Has anyone went directly from 1.1.4 to 2.01?

I didn't upgrade to 2.0 when it came out because I was burned by apple with the leopard update locking me out of my original user ID. Now that the update is out I am wondering if it is safe to go ahead but I want to check and see if anyone has had a bad experience with this. Thanks

I wish I still had 1.1.4! I just upgraded to 2.0.1. Like you, I waited to hear the reviews, and did not load 2.0 prior to the 2.0.1 version. Problems I have experienced since then:
*Loss of WiFi recognition. I used to be able to locate & join more WiFi networks. My phone now can't find networks I had joined on 1.1.4. My husband, on his 3G with 2.0, had no problem locating & joining it.
*Multiple crashes when browsing the Web or while using Apps. Any information I entered (for Apps) is lost each time.
*Inexplicable black careen of death when I swiped my phone to answer a phone call. Pretty scary! I did nothing out of the norm; I was answering a call, have minimal (5) Apps purchased from the Apps Store, am in the US and am an AT&T customer. No 3rd party/ unauthorized downloads. The black creaan stayed...I presses the off button and nothing. I pressed the home button and nothing. I did a hard ersent (off+home) and after a minute or two, my phone came back to life. I called the person who called me back, but the person said I kept breaking up and the connection was static-y. Tried restoring it today to my 1.1.4 saved version but, (DO NOT EVER LISTEN TO SALES PERSONS IN APPLE STORES!!!), it cannot go back once you have upgraded. I was assured I could if I did not like it and found I cannot. It took about 4 hours and several restores. Stayed eternally on "syncing contacts." UGH!! Finally I restored it as a new phone. Luckily I had Mac.com, so my contacts & calender were saved. If you do not have that, back up everything before you try chaning your firmware!
*Keystrokes are slower and phone still does the brief black screen on Apps.
I WISH I could get 1.1.4 back. I would at this time, based on my own experiences, advise against it. Whatever you choose, good luck!

I'm having the same buffering issues that other users are having when I try to stream a short video from my Iphone 4S to my Apple TV
Has anyone heard back from Apple on this bug ?

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • HT204347 Has anyone ever booted from an external drive? System 10X6+

Has anyonetried to boot computer with removable drives? or any body knows?
My super drive broke down. I replaced it with external.  How do you boot from this drive. Pressing "C" is ineffective?
don't have another Mac, so Target Disk Mode is not an option. Any advice ?  I paid 80.00 for the same problem the last time.  I ran this progam bundled with the drive  called DriveGenius to rid my hard drive of binarys (Intel and 64) localizations, duplicates within the system, and what I thought were two systems, a 10X6.8 and 10X63. When the .8 wasn't working right, and I couldn't fix it-or find an answer for it--I figured I would go back to the 10X6.3  But no. I changed it in the system preferences (only the dock responded to commands and the tab bar's secondary files. so I rebooted. Nothing but I blue screen.  I know it doesn't have to be erased, like they did before. for $80.00 and waiting 4 days something they 'fixed' in 20 min?
Thanks for you comments and advice in advance. Thanks for listening.  I'm using the PC I had before, and I'm wondering has anyone tried or heard of using PC to/from Mac?  I have Drive Genius and it boots for both system. The CD?DVD drive is broken here too.  so we're back to the 1 st question

I wonder... Can you use the carburator from your Grampa's wheels on your new car? "No way!", you'll say; it's a whole different ballgame. But you can still use the stereo, the speakers (if not busted) or even  the GPS, right? Maybe the core of the old vehicle (engine & its management, transmission, chassis, suspension) can't be used in a modern car, but many of the accessories can. Same thing here: the newest Macs have the latest from Intel, which is a world apart from processors 2-3 generations ago. And the Operating System that talks directly to the hardware has to follow suit.
At First Start, the Setup Assistant did give you the option to migrate your stuff from the older computer. Were it a Mac, settings, files and compatible applications could have been transferred over (in many cases, even with their registrations or activation codes). Had it been a PC, only files and compatible settings could have likewise moved over. If that wasn't taken advantage of at the time, two options remain for getting the stuff over without too much hassle:
Run Migration Assistant and use that instead. Migrating user accounts and files contained in their Home directories can be tricky if they are named the same as those already on the new Mac, but apps and non-personal files (not in duplicated Home directories) can transfer fine.
Reinstall the OS to redo the First Start.
And FYI, a new Mac from last week will ONLY run the latest Mavericks.

  • Has anyone picked materials from one storage location but confirmed TO to different storage location?

