Has anyone seen a virus that adds a file extension .zzz to all files?

When upgrading the firmware, I received an error message "cant find kvm" althought it read the kvm --- the installation failed
firmware: KVM 3.02 TO KVM 3.03
Reason for upgrade is due to the KVM not being able to read some of the machines
Please advice if anyone has experience this issue or similar.
The device is the Trendnet TK 1603R running on Windows
Thanks

Howdy,I'm trying to come up with a way to use Spiceworks as a multi level ticketing system. We have our Tier 1 people who look at every ticket that comes in and then they either work it or assign it to a different team to work on. Spiceworks doesn't seem to support this out of the box so I'm trying to simulate the same thing. Some options I came up with are:Create a "Team" field to populate with the teams we have (Tier 1, Tier 2, Security, etc). Tier 1 people can select the proper team and I can create a custom view to view each team's tickets. Problem with this is no email notifications are sent out since the assignee doesn't get changed so no one knows when a ticket was escalated to their team. Is there any way to code a custom notification email to a certain group when the Team gets changed?
Have Tier 1 know who is On Call for each...

  • Has anyone seen a Component that Creates a Transition Like This?

Has anyone seen a Flash Component that creates a slide transition similar to this... http://www.silversea.com/
Looks like there is a looping background image and the other slides are loaded above it (hopefully via XML?) and the transition effect maybe in a component???
    Thanks for any assistance!

It looks like the black and white image for the transition sits atop the others and the transition involves masks being moved over that black and white image to reveal it and hide it.  The color imagery is switched out behind it.
I believe this is a handcrafted piece, not involving any component, though it might be something one could buy as a ready-made product that accepts different imagery via xml.

I heard that there was a problem with Apple being vulnerable to Hackers. Has anyone seen an update for this issue? My IPad received the update last night but I have not seen anything for Safari.

Mac OS X 10.9.2 was released today for this issue and others. Earlier versions are not affected.
See this Apple article - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6114
You can use the Mac app store to do the update or download it directly from here - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1725
    Best of luck.

Has anyone seen a list(diagram/mind map/chart) of all the technologies that make up java.
Such as beans, JSF, struts, JSP, servlets, etc....

Useless. What makes up Java is the JDK and the JRE - everything else is BUILT using Java technology. Imagine if you'd ask a list of everything that "makes up" C/C++, how long would that list be? Well the Java list might not be as long, but it is still long enough for you to not care.
Perhaps you want to be more specific. Do you want to have a list of all common web oriented frameworks perhaps?

  • Has anyone seen this behaviour of AccessHW In Port?

Yesterday I was trying to check the operation of a plug-in PCMCIA parallel port, specifically I wanted to know if there were any timing issues with this device on an XP machine, so I thought I would try the AccessHW In and Out functions in Labview. I installed an old copy of Labview 6.1 (It was 5:50PM and I wanted to do this fast!) and tried it.
Reading the memory location where the device's status port was supposed to be just returned zero. Strange, I thought, so I tried some other addresses in the I/O range. I got zero from every single one. I tried the same on my own laptop, which is also XP, and I was getting sensible numbers from addresses in I/O space.
Has anyone seen this behaviour? The machine has McAffee on-access protection running, which cannot be disabled (company IT policy), and I have a suspicion that this might be blocking accesses to low memory, is this possible?

Sorry... my mind is not working well this morning   You had mentionned that in your original post and the fact that it is a PCMCIA parallel port.
As for the address location, I have seen addresses in the 0x2000 region for add-on parallel ports (not PCMCIA).
I haven't used a PMCIA device with Win-XP.  Does the address info for that port appear under properties when you look at the HW devices within the Control Panel's System.  From what I can recall, you can change the PCMCIA serial port number within the HW device, so maybe the properties will list the address..
    Have you checked this?

  • Pop-up window with an attempt to open a URL - has anyone seen this?

