Has anyone integrated with PaymentTech for credit-card processing?

My client would like to capture credit-card payments using PaymentTech payment processor. We are using Oracles Apps 11i. I am aware that AR is integrated with iPayment for credit-card processing. However iPayment uses Cybercash as the payment system and it does not currently support voiceauth (i.e. ability to capture/settle payments based on an authorization not obtained via iPayment).
Has any one done any custom development to integrate directly to PaymentTech (or to a
3rd party application which integrates with PaymentTech)? I would appreciate if you can provide any directions.
Thanks.

P.S.: If possible, please also cc your response to my internet email addr [email protected] which i can more easily access from the client site.

  • Best practice for credit card processing??

    Hello,
Our application processes credit card transactions. For whatever reason recently double charges have been happening despite our clients stating they are not submitting the data twice. It kinda doesn't really matter what the cause is as we need a solid server side solution to never let double transactions occur. I have thought of a few methods but I'd very much appreciate someone else's opinion/experience on this. Whatcha think! Many thanks.
We are using coldfusion 8 with SQL Server 2008.
    Patrick

My suggestion is to 1) pick a reliable gateway and 2) pick a gateway that allows for pre-settlement auditing.
Double posting is a fact of life when two applications interface to each other. You want a reliable gateway to minimize the occurrence. Because double postings can occasionally occur, I always recommend pre-settlement auditing to make sure application A balances with application B.
A gotcha in the payments industry is when you double post, you get dinged a discount rate and transaction fees -- something like 2.00% + $0.35 as an example. If the double post makes it through interchange, and you need to refund one of the transactions back to the customer, you don't get the original fees back and you will most likely be dinged additional transaction fees (the $0.35 in sample rate). Using my rate example, if your average ticket is $10, your average processing fee is $0.55 ($10 x 2% + $0.35) so a refund will cost you the $0.90 (the original fee that does not get refunded plus another $0.35 for the refund). Now if your average tick is $100, now your approaching $3 for each double posting. If you pre-audit and stop the double posts before interchange, it'll only cost you the single $0.35 fixed fee for the double auth.
Now some API's are better than others and some can stop double postings all together. I still recommend the pre-settlement auditing if notithing else, for volume trending and fraud prevention. Again, a reliable gateway should have a solid API that can prevent double-postings.

  • Credit Card Process

Does anyone know of a good credit card processing company
that integrates easily with ColdFusion? I need one quick. Like
quick enough to be integrated by weeks end.

    Hi,
I'm always working with CyberSource for all my credit card
    needs and that works well.
But you would not be able to get that setup by end of the
week (as well as most other services), because it usually takes
already several weeks to get a merchant account (the online
representation of the company and bank account).
So you probably have to look into a hosted service that
includes that. don't have a recommendation for that, sorry.
    cheers,
    fober

  • Posting a Credit Card Processing fee

We currently have a credit Card Processing fee that is computed between Biller Direct and our TouchNet Gateway.  The fee does not show on the student's bill.  The charge is added to the payment when it is processed through our Gateway.
I have looked at the Biller Direct configuration and Payment Card configuration, and I cannot located confiquration for Credit Card processing fee.  This could be a web service that adds the fee to the student's payment.  Does anyone have a suggestion of where to look for the code?  I need to change it from a flat rate to a percentage.

    Bev,
I'm not sure how you all set this up initially, but you can check FI-CA event 1236 to see if that is where you are handling the fee.  That is the event where Biller Direct interfaces with an external payment gateway for real-time authorization.
The fee might also be something set up on the TouchNet side completely.

  • HT5035 Why, when trying to download a "free" app from iTunes after it say's, "this apple id hasn't been used with the iTunes store" does it keep asking for credit card info???

This is so frustrating! I have an itunes store account, etc. I lost all my info when I had to "restore" my iphone.
I wasn't able to do the "restore" until recently, gosh it was about 6mos or more ago when my iphone died...
So, as I get older I am having memory problems and haven't been able to access my itunes account.
Obviously when I did the "restore" on my iphone I lost all my info with it... So, wanting to use my iphone for
music, games, etc. I had to create a new apple id, fine, but when I wanted to download a "free" app it says
my apple id hasn't been used with itunes so it keeps asking for credit card info.
I do not remember ever having to have a credit card before!
I am so frustrated... First it was not being able to access my account then having to create a new one, fine!
But now I can't download "free" content without credit card information!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! UGH!!!!!!!
    Please, can anyone help...?!?
    Sincerely,
    "Distressed"

If you are within 14 days of purchase you can still return the iPhone and get the phone that suits your needs, however, I think you will find that no matter which phone you get the content provider will want to know how you are going to pay for future purchases. For Android phones it is Google, and they will certainly want to know.

