Has anyone had any success in correcting Maps mistakes?

On multiple occasions I've submitted a correction using the function within Maps to report errors, but nothing is ever done. Has anyone ever had any success in getting Apple's attention and getting something fixed? Or is the submitting a correction feature just a black hole? I've had to tell friends with iPhones to always use Google Maps rather than Apple to navigate their way to my house because Maps has completely mislabeled the street outside my development. It sure would be nice if they had a human being you could call...

The map data is not directly from Apple. Map data comes from Tom Tom and other map data suppliers. Corrections sent to Apple are then sent to the data suppliers. They update on their schedules. Has anyone had any success in downloading their phonebook to a Prius

I have a 04 Prius and I am wondering if anyone ever had any success in downloading their contacts/numbers to a Prius and if so how did they do it.

I just set up my 3g iphone with a 2009 Prius this weekend. I was NOT able to transfer my phonebook so I had to enter all the contacts manually. This took quite some time but was successful. I was also able to set up the voice calling feature, with help from the Prius forms I might add. The phone syns up every time I get in the car and seems to dial correctly and everything is clear on both ends. I would have to say that everything is as is should be.

Has ANYONE had any success installing 2.0?

Before I take the plunge, has anyone had success updating to 2.0? I am sure there must be some who are enjoying themselves now, so if you have been successful, was there a trick or are some people simply having problems?

Yes - I just upgraded to 2.0 about an hour and a half ago. I was fighting an issue with not being able to backup my phone prior to the upgrade (unknown error -43, which I finally tracked down to iTunes not playing nicely with a redirected Application Data folder). I ended up backing up the phone on my laptop and running the upgrade from there. Entire process took about 30 minutes to download the update, upgrade the phone, restore my settings, etc. - and it even activated immediately upon completion, and I had two new text messages that came through right away . . .

Has anyone had any success downloading their eTextbooks for Chegg?

Would just like to know because college classes are coming up for me and was thinking of getting my textbook through my Ipad Air (even though it's highly expensive from that too unfortunatley). Wondering if anyone tried downloading from it and had any problems like maybe not enough space, any errors where the textbook didn't show up on screen, etc. Also if it's possible, can you recommend me some cheap textbook or websites? Has anyone had any success with an external antenna on a UMW190?

Although I am getting good service from my UMW190 without an external antenna, I am in a low signal area and would like to have rock solid coverage.
I have tried a 1900Mhz yagi, a blade antenna, an omni, and a grid antenna. I am not seeing any difference in signal strength at all regardless of whether or not an antenna is connected and which way it is pointed. I have also tried two different pigtails form two different sources, and even borrowed a second UMW190 and tried it, all with no success. I know exactly where the tower serving my house is located, but I did try each of the directional antennas in a full 360 degree circle, stopping every few degrees to see if the RSSI improved. I tried both polarities too, although I understand it should be vertical.
When I contacted Verizon customer support they had very little information about it. I contacted Pantech, and they told me that support for this device is now handled by UTstarcom. UTStarcom told me that support for this device is now handled by Personal Communication Devices. When I contacted them the response was (and I quote) "We don't have any information on any external antenna support of our devices".
So I throw myself on the mercy of the Gurus here in the forum.
Am I missing something obvious? Is there a command that "activates" the external antenna connector? Does the connector even have anything connected to it inside the modem?
Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated!

Usually the external antenna works best where service is obstructed by certain materials and the external antenna is placed in a different area . If the signal is steady for the external antenna and the UMW190 in the area where you are using the devices, that would be the general signal strength of that area.

Has anyone had any success solving the stuttering problem in iTunes?

A few months ago, my iTunes began skipping after playing fine for twenty minutes or so. The skips or stutters then get closer and closer together until it is simply unlistenable. A restart finds the tunes that skipped before now working fine, but with new ones eventually stuttering. My RAM and HD space are in good shape. Advisors have offered assistance, but to no avail. (Neither was familiar with the problem). Judging from the number of entries one gets when Googling "iTunes skipping", I'd say this is a well-documented problem, yet nobody connected with Apple seems to know exactly what I'm talking about. I've tried fixing permissions, re-installing Snow Leopard, resetting PRAM, safe-booting; my next step is uninstalling and re-installing iTunes, which disheartens me because of all the people who have tried it to no avail. Any ideas?