The business does not want to use MRP areas to segregate materials between service part and production. What they want to do is separate service parts on deliveries at our shipping storage types (915/916) from MRP view. This requirement is primarily for our international shipping area. We may pick parts for an international shipment and the parts will sit on the delivery - not goods issued because we don't want to invoice - for up to 3 months. During that time, MRP sees the inventory so replenishment is not done in a timely fashion or parts may get stolen from the shipment for a production requirement because the inventory is seen.
Could one solution be to create a non-MRP relevant storage location (say 1200) and place the shipping storage types in this storage location?  Then when the transfer order creates, the system would show the source to be from the MRP relevant SLoc (1100), stype (130), bin (A-01-A), - these are examples - with the destination to be to non-MRP relevant SLoc 1200, stype 915, bin (dynamic using the delivery number) 0080745298? Has anyone had this type of request or know of a way to satisfy the business requirements without different MRP areas? They also do not want to have two transfer orders - one with a 601 movement and one with a 311 movement.
Any known solutions or outside-the-box thinking would greatly appreciated.
    Marla

I don't have the solution, just some critical questions and hints
Even a non-MRP relevant storage location can be warehouse managed.
The stock is shown in any stock list as long it is not goods issued, no matter if it is stored in a
    non-MRP relevant storage location.
Stock that is picked for a delivery is not available for others, it is reserved. A delivery is a MRP element and hence should be taken into consideration in the planning run.
A non-MRP relevant storage location will only solve your planning issues if you move the material there if it is not yet picked  and allocated to a delivery.
Do your thieves really use SAP to check if the stock is there, or do they just see the stock in the warehouse? As said, the non-MRP relevant storage location will not solve this issue since the stock is still visible.

  • Has anyone upgraded GRCPINW from V1000_731 to V1100_731?

    Hi Experts,
The business would like to upgrade the current GRCPINW V1000_731 to V1100_731. Has anyone successfully upgraded this components?
I have downloaded the media CD51046221, and see the upgrade and install files therein. But the saint tool doesn't see the files when I place the uncarred files into EPS/in. So just want to know if anyone has been able to do so successfully.
SAP also suggests to use the same media and use the installation option instead of upgrade. But when I try this option I get this error:
There is currently only SP04 available on the marketplace but it asks for SP05.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Asad

    Hi Johny,
    Thanks for replying.
I have downloaded and placed the files in EPS/in but it doesn't like it. I used SUM to try to get it upgraded but I am getting the below error which looks like the same as we saw in SAINT:
    Thanks,

  • Error 0x80070002 when Task Apply OS has "Access content directly from the distribution point" checked

When I check "Access content directly from the distribution point" for the "Apply Operating System" task in my OSD Task Sequence, I get the failed error 0x80070002 at the step when running the sequence from WinPE.
If I uncheck it, I don't get that error or have any problems.
I've ensured that in the properties of my OS Image in the Data Access that "Copy the content in this package to a package share on distribution points" is checked, and that I Updated DPs.
Am I missing any other settings?
The reason I'm trying to do this is because the "Download" speed of the WIM is incredibly slow. I already installed a hotfix (KB2905002) that fixed this for my Dell systems, but it's not speeding it up for another computer model I'm imaging in
the same way. The Dell computers, after I installed the server hotfix, will downloading the .wim file at 1% per second. However the HP thin clients I'm imaging download at about 1% every 15 seconds, and I'm not sure if that's due to their hardware or what.

    Hi,
The error means file not found. So you need to check the smsts.log to see which DP it is accessing, then go to that DP to check the Shared Folder smspkg to make sure the file is there.
For the download performance issue, there are various reasons. You need to check your Switch bandiwidth and if the NIC driver is up to date. If downloading locally is slow, Accessing directly could be slow too.

  • Has anyone even heard from Apple regarding the iWeb1.1 problems?

I am curious to know if anyone has contacted tech support via phone or email and received some form of response to this rediculous problem eveyone is experiencing, and if so, what is their response?
I was about to call tech support and/por write but if everyone else has, why waste my time.

