I've been web searching, but not found any successful answer to the problem of light Quicktime exports... i.e. when I export my sequence and then look at the resulting QT file everything has gone milky.... all too light...
Apparently this is an internal problem with the conversion to QT
My flow is this:
Macbook Pro OS X 10.6.8 which is running FCP6
Exporting footage sequence from the timeline directly to a QT file.
I use QT conversion.
.h264 codec
Data rate is restricted to 5000 so that it's ready for Vimeo - this auto sets it to high quality
1280x720 HD 16:9 frame
Is there a solution to this?
I have seen various suggestions of things, but nothing seems concrete or very sure.....
Will using sequence settings to render in RGB / YUV or YUV high quality make any difference to things? How do I know which of these to use?

Wow, there's definitely a good improvement in colour matching with the 'enable fcs color compatability' option ticked so many thanks for that...
But, there still seems to be a major discrpency between what I am watching from my rendered timeline and the export version.....
Any other ideas?
I just did a few tests including another suggestion I saw of using an adjustment of the Coloursync and switched it from photos to gfx, but that made no discernable differnce to the export..
I do find the issue is more notoiceable if I have done any colour adjustment using the inbuilt FCP effects options such as the 3 way correcter...

No, problems still exist. I have an iPhone 4 and it wont allow some app's to update and now I can't use them. There are also problems with downloading from the cloud as some items will come up with an error code. Also why did Apple force your own equipment to upload everthing to the cloud? I now have to reload around 16GB of music back to the phone and I said previously the phone let me reload all my own songs!!
Those guys who said there no problems are lucky but also out of touch, have they not heard of all the press news about this? I loved my phone but now its becoming frustating, needs sorting soon.

How long has the lines issue been around?

Just curious. I just got my new powerbook and I am fairly upset at the presence of these lines. Is this something that apple has known about for months or is this a new issue all together? Basically, i just want to know how long everyone has been waiting for an announcment on this issue.

Has the sound issue been resolved?

I have been using iTunes 6.03 and Quicktime 7.03 for a while now, since last time (in Feb) when i upgraded all my MOV stop having any sort of sound. Has the new update to 7.04 solve the problem?

This method with F8 will not work on your old notebook model. at this time Toshiba notebooks were delivered with recovery discs only and HDD recovery option was not available.
If you don't have original recovery disc you must make clean OS installation.

Your old notebook model you can find in ARCHIVE (product type). Your model is PSA30E.
At this time your notebook was delivered with SP1 and with Realtek Audio Driver V5.10.00.5210. exactly this driver you can find on Toshiba download page. To be honest I don't know if this will work with SP2 or SP3 but you can try to find newer version for Realtek ALC202 sound card.
Thats all I can say about it.
One more thing: you can also download Installation Instructions document. So please do this and install all stuff following this installations order. It is very important.

Has "cracked screen" issue been resolved in gen 2?

i have a 1st gen ipod nano 4gb. i got it last december 2005, and recently it started freezing now and then...that stopped on its own, but one day i looked and the screen was black/rainbowy, with an LCD crack on it. still plays, but operates more like an overpriced ipod shuffle with no viewable information. after doing some reading, i've discovered that the unprovoked LCD cracked screen is not uncommon, and that apple will not fix it, and the price of getting it fixed other places is almost as much as a new ipod.
so my question is, if i'm gonna drop the dough on a replacement 2nd gen, what are the odds my screen will crack for an unknown reason again? has apple addressed this issue in the 2nd gen?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Given that Apple's instructions to it's service providers is to replace these screens (read this and the linked to articles) I'd guess the 2G Nanos would be more robust in this respect. I guess we'll have to wait and see if there are many reports of broken screens. I haven't seen any complaints on the various Apple site's I visit so far so it all looks good.

Has the photoshop elements 12 serial number issue been fixed? is there a version that works?

I bought a new in the box photoshop elements 12 just before christmas new in the box from Amazon. I tried to install but it said the serial number was invalid. I talked to help staff for hours and could not get it to work. Did this issue ever get fixed? Is there a version of photoshop elements that will work? By work I mean when you enter the serial number on the package that you can install and the serial number will work. I am replacing photoshop elements 7 which says I have installed it too many times.

Creative cloud applications won't open on additional machine - iMac 10.9.4 - Creative cloud for teams - a work colleague has the same issue on his home machine. Applications work fine at work.

