Has anyone linked an old Sony Walkman cassette player to a Mac mini

Hi everyone,
Happy new year to the community. I am trying to find a way to use my old Walkman cassette so that I can covert my cassettes to cd. I have a USB cassette player that works but it sounds a bit tinny, whereas the Walkman is far superior, any suggestion will be very welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
I just tried using the IMic and my Walkman, unfortunately as the Walkman has one socket for earphones and the other socket is for a 3.5v mains plug. I am not sure if there is anything I can do.  I do have a conventional cassette recorder/player but it needs to be connected to an amplifier.  That is all very well, however, I am concerned about connecting the amplifier to the mac mini.  Before I do, is there any special adapter leads that I need to use, I am a little naive on this matter.
Thank you

  • Has anyone else found that Sony XAVC 4K files are flagged as camera files in Import?

Has anyone else found that Sony XAVC 4K files are flagged as camera files in Import?
It sems that because they are being seen as a camera it is not possible to leave them in place on import?
I have already backed up the camera files onto Thunderbolt drives and therefore I don't want them to be moved again!!
Can I force FCPX to see the Ext HDD as a volume not a Camera?
    Thank you
    Jules

    Hi Tom
    Thank you for your reply,
Surely all files originated from a camera? If I back them up to an external drive and clone them onto another drive for editing with FCPX, I don't expect them to be seen as camera files which FCPX then copies again just so that I can edit them. I just want to leave them in place, but FCPX doesn't give me that option.
It seems that FCPX has failed at the first hurdle. It is forcing me to have to buy extra storage just so that FCPX can copy them on import. Surely, if FCPX can handle them natively then why does it have to move them?

Has anyone had a problem with Draft Emails getting sent with Mac OS 10.8.2? It just happened to me and sent a few drafts out to a potential employer I planned on sending out tomorrow.

Hi, one question & one suggestion...
What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Adobe Creative Cloud - has anybody had any luck running Adobe CC on a new mac mini? Does it run slow for Photoshop?

Adobe CC applications are very large and the base Mac mini isn't a good choice because it has only 4GB of RAM and has a slow standard hard drive. To get the most out of ACC you should upgrade the mini to at least 8GB. I'd also choose an SSD or Fusion drive for better performance.

  • Has anyone installed Mavericks on an older (circa 2006 or 2007) Mac Pro 1.1 ?

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on an older Mac Pro desk top.
Needing to upgrade Adobe Lightroom 3 to LR 5 and it requires OS 10.7 or higher.
Apple's specs for Mavericks call for a Mac Pro 2008 or newer.
Has anyone successfully installed Mavericks on an older Mac Pro?

Yah. But just try booting a MacOS volume that you have forgotten to install the driver in. Yikes!
I will be installing Snow Leopard on Friday. That won't be a sensible thing for anyone to attempt if a GTX-285 is fitted in the computer.
I have taken the precaution of reinstalling my 8800GT to permit a trouble-free Snow install.
If I knew Snow will install a GTX-200 series driver there would have been no need to do this. But I have no indication that Apple's new OS will support the new card. I hope it does.
Even if it does, the latest EVGA/nVidia driver for the MacOS is awful, nothing like the WindowsXP driver's superb performance. I do a lot with 3D entertainment, games and Second Life. Using those with the GTX-285 in the MacOS is torture. MacOSX drivers for both the 8800GT and the GTX-285 are terrible when running Second Life in comparison to Windows versions on both those cards.
Currently, the 8800GT is a far better card than the GTX-285 is in 10.5.8 for Second Life.
Will Snow address those driver concerns? We'll know soon enough.

  • How do I transfer an audiobook from iTunes (purchased from the iTunes Store) to a Sony Walkman MP3 player so I can listen to it?

I purchased two audiobooks form the iTunes store. They both have DRM.
I have used 2 out of 5 of my downloads on a personal computer and an iPod. I tried to use 2 more of my downloads on a second computer to transfer the books to a Sony Walkman, but was unable. How can I do this?

rip to itunes, put it in a playlist that you usually sync to your phone and then sync.

  • Has anyone actually ready the EULA for Flash Player 10.2?

    .  .  .  because I can't get it to open using Firefox
My Adobe Fash Payer has a popup window that automatically tells me I need a new version of Adobe Flash Player and invites me to read the
the End Use License Agreement (EULA)
with a link to this page:  http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/#flash_player
and the  link at this address:   Adobe Flash Player                       10.2 (PDF,  3.3M)
    goes to this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/eulas/pdfs/PlatformClients_PC_WWEULA_Combined_20100108_1657. pdf
But that new page always says (stopped) and shows nothing.

Hi, Since that's the latest update that just came out, I haven't had time to check that. Is the certificate for the DLM perhaps?
What about the certificate with the Flash Player you have Installed currently? What does it say?

  • How to connect an old ADC flat panel to the new Mac mini?

I am thinking of getting one of these new Mac mini's for the kids in the den and I have an old 20" flat panel ADC from Apple that is still going strong. Is there an adapter that will work with this configuration?
    Thanks,
    West

Somewhat ungainly, but you'll need the mini-DVI-DVI adaptor (supplied with the new mini), and a DVI-ADC adaptor (http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8661LL/B?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjE0NTg4NA)

  • Anyone try the Samsung M9T 2TB 9.5 Drive in Mac Mini 2012?

Just got a second user Mac Mini i5 late 2012, very impressed by its small size, my desktop is very uncluttered now!
I store a lot of pictures on a large 3Tb external desktop hard drive. Think it would be much neater to have all my data stored on a larger internal drive(s) - increasing the storage by using two internal 2Tb Samsung Spinpoint M9T drives would solve all my stoage needs very neatly.
Wondered if anyone had tried this?
I've ordered a Samsung M3 Slimline 2Tb external drive, which I think contains a Spinpoint M9T drive. Anyone confirm this please, also any info as to how to extract drive from casing would be appreciated.
Any comments on the feasability or difficulties of such an upgrade would be much appreciated.

Here is the video for how to do it:

    This
    http://www.seagate.com/www-content/support-content/samsung/internal-products/spi npoint-m-series/en-us/samsung-m9t-internal-ds.pdf
says the 2Tb Samsung Spinpoint M9T is 9.5 mm thick which is the max thickness for the Mini
I have purchased an SSn for my 2012 Mini and am waiting for the warranty to expire before adding it to my 2012 Mini.
You need a double kit to install a second drive
    http://blog.macsales.com/15375-owc-data-doubler-adds-second-drive-to-new-2012-ap ple-mac-mini
From the vodei it is harder than replacing the drive in my 2009 Mini which I did last year.

  • Can I use my old 8GB 1067MHZ DDR3 in Macbook with Mac Mini late 2012 1600 MHZ DDR3

I am thinking about using my 8GB 1067 DDR3 from my old Macbook into my new Mac Mini late 2012 that uses 4GB 1600MHZ DDR3
    Can I do it?
    Thanks

Your Late 2012 Mac mini requires a different type of RAM respecting to the RAM that your MacBook Pro uses, so you cannot use it with your Mac mini. If you try to use it, you will get kernel panics or your Mac may not start up.
You can buy more RAM at OWC or Crucial. Always get RAM that meets your Mac specifications

  • Sony Walkman MP3 Player

I recently downloaded songs to my walkman from a music download site. When i try to play some songs i get an error message. it says i can't play certain songs unless i update my license information

I apologize that no one replied to your post any sooner. I am not sure what could be causing this. I would advise speaking to Sony to see if there is a quick fix for this. Here is their support site for their MP3 players. Try plugging in your information to see if its a common problem with an easy fix.

  • Has anyone even used this kind of dust cover for there mac?

    Hello,
I wanted to ask if anyone had used this here http://www.computerdust.com/ ? Is it any good if you have or would you recommend something else? I'm looking at it to protect my mac pro. Thanks for the help

I use a few of these from a different company
    http://www.dirtbag.biz/computerdustfilter.html
They cost like $15-$22 depending on size (MacPro would need a large one!;>) and quantity purchased
We use them on some old windoze pcs out on the production floor of our sheetmetal shop. The one near the deburr room gets filthy with metal dust and it seems to stop most of those particles.
It is definately not very convenient if you need access to the ports and the flap for the CD drive doesn't seal up very well. Don't make a flap if you can get by without access to the CD drive.
It probably depends on your enviroment more than anything, but for filtering out particles of a certain size or larger they do a good job...
I will definately be buying more...

  • HT203167 hey folks has anyone else lost all their ring tones from your library cause mine has disappeared and now i have no ring tones and i dont know how to get them back can some one please help me thanks

Hey can you guys advise me on how to find missing ringtones please

Ringtones are currently a one-time only download from the store, so they won't appear in the Purchased link for re-downloading. Are they in the Tones section of your computer's iTunes library - by default your library is stored under:
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\
    Windows Vista: \Users\username\Music\iTunes
    Windows 7 and Windows 8: \Users\username\My Music\iTunes
And if you have ringtones in your library then there should be a Tones Directory underneath that.
If they aren't there then do you have them on your backup of your downloads ?
If not, and they are still in the store, then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will grant you a re-download of them

  • Link to OLD Versions of Shockwave Player

I, like many others, need Shockwave 10 in order to support

Please refer to the page below to download older versions of

  • HT2801 Has anyone else had problems with the dvd player in pre unibody macbook pros?

My 2007 macbook pro has a skrewed up dvd drive.  It doesn't seem to matter if the dvd is brand new or badly scratched: iDVD takes several minutes to pop up and several more to recognise that there is a disc present and several more to start reading it.  Half the time the drive just spins the dvd around really fast and makes a lot of noise and gets the fans maxed out and then stalls and eventually decides to give up.  After giving up on playing the disc it usually has a hard time deciding whether or not to eject the disc!  I don't know if its just burnt out and needing replacing or if there is an inherent flaw in the manufacture/design of the drive.  Either way it really irritating.

SuperDrives wear out - it seems that yours might be on the verge of a mechanical failure. I'd just replace it, buying a new drive from Other World Computing and installing it yourself (because Apple would charge a small fortune).
