Has Firefox stopped being able to handle hundreds of open tabs?

For many, many years and FF versions, I have preferred having hundreds of tabs open to trying to manage bookmarks. I currently have about 650 open. For many, many years and FF versions, this worked fine.
When I started using FF 25, it started crashing with a frequency that I can't remember since the 0.x days. 25.01 seemed to fix that, but every single version since then has had the same problem.
I am currently running with just three essential addons:
Adblock Plus 2.6.3
Tab Mix Plus 0.4.1.4
Classic Theme Restorer 1.2.1
All are on another machine which has just a hundred tabs, and which does not suffer this level of crashing.
It's not a memory shortage: I have 16G of RAM and there's still some free (FF is only using about 1.1G of it). Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit version, using PAE to address all of the RAM.
I have faithfully submitted crash report after crash report, without hearing anything back. There is nothing obvious in common with the crashes - they can happen with the simplest of pages in focus - but they keep happening.

Photoshop Elements 10 has suddenly stopped being able to read from camera memory card

For no apparent reason Photoshop Elements 10 can no longer read from my camera card reader. This happens both when I load the card in to my PC card reader or when I load to a card reader connected via USB.
I get the message "Elements Organiser cannot obtain files from this device. Please ensure that this deviCS is connected properly, or that the batter is charged and try again.
This happens despite the pictures loading and even the first one shows as a thumbnail. I can get around this by loading the photos in to Windows 7 and then bring them in to Elements from their file location.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Please disregard this. I tried everything but restarting my computer & when I did, it downloaded all my messages.

HT5090 Motion has suddenly stopped being able to export...crashes everytime i go to export movie.

I just did the upgrade to 5.04. This began happening today, after this upgrade.

Somebody else complained that FCP X 10.0.5 crashed every time he tried to open it.
He claimed he solved the problem by trashing all the old render files and letting FCP X create new ones.

2 days ago both mine and my daughter's macs stopped being able to open up the apple start up page, search google, yahoo, facebook and many other sites. We live in NW England, has anyone else had similar problems and any suggestions how we can resolve our problem?

Have you tried another browser (chrome, firefox, and checked your router for blocked websites?) and also quit Safari and reopened? Also reset your cookies (Safari > Preferences... > Privacy ), or reset Safari (Safari > Reset..), or Empty Cache (Safari > Empty).

Win 7 stopped being able to see CP2025dn

Since yesterday my Win 7/x64 system has stopped being able to see my CP2025dn. So far I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the printer; reinstalling the HP software (upd-ps-x64-5.3.1.10527.exe); connecting the printer to a new USB port; rolling back all system changes since before the last time the printer worked (and rebooting, or course). None of this helps. The printer remains invisible to Windows -- it does not appear in the Devices and Printers window. My other printer (a Brother HL-5350D) has no problems.

I have an R100 and I lost my SD2 card and the computer tech gave me an SD3 to replace it. I found the SD3 version more stable as I had some of the same frustrations as you in the past. It sounds like you have done the logical things, but give a complete uninstall / reinstall another go. That is what I did several times. Also, scrub your device manager to make sure all the BT devices are gone (it may be helpful to display all the hidden ones and uninstall them one by one). Finally, make sure the BT Manager is loading when you reboot, or at least that you can manually load it. Sometimes you just have to be patient with device discovery, there were times when it could not find a device and then I would try it a few hours later and there it was. If all else fails, try an SD3 card and the 4.20 stack because that combination cured all problems.

Mail abruptly stopped being able to connect with my .mac account. It will download from other accounts.

A week or so ago while I was not at home Mail stopped being able to connect and download email from my .mac account. I can still use Mail to download email from my Gmail and Comcast accounts, however. I can still download .mac email from my iPad and after installing Thunderbird I can download .mac email on my Mac. I downloaded PostOffice, but it won't download .mac email either. There has to be something that has gotten corrupted. Any ideas of what could be wrong and what I can do to get it corrected?

My iMac and MacBook Pro have stopped being able to find one another.

I have been sharing files between my iMac and MacBook Pro. Recently they have stopped being able to detect one another. When I look in the sidebar of the Finder window, neither computer shows the other. I have file sharing enabled for both computers. This is a recent problem, and I'm not sure what has changed. I may have updated software - but don't remember what or when, as I tend to automatically do so when an update becomes available. I would appreciate any help that you can give.

Thank you. I had all my settings right - I had checked and double checked. The one thing I had failed to do - which is the one thing that often helps - is to shut everything down and restart. I shut the router and the computers down and restarted them one at a time. They are once more talking to each other.

My iTunes stopped being able to import all commercial CDs! Can't read them. Please help.

My iTunes stopped being able to import all commercial CDs! I keep getting this message: The song names for this CD could not be found online. Do you still want to import the songs? These are store-bought, mainstream artists. Never had problems before. This is a new Mac Book pro. I am temporarily relocating and was transferring most of my commercial CDs to Itunes. Went through about 100 CDs, including a dozen today, and now none will read. I tried downloading new software (it was up-to-date), and quitting and restarting. It seems that everyone who had this problem that I found on Internet searches was trying to import burned discs. Please help

So far, there are three of us who've posted a similar problem, in the last hour or so. It may be working for you now; it has started working for some, but it's still not working for me. It's not your Mac. It seems to be something related to Gracenote Media Database.
Your statement says it's stopped importing the commercial CD's but I think you mean it will import them, but not recognize song titles or album titles, even though your CD's are regular commercial CDs. If that's the case, you are experiencing the same thing I am.

