Has anyone ordered a iPhoto book in Canada?

I am just checking to see if anyone has ordered any IPhoto books from Canada. I am interested to see if there were any extra customs chargese or anything else that would help,

I have ordered a few books, both soft and hardcover. I would recommend paying the extra up front and getting them shipped express, since you end up paying duty afterward (you will get a separate bill in the mail) if you get them shipped standard. You end up paying about the same and it gets to you a lot faster if you choose express (the duty charges are included).

If it's an ibook from Apple then you can only read it in the iBooks app on an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch - you can't read them on a Mac or PC.

For a month I have been trying to order an iPhoto book in the UK. I have constantly failed as whatever I do my phone number comes up as not a valid entry. I have changed my details and the phone number of all of my details but no luck

This has beome very difficult as it is my daughters Birthday on Friday and I have been unable to order the iphoto albums as the sytem refuses to let me order them as it does not think my phone number is valid. I have put this number in every sytem I have including my shipping information. can anyone help me. This is a UK number and my details are in UK directories.

Upload freezes when trying to order an iPhoto book

I've seen that many people have had this problem. I'm trying to order a large (not XL) iPhoto book using my 2012 MacBook Pro. After I click "Buy Book" and enter payment information, the assembly goes well, but it freeezes halfway through the upload every time. I can and have made a pdf of the book following Apple's instructions, and everything worked just fine with that. In other forums, the suggestion is to reboot the computer in safe mode. Is this suggestion only for people who couldn't create a pdf of the book? How will this help with the upload?

ErinWyoming, I'm sharing your pain. I've ordered 3 calendars in the past with no problem. Even using this computer and the same network. Currently on a MacBook Air running OSX 10.8.5.
But this order is driving me nuts. I can create the PDF and it assembles with no problem, but gets to either one of 2 points in the upload and basically freezes iPhoto (so freezes quite early on in the upload, or around half way through). I can't cancel the order, or otherwise use iPhoto and the only way to escape is to Force Quit iPhoto.
I've tried ordering in safe mode, I've tried deleting the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file as instructed elsewhere. I've tried different Apple ID's and different addresses. I've adjusted my energy settings so that the display and computer never go to sleep and my hard disk won't go to sleep. I've tried uploading at different times of the day. I've left it running overnight (just in case I'm not being patient enough). Alas, no order goes through.
I'm not sure what else to try. I'm getting to the end of my tether!! Anyone else got some suggestions?! I'm thinking (God forbid), of constructing the calendar elsewhere at this point .... I'm OVER it!!!!

Had Good Luck in ordering 1st iPhoto Book

First iPhoto Book order for me and I had no problems. I really liked it. My scanned photos and digital and email photos all came out looking good.
Pictures looked sharp, esp. my flowers pics. I would not hesitate to do another.

New to Maverick & MacBook Air -- have just put together an Iphoto Book and want to make changes to a page -- anyone know what happens if you leave a frame blank -- will Apple print the frame and it looks ridiculous -- I want to put two small photos on my last page and it will only allow two large photos. Any suggestions???

Check that by making a preview of your book - probably it will look ridiculous. See this link: iPhoto, Aperture: Previewing an order in iPhoto or Aperture
You can change the layout of any page to a different number of photo boxes; select the page in the pages viewer and open it in the layout panel. Change the number of photos to two with a textbox. You can insert an empty text into the text box. The additional textbox will make the photo boxes smaller.
As to the missing photo, you will get ths warning:
All boxes need to be filled - if you want to leave a box empty, you need to put some dummy picture there.

Has anyone created a PICTURE BOOK in iBooks Author?

I am coming up against an issue that I wish I had known about before investing my time in iBooks Author and that is the the apparant inability to create our picture book and not give away the plot of the entire book on the second page in the TOC that shows all the pictures (our pages) for our book. My question is, has anyone been able to eliminate the TOC with the row of pictures at the bottom of the TOC for your picture book and still get your book published? If so, can you tell me your title so I can see it? Thanks!

We are building a video ebook, using text, filmed video clips of the characters, still pics and audio and want to have it released in this IBA format according to what we think is proper as far as presentation is, to our audience. The problem of incorrect formatting for a children's picture book in IBA is very much there. Part of this issue is creative control and the other part is unnecessarily revealing the visual storyline on the first page of the book. Thanks for your input though.

No. The iPhoto for iOS can edit photos and share them to social media sites like Facebook. But the app does not have the capability of creating photo books.

Ordering an iphoto book within europe

I live in France & want to have a book sent to the UK. On the help screen it says "Customers with a billing address in Europe can have their orders shipped to any European country where iPhoto Internet services are available"
However, I cannot complete an order unless I put in my own address as the shipping address. This is the third book I am ordering & am fed up with having to pay extra postage just to get the book to the UK!
Anyone know a way around this?