To be honest if you had experienced it you would know exactly what i am talking about. I am running a top of the range retina display and get a bad laging issues when doing something a simple as maybe changing the volume of a kick in ultra beat and it will freeze for 30 odd seconds. it shouldnt be happening with such a powerful machine. I have reinstalled it, i have tried it in loew res i have tried it in 64 bit all of which still have the same issue. Even after being in to the apple store and being on the phone numerous times i still havent come to a conclusion therefore i was trying to gauge if anyone else had the same issues or if apple just need to hurry up and release an update.

I better not! My iMac is only a week old. And, if I did have any problems with it, I would let Apple deal w/it! I do not troubleshoot when I'm under warranty. That's Apple job!

Check how many applications are starting when you log in, I found that if there was a lot of activity at login Finder did not display the icons on the desktop correctly, again like you it did not occur at every login, just occasionally.
For Safari have you tried resetting Safari, if that does not help you could disable plugins and extensions one at a time. You may find one of those is causing the problem.

I downloaded the combo update 10.7.3 & it helped for about a day... yesterday I still had to manually reset the connection but now it's resorting back to disconnectiong w/o fully going into sleep mode first. Seems unfair... I thought I was probalby having a router problem... got a new router this week. Thst's when we realized we have a computer problem. My next door nieghbor got zero sleep staying up all night while trying to help us figure out what the problem could be. He said if it were him he would have returned the iMac / Lion. Got the new iMac w/ Lion for Christmas but didn't realize until this week that Apple is the problem.... Hard to believe that Apple just has kept on selling this like ... oh No problem! Can't stay on the internet... but will sell you another one today! I'm getting mad... It's not every day we spend that kind of money on a computer . & ALL they can give us is that LOUSY Lion combo update. I can't even stay connected long enough to make a vitamin order with Puritan's Pride... & then the disconnection wipes out my cart... so I have to start over. When are they going to fix this! I am afraid its worsen then THAT!!. I bought two licences from those fraud spammers, liftetime with "satisfaction or moneyback guarentee".
Both my Imac and MacPro kept crashing after installing it. All the helpdesk from zeobit did for me was sending me mails i should re-install osx and mackeeper.
When that didnt help, the gave in. I asked my money back, as in the guarentee. Thet denied flat out. "Sir this is not OUR software causing the problem, but OSX. Go there with your complained!"
Alsoo there newsletter......i UNLISTED 9 times now and still i get 5-8 spam mails a week.
It´s a fraud a company !!

I have had my new intel imac 20" for 2 weeks now and i like it a lot...
except I have been getting crashes on imovie (especially), and garageband.
I have had about 10 crashes total so far in about 2 weeks.
Is this sound normal?

How much spare hard disc space have you got? ..Could your disc be so clogged that there's no room for any more movie?
You'll need about 10% of your total hard disc space - e.g; 6GB for a 60GB hard disc - to be kept empty for your Mac to do its "housekeeping" (..creating temporary files, indexing things, and so on..) and iMovie footage uses about 13GB per hour of video.
So if you have a 60GB hard disc, and it's only got 15GB spare, then 6GB of that will really be needed by the Mac itself, giving you about 9GB of usable space, and if you import half an hour of video (6GB) and start cutting it around and editing the audio too, and duplicating a few clips, and adding stills, you're soon going to run out of space!
If your Mac's disc is almost full, you'll probably need to get an external FireWire disc ..say a 160GB or similar size.. then format it as 'Mac OS Extended' (..by selecting that add-on disc and using the 'Erase' tab in the Disk Utility program..) and then you can copy your project over to that new, empty disc, and continue editing it there.

Has anyone had any problems with their charger blowing out? mine blew, there's now a charred pin on the charger and in the socket of the macbook. The plastic around the charge socket is also cracked & distorted from the blow-out. It wasn't a power surge as no other electrical items were affected. It wasn't liquid or dust, as I'm the only person who uses it & I'm very careful. I'm concerned that the consequences could have been terrible. I wasn't present when it happened though, I can just see the evidence after the event.
I have a mid 2010 13" Macbook running the latest software & use the original magsafe charger that came with it.
Will I have to fork out for a costly repair or is there a safety issue that Apple will sort out for me?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Having just resolved iTunes not connecting to the store after the recent upgrade, I'm reluctant to do something that could potentially screw up the iPad which does what we want as it is.

That's probably a good idea. If you are happy with the system as is, I'd wait to upgrade. I can report that my friends and family have mostly upgraded to iOS 5 without any problems, but as you can probably tell from other posts on this board, lots of people have run into problems.
