Has anyone run Adobe Premiere 6.5 on a Macbook?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has tried out Premiere 6.5 on their Macbook to see if it works- Even if it is or isn't the program you use now. Would appreciate knowing if it will run.
Thank you
Hi,
I wanted to clarify something. When I asked about Premiere 6.5 running, I meant the Mac version. I know with if I run Windows on the Macbook, I should be able to use the Windows version of it, but my question was for the Mac platform.
Hopefully somebody out there knows.
Thanks again

Has Anyone Used Adobe Premiere 6.5 On A Core 2 Duo iMac ?
I use both Final Cut Express 3.0 and Premiere 6.5 on my old eMac.
Although Apple says it is not supported, a number of iMac owners have successfully used FCE on Intel iMacs using Rosetta. They also have the option of upgrading to the UB FCE 3.5.
With Premiere there is no such possibility as Adobe stopped producing it for Macs a couple of years ago.
I intend to get an iMac in the near future and wondered whether anyone has used Premiere on one and how well it worked?

Can I run Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on MacbookPro with Lion??
For the love of GOD!! Can someone please explain to me why I cannot effectively use Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on my MacBook Pro (Lion OS)??? I've tried getting all updates from both Adobe and Apple, still no luck. Playback is horribly choppy, resolution is diminished and the program appears to be useless...no one at Apple seems to know anything about Adobe. Sorry if this quesiton has already been proposed, but is their a basic overall solution to get Premiere to run on lion???
CS5x will not use Cuda with any ATI graphics adapter
Go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/773101 and click on the link to the current list to see the (two?) ATI cards that work with CS6 for hardware Cuda
For the OP... I am Windows... is a "Macbook" a notebook/laptop computer?
If yes, read http://forums.adobe.com/message/4578948 for ideas on the "power" needed for laptop editing -
Has anyone run into the problem of downloading or opening an E.pdf file? I am running on 10.6.8 and am unable to open the file. Any suggestions?
That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account. -

when downloading the trial, has anyone run into download issues?
I remembered we have weird permission issues at work. Somewhere between my Home Windows 8 machine(horrible permissions issues with network), my home mac, email and my work computer, some permission got out of whack. The workaround for this was copying the file to my desktop, back to the exact same spot on the network. This resolved all issues.

Has anyone tried to play 'The Sims2' on the macbook yet?
Ciao a tt!
I am a proud owner of a now aging 12" powerbook G4 and I am seriously considering the new macbook. However, I am a highschool student, and as such am addicted to a myriad of fairly graphic intensive games including The Sims2, and Halo. Compunding these are games such as Age of Empires and Rise of Nations which are not particularly graphic intensive but as of now must be run by means of Rosetta. My question for all of you is: Should I go for the MacBook which I have heard has a fairly mediocre graphics processor, or should I save up for a Macbook pro? If it is absolutely necessary, I will go for the MPB, but I am much more attracted to the MacBook from an aesthetic point of view and feel the size is perfect for a portable computer. Thank You all for your imput, and please excuse my English I know it leaves a lot to bbe desired.
PowerBook G4 (867MHz) Mac OS X (10.4.6)I'd assume it would run well on the MBP, I have a friend with a higher end PowerBook who plays the game religiously. However, I look up some of the game specifications on Aspyr's web site and the graphics card on the MacBook(Granted it is fairly new and may not be included on the web site yet) is not listed as compatible. Has anyone played the universal version yet on a MacBook, or is it as of yet an impossibility? As far as I know, the game does play on the MPB as a universal binary and courtesy of Cruzmisl's post in Windows Xp. I would just like to determine if I should wait to buy a MBP or if I can go for Macbook which I feel is a better machine (As long as it can handle my games)

Cant run Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 on windows 8.1. Need help.
I recently discovered that CS2 items were free, so I wanted to get a piece of that pie. Considering that I don't have a movie editing application on this new computer, I wanted to switch to something complex. When I download the installer from the page and installed it, nothing out of the ordinary happened until I tried to start it. It popped up with the splash screen, and then immediately crashed in a literal split second. I opened my task to see if it was running in the back, and it was not. Now i'm starting to notice that Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 isn't compatible with win8.1, even if I set compatibility to Windows XP service pack 3. This is so frustrating. Is there a patch or something i can use to fix this issue?
Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors

Are you the same person who started this message thread, but with a new ID?
If you are the same person, a laptop with a single 5400rpm drive is BARELY going to edit SD/HDV video... but you may then be one of the people who comes back to ask why your video "plays glitchy" while editing
Trying to use only ONE Hard Drive for Video Editing
You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything
I find that the three drives I use work very well for me, for editing AVCHD video... some people use a 4th drive, so video INPUT files are on drive three and all OUTPUT files are on drive four... I only bought a mid-tower case instead of a full tower case (my bad... but had to fit in the space available on my office desk!) so I use the three drives that will fit
Depending on your exact hardware (motherboard brand & model AND USB2 enclosure brand & model AND external hard drive brand & model) AND the type of video file, you may... or may NOT... be able to use an external USB2 hard drive for SD (Standard Definition) video editing
Steve Grisetti in the Premiere Elements forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856208 and Jim Simon in the Premiere Pro forum http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856433 use USB externals for editing
A USB3 hard drive connected to a motherboard with USB3 is supposed to be fast enough for video editing (I don't have such, so don't know) but eSata DOES have a fast enough data transfer for video editing... I have not used the eSata Dock below... for reference only, YMMV and all the usual disclaimers

Is anyone here using Premiere CC to edit a PBS-style historical documentary? I'm thinking of an American Experience episode or something similar. Something with thousands of photos and hundreds of low-res archival screener clips that will all have to be replaced with high-res masters for the online, etc.
I ask because I work as an assistant editor for this kind of show, and all the projects I've worked on have been in Media Composer 6.5 or MC 7, or occasionally in FCP 7. But I love using Premiere when I edit my own (non-broadcast) projects. And several producers I know are wary of staying with the discontinued FCP 7, don't like FCP X, and aren't thrilled with Media Composer either. So...I'm wondering if Premiere is a viable option for us.
Please note that I do NOT want to have a general discussion or flamewar here about which NLE is "best," whether Adobe's rental system is good or bad, or whether FCP X is brilliant or a disaster. I really don't want to talk about any of that.
Instead, what I DO want is to learn from those of you who have tried it, how well in practice does Premiere CC work in this kind of project? Specifically:
1) Does it work smoothly with EditShare so multiple editors can work together?
2) How reliable and straightforward is the offline/online workflow (so that screener footage can be replaced by master footage, etc.)?
3) Associate producers and archival researchers often ask me for EDLs of the latest cut (which I clean up in MS Word to make more readable). How reliable is EDL export from a complex Premiere project?
4) We often work with online houses that rely on Avid Symphony for color correction. Is that a no-go for a Premiere project? Or is there some way to get from Premiere into Symphony? If not, is Resolve the preferred tool?
5) We typically keep a Filemaker Pro database to keep track of stills and archival footage. Can we import a lot of image metadata from Filemaker into a Premiere bin the way we do with MC 7?
5) What other issues and problems have you faced in doing this?
6) On the flip side, what are the real advantages?
Again, I'm interested in hearing others' personal experiences. I can read online a lot about how it's SUPPOSED to work. But in my experience, there are always quirks and issues that are not in the documentation that you can only learn through trial and error, or through asking here on the ever-valuable and helpful COW.
Thanks in advance! We do - but generally with a different workflow. I can't answer all your questions but a few thoughts. ps. We mostly do short —not feature length— projects.
• For online we most often export the sequence (or a series of sequences) at PR444 with an EDL. Haven't found an online house primed for Premiere in a way that would make it easier than that. (again: generally 5-10min long projects.)
• Premiere CC 2014 is a nightmare. CC was great. But recently upgraded to 2014 and have had nothing but problems related to the app crashing. It only seems to happen on projects that include either mixed media or large files that require caching (for us .MXF files.) Haven't received any helpful advice on how to fix.
• Haven't used Avid in a while but the metadata works great for us in Premiere. The integration with Adobe Story is excellent: doc interview set-up, transcribe dialog, import into Story, synch with Premiere and: get an interactive metadata script that can be searched and clicked (word by word) to the related point in the footage.
• Have also found that the integration with AE —turning a clip into an AE composition in the timeline with one click— is one of the more flawless features. Works great for quick clean-up or adjustments to footage.
Hope this helps. -

When listening to Fireworks by Katie Perry the base notes Sound raspy and distorted even though th eq is set to flat. I have tried 2 studio monitor headphones when listening and the raspy sound appears with both. The distorted sound from the downloaded song from itunes doesn't show up when listening to it on the computer. No other songs that have been downloaded from CDs onto my ipod classic seem to have this problem. Has anyone else run across this and how did you fix it?

Has anyone run Photoshop after installing Yosemite?
I'm considering installing Yosemite in my Mid-2012 MacBook Pro 15"/Retina and I'm sure that most of the Apple apps will work fine, but I'm not so sure about the third party applications. My most important 3rd party app is Photoshop CS6. Has anyone installed Yosemite and had good luck running PS/CS6?
TomHi !
Running CS5 after upgrade to Yosemite. I had to install "Java for OS X 2014-001" and after this install, all working fine !
