Has anyone worked with communicating with a Garmin GPS using their protocol?
I need to obtain current position (lat/long/elev) and Waypoint data from a Garmin GPSmap 76CS using the Garmin protocol. Read only, I do not need to write. Any help would be appreciated.
I have attached a series of vis that I use to retrieve the waypoints from a Gecko Garmin gps. I think it should work with a 76CS model, although Garmin has the bad habit to change the data format quite often...
I also have some utilities to convert to UTM coordinates. Ask if you need them.

It's more likely the OP's router. I have a wifi only iPad 2, yet location services work just fine on my iPad. If I open maps, my location is found quite nicely. I have seen that some routers do not provide location services and I suspect the OP has such a router.

I am trying to connect to Oracle VPN.Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I am still getting the could not validate server certificate error. I have tried importing the entire certificate chain as well as importing each individual cert in the chain. My certificate works perfectly with the cisco vpn on my pc.
This is my first experience owning an apple product, and I am very disappointed with the customer support that I have received. I tried calling the help line and no one would even attempt to answer my question. I was then told that the Mac "geniuses" wouldn't know either and that I may be able to find an answer on the message boards. Is the check something like a payroll check where its digitally printed and all in text?, or is it a handwritten check?
from my experience handwritten checks rarely work, myself and friends have always recieved an error stating the picture was to blurry no matter how many times we took a picture. From what i have read with others who have issues with depositing handwritten checks, some checks are deemed to blurry based on the handwriting, therefore the app wont accept the check, while other handwritten check will be accepted just fine, i hope this resolves your issue's and concerns -

Has anyone had a problem with MacAce? I normally pay them £8.39 per month for iWeb hosting - but last week my bank account got dented by £8.39 (twice) and then a further £58.80 from nowhere- that's over £65 in unauthorised debits from my bank account. No explanation - nothing.
I sent them 2 E-mails - and no response. I phoned them - and got through to a voice machine ... and still no response.
Is there anything going on here?Something must have worked - just got an E-mail from MacAce saying they've seen the problem and are arranging a refund.

Using Adobe PhotoShop CS4, I cannot add text to a new layer. It was always a snap with previous versions of OS 10. Has anyone else noticed issues with CS4 and Lion? Many thanks in advance. Pete Hendricks
Happy to report that iTunes Match has returned to working like normal on iTunes 10.7 on my computer today. If any iTunes engineers read this thread, I really appreciate the fix.

Has anyone else encountered problems with Adobe CMM clobbering Photoshop add-in filters?
I recently tried to install Adobe CMM, as a pop-up window suggested after I installed Photoshop CS5 on a new computer, running Win7x64 Ultimate. Before trying to install CMM, my Akvis Sketch Plug-In for Photoshop worked fine. Afterwards, Akvis Sketch runs under the filters menu, but will not accept mouse clicks from my Wacom tablet. Prior to Adobe CMM, all was fine. Somehow, the frustrating attempt to use Adobe CMM broke links to Akvis Sketch.
By the way, Adobe CMM setup tried to run and vanished without a trace - no indication of success or failure. CMM doesn't show on my control panel as installed software, so I can't de-install it.
I did un-install Akvis Sketch and re-install it. No luck as a filter, nor as a stand-alone program.
Additional point of interest - a second identical software/hardware workstation continues to run Akvis Sketch just fine because we didn't try installing Adobe CMM on that machine. It certainly looks like CMM is the culprit here.
Since Akvis Sketch is broken as a stand-alone, I doubt that de-activating, uninstalling and then re-installing, re-activating Photoshop CS5 will help, but it will take a lot of time to recreate actions and re-install other add-ins, plus preferences settings.

Fact #1 - another identical system with ms mouse worked fine so I swapped out the Wacom tablet and bingo, the Akvis plug-in works again.
Fact #2 - So does Amazon's Kindle for PC app, which also quit working after running the Adobe CMM setup I'd downloaded.
Suggestion - since there's a legacy for CS5 users getting the "you should download CMM" pop-up, yet no need to do this, maybe Adobe should remove the CMM download page from its website - or flag this download as unneccessary for photoshop users. All Best, Charles Pierce.

Has anyone started having trouble with google calendar syncing / showing up on their iPhone 4s or iPad 2? As of today it no longer shows up. Thanks.
Let me re-qualify my issue. Under my Google Calendar account I have the main calendar I originally set up when setting up my account. I then set up several other calendars under this same account such as events, work, family and so on. All the calendars showed up on my iPhone and iPad with no problem and worked great for a year and a half now until yesterday. My main calendar does still show up but the others no longer appear on my devices. Going on line to look at my Google calendar/calendars everything is fine with all of them. Any thoughts as to why they no longer show up on my iPhone or iPad? Thanks again.

No bug I'm using exchange at work I've updated a couple of people here and it's working.
Your IT guy can't fix this for you? This problem usually is due to the exchange server not recogonizing your account. You have the right server and domain entered? -

Has anyone had an issue with group addresses in Mail after installing Mavericks? Both my MBP-15 and my Mac Pro stopped automatically filling in the addresses when I typed the name of the group that I have in Contacts, after updating to Mavericks. Prior to updating they worked just fine.

Has anyone had a problem with their imac after the power company--in my case Pepco in Washington DC--installed "smart meters" which read the meter and transmit the data via wireless? I've had trouble and when I move the imac downstair it disappears. Help!

It might, as long as the shield is grounded. Metallic (such as copper) window screen is often sufficient.
As mentioned, it would not hurt to file a complaint. The burden of proper shielding should probably belong to Pepco. Among other things, the FCC frowns upon RF leakage and its interfereing with radio communications. Besides, Pepco probably would not want you to affix a shield around their gear - liability issues, etc.
You could experiment by temporarily hanging a shield-screen on the inside of the wall, behind where the meter transmitter device is located, and see if there is any beneficial change. -