I was browsing a website for music lyrics when a suspicious pop-up appeared, along with a very small browser window (about an inch square on the screen). This has happened twice even though I have pop-ups blocked.
The pop-up had the Safari icon and looked like a standard mac window. The text contained the following:
    <edited by host>
Antivirus 2009 will perform a quick and 100% free
scan of your computer for Viruses, Spyware and Adware.
Do you want to install Antivirus 2009 to scan your
    computer for malware now? (Recommended)
There is a cancel and an OK button at the bottom.
The small browser window appears to be contacting the onlineprivatescan.com URL
I did a force-quit because I did not want to click either button.
I reset Safari, and ran the DNSChanger Removal Tool
from macupdate, but it didn't find anything. I have not loaded codecs from any websites and I had just completed the latest Apple updates for OSX, Quicktime and iTunes before this problem occured.
Has anyone seen this? Is this serious? I've never had any problems with Safari before this.

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger automatically checks your downloads for malicious software and content that could harm your system or collect information from your computer. You can read more about that here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2340
If you feel you need added protection, read on:
SecureMac has introduced a free Trojan Detection Tool for Mac OS X. It's available here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The DNSChanger Removal Tool detects and removes spyware targeting Mac OS X. Called DNSChanger Trojan and also known as OSX.RSPlug.A Trojan Horse, the software attacks users attempting to play a fake video file.
Upon attempting to play the video, the victim receives the following message:
“Quicktime Player is unable to play movie file.
Please click here to download new version of codec.”
Upon running the installer, the user's DNS records are modified, redirecting incoming internet traffic through the attacker's servers, where it can be hijacked and injected with malicious websites and pornographic advertisements. The trojan also installs a watchdog process that ensures the victim's DNS records stay modified on a minute-by-minute basis.
SecureMac's DNSChanger Removal Tool allows users to check to see if the trojan has been installed on their computer; if it has, the software helps to identify and remove the offending file. After a system reboot, the users' DNS records will be repaired.
There may be other ways of guarding against Trojans, viruses and general malware affecting the Mac. A white paper has recently been published on the subject by SubRosaSoft, available here:
    http://www.macforensicslab.com/ProductsAndServices/index.php?mainpage=document_general_info&cPath=11&productsid=174
    Also, beware of MacSweeper:
MacSweeper is malware that misleads users by exaggerating reports about spyware, adware or viruses on their computer. It is the first known "rogue" application for the Mac OS X operating system. The software was discovered by F-Secure, a Finland based computer security software company on January 17, 2008
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacSweeper
On June 23, 2008 this news reached Mac users:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/23/mac_trojan/
More information on Mac security can be fund here:

More on Trojans on the Mac here:
    http://www.technewsworld.com/story/63574.html?welcome=1214487119
The latest news on the subject, from July 25, 2008, is:
Attack code that exploits flaws in the net's addressing system are starting to circulate online, say security experts.
The code could be a boon to phishing gangs who redirect web users to fake bank sites and steal login details.
In light of the news net firms are being urged to apply a fix for the loop-hole before attacks by hi-tech criminals become widespread.
Net security groups say there is anecdotal evidence that small scale attacks are already happening.

This sounds like a virus or malware program that has made its way onto your computer.  I would ensure you have the latest virus definitions on your computer and run a thorough (complete) scan of your system.  If this doesn't work, I would suggest  you use Microsoft's Malware Removal Tool.  You can download it at the link below.   Hope this helps.

  • My iPad will not connect to a computer with the cable which  means no updates or down loads. I have tried new cables and different computers. Has anyone seen this before?

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Possibly. Do you have other devices and will they connect?
One possible thing that it could be is that the USB port on your iPad has gone bad. It happened to mine. Couldn't sync, could barely charge (it said 'not charging' even when plugged into the wall)
I'd take it to the apple store, see if they can replicate it, and if they can, then they can diagnose it. Just back it up before you go, in case they do exchange it.

  • Itunes doesn't display graphics, only text, has anyone seen this?

Just loaded iTunes 10.5 on Windows...only TEXT is displayed...has anyone seen this?