I have a student trying to set up an App Store account (she has an Apple ID), however she is being asked for credit card information.  The option of NONE does not appear as one of the choices with the other credit cards.
    Any assistance?

There are instrctions on this page for how to create a new account (it won't work with existing account) without giving a credit card number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 e.g. select a free app in the store and click on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it.

  • I would like to pay for apple tv rentals with a different credit card from my iTunes Store. How can I do that?

I would like to pay for apple tv rentals with a different credit card from my iTunes Store. How can I do this?

Any purchases made from the iTunes Store, on your computer, AppleTV, or iOS device, use the same billing information that is associated with your account. To pay with a different credit card, log in to your account and change the payment options associated with your account. If you want to use different payment options on different devices, you may want to consider utilizing multiple iTunes accounts, each with its own payment options.

  • I have an ipad for work.  I would like to download another account with a personal credit card just for only media.  I do have an account on my mac air.

I have an ipad that was issued from my company.  I would like to add a second itunes account for just media with my personal credit card.  I have another itunes account on my mac air.  Can I download it to my ipad without disturbing my work appications?  I see similiar questions, but none of the answers are simple enough for a "newbie" like myself.  Thank you for any suggestions.

    It's complicated.
    iTunes accounts use Apple ID's.
I currently use two unique Apple ID's on my wife's iPad 2.
I sync the iPad manually to two different user accounts on my MacBook.
It is possible (though not necessarily intuitive) to sign out of one Apple ID and sign in with the other one:
    Open Settings, Store, Apple ID.
Touch on the current Apple ID, and a pop-up gives you the option to View Apple ID, Sign Out, or Cancel.
Sign out, and a Sign In window pops up.
Now you can Use Existing Apple ID, Create New Apple ID, or Cancel.
Each Apple ID shows its' own $ balance. You might just want to use your exiting iTunes Apple ID as the second ID on the iPad. That probably allows you to share your current MacBook Air music collection with the iPad. But I'm not positive about that.
For simplicity's sake, you might consider using prepaid Apple iTunes cards (they apply to everything), rather than a personal credit card. Also limits your risk in case the device is lost or stolen.
One annoyance occurs when updating Apps: you have to remember to sign out of one ID and sign in with the other in order to get all apps updated.
All of the folders, apps, music, and video purchased (regardless of which Apple ID you use) will be combined when you view the contents. I'm not an expert by any means, but I do not know of any way to create separate users on an iPad as you can with a Mac or a Windows PC. You can segregate Apps into separate folders, e.g. "Work Apps", and "Personal Apps", but you have to do that manually, and as far as the iPad is concerned, they are all co-mingled.  Example: Take a photo with the built-in camera. It will appear in Camera Roll. Is it a 'work' photo or a 'personal' photo? No way to segregate them. Any music downloaded from iTunes, or synched from a Mac or PC goes into the same music collection.
So that may not be a problem if your 'work' Apple ID never purchases music or movies, and your 'personal' Apple ID never purchases business applications.
I worked in IT for a number of years, and I have to ask, does your IT department have a problem with your 'personal' data and 'personal' apps on a 'business' device? Who is responsible for backing up 'work' apps and data?  'Personal' apps and data? You might need to ask for clarification before you invest any money.
These answers apply to iOS 4.3.4 and an iPad 2.  iOS 5 could change some of these answers.  I'm waiting for at least an iOS 5.1 update before considering whether iOS 5 offers anything we need.

  • Has anyone returned an iPod for a gift card

Hi everyone. Apple was kind enough to return my 3 week old refurbished iPod video so I could get a new one. Now I am iPodless! I was planning on getting a new iPod right away when I got my Gift Card. Seel, I bought the iPod using a gift card. Now they are saying it will take 2 weeks to get the gift card! This seems a little crazy to me. Has anyone returned an iPod for a gift card who can tell me how long I should expect it to take? Where do they ship the gift card from? I sent my iPod to somewhere in California, and I live in California. I don't see how it could take more than 2 or 3 days. Maybe I am missing something? The return policy says they send the gift card within 2 days of receiving the iPod. I'm sure someone has done this.

    Your post is confusing.

Do you mean they let you return it and get your money back?
Not sure what you mean by a gift card?

Can anyone tell me why my credit card payment has been refused because the card was issued from a bank in the Caribbean??

Was the card issued in and have a billing address in the country whose iTunes Store you wish to use? If not, that's why it's being rejected.
