Has anyone experienced Photoshop causing noisy images?
Everytime I start Photoshop CS6 dark images become clouded with white dots much like snow. The noise covers the images, but shows up best on dark areas and images. This has been happening over the last week, but I just realized in the last 24 hours that it was dependent on the PS CS6 application being active. As soon as I quit PS, the condition corrects itself and the snow/noise disappears.
I have a 15" MacBook Pro with Retina display running Mountain Lion (OSX 10.7.5) with 8G of 1600 MHz DDR3 Memory and a 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 processor.
Has anyone else experienced this?

It sounds as if your discrete GPU is going whacky on you when it kicks in - to verify that this is only happening when the discrete card kicks in, download Dody Krieger's gfxCardStatus which will show you the apps (and any hardware) dependent on the discrete card.
If it contines, you're under warranty and I would get the machine to an Apple Store or an AASP, well, ASAP.

I have experienced this on iPad 1 as well as iPad 2.
Basically, when you set the side switch to toggle screen orientation (or mute), after a period of use I will have either my sound cease to function or the ipad screen will not orient correctly. This depends on what i have chosen the side switch to toggle. I am not sure what causes it. The time it takes for the problem to appear is inconsistent. Some say it is caused by third party applications.
One can find numerous threads on here if you search for "sound on my ipad stopped working" or "orientation not working". It appears to be the same problem. Fudging with the toggle switch settings can fix it (but it takes a weird order to get it out of its non functioning loop).

has anyone experienced this problem: I am editing in FCP 7.0.3 on a Mac 10.6.8 - I have a clip in the browser that is full frame and fine and it matches the other clips in my bins but when I drop it into the time line it becomes a fully zoomed in version of itself and I can only see a small portion of the image. What's going on? I've noticed this has happened in the past randomly with other clips and it's driving me cray cray! Any help appreciated greatly and thanks in advance for taking the time
In the FCP Browser, click on the source clip that is showing up sized incorrectly to select it. Once it is selected, type Command + 9 to see the item properties for the clip. Either report those properties here, or take a screen shot of the item properties and post the screen shot here.
Next, click anywhere in your sequence timeline and then type Command + 0 {zero} to see your sequence settings. Either report those settings or take a screen shot of the sequence settings and post that screen shot here.

Has anyone experienced regular adjustments to the sound and brightness done by the laptop itself?
I have a 2010 MacBook Pro i7, 15" notebook. Without adjustments by myself, I find the sound and brightness seem to regress to the lower levels. Has anyone experienced this and what have you done to fix it?
Well, well, well... Nothing has changed. Somehow or another Adobe has managed to truly take control of Windows 7.
I updated Bridge or more correctly... The Cloud did and every files extension in Bridge had 'none' as the application. Lovely stuff. Now All I want to know is why did Adobe take control of Windows file manager and cause this much grief?
I almost never use the clunky and often impossible to manage Bridge. Simple freeware... Irfanview is way more elegant than Bridge and 10 times more useful IMO.
Well thanks for the heads up Curt. I never considered the full implication of giving Adobe the freedom to add and remove whatever they wanted to... Forget the don't fix what isnt broken thing... Just pour everything we've got in the cloud onto all the members PCs, eh? Hard drives are cheap and hey, what are forums for when things go wrong if it isn't to keep Adobe informed of bugs they can silently fix and pour 'em back into the cloud as fixes.

I had mine replaced last year. There are several reasons why a computer does not boot, so it is difficult to say if the hard drive was the cause. You can take yours to an Apple store and ask to have diagnostic tests run. Youc an also boot up from your backup and run Disk Utility > Verify disk on your internal to see if any errors pop up. -
Has anyone experienced problems with Mackeeper? I did not complete downloading this software. Yet, occasionally when on the internet, I will have the MacKeeper multi-colored circle replace my pointer. How do you deal with this?

I have experienced some mild tingling if I touch the aluminum case on my iMac at the same time that I touch the metal cases on my external hard drives. They are all connected to the same surge suppressor and are on the same circuit, which is definitely properly grounded. I can't explain it, and I just make sure not to touch them at the same time.
I have never had any sensation touching just one of the devices alone. Is that what you are experiencing? -
Has anyone experienced a flicker issue on the lock screen?
I recently bought a 32GB iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 installed and there's a flicker on the bottom lock screen. Right before it goes to the lockscreen there is a slight flicker. Has anyone experienced this. Or can anyone look to see if they have this problem. I went to bestbuy and I usually go to the phones section with my cousin anyways to see the latest well there were iPhones out to see and I looked and the bestbut one had the same thing but I want to see if anyone else had this or knows a solution to this. Should I downgrade or what?

A "shared' equipment icon identified as only f891cb000000 is appearing in my sidebar and the only info I can generate identifies it as a PC-- my attempts to generate more info results in nothing more than "fetching;" has anyone experienced similar?
Thanks to the gentlemen, Messrs. Galt & rack0 tack0, for their timely replies. I failed to mention in my original post that there are upwards of 15 Apple appliances in our house-- from Apple TV to 4 Apple iPhones to 4 iPads to 2 MacBook Pros to 2 iMacs to a 2TB Time Capsule-- we're all Apple, all the time. We don't own a PC and that was what was hanging me up. I did confirm, incidentally that we're IP6 (although, honestly, that technical jargon didn't mean a lot to me-- hey, I learned something [sorta]!). Anyway, after much digging, I've finally determined that what was/is being identified as a PC, is in fact a Canon MX860 Printer serving the "old" 21' iMac-- thankfully, our recently acquired Epson XP-410 serving the "new" 27' iMac is identified as such. And despite the time spent, a few valuable things occurred along the way, including a firmware update related to the Time Capsule... learn by doing, I guess. Thanks again.

When I enter my iTunes redemption code, I get a message that says, "The store is unable to access your account information. Please try again later." Has anyone experienced this?
I got the same message qhen using iTunes thru my computer. With the same gift card i got the message that the card had already been redeemed. I tried 3 different brand new cards. All the same. Contact the support is advice I got.

Has anyone experienced the iphone 4s camera panorama failure where the panorama stops after taking only one 'non panoramic shot? I think this happens when you switch direction of the panoramic arrow.
Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call? You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

Has anyone experienced problems with downloading Nikon D800 files to the iPad3 using the camer connector kit? I have tried .RAW and JPEG (of various sizes) on both SD and CF cards, but the iPad doesn't recognise the files.
I have seen various forums discussing Lightroom and PSE updates that are required to process .NEF files but I can't find anything on the iPad/camera connector issue.
I dont have any problem if I put the SD card straight into the SD slot in my iMac and Aperture will process the files fine, but I would really like to be able to download and view files on the move on the iPad.
Any advice appreciated?
PS - saw something that suggested the iPad had a maximum file size of 16mb for photos, not sure if this is correct, but I have tried smaller JPEG files and they still aren't recognised.If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content.
If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.
Note: Some cameras may refer to PTP as Pictbridge or PTP/Pictbridge.