I have this exact problem, and it occurs on every device I own: iMac, Macbook, iPad, Win 7. The explanation for the issue is that the stylesheet isn't coming over (.CSS).
Because it occurs on every device in my house, I'm assuming there's something in my wireless router configuration that's causing it. I haven't found the issue yet, but I'm digging through my modem configuration to see.
go to either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1
That's your modem's IP address. If you can figure out what's in the configuration that's causing it, please post back.

  • TS3276 "message failed because you have exceeded your sending limit."  Has anyone seen this before & what does it mean?

What does this mean?  Has anyone seen before?

Most e-mail servers impose limits on how many messages you can send per day and how many different e-mail addresses you can send messages to per day. This is a measure to prevent spam, and you're unlikely to hit those limits unless you're sending messages to a very large group of people. Generally, those limits are somewhere in the hundreds.
If you haven't been sending that much e-mail, or to that many recipients, then your e-mail account may have been hacked and used to send spam. See:
Someone is sending messages from my e-mail address!

I even changed my video card and still had the same issue? has anyone seen this or know how to fix this issue?
I tried to show a screen capture but didnt have any luck but the issue is alot of my icons are showing pink lines on them and when in certain application and safari the pictures are showing up all pixelated with pink and green pixels instead of displaying the correct image? is it possible the AGP slot is bad? i just upgraded to 10.5.8 hoping to correct the problem but no luck. Also this is a Power PC 1.8 ghz.
    Thank You

I wasn't notified that you asked me a question or that there was a new post on this topic. I should have been, that bugs me.
    Anyhow... Mr. Ah
The problem that some people, mostly with a certain video card, were having was when they updated from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5. For many of them the problem went away when they went through the hassle of reverting back to 10.5.4.
Did you +just recently+ update to 10.5.5? If you have, then their fix is for you too, going back to 10.5.4. If you have had 10.5.5 installed for a while now, and this just started happening, chances are good that it is your video card, or perhaps something affecting it like dust and dirt like DP says above.
If you have another start up drive, firewire or internal, and you had enough space on it you might consider installing a previous OS 10.5 on there and start up from it. If the problem went away you would know it's 10.5.5. Perhaps even if you started up from your OS disc the problem might go away and again you'd know it was 10.5.5. Apple was made aware of the problem on some machines and said they were going to come out with a fix, but I don't think they ever did.
Post back and say what the situation is, especially if you just recently updated to 10.5.5.
And post back with what kind of G5 you have, look in the "About this Mac" window.
Your card may be dying, but on the other hand it might be as easy as pulling it out, blowing it out, and putting the card back in again.

  • Has anyone seen evidence of corrections being made to Maps?

If it was just you, then it would be understandable because Apple might be swamped with requests to correct their Maps app and they might be attending to other users' requests first.
That scenario would be awesome, because it would mean that there are corrections being made, even if they are not yours. But there is a problem. Everybody I've asked hasn't seen ANY corrections done. I hope this is not true.
So.... the question is: Can we find evidence of any corrections at all? Even one correction?
When we look at the millions... MILLIONS of user correction requests, has anyone seen a SINGLE correction done out of MILLIONS of requests.  Because ZERO out of MILLIONS of requests would be very bad.
I want the Maps app to improve. I'm cheering Apple and supporting Apple. If the Maps app improves, then I would be happy and Apple users would be happy. The question is: has anyone seen any corrections??
I'm hoping there are many examples out there of people seeing corrections.

  • Has anyone seen this MacBook Pro 15" 2008 problem before?

Hi. My MacBook Pro has developed a fault whereby a horizontal line appears on the screen, the mac freezes then a host of vertical lines gradually appear on the screen until it is obscured. Something similar happened in May last year and Apple charged me over £300 to repair it, replacing the 'mother board'.
I have so far taken it into the Apple shop twice in the last week (a two hour round trip). Both times they have opened it, cleaned it and declared it fixed. This time it lasted about an hour before happening again, although this time at least I've been able to restart it.
Has anyone seen this before, or have any advice about how best to proceed?
I have put a video of the symptoms here:
