Has anyone  used a 3rd party service called MQUBE?

My last Verizon Wireless bill shows a charge of $9.99 for a 3rd pary vendor called MQUBE.  I did not purchase this service and the charge has been removed.  But there are lots of complaints about the company - see http://classactionconnect.com/cell_phone_issues/2007/08/30/m-qube-complaints/
Have you used this service or had problems with it?  If it is as unprincipled as that website suggests, Verizon Wireless should be made aware of it!

    AL_Peggy,
Phew! Glad that charge has been removed for you. And thanks for being proactive to make us aware of the situation. As you can imagine, we only want to set up our customer for success going forward. There are third-party services, and you should use Google to find them, and reviews of their services.

  • Has anyone tried a 3rd party laptop cooling pad?

I have had my macbookpro 2.16 for about 2 1/2 weeks now, temp averages at about 40c during what i normally do, but the base of it is still too hot to comfortablly use on my lap. I have been using a large book as a buffer for the heat, recently I saw some 3rd party cooling pads with fans in them, running of USB power, has anyone tried one?

I use Vantec Lapcool 4. It folds and quite small for transporting (fits nicely into my bag). It uses 2 fans powered either by USB or by AC. Also adds 4 USB ports.
It makes about 10C defference. Since it keeps the case cooler and MBP doesn't build up heat like it used to, so works quite well.
The only con I've found is that the MBP slips a bit on the pad so I bought a package of small, clear, self-adhiesive, non-slip rubber cushions to put on the bottom of the lappad (~$2@Home Depot). Now MBP sits securely without any slippage.

  • Has anyone used Timpsons phone repair service for a replacement screen on iPhone 4S?

My iPhone 4S has a. cracked screen, but still works OK.
Can anyone comment on Timpsons repair service?  It will cost £40 for the repair, but they do use real glass, not just a plastic screen.

If your phones is in waranty then thats a bad move. Other wise I cannot comment on non Apple repairs, and dont feel this forum is the best place for that. iPhones use specially toughened  glass with a Oleophobic coating, I would not trust 'glass' to be that. Also if you break your phones dies and you need a out of warranty replacement you wont get one buy going down this path.

  • Has anyone used Migration Assistant to move services from one system running Server to a new system?

So, I've purchased a Mac mini to replace my aging Mid 2009 mini on which I've been running Mavericks Server.  In trying to answer the question of how best to move services from the old machine to the new, I've stumbled into the fact that Migration Assistant can apparently migrate not just user data for workstations and laptops, but also service data for servers.  The problem is there isn't much detail in the docs about how good a job it does when going from one machine to another without changing OS releases.  There's a very detailed document in the KB about going from older versions of Server to new (OS X Server: Upgrade and migration from Lion Server or Snow Leopard Server) and a general doc on migrating from another Mac under Mavericks (OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks) but that has no details about Server.
Has anyone used Migration Assistant to move services from one system running Server to a new system?  Are there any details that are particularly important to get right?  Are there things that require manual steps after Migration Assistant is done?
There are other ways I could tackle the problem, of course.  I could simply swap drives between the systems, but the new system has two drives that are bigger, faster, and I intend to mirror them.  That would complicate such an approach.  I'd really like to keep the conversation constrained to a discussion of Migration Assistant as the primary method.

yes. I migrated a server frm lion to mavericks following these notes a while back:
OS X Server: Upgrade and migration from Mountain Lion
i do not recall having any problems with it.

  • Has anyone used the Essbase XTD Spreadsheet Services?

Is the Essbase Spreadsheet Services an additional cost above and beyond the spreadsheet add-in?Has anyone used this product in addition to or in place of the existing spreadsheet add-in?What have you found are the added benefits of this product? Any lost functionality or issues with using this over the current spreadsheet add-in.If we upgrade to Essbase 6.5 is this the 'new' spreadsheet add-in or is it optional? Thanks!Lisa

To try to answer the questions in order:Q: Is the Essbase Spreadsheet Services an additional cost above and beyond the spreadsheet add-in? A: I believe ESS is licensed separately - I don't know if this has or will change in the future, so yes it does cost above and beyond Essbase.Q: Has anyone used this product in addition to or in place of the existing spreadsheet add-in? A: I used it during the beta, and I work with it from time to time, but I have not implemented it in production anywhere as of yet.Q:What have you found are the added benefits of this product? Any lost functionality or issues with using this over the current spreadsheet add-in. A: The main benefits are that you can now connect to your Essbase servers (via Essbase Enterprise Services) over HTTP, which means you don't need TCP connectivity. You could have users around the world and as long as they can see the web server running the service, they can connect.Another benefit is you don't need to install the Essbase runtime on the user's PC. The "add in" can be a CAB file that self installs when the user hits a page you set up. A nice bonus in a large widely dispersed user community. As far as functionality goes, I believe the will be parallel (the beta did not have EIS drill through). The major downer is performance - it is slower than the normal add-in with larger reports.Q: If we upgrade to Essbase 6.5 is this the 'new' spreadsheet add-in or is it optional? A: No - the normal add-in is still the default. ESS requires additional software/configurations (particulary EES, Java App Server) to be used.Regards,Jade-----------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

Thanks Kappy, I let it do the scan and when it stopped halfway through and demanded registration I stopped and deleted it.  I still have the icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen and don't know how to remove it.  If this is not possible I can live with it.  I am new to Mac and have trouble divorcing myself from my old PC habits!

  • Calling 3rd party service in ABAP

    Hello Experts,
I am looking at a scenario, where I need to develop webservice which may invoke 3rd party services for some address verification purpose.
Do we generally create  RFC expoed as webservice or model service in PI and then implement it in ABAP?
Also, do we need to create consumer proxies for 3rd party service or any other way possible in XI/PI?
I want to know how does the whole scenario typically developed?
    Regards,
    Damandeep

    Hi,
If you have PI in scope, I would recommend including it in the scenario. So basically develop a SOAP to Proxy scenario in PI (or SOAP to RFC, but I would prefer the first one because of monitoring purposes). Try searching SDN to find multiple examples.
    Hope this helps,
    Greg

  • I used a 3rd party to move thunderbird files but can't remember what it was called

I used a 3rd party program to move my thunderbird files a few years ago but can't remember what it was. It worked very well and would like to use again. I think it was mozip or something like that.

There is an add-on to TB which allows import and export of emails in various formats to a separate storage medium (external disk, thumb drive, etc.).
The instructions on how to download and install it can be found at http://barryduggan.info/exportMail.php

Port Forwarding.....or Port Mapping....as Apple calls it is a difficult and complex configuration method for most users. Because there are so many variables involved in this type of setup, it is not possible to provide a step by step guide that will work for everyone with all devices.
It is possible that a setup guide exists for the the WD drive and AirPort Extreme, but you will have to go looking for it on the Internet. Even if you find one, it may not be tailored to your specific situation or needs.
Sometimes, you can do everything right....at least according to someone's article or "how to" guide, and things still will not work correctly.
In situations like this, when you really don't know what to do, you need to enlist the aid of an IT pro, who will know what to do based on your particular products and unique circumstances. Sometimes....they won't be able to get things working either due to particular circumstances.
But, before you do this, I would strongly recommend that you use a Static IP address for your Internet connection with your ISP. If you do not have this now, contact them to ask them if they offer this type of connection. Expect to pay more for this type of service, of course.

  • Has anyone used "Microsoft.BizTalk.B2B.PartnerManagement" API ?

Hello, forum; trying to make sense of that undocumented API library to create an agreement using BizTalk 2010. So far, I can create a Partner, Business Profiles, Business Identities and Partnerships, but how to create an agreement (onewayagreements and all
that) still eludes me. I have checked one reference, it was written by Mick Breeze (http://blogs.breeze.net/mickb/2012/05/22/BizTalk2010CreatingTPMPartnersThroughCode.aspx),
and also getting inspired by the newest published in here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/dn232396.aspx) which is not the same but at least it's something.
I have navigated through the classes but I can't manage to do all the tasks that it is suppose to achieve.
Has anyone used this before that may be able to help ? Is there any SDK sample of some sort ?
    Thanks in advance.

Partner automation. The user wants to use an asp.net form instead of using biztalk admin console, in order to create and update a large party database, the total count rounding between 300 to 500 partners, so, we have already a webform with all business
related information and we've add some port related information that will ultimately end up as the party information. With that info, this library should be able to accomplish everything we normally do from the console.
We are not migrating from a previous version, so the party migration tools is a no-go. We explored the idea of creating a binding-like file that would be loaded from BtsTask, but ultimately, we end up with the idea of using this obscure library to perform
all those so called duties of handling party related information on biztalk server.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Has anyone used ProEDI?

We are in the process of getting rid of our 3rd party translator (subsystem) and have our own in house translator. We have picked ProEDI to do the job for us. Has anyone used this tool? If so please share your experience.
How was the mapping experience? Do you have to know EDI segments to be able to do this. I do understand my IDoc segments but not the EDI segments (example - BIG, PID, N1,Gibberish)
If you are like me never heard about it before; check this out - http://www.proedi.com

Be careful with this.  You can easily delete albums you didn't want to.
I had music scattered all over my laptop and was advised to us a function in ITunes to locate and convert all the music to my iTunes library.  Here's what I did:   "file/add folder to Library/click on C:drive" and iTunes should do the rest.  Boy did it.  It found all the music and a whole bunch of other stuff and jammed it alongside my existing library.  In the process...it duplicated nearly every song THREE TIMES.  Now I have 4 of everything.
Deduping as shown above will kill all the music I wanted to consolidate that wasn't already in my ITunes library.