Can receive mail but stopped being able to send mail

I can receive mail on my MacBook Pro, but, after 3:03PM on 9/26/2014 I stopped being able to send mail. I get the follingg dialog box.
Interestingly enough the data in this dialog box is out of date. My ISP at this location is not Verizon and there is no mention of iCloud. Nonetheless mail has worked without incident at this location for two years. At my office where I have a MacPro (4.1), Verizon is the ISP but, I believe, iCloud is the other listed server. (Im not there right now, so I ca't check). Incoming and outgoing mail work perfectly at that location. Both computers are rurnning OS 10.8.5. I'd appreciate any insight anyone might Have,

If you are having issues with sending and receiving email, check out the first two articles to get it sorted out. Also look at the third link and look at the time at which you were having issues as it may be related to an outage of service.

Acrobat pro 10.1.9 stopped being able to OCR scans

Acrobat pro 10.1.9 stopped being able to OCR scans.
I am running Windows 7 (64-bit) and I have OCRd several hundred pages of test over the last 5 months, but receintly I get a "Some of the pages couldn't be OCRed" and "Acrobat could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because: Unknown error"
I've tried "Repair Acrobat Installlation" 3 times and no improvement.
Any ideas on how to fix?

Stopped being able to connect to msn

Not sure if I am on right message board but hopefully I am. I suddenly stopped being able to connect to msn no matter what I tried can anyone advise anything please.

I have not been able to send email for some time but now i have stopped being able to recieve email.

i have not been able to send emails for some time but in the last two days ive stopped being able to receive, the message says 'username or password incorrect' ive checked all the settings, ive deleated accout and set up again, ive rebooted phone. i tried to sync with pc but this also fails any ideas

That is correct, They don't seem to know about Mac, never got a single scrap of help from them. Try recreating your account from scratch, delete the account, (write down all your settings first) and add an account, see if that works, and if it does, delete the first account to prevent things doubling up on you. I think that's what I did, it was quite a while ago. Hope this helps, or gets you pointed in the right direction. Maybe go to At&t and try creating another account, and if ti works, delete the first.
One other tihing I did was to reset Safari, as AT&T uses the net, that's about all I can remember, like I said it was awhile ago.

My iPhone 4S stopped being able to get mail

My iPhone 4s (iOS 7.1.1) stopped being able to check mail yesterday. first the error was that my password was incorrect (which had not been entered since setting up the account) which surprised me. After several attempts of entering my password, thinking i was crazy, I restarted the phone--still not working. I deleted the email account and re-entered it, still not working. only now i get an error that says it can not verify account information (mail.xx.edu) first, and then my password continues to be incorrect. I can receive the same mail on my iPad, and i can log on and check online, so i know i have the correct password. my email is an exchange account (mail.xx.edu). i have checked with institution tech support and they say i've done the correct things. suggestions? more info required to answer? thank you!

I've seen situations before where on older devices something gets "messed up" in the OS/Account Settings for email. I think if it were me, and I'd done the basics (including reset with the home and power button and verifying the credentials on another device and with the Outlook Web Interface) I'd backup the phone, transfer all content, erase all content and settings, and setup email again immediately after, before you restored anything else or transferred anything back. You could also try a restore. If you use OWA, I'd also go into that and see if there were multiple instances of the device and also be sure none of them are disabled.

OS 5.0, Storm: URLs in SMS messages stop being clickable after the thread is opened the first time

I'm running 5.0.0.328 on a VZW Storm 9530.
After upgrading, I noticed that URLs in SMS messages and e-mails stop being clickable after a certain time. I'm not sure that this is so much a time issue as it is one with just getting X number of messages then breaking, but it works like this:
Battery Pull occurs
Storm reboots
Look at SMS messages, URLs can be clicked, opening them in the Browser
go on about my day
Get more SMS/eMail messages
Look at SMS messages, URLs can NOT be clicked. Have to be copied/pasted into browser to view.
Battery Pull occurs
Storm Reboots
I can again click on URLs and open them in browser
And that's how it goes. Initially, after a battery pull, the URLs in various SMS are underlined. Clicking them opens them in the browser. OR, I can touch them and hit the BB button, and select Open Link in Browser from the menu.
After some more testing, the problem appears to be related to the threading of SMS messages.
My test case is twitter. ALL my twitter messages are thrown into a single thread (I do NOT want this, by the way, I want individual SMS messages, NOT threads of them). SO let's say, for example, I have 25 SMS messages in the twitter thread. Immediately after the battery pull, I can open the thread, and after a moment, all URLs are underlined, clickable, and if I touch/hold for a second, highlighted and can be opened via the BB menu.
After exiting that thread to do other things, and then coming back to that thread, I have found that OLD SMS messages in the thread (the original 25 that were there when I did the battery pull) are still underlined, clickable, and so forth. However, any NEW messages added to the thread after I opened it the first time, are NOT clickable, NOT underlined.
My theory at this point is that the code that parses the SMS messages in a thread and then underlines the URLs making them usable, only runs that first time, and either does not run, or fails to run, on subsequent openings of that SMS thread.
Thus, if the messages were NOT threaded, then the code would run when each individual SMS was opened, eliminating this problem. OR, having that code run EVERY TIME a thread is viewed, to ensure it does the underlining/grabbing of URLs for new SMS messages.

Firefox immediate lockup trying to restore memory-leaking open tabs

I've managed to get firefox to immediately lock up once opening it as it's trying to restore a tab that causes the memory so suddenly leak so severely the memory graph in windows is greater than 45 degrees. Firefox does have option to turn of tab-reopening on launch, but that requires being able to use the options menu, or even about config screen. Restarting the computer, end-task on firefox and re-launch, or spam clicking the close window box, or ctrl-w to try to close tabs, all have failed.
Is there a way to launch firefox perhaps with a command line or key hold that prevents it from re-opening a previous session?