Here is the reply I got from Apple, the solutions do not work by the way :-
    Dear Ian,
    Thank you for contacting Apple.
We noticed that your request for assistance was sent directly to the .Mac Support email address, [email protected]. To ensure your request is received with the appropriate information, please, in the future, process all requests through the forms available at .Mac Support on the web, <http://www.apple.com/support/dotmac/>.
Based on the information you provided, we understand you are unable to publish your iWeb site to .Mac, receiving alternating errors.
To troubleshoot this issue, first attempt to publish your iWeb site to A folder on your Desktop by selecting File > Publish to Folder.
If you are unable to successfully publish your iWeb site to a folder on your Desktop, there may an issue with your site data or the iWeb application itself. To troubleshoot this issue further, please contact AppleCare as .Mac Support answers questions concerning the online aspects of iWeb sites published to the .Mac servers.
iWeb support can be found at <http://www.apple.com/support/iweb>. If you require assistance beyond what is available online, the Technical Support team can be reached at 800-275-2273 from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. CST every day. Please note that a per-incident fee may be associated with obtaining assistance from Tech Support. Your Tech Support representative will be able to determine what cost, if any, would be charged for the call.
If you are able to successfully publish your iWeb site to a folder on your Desktop and continue to receive the error "There was an error reading your iDisk quota," we first recommend that you back up the iWeb data file. If you already have this file backed up, you may skip to "Resolving the issue" below.
To locate the iWeb data file:
    1. From the Finder menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder.
    2. Type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named Domain. This file may also appear as Domain.sites, but we will refer to it as Domain throughout these instructions.
If you have the Backup application that is included with .Mac, you can use this to back up the file to your iDisk, CD/DVD, or to an external hard disk.
Note: Though there is an iLife plan in Backup, it does not currently back up the files associated with iWeb. To back up iWeb files, you will need to use either the Custom or Home Folder plan.
If you do not have Backup, you can create a copy of the file and place the copy in a safe place. To duplicate the Domain file, click the file once to highlight it, then select Duplicate from the File menu. This will create a copy of the file named, "Domain copy." Move this file to the desktop or any other safe location.
    Resolving the issue:
    1. Quit iWeb if it is open.
    2. From the Finder menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder.
    3. Type (or copy and paste) ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb into the field and click Go. You should now see a file named Domain. This is a Mac OS X package file.
Note: A package is a relatively common type of document in Mac OS X; it is essentially a sealed folder. It contains individual items, but cannot be opened in the same manner as a folder.
    4. To open the package, hold down the Control key and click on the Domain package file.
Note: If you have a two-button mouse, this step can be accomplished by right-clicking the Domain package file.
    5. Select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu that appears.
    6. A new window titled Domain will appear showing the contents of the package. Here you will see one file (or possibly two files) named "assets.<membername>.groups.<groupname>.plist" or "assets.<membername>.plist" where <membername> and <groupname> correspond to your .Mac member name and .Mac Group name.
Note: Your .Mac member name is the first part of your .Mac email address, before "@mac.com."
    7. If you have either or both of these files, move them to the trash. Then close the Domain window.
    8. Open iWeb and try publishing again.
If you receive the error "Publish Error - An error occurred while publishing file "filename", try publishing again. If the timeout recurs, continue trying to publish.
For more information, please see the following article:

In your follow-up email, please include any details that may be relevant, such as situations in which the error does not occur, details as to how you connect to the Internet, such as your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and connection method, as well as any additional information pertaining to the configuration of your local area network (LAN).
Regarding your inability to perform successful searches of your Blog using the Search feature, we suggest forcing a republish of your entire site.
To republish your site, first make sure you can access your iDisk from the Finder menu bar.
    1. Click Go in Finder menu bar
    2. Click iDisk > My iDisk
    3. Verify you can upload a file to the iDisk's Group Folder
If you are successful in this, open iWeb and force it to republish the entire site to .Mac. To perform a forced republish of your entire site to .Mac, hold down the Option key while choosing File > "Publish All to .Mac.
Once you have successfully republished your entire site, clear your web browser's cache and attempt to search your Blog page once more. You can clear Safari's cache by selecting Safari > Empty Cache.
If your issue persists, please create a test Blog page, compose a test entry, add the search function to the test page and then publish.
Please reply to this message with the results.
    Sincerely,
    Leah

  • Has anyone upgraded CPS from NW 7.0 to 7.01, 7.1 or 7.2 ?

We had a recent "Health Check" conducted by Redwood, and an upgrade of the Netweaver Stack was one recommendation.  The predicted improvements were better use of memory resources (better Java Garbage Collection), and general performance improvements.
Has that been anyone's experience for CPS specifically?

    Hi,
Well it is nothing to do with CPS. However upgrade is always comes with new feature and performance improvement options.
On CPS side, if you upgrade from M.26 to M.28 or M.28 to M.33 then it will make sense to look at NetWeaver version upgrade requirement before undertaking upgrade. This is purely based on pre-requisites but nothing to do with performance, if you are not upgrading CPS.

  • Blinky lights of death, has anyone gotten satisfaction from Apple?

    I got the symptoms:
    1. Blinking orange/green LEDs when play is pressed
    2. Will not appear anywhere on a Mac
    3. Get "Waiting for ipod to become ready" in iPod updater
    4. Blinks orange when connected
    5. Shows up on a PC but produces I/O errors when anything is attempted
    6. Plays nothing.
    7. 5R's do not help
    Is the only solution replacement?
Has Apple helped anyone out of warrantee at all?

