Has Apple published a manual for the iPad using OS 6?

Has Apple published a manual for the iPad using OS 6?

I haven't found one yet - it should appear on this page : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/
There is a manual for iOS 6 for the iPhone which might be better than nothing : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/#iphone

  • Apple digital AV adapter for the ipad 2 or a Apple TV

What should I get a Apple digital AV adapter for the ipad 2 or a Apple TV?
Wanna use it for showing photo and movies:)
    thx

Assuming that you already have the iPad 2, you're looking at a $99 purchase versus as $39 purchase. Why to spend over twice as much on the AppleTV?
Another thing it would depend on is how often you plan to use the connection. If it's going to be an everyday constant thing where you're likely to find yourself wanting the surf but the iPad is connected to the TV (so you have to disconnect then re-connect each time), then maybe that will be enough of a hassle to get the AppleTV. If you only want to use it every now and again (like after renting a video from iTunes, or to share content when people come over), then you may just get the Digital AV adapter and be fine.
Actually, I just thought of a third option. You want the connection to be more convenient, but would still rather not have the AppleTV sitting there unused most of the time, you could add the iPad 2 dock for $29 which would be $69 dollars and you're still under the $99 of the AppleTV.
Oh, and one MORE thing to think about If you've got a computer connected to your network (that's connected to your media library) you may find that having the AppleTV is an easy way to get all that content to your TV, so it would be an additional benefit to the whole situation above and beyond just the iPad.
For me, I purchased the AppleTV, I have one stationary computer (a Mini) that serves all my music and videos that are in my iTunes library, plus an iPad which I can use as a remote control to control the AppleTV, or I can use AirPlay to push video/audio to the TV from any connected device. I like being able to freely switch between modes at any time without disconnecting and reconnecting cables and this setup allows that (also allows making my TV's sound system a broadcast station for all my music!)

  • What is an Apple approved printing app for the iPad?

What is an Apple approved printing app for the iPad?

As the other poster says, apple doesn't place their seel of approval or recommend any printing app. search on here and read reviews on teh app store adn web site reviews to find the best app for your purposes. (SJ did respond to an email about printing from iPad by saying "be patient", so it might be in a future upgrade).

  • For the iPad, using OS  7.02, how do you now close an application?

For the iPad, using OS  7.02, how do you now close an application?  When I double click, go to the task bar and touch on the icon, it no longer gives me the option to close the application.  Do you no longer need to quite an application?

Double tap the home button and swipe upwards on the preview of the App (not the App Icon)

  • When will an app for the apple store be available for the iPad?

I don't understand why there is an app for the apple store for iPhone but not for the iPad. When will there be one available?

  • What are the proper settings to encode for the iPad using compressor?

I'd like to use 1080p the specs say it is capable of.
I can get it working using hand brake but I don't see why I can't do it with compressor.

The official specs for the iPad 2 do not include the 1080p video format so your not going to find a 1080p preset in Apple's Compressor that is marked for use with any iOS device. Apple states the following in the iPad 2 specs:
"Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format"
However, the iPad 2 CAN mirror or scale up to a 1080p TV output and that's all they mean when they say:
"Video mirroring and video out support: Up to 1080p with Apple Digital AV Adapter or Apple VGA Adapter (cables sold separately)"
In any case, all of the A4/A5-based iOS devices can (unofficially) decode 1080p video but for quality results you do need the iPad 2 (the iPhone 4, 4th generation iPod touch, and the original iPad can decode some 1080p sources but you may see dropped frames or stuttering on those "lesser" devices).
As for creating 1080p content you can use whatever tools you want (just select 1920x1080 as the dimensions, use an H.264 codec, and restrict the bitrate to something between 4 to 10Mbps -- you may need to experiment with the latter to find the best results). However, you MIGHT need a third-party app to actually transfer and play that content on your iPad since iTunes MAY not allow you to directly sync that file to your iPad (because it exceeds the "official" spec).

  • Is there a way to have multiple log on's for the ipad using different icloud accounts?

I just recieved an ipad for Christmas but would like to allow my daughter to use it too.  I would like to be able to keep my business caledars and things syncing to my macbook and don't want my daughter to share the same one.  Can this be done?

No. The iPad is essentially a single user device. Anyone who has access to the device (and/or its passcode) basically has access to everything on it.
You cannot passcode protect specific apps.

  • Has Apple done a fix for the recent Security update that went bad.

Hoping to see a message from Apple that they have made a patch to correct the errors caused by the recent download.

Yes, the problematic update v. 1.0 was immediately replaced by v. 1.1. Just run Software Update again to install it and resolve the Rosetta problems caused by the original.

  • IMovie lite app for the iPad

The iPad without a camera is disappointing to some people, but recording with an iPad just wouldn't seem natural. However, it would be awesome is Apple provided iMovie lite for the iPad.
If you think about it, it's already available (in a way) for the iPhone. With just a couple more features, Apple can have an awesome potential to really bring something many are wishing for.
If not, Flip camera makers should really look into this. Apple already provides the Camera Connection Kit for the iPad, so what's stopping them from creating an app that can edit video for their cameras?

Flash for mobiles does not exist, unless you mean ten year old software that does not work well.

  • Ipen for the iPad and iPhone?

what are the chances of Apple developing an ipen for the iPad and iPhone? The pen for the Samsung galaxy works better than any capacity pen on an iphone or ipad.

This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple. We have no way to know what and when Apple will do something. You'll have to wait for an announcement by Apple.
    Send feedback/suggestions to Apple.

  • HT204053 If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad

If I have an apple ID for myself and my wife has just got a iPhone for the first time how can she get the same apps as I have for my iPhone and iPad by getting it off my iCloud?

She can't from iCloud without setting up your iCloud account on her phone. But just sync the same apps from your iTunes Library on your computer to her phone.
Your wife should setup her own iCloud account - which is separate to the iTunes Store accounts.

  • Since Apple already has a SMS/MMS app for the iPhone, which can be used over WiFi, can the same app be installed on the iPad 2?

I have an iPhone 3GS, and realized I do most of my SMS/MMS messaging at home, when connected to my WiFi. Then I began to think, if I'm using the messaging app over WiFi, can the SAME app (which, personally I like much better than the third party apps) be installed on the iPad 2 (which I'm still waiting from back order)?

    Incorrect.
SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.
"Dumb" phones or phones not in the smart category that don't have internet access in any shape, form, or fashion can exchange SMS/MMS.
Since SMS/MMS (a poor man's email with cell phones since it is very limited) is a cash cow for carriers and very profitable, why wouldn't cell phone carriers be interested in including SMS/MMS as an additional option (and of course at an additional expense) with a data plan only for the iPad? They certainly are interested in it but they can't since SMS/MMS is exchanged over the same network as calls.
Get me the IPAD SMS app
Take your whining someplace else. The self-entitlement displayed here by some is laughable.
