Has anyone moved from mobileme to icloud?

Am a bit worried about mopving from mobileme to icloud as I dont want to lose my iweb site. Im aware that Ill have to change it by next June, but has anyone moved over and if so are your iweb sites still working in the meantime.?

To add to Ethmoid's post: it is now confirmed that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

We have a lot of devices and I'm struggling to get them all on the same page. We each have our own iPhones and we share an iPad, so that's five total devices I'm trying to sync via iCloud.
Specifically, she updates contacts on iPhone and they never sync with desktop... its been weeks and they still haven't synced. when I go to iTunes the options are the same as I did for my profile...
any ideas?

Yesterday I moved from MobileMe to iCloud. Everything moved. Today I entered new events on my iPhone and they synced to iCloud, but not to iCal on my MacBook. Any thoughts as to why?

Welcome to the Apple community.
Your address book should have migrated along with your move. If it hasn't go to groups, in "on my mac" group select all the contacts that appear on the right-hand side and drag them to your "iCloud" group.
Once you have done this you can then delete the contacts from your "on my mac" group.

Does anyone know how I could figure out a way to publish my updates on iweb since moving from mobileme (the host) to icloud?

Do this:
go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out of MMe.
login with a bogus username and password like "Ying" and "Yang". This clears the caches.
login with your correct username and password.
launch iWeb and try again.

Moving from MobileMe to iCloud

I've just ordered the new 3rd generation iPad and I'm looking ahead to when I will be making the move from MobileMe to iCloud. I have over 5GB of emails and attachments accumulated in folders in the mail.app on my Macbook, which is too old to run OS X 10.7. Are all those old emails going to be moved to iCloud, or just new ones?

Thanks for the reply. I think you have essentially answered my question, although indirectly. The emails I was concerned about are no longer on the server, due to having been moved out of the INBOX into other folders. So, if I am understanding correctly the only mail that will get moved to iCloud will be those messages that are still on the mobileme server at the time I initiate the change to iCloud.
From that point on, all new messages (coming via the server) will be pushed to all of my iCloud-able devices (and in a diminished capacity to my Snow Leopard-bound MacBook once I set that up), and all my old messages will reside only on my MacBook.

Has anyone moved from Sky to BT Vision - opinions ...

Hi. My Sky contract is up at the end of July and I want to move to BT vision.
I'm wondering has anyone gone through this process and what are your thoughts on the new service?
How did the transition go? How much are you saving? What are the call centres like (I know they have Indian call centres like Sky I've heard that you need to keep the STB on all the time. Is this true?
Also, does the router need to be near the tv? This wouldn't be possible in the place I live at the moment. Would a wireless bridge work?
Basically all I'm watching is Sky Sports 1 and 2 (I also have SS3 and 4 which I don't watch) and Freeview, plus I've got BB,HD + 2 pack, and I'm paying £63.50. Its just too much.
I'm hoping moving to BT Vision I could cut my bill in half.

I cancelled Sky last night and got my MAC code! Should be disconnected at the end of July.
How long will it take from placing an order with BT to getting package and STB in the post? I'm thinking of ordering at the beginning of July.
About the STB issues I wold rather turn it off. It will be connected to an 8 way power adapter with amps and 50 inch tv etc all connected. I really don't want to leave all that on standy when I'm out. I never schedule record never and I don't mind waiting to for the box to boot up, even if it takes 5 minutes.

That's where you're going wrong. Firstly the syncing method that MobileMe used, which places the icon in the menu bar, is quite different from the iCloud method and is irrelevant. Secondly, you're confusing the Time Machine icon with it.
On this Mac you need to set up in System Preferences>iCloud in the same way, then the syncing is automatic. In iCal on both machines you should see in the Calendar list your calendars listed unrer 'iCloud', and your calendars should be visible at http://icloud.com (and choose Calendar in the welcome screen).
If they aren't visible online, go to http://me.com/calendar - you should not be able to see them there. If you can, you haven't migrated.

ICal does not display iCloud calendar after moving from MobileMe to iCloud

I moved MobileMe to iCloud. Everything but iCal made the move fine. My iCal app does not show iCloud nor am I able to create that as a new account. My MobileMe calendar is displayed but gets an error message that it cannot log on to my calendar because the password is wrong at MobileMe. Settings shows I am logged in to MobileMe and that it has moved to iCloud.

I moved from MobileMe to iCloud but it stopped my mail on my 3g iPhone How do I work around that until I can buy newer iPhone that runs iCloud?

When I moved my MobileMe account to iCloud on my MBP I knew my iPhone 3G was limited but I didn't think it would be cut off from the icloud services. I still have a GMail account come through on it ok but I really would like my .Mac email to work on it. I am not quite ready to upgrade to 4S (had thought to wait for 5)

Update: I was able to get a genius appt. and they helped set it to work with Caldev etc for ical and same with mail; contacts etc.

I followed directions for moving from mobile me to icloud, but can't figure out a way to verify that the move is complete. Does anyone know how to verify this?

Check whether your mail is visible at http://me.com or at http://icloud.com . If the former, you haven't migrated successfully and should go to http://me.com/move and follow the instructions, logging in with your @me.com address (not your iTunes ID if this is different).
If your mail appears at http://icloud.com you have migrated and need to sign in and enable Mail in System Preferences>iCloud (Lion 10.7.2 required).

Email not accessible after moving from mobileme to icloud

I moved my mobileme account to icloud. When I click "email" in iCloud, it asks me to setup an me.com email address in my iOS. When I try that in icloud settings in my iphone, it says my address is occupied. So I end of up losing access to my @me.com email access. How can I get it back?

I have the exact same problem but only with iCal. Contacts and reminders seem to be there. When I try troubleshooting and go to my MacBook Apple>Preferences>iCloud, I keep getting the same screen advertising iCloud and telling me to use it I should "Move to iCloud." Each time I do that, in just goes into an endless loop of Find my Phone. WTH? Help!

Moving from mobileme to icloud has made things not work properly

I have pretty much all things Apple, at least pretty close to it. Iphone, Ipad, Macbook Pro, and IMac. Things were all working great until I did the move to Icloud. Now my calendars will only update on the Iphone and Ipad, but not on the Macbook or the IMac. We use Time Capsule for wireless routing and had hoped it would all work together.
Not to mention. I was using MobileMe to host my website, is there going to be a replacement for this? Or where do you recommend doing this at?

Questions:
What version of the Mac OS is running on the Macbook Pro and iMac? (Apple > About this Mac).
Make sure you are running Mac OS X 10.7.3 or later. If you have an earlier OS (like 10.6) you will need to purchase and install 10.7 as it is a requirement for iCloud (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4436).
If you are already running Mac OS X 10.7.3 or later on both your Macs then follow the steps for troubleshooting iCal in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3999.
If after following all the steps in the iCal section of the article, calendars still do not sync, let us know.
Apple hasn't announced any replacement for the web hosting portion of MobileMe (http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html). Given the massive number of web hosting services out there, you have many choices. Choosing one which says they are Mac compatible is handy (not because it matters all that much from a publishing perspective, but if you have to call them for support, its nice if they have an idea of how a Mac works).