These problems are happening on my iMac at home. I can log into Creative Cloud no problem, however as soon as I try and open an application, whether it's an old version or CC 2014, Adobe Application Manager opens and tells me that membership has expired and prompts me to 'try again'. Clicking this button results in a new pop up that thanks me and tells me that my subscription is now active. However as soon as I click 'continue' the process begins again, the application closes, a pop tells me that membership has expired etc.
I can login and view my Creative cloud for teams account online and everything seems to be in order and the applications open without incident at work, another colleague at my work has the same problem with his CC applications at home.
I've tried uninstalling and the installing all of the applications and CC several times, run all updates etc.
Is this an issue the the Terms and Conditions for CC2014, are we no longer allowed to run applications on 2 machines?
Is there a bug with the latex version of CC? This problems has only recently occurred.
I should add that I've read some of the other posts about login loops and I've tried deleting the opm.db file, it didn't work.

There doesn't seem to be an uninstaller for CS3, and I've tried the CC Cleaner tool several times. It doesn't work and it is not correctly documented anywhere. For example, there is no log file at "/Users/[user name]/Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" as one of the Adobe pages states. For example, there is no log file at "/Users/[user name]/Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" so I can't find any success or error states of the tool.
There is a log file at "/Users/[me]/Library/Logs/ACC.log." Would there be anything in there that could shine light on install issues vs. uninstall issues?
Regardless, running Cleaner and then attempting to install ACC repeatedly leads to the error "Creative Cloud quit unexpectedly" upon launching it or rebooting (which launches it automatically). I've been trying various things for weeks to no avail yet.

AUR has a bug in the way it versions packages. [WORKED AROUND]

If you check out my PKGBUILD in the AUR (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=29410), you'll notice its version on the page is "smooth-tasks-pkgver.txt", while the ${pkgver} variable in its PKGBUILD is "wip_2009_09_13". `smooth-tasks-pkgver.txt' is a file the PKGBUILD uses to temporarily store the correct ${pkgver} of the package (not its mercurial revision), which is then used to update the arch package and PKGBUILD.
It was an experiment to see how I could manipulate makepkg's standard versioning scheme to reflect the actual author's package version rather than the mercurial revision, and it works! AUR just seems to have an issue with the way it parses the PKGBUILD.
I figured it would be best to discuss this on the forums before filing an actual bug report.
EDIT: changed the title from "... names packages" to "... versions packages", and edited the post body to correct my original misconception the bug lies in how the AUR names packages, and not versions them.

I don't understand your logic, what is `[ 1 ]' for? It reminds me of the pieces of code I occasionally come across that look something like:

I reckon it makes since to someone, I've just never understood the logic behind such blocks.
The above snippet of code is one way of creating a block comment within Bash scripts, since whatever is located between the `EOF' tags is piped to nowhere (and thus isn't displayed); by placing a block comment at the end of the PKGBUILD containing an explicit ${pkgver} declaration, I am able to dictate to the AUR what the package version should be, and still have the segment of code ignored by `makepkg' when the script is executed.
EDIT: Unless, you mean to use something like `(( 0 ))', which Bash will evaluate to false and thus ignore the proposition. That would indeed make since, but, in my opinion, isn't really any clearer than my implementation.

Has the ipod 40g been recalled

has the apple ipod been recalled....i purchased around 9/04. I've experienced problems with the click wheel, i think it is freezing up.

about a month ago my ipod froze up.I attempted to reset it/or restore it, but it didnt work...then it wouldnt recognize the charger, or the computer.....so i let it loose its charge, i didnt attempt to use it again until last weekend, when i connected it to the computer it came on, so i upgraded the ipod and was using it successfully up until today...all of a sudden it froze, the sound stopped but the screen ws still up, then it kept scolling through the music by it self but not playing anything i could here the ipod functioning (i could hear the internal parts moving) i turned the unit off, then turned it back on then it wasnt recognizing when i was hitting the click wheel, so i held down the menu and middle button at the same time...it shut off, i turned it back on now i get a sad ipod icon....my girlfriend told me ipod recalled ipods purchased between 9/04 and 12/04, thats why i asked if there was a recall on my particular model

Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working - has issue been resolved?

I am experiencing the above problem with a new install of CS6.
Has this issue been resolved?
CS6 Design and Web Premium installed on Win 7 pro 64 bit Dell Precision laptop. Error with Adobe Bridge cs6: "Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working", problem event name "APPCRASH". Error occurs when opening Bridge from Photoshop and other apps (Browse in Bridge) and directly from desktop or start menu. Also a cache directory is not being created under c:\user\<user>\appdata\roaming\adobe\bridge\. Holding ctrl key down and double clicking icon gets same message, cannot get at reset window.
Performed the following with no change: verified Bridge and full suite is on latest version (Bridge=5.0.2.4); created desktop icon directly from bridge.exe; verified application was installed and is starting with administrator privileges; verified latest display driver installed; performed complete uninstall of CS6, CC cleaner tool run, then full reinstall; Error under Event Viewer: faulting application: Bridge.exe and faulting module name: ntdll.dll; disabled UAC; tested memory for damage using MemTest86-good.