    2 iMac's os 9.4.4 and 10.4.5
    and a 512 mb shuffle

I recently got a Shuffle from one of the guys I work with and I can't get to restore. I, too, have tried the 5R's and the sixth R should be RIP-OFF
    Here's my symptoms:
1: Blinks O/G when plugged into the USB port (even tried a hub)
    2. After that blink, I get blinking O 3 times, wait 5 seconds, blink O 3 times, wait 5 seconds, etc. about 5 or 6 times.
    3. On a full charge, if I push the pause/play, I get the O/G blink once, then no lights at all.
    4. I tried to restore, and it doesn't even mount, even after a full charge.
    5. This last time I tried to test it, I turned it on while plugged into the hub. (Somewhere on the troubleshooting site it says to do that) I got the O blinking 15 times, then nothing.
    6. Somewhere in the troubleshooting, the icon doesn't show up on the desktop either (will not mount).
The friend I got this from got it on E-bay. I think he got took! I know it's not my ports, I have other things plugged into them, and it recognizes MY shuffle.
Now what? I don't think warranty would cover it b/c it's a resale, and who knows how long the original owner had it.

  • Has anyone successfully migrated from mobileme to iCloud?

If so I'd like to hear how it went for you and if there were any gotcha's you had to overcome. I'm updated all my mac's to 10.7.2 and my devices to iO5 so I've just got to start the move.
The only thing I was / am concerned about is losing keychain sync and mailbox sync but for the former I manage all my web password using 1password and dropbox and for the latter I tend to have different mailboxes set up on different devices, so no sweat.
    Is there anything else?
    Ta
    VP.

    Hi,,
I finally got up the nerve to migrate today - like many, I was terrified after everything I'd read here.
It all went very smoothly - touch wood..
First I had to upgrade my Mac from SnowLeopard  to Lion. That took a few hours, but it went OK.
I backed up my contacts and ical to be on the safe side. ( Note: ALL of the calendars, i.e. 'work', 'home', if you have more than one need to be backed up)
Then I logged into MobileMe and I was invited automatically to migrate to iCloud.
I think the only bit of advice I can give is to those of us who did use Mobile Me - and that's to use your mobile me user ID ([email protected]) and not your Apple ID (like we use to log on here) with all of your devices when you migrate. A terrible lack of clarity on Apple's part around that seems to cause a lot of problems.. Indeed when I upgraded my iphone to ios5 my Apple ID was sitting in the iphone's icloud account by default, waiting for me to add my password and migrate. I did actually use it at first, naturally thinking it must be the one I should use... result - an icloud account with no ical or contacts on it.
I deleted it and started again using my mobile me ID once I had migrated to icloud on my Mac and it went smoothly across all my other devices (ipad, iphone and MB air)
There seems to be some idea around the forum that to sync itunes across devices with icloud you need to open another icloud account using the Apple ID you use for buying from iTunes. To be honest I don't really care about syncing my music, so I haven't worked out if that's true or not.
The weird part for me is - how would I know anyway if my itunes purchases are in the cloud or not? How does one find out, short of making a purchase and seeing if it appears elsewhere?
    Good luck..!

  • Has anyone tried Plan9 (from Bell)?

Doing some research, i bumped into it.. it's looks like an interesting system..
    http://plan9.bell-labs.com/plan9/
I'll be writing a full review sometime (when I have time...)

From the little I've read, the concept behind it seems really appealing, brilliant actually, but I've never tried it.  I'm not sure if I'm correct, but my understanding is that it's not designed to be used on a single home computer though, but rather in a distributed setting connected to centralized servers that handle many operations(cpu intensive processes, data storage, etc).  Apparently you can run multiple virtual machines on one computer to simulate this, though I don't think that's what Bell intended at all.  Seems like it would be really well suited for an academic/research/business setting where lots of people are using the same applications to do the same types of things.  I don't really understand how/why it would be used as a personal/home OS.  Perhaps I'm wrong though.
Interesting, but superficial side note:  The 9wm window manager available in the AUR supposedly mimics pretty closely the real plan9 window manager.  Judging by the fact that it has only 5 votes... I'm guessing it's not that great.

  • Has anyone loaded variables from paypal using ipn?

Im so flustered. I'm using flash 8 pro btw.

I had a problem while loading the AOL disc just after getting my Mac Pro. AOL would show the spinning beach ball and not seem to finish the installation. AOL would not run.
About a week later I noticed the AOL Radio application was loaded and started it. I had to sign in with my AOL screenname and password. Radio worked. A bit later I noticed that the AOL icon was now showing that it was running. I clicked on the icon and AOL opened and ran normally. I signed on and all was normal.
AOL sure did not work when I first tried. I was using Apple's MAIL to get AOL e-mail.
