Has anyone experienced this issue or has some insight as to what I need to do to resolve this?

    Dear Oracle Reports Team,
Can you please help me out ???
Need your help in this regard urgently.

    Dear Friends,
I am encountering the following the error while running the reports.
REP-4102: Failed to fetch pluggable data source.
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: 75,000000
I am using an Express Query in this case.
The same report runs perfectly when connected to the NT server that has the reports server,Http server and the rdf file. The db that the reports uses is on the SOLARIS server.
But when I use the reports server, http server and the rdf file avaiable to me on the SOLARIS server with the db also now on the same machine it does not run and gives the error.
What could be the problem ?
Just to add more clarity below is the URL which I use to display the report
    NT URL(This works perfectly)

  • Using Web Service as Data source (Pluggable Data Source) in Oracle Reports

Anyone using Webservice as a pluggable data source in oracle 10g reports.(Report builder version:10.1.2.0.2)? We need to be able to use web service as one of the data source to create reports.Tried the following and ran into issues:
Imported the wspds.jar fle from oracle plugin exchage. When tried using it received the following error in oracle reports trace file.
    04/26 22:27:22 java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDBuilder.build([Loracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLDocument;Ljava/net/URL;)Ljava/lang/Object;
By troubleshooting issue found out that xmlparserv2.jar in 10g is newer than xmlparserv2.jar in 9i. wspds.jar is using xmlparserv2.jar in 9i as it was developed and tested for 9i only. Believe there is no newer wspds.jar file developed specifically for 10g?
Is there a better/standard solution to use webservice as data source in oracle 10g reports? Does later version of oracle reports supports webservice as a data source without any additional plugins? Any suggestion would be helpful.

Please provide support for the above request.
It appears that Oracle 10g reports doesn't support Web Service as pluggable data source. Is this option is available in Oracle 11g Reports or Oracle Discoverer Or OBIEE?

  • Has anyone ever seen this error

We just launched a vaccation tracking app with a coldfusion
front end and an access 97 backend (dont ask). The app was tested
for over a month and passed all tests. However we never tested for
volume, or amount of users hitting the app. On the backend, we have
an access table linked to a text file. Again, this tested out
perfectly over the past month. This morning after release to the
entire company of about 2,000 people, users began reporting this
    error:
The text file specification 'EmployeeList Link
Specification6' does not exist. You cannot import, export, or link
    using the specification.
Some users logged in to the app successfully and some
recieved this error. For those that recieved the error, we had them
back out and re-login and then the app worked just fine.
Has anyone ever seen this or have a guess as to what is going
    on?

    Hi,
The right way would be to use a "real" database server.
But you can test if db-caching can improve the issue.
With each <cfquery> you can set a cachedwithin
parameter. Using that should allow you to query the Access db once,
and then have CF keep the query results in memory (for the DB as
    well as the text-file).
You could query the complete database with no filtering this
way, and then filter the data using QueryofQuery to output only
    records for specific users/groups/regions.
You also need to make sure the settings in CF admin are
    configured right for this.
The more often the database content is updated, the slower
    this solution will get though.
    cheers,
    fober
ps. for the cachedwithin parameter in the query set a
timeframe of forever, so the recordset never gets updated, and then
actually execute a new query to update the recordset at the end of
your "save a vacation" or "updated a vacation" functions. This way
the app would only read the db when a real change to the records
    occurred.
But like I said with 2000 users, even that may not be enough
    to get the app performing.

  • Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?

    Hi,
Using LabVIEW 2014 DS, and MSSQL 2008R2.
I have configured a table with identity, so the indexed will be incremented automatically.
I am trying to get the ID of the last Insert command that I am using.
I am trying to SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() but with no success.
I read about trying to so it with a procedure or transaction, but I just could not succeed myself.
Has anyone ever succeeded to use the scope_identity() from the LabVIEW DB toolkit ?
If yes, can you please elaborate more or even share the code ?
    Thanks,
    Amitai.

Yes I have...let me dig out some code...
I do my INSERT query (with a semicolon at the end) and in the same query string do a "SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() as inserted_id;" - essentially what you're doing here is running two queries in one - one to insert your data and the second to retrieve the ID. From what I remember of when I did this (last year?), I think scope_identity() is valid for the same connection so as you're doing both queries in the same connection it should always be valid.
I then do this to get the ID (pardon the crappy VI snippet):
Essentially I execute the query and the result is a 2D array that contains one row/column which is your last inserted ID.

  • Has anyone ever been quoted more than $500 to replace a failed logic board?

Has anyone ever been quoted more than $500 to replace a failed logic board? A Genius buddy of mine swears that it'll never be over $500 but I' convinced he's high out of his mind.

I doubt it. They don't even take the same kind of RAM.
What makes you think a replacement "will most likely go bad in the future"? Some have had to go back more than once; many haven't. (And many have not gone in at all.) There are many iBook users out there, happily iBooking away without any knowledge of the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program because they've never had a problem.
Get it replaced, free, NOW, and worry about the future when it gets here.

  • Has anyone ever changed an apple id on the iphone

my wife and i have been sharing an apple id and i now want to provide her with her own.  since the icloud has been launched any app she downloads i get and vice versa.  Has anyone ever switched out an applie id on the iphone before.  does it have to be synced with itunes once to make the change happen?  If so will i still be able to keep all of the contents ih her phone.

You can share iTunes content within the same household, so if you get your own Apple ID/iTunes account, you can continue to use content obtained using your Wife's account. Any app updates to apps obtained using the wife's Id must be done using that ID. Just authorize the computer for the new Apple ID/iTunes account: Store>Authorize this Computer. You can switch iTunes accounts on the phone by going to: Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...sign back in with the ID you want to use.

  • Has anyone ever send your mac pro to repair?

has anyone ever send your mac pro to repair?what's the process?do you need to provide the receipt?some rebate ask you to mail-in your receipt, will this affect the repair service?

    Hi,
The main process for repairs are to go through either Apple Care on the phone, or take the computer to an Authorized Service Center, or see a "Genious" at a local Apple Retail Store. Apple Care will send you a box to send the computer in to them, and Authorized Service Center will repair the computer, or send it to all, the Apple Store will do teh same thing. They fix some things, while most of the time the computer gets sent to Apple. You only need to reciept if you are going to return or exchange the computer within the 14 exchange period. So even if your reciept is long gone, Apple will still fix the computer.
If you don't mind me asking, whats wrong with your MacBook Pro? Hope this helps.