A follow up to the above.
There appears to be a number of possible causes for this type of error. In my case it was somewhat specific. I had a stand alone copy on this same machine previously of Adobe Photoshop CS2 (only) which was completely uninstalled prior to the installation of CS6. There is an issue with Bridge CS6 being installed on a machine that has Bridge CS2 on it. I wasn't aware of Bridge being present with my copy of Photoshop CS2 but apparently there were at least some components of Bridge CS2 left after the uninstall. The workaround that solved the issue for me was the creation of an empty folder:
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS2

We have many reports in SSRS 2012 which had originally developed in SSRS 2005. When ever we render these report into Excel we face two major issues;
First: After reports render in to Excel (xlsx) format, we have cell, column, row shifting problem and every element of the report is not in the same place as appose to 2005 render to xls format. Second.
for any drill through (link) report all the url will be blocked by Excel.
We use SSRS 2012, Office 2010 and IE 8. Also we don't want to add Export to Excel 2003 feature. In other word we want out put in xlsx.
Any solution, suggestion, hotfix is appreciated

According to your description, after you updated SSRS 2005 reports to SSRS 2012, reports render appose to 2005 when export them to Excel, and drill through link is blocked.
Question1:
A report definition file includes a reference to the RDL namespace that specifies the version of the report definition schema that is used to validate the .rdl file. After a report is upgraded locally or on the report server, you might notice additional errors,
warnings, and messages. This is the result of changes to the internal report object model and processing components, which cause messages to appear when underlying problems in the report are detected.
When you open an .rdl file in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), if the report was created for a previous namespace, Report Designer automatically creates a backup file and upgrades the report to the current namespace. This is the only way
you can upgrade a report definition file.
In order to improve the efficiency of troubleshooting, I need to ask several questions:

a screenshot.
Did you update the reports by opening the .rdl files in SSDT?
Could you export report to Excel 2003 to see if it displays correctly?

Question2:
I tested the issue in my local machine, when we add drillthrough action to the report, if we select Go to report or Go to URL, the link works fine after we export report to excel. It failed to work when we use javascript:void window.open to open a URL in new
windows, the “window.open” can’t work in Excel because of the JavaScript protocol can work only with an exact page.

Thank you much for your fast respond. And as for your questions:
1- Yes I did upgrade them by using SSDT tools in VS2012 and then deploy them again into our SSRS2012 report server.
2- For URLs and Hyperlinks, because the action is go to sub report, I used "Go To Report" and by look at content that been blocked by Excel, I have noticed that (Go To Report) action passes IP address of our SSRS Server . I don't know how can I change
it to use the actual path instead.
3- Shifting the Cells and Rows means when I export report (from SSRS 2005) to excel in xls format (Excel 2003 for example), has very same look as it shows in screen, but when I export it from ssrs 2012 to render it in to xlsx format (Excel 2010 in our case)
I face with merging cells and when I compare this xlsx out put with xls out put of very same report I have see the row that used to be on A23 for example now is in A20 or the column that used to be in A7 now is in B9 for example. And required a lot of manual
work on design to work with spaced between text boxes and location of each data region, and overlaps to get the same result. I want to know is there more efficient way to achieve the same out put as xls.
4- I can't export report to render in Excel 2003 (xls) format directly from SSRS server for we don't have that option in our export list, but I did "save it as" xls and faced the same Row, column, cell shifting as with xlsx.

Oh, well that was a whole other kettle of fish:
Oh the G4 I attempted to install iLife '08 before Lepoard was available. About the only thing that installed cleanly was iPhoto. I ended up reinstalling everything back to iLife '06, and then upgrading back to the current stable version of the iLife '06 version. I didn't attempt a reinstall until after I upgraded to Leopard.
When I did reinstall, I made a iLife '06 folder, copied all iLife apps into it, and upgraded. Seemed to work, except for the part where iMovie gets left behind and iDVD is only mostly functional.
When I installed on the other 2 machines, it was after installing Leopard and all upgrades. On those 2 machines, I didn't bother with the copy, I just moved everything to the iLife '06 folder I created, and did a fresh install.
I didn't have to do anything with the iPhoto Libraries, that I can recall.
I always do an upgrade, never an archive and install. I've never had a problem with this back to 10.1 or 10.2.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

I wish I fully understood your post, but perhaps you should try re-downloading. Are you trying to download the 10.7.3 update? If so, then try downloading OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo).
