Has anyone set up a Solaris 7 LDAP client to use with iPlanet DS 5.0? I have only found docs for compiling OpenLDAP and have had NO LUCK with it. I can't get an LDAP client to run.
I am trying Not to have 3 separate versions of LDAP in my environment (iDS5,Native Solaris LDAP,OpenLDAP). Can anyone point me to some DETAILED instructions to get an LDAP client (not server) running on Solaris 7?

While U try to upgrade solaris it first tries to check the installed softtware & application and patch's specific to the exsisting version b'coz these patch are specific to version in most cases.Since in Ur case the authentication is done in ldap it would become bit of a mess if U upgrade.

You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.

However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on. -

The app I bought I wanted it to zip a file video so I could get the video off my iPhone cause it took up all my hard drive space and it wouldn't zip a file from my phone like I understood it did. I would really appreciate some help. I had to catch a train yesterday and I had previously bought my tickets online. I had to access my booking reference before I could collect my tickets at the station. I found- to my horror- that my yahoo emails had been wiped clean! Curiously enough, my other email was unaffected. I had to buy a new ticket which was very expensive. On getting home, I checked my email and found that it was unaffected, so it must be a problem with my phone and not the email itself. May I know I can get my emails back and if I can claim compensation for my tickets? Very unpleasent experience!

RL1This is almost exclusively a user to user forum, but for what it's worth I doubt you can get reimbursed. There are various things that might have happened. It's the nature of the digital world, not just BlackBerry.
Going forward save important emails to the device. It would be wise to copy and paste critical information into notepad, just in case.

So then I do these cmds which produce the exact same error/reply just above; Unable to load..:

Then I do cmd:

does nothing, retry the other commands same thing (either nothing or those same replies)
Then I read (http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5384879) someone had the same problem as I and they solved it by uninstalling all Java/reboot/ then install JDK 6 Update 14 with NetBeans 6.5.1 start NetBeans and then it worked for them.
So I unistalled all Java, rebooted and gave the cmd another try (before re-installing), now a new error, of course:
C:\062>java -jar soht-client-0.6.2.jar
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
Then I install Java SE and NetBeans Cobundle (JDK 6u14 and NB 6.5.1) Final Release/ reboot/ open Netbeans/
go to test java page; all is good, run cmds again -and still nothing..
C:\062>java -version
java version "1.6.0_14"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)

Taggert77_: I have never used NetBeans. I only installed it in the bundle as I had read on another post that somehow installing the bundle magically helped another user with the same problem (he didn't know why it worked after that either).
Before XP SP3 I was able to execute .jar file through cmd prompt. Now I am not.

Again, that's not a problem - if you purchase Mountain Lion through the App Store, it's been updated to 10.8.2 - and when there are other updates available, you can just download and install them as well.
Just go to the App Store and purchase and install ML. Then run Software Update (Apple menu) to see if there are any updates available for your machine. I keep my System Preferences>Software Update prefs set to check automatically -
Some people would rather check manually. No big deal, just buy it and install it.

'Remote' app requirements are stated as "software version 3.1.3 or later". I am running 4.2.1 and when I try to download it says 4.3 required.

This is standard for Apple. While there is little official mention of the software support lifespan for equipment, typical support has been about 4-5 years for computers. It strikes me that newer items, especially mobile devices, are not built as sturdily nor do they have the hardware upgrade capabilities required to keep up with newer systems. When we bought an iPhone 4S we were told by the person in the store we'd probably be looking at a newer model in two years. The iPhone 3G could be anywhere from 2 to 4 years old, putting it well into.
As for app availability, Apple typically pulls old software versions from its site when new versions appear. If it is a non-Apple app then I guess it is up to the vendor. It is indeed tiresome but it is not at all unusual. Since I only ever run used Macs, I download current versions even though my computer won't run them, stick them on a hard drive, then I have them when I upgrade to a newer used computer. If you run older equipment you have to learn a different mode of operation to exist with the Apple 'new and innovative' but 'forget about the old' philosophy. -
Issue with Illustrator CS6 - can't get it to run
Since a couple of weeks ago, I have an issue with Illustrator CS6 - can't get it to run When starting the application I get the following error:

I'm running it on Windows 8 (x64). I have multiple other Adobe applications installed, which are running fine. I've tried solving the issue with reinstalling Illustrator - multiple times. My GPU driver is updated to the latest version.I have this issue as well on my Mac and called tech support 4 times and they can't fix it. Adobe has really gone down hill in a short amount of time!!
Only thing that worked (as a temporary fix) is to create a new user and toggle back and forth between two users which is very annoying. Adobe has tried uninstalling, reinstalling, taking over my computer remotely, trashing plugins, verifying permissions but the fact remains that we bought CS6 four weeks ago and Illustrator doesn't work.
I'm going on Facebook to let others know.....don't buy Adobe, it doesn't work and they don't know how to fix. -
I have a client that uses Windows that has recently told me she can no longer open the PDFs I send her. I can't find this elusive "Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments" setting that I have read may solve my problem. Can someone get me there?

It was from InDesign that I was creating the shared pdfs. I was one of two Mac drivers in a corporate sea of Win users and had to make the change I mentioned in order for the Win users to see my pdfs for review. The difference from what you appear to be doing was that were all on an MS Exchange Server so the files were shared over the company's Exchange Server e-mail system. However, some of these files occasionally went to outside users via regular e-mail and those people had no issues either.
So what I did was tested and worked for years.
You might look at the Adobe forums or Knowledge Base to see if that is a reported issue with newer version of CS. I was on CS2 when I was doing this, and the other Mac driver was on CS3 but had no problems either.
Some Win users I've talked to find a problem opening some pdfs (not mine) in general and found they had to open Reader first and them open the file from Reader's File menu. That most often happened if the client was using an outdated version of Reader.
