Has anyone hooked up a microphone to an iPad

I would like to record my husband playing his guitar also his electronic drums. Can I also use the external microphone and video at the same time?
Went to my local Apple dealer and they didn't even know that a mic can be set up on an Ipad.

I have done it and it works fine, provided you have a microphone that is compatible. You will need the camera connection kit. You will use the 30 pin to USB connector from that kit to attach a USB microphone. I have a Blue SnowBall microphone and it works with this setup. Many USB microphones require too much power to be used in this fashion.
As a word of caution, though, I haven't tried this since installing iOS 7, so your mileage may vary.

  • QUESTION - Has anyone else recently experienced an iPhone or iPad's alarm going off by itself, without being set by the user?

Has anyone else had his/her phone alarm (on the clock app) go off by itself, without being set, and with a very weird sound?
Happened to me at 11:34 pm last night (Oct 28, 2013). I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.  Sound was named something like "Orari" and sounded like a woo-woo ghostly alarm. I immediately swiped to stop the alarm and then deleted the alarm, which I had NOT set, but which seems to have set itself.  The iPhone was plugged into my iMac at the time.  There is no such sound on my phone or, it seems, anywhere (I Googled).
The night before, Oct 27, something similar happened to my iPad mini running iOS 6 ... also plugged in to recharge, but at a wall socket ... the sound was like a fire or smoke alarm.
I know it's Halloween week, but some of us need our sleep!
    Any explanations?

    Hi Littleleslie,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen comes up, double tap the Home key and make sure you don't see the Alarm app in the list of background apps. If you do, swipe up on the thumbnail for it to close it out completely.
Then all you can do is wait to see if it will let you sleep through the night!
    Good luck!
    Cheers,

  • Has anyone experienced a blue screen while the ipad appearently still works in thbackground?

has anyone ever had a blue screen iPad issue repaired and if so what was the price?

Have you tried to give your iPad a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. If you see the silver apple it's rebooting.
If the reset doesn't help you can try a restore. If that doesn't help then if your device is under warranty and it's deemed to be a manufacturer's defect they should replace it for free. If it's not under warranty then the out of warranty replacement cost starts at 219 for a mini, 249 for a 2 and 299 for iPad 3+ (and more depending on the  model)
You'd need to make an appointment at your local apple store if you go for the replacement.

  • Has anyone connect an ant device to an ipad?

Has anyone managed to connect an ipod mini to a garmin ant dongle? I have the lightning to camera cord but the ipad does not support the connection. I have Digifit which support garmin ant but does not connect to the and dongle

The garmin dongle is a USB.  Garmin has software for Intel-based Mac OS 10.6.8 or later for ANT agent but the Ipad uses different software.  I guess that my question should be, is there a work around for this.
This is what Garmin has to say:
Garmin ANT Agent allows you to transfer fitness data from compatible Garmin ANT devices to and from your computer. Garmin ANT Agent detects any paired Garmin devices in range and automatically downloads fitness data to your computer and transfers the data to Garmin Connect.
This version supports:  Receiving history from all Garmin ANT devices
Sending received history to Garmin Connect
Goals in Garmin Connect will automatically be sent to your Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 405 when receiving history
Sending workouts, courses and user profile to Forerunner 310XT, Forerunner 405 and Forerunner 610 from Training Center
Updating firmware in FR60, Forerunner 310XT, Forerunner 405 and Forerunner 610
Sending goals to Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 405 from Garmin Connect
Receiving workouts and courses/virtual races from Forerunner 310XT and Forerunner 610
    System Requirements:  Intel-based Mac
    OS 10.6.8 or later
    256 MB RAM
    150 MB free disk space
    USB port

  • Has anyone had difficulties opening up jpegs on ipad, which have been  edited in  the latest Photoshop Elements 12?

Has anyone had any difficulties opening up jpegs on an ipad, which have been edited with PSE12?
Any photos I have taken, which I have edited and reduced in size in the new Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 will not open on the ipad. After editing I always save my pictures to folders on my desktop computer.
I experienced the problem when I recently sent sent four pictures less than 200Kb each attached to an email. The email opened up, the photos did not.  I have tried sending a variety of pictures now, and all those edited in PSE12 did not open up on the ipad.
    ZACL

    Hi Tom,
Kind of you to reply. My 'titles' conform, as they always have done.  I've used a few versions of PSE over the years. Pics edited in an older version opened up no probs on ipad.
When I upgraded my camera a few years ago I had to upgrade PSE because the updated codec for shooting raw was not available for downloading to earlier versions of the programme.  The same occurred again with another camera upgrade, which is why I am using PSE12 now.
    Cheers

  • Has anyone else reported lost microphone to Apple

i went to apple today because my microphone is not working on a 1year & 6 month old Ipad2. i was told numerous times i should have purchased apple care. too late to tell me that. it will cost $240.00 to swap it out. if others are having the same problem (i read some of you do), then they should fix a defective product.

Sorry, but things break.  In my house, we have two iPads.  One new and one well over a year old.  It hasn't broken.  There's a girl in my office who has Original iPad.  Her's hasn't broken.  As a member of this community, one would expect that if there was a major deffect, we'd lot's of posts on this, yet we don't.  Sorry.  Things break.
Let me ask you this.  You buy a car.  It comes with a 3 year warranty.  At 3.5 years, the transmission goes out.  Will the car manufacturer replace your transmission under warranty.  No.  They won't.  I'm sorry you're having an issue with your iPad, but you have no reasonable right to expect Apple to fix a product which no longer has warranty for free.

  • Has anyone hooked up Time Capsule on VERIZON'S FIOS?

I'm thinking of adding a 2 TB Time Capsule as a wireless backup drive, and using it for my wireless 5 gig Communication hub?

Sure.. do a search for FIOS here. lots of posts..
It will be fine in bridge.. plugged into the Fios router.

  • Has anyone else noticed a gritty feel to iPad 3 screen?

I had to replace my iPad 3 within two weeks of purchasing it. I have noticed that the screen on my replacement ipad 3 seems to feel gritty or filled with micro-bumps. Yes, I have cleaned the screen multiple times. I hope I am not the only one because I am not sure if Apple will replace it for this reason alone.

And to you, I am not a moron. The plastic sheet was removed upon purchase by the apple techs. I have my iPad 2 right next to me and the glass is very smooth. However, I have noticed the iPad 3 screen feels like it has very tiny bumps on the screen. This the second one I have gotten since my puppy cracked the first one. I will simply just check with Apple. I had hoped someone else had noticed this; alas, I was wrong.

  • Has anyone tried using their keyboard dock on iPad 2?

I'm trying mine out as I write ... it seems to be fine?? Anyone? Anyone?!

Im using the Apple keyboard dock with the iPad 2 right now. Initial thoughts/concerns:
    - the iPad seems to want to tip over and out of the dock when using on lap
    - some shortcuts (like command+arrows to navigate back/forth on safari, etc) don't work while other do (such as command+c, v, x--the standard ones). My guess is that this limitation was intentional so iPad users don't replace their laptops.

  • Has anyone else noticed small lines arcoss the iPad three

My iPad has small lines across the screen when held up to the light is this the new pixel signal structure

    Hi Doug,
I'm sure I did not notice a difference in Esc key behavior simply because I have never tried to use the Esc key to stop the Pen Tool from picking up the current path.
I just tested with all these versions of Photoshop:  6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, CS6, CC 14.x, and CC (2014) on my PC workstation running Windows 8.1.
    Observations:
Photoshop versions 6.0, CS5, and CS6 DO terminate the creation of the current path at the current point upon pressing the Esc key. However, Photoshop versions CS2, CS3, CS4, CC 14.x, and CC (2014). do not terminate the creation of the path upon pressing Esc, and will continue the path with another pen click.  Photoshop CC 14.x and CC (2014) may make it SEEM like the path creation is terminated because they hide the points, but the next click continues the path and causes all the points to reappear.
In every case holding the control key down (to temporarily choose the Direct Selection Tool) and clicking off the current path terminates the creation with an open path and allows the creation of another separate path.
No version closes the path (made the path into a closed shape) upon pressing Esc.  The only way I know to close a path is to bring the cursor back to the starting point, watch for a little o to appear next to the cursor, then click the mouse.
With Photoshop 6.0, CS2, CS3, CS4, and CS5 the response of the Pen Tool was instantaneous.  There was a definite slowdown / sluggishness in Photoshop CS6 and CC 14.x, which is now corrected in Photoshop CC (2014), which is again instantly responsive.
The only other thing I can think of regarding closing a path might be that when using the Pen Tool there are choices in the Options Bar about whether you're creating a shape or a path.  Are you ensuring you have that set the same way as you have had it set in the past?

  • Has anyone used picture in picture video on ipad?

I was wondering if ipad 4 has picture in picture capability, considering it has the bigger screen and all.
I think I saw 4k video player that can play multiple windows of video, but I have not seen a picture in picture video.
    Thanks.

order my new MP with the 8800 card day after announced (over 4 weeks ago), still waiting.
Some say they have a shipping sate of next week. Other have rumours of the container ship with all the cards being stuck in port in Shanghai because of bad weather.

  • Has anyone solved the Safari Crashing Issue on iPad Air

I am using an iPad Air with iOS 7.0.4 and Safari continues to crash while I am scrolling. I have tried the suggested fix: clear history/cookies/data and then reset the iPad, but that did not fix the problem. I can consistently recreate the crash by doing the following:
Clear the Safari history/cookies/data (Settings --> Safari)
Reset the iPad (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for 10 seconds)
    Open Safari
    Open the url https://twitter.com/TimCookAppleCEO
Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap the "Tap to load more tweets" button.
Repeat Step # 5 three times
Attempt to scroll to the top of the page by performing a finger swipe up
    Safari crashes (closes abruptly)

  • Has anyone been able to mirror from their iPad 2 to their Apple TV?

I can use AirPlay to play videos from my iPad but not mirror my iPad screen to my Apple TV? Any suggestions? Thanks

I figured it out. My Apple TV for some reason wasn't updating to the latest version. It was stuck at 4.3.
This might be what's happening for other people.
    To fix this:
Disconnect the power and HDMI cables from Apple TV. Note: If you do not disconnect the power cable before connecting the micro USB cable, you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list.
Connect one end of a micro USB cable to the back of your Apple TV, and the other end to one of your computer's USB ports.
    Open iTunes on your computer.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4367?viewlocale=en_US
This will install version 4.4.1 and the mirror option will be available once it's plugged back in and you set up your network again...

  • Has anyone used Zagg film as an ipad cover?

Has anyone used Zagg film to protect your iPad? Did it work well?

We have two iPods Touch and an iPhone with the Zagg protectors. They work fine. But I prefer the BodyGuardz back protector that I applied to my iPad 2 much better. The BG is smooth as a whistle, no tacky feel to it like the Zaggs.
