Has ios 4.3.2 solved the quick battery drain problem?

My 3rd generation ipod touch lasted for days on a battery charge using ios 3.1.3 form A;pril 2010 until July 2010.  After upgrading to ios 4.0 and other "updates" through 4.3.1 the battery does not last overnight when the touch is turned OFF or sleeping.  Apple has not responded to my eleven requests for help and the 'Genius?' offered no solutions except to turn off WI-FI, locations and other functions that I spent $300. to use.  The touch is now out of warranty, so IT IS TIME FOR APPLE TO RELEASE A SOFTWARE FIX FOR THE QUICK BATTERY DRAINS CAUSED BY IOS 4.xx.x.

Not for me.  I upgraded to iOS 4.3.2 on my iPod Touch G3 and everything worked OK, apps and all.  Then the next morning it was completely dead after putting it in standby with a full battery the night before.
I am VERY FRUSTRATED at what 4.2.x has done to the battery life on my iPod Touch.  I use it every day and until I got 4.2.0 I could count on it being there when I needed it.  Now I feel lucky that it even turns on.
I can NO LONGER recommend Apple phones or Touch to my family/friends until this is fixed!
APPLE, PLEASE FIGURE THIS OUT!

    This is not a feature of iPhone, iPad or iOS.
    Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone
    devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the
    app store and internet tethering where provided by the carrier.
    Other than this it will not connect to a phone/computer/device.  (thanks to ckuan for the wording)

  • I am unable to restore from iCloud backup because the new phone has iOS 8.1.2 and the old phone has iOS 8.2? Any help.

    I Have just bought an iPhone 6 and want to restore my iPhone 4s via iCloud backup to the new iPhone 6. The setup of the iPhone 6 halted because according to the new phone it has iOS 8.1.2 whereas the backups were stored using iOS 8.2 following my updating of the iPhone 4S recently. How do I jump through this hoop? How do I update the new phone to iOS 8.2 without serring it up first? Anyone, please help?

    Update the new phone to the same version that has been used to create the backup. In your case, the new device has to run 8.2 to be able to use the backup made with the other device.
    Setting it back to factory settings will install the newest version and after that you can use the backup made under 8.2

    I'm having the same issue.  The password is unavailable and I can't uncheck the encrypt password checkbox.  I don't care about the existing backups... I understand why without the password, the existing backups would be useless. You can do what you want, but you must erase your phone to do it. Just restore the phone using iTunes and set it up as a New phone. As it is new you can install whatever content you want to, then make an unencrypted backup of it.
    The reason you can't change your mind once you have an encrypted backup is to protect your private data. If it was possible to uncheck Encrypt Backup, then back up your phone, anyone who stole or found your phone could do this and thus have access to your private data from the new backup.

    A good read. Have you done anything at all to resolve your problem. Reset? Restore?
    By the way - "your products"... nobody here produced the iPhone, we are all just users. Apple is not here.

  • Has anyone found a solution to the poor battery life in Mavericks?

    Hi all,
    I was wondering if anyone has found a reliable solution to the poor battery life after updating to Mavericks. I tried to have the Mac shutdown by letting it go all the way dead and then charge it back up but it still is lousy. To literally see the battery guage go down in such a short period of time is surprising as I didn't have this in my previous OS. My machine is a five month old Macbook Pro Retina. I want to say I started seeing this change after installing the last Mail update for Mavericks. I definitely didn't encounter it after the initial update to Mavericks.
    Thoughts, comments, ideas?

    Read through the posts on the right side of the page under 'More Like This'. Several fixes have been mentioned amongst them. But as there was an issue in Mountain Lion that was rectified with an update then it may just be a case of waiting to see if Apple issue a solar update for Mavericks. Remember it has only been out two weeks so I would doubt that if there is an update coming for it that they would release it without thorough testing.
    Cheers

  • Does iOS6.1 help with the increased battery drain on iPhone 4s that iOS6.0 presented?

    Does anyone know if the iOS6.1 does anything to remedy the increased battery drain on iPhone 4s that was presented with iOS6.0?

    I upgraded to ios 6.1 when it first came out a couple of weeks ago and in the last 2 days am experiencing rapid battery drain...not sure if that's the cause.

  • After os5 upgrade the iPhone battery drains in 1 hr

    after os5 upgrade the iPhone battery drains in 1 hr? Gets very hot also

    And I should mention that I took the foll steps so far:
    1. Let the battery drain out completely and charge it overnight
    2. Backed the phone, then reset the phone and restored from backup.
    3. Took it to the apple store and they did a different kind of restore but no luck
    The only thing left for me to try to is to reset it to factory setting unless some one can suggest some other way.

  • How to solve the Embed Color Profile problem...

    Hi Everyone,
    This vijay from Chennai. I have one doubt for rectify the Embed color Profile problem, that's is how can i judges whether the file had Embed Color Profile or not. anyone solve this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.
    -yajiv

    I used another profiles name, because I dont have the old one installed anymore, Youll have to be exact about the letters though.
    And from a prepress-standpoint Id like to point out that removing the profile as opposed to »Convert to Profile« seems a peculiar practice, though of course Your reasons for doing so may be valid indeed.
    You could try:
    var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
    if (myDocument.colorProfileName == "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2") {
    // =======================================================
    var idassignProfile = stringIDToTypeID( "assignProfile" );
    var desc2 = new ActionDescriptor();
    var idnull = charIDToTypeID( "null" );
    var ref1 = new ActionReference();
    var idDcmn = charIDToTypeID( "Dcmn" );
    var idOrdn = charIDToTypeID( "Ordn" );
    var idTrgt = charIDToTypeID( "Trgt" );
    ref1.putEnumerated( idDcmn, idOrdn, idTrgt );
    desc2.putReference( idnull, ref1 );
    var idmanage = stringIDToTypeID( "manage" );
    desc2.putBoolean( idmanage, false );
    executeAction( idassignProfile, desc2, DialogModes.NO );

  • Disable SSID broadcast solve the E4200 continuous flashing problem

    I was quite excited about E4200 I got yesterday. Everything works perfect except front LED light start blinking a few hours later. Don't know why it happens in a sudden and non-stop.
    After several tries, I found that disabling SSID broadcast for both 2.4 and 5GHz stops the blinking.
    Of course, before doing that, I upgraded firmware to 1.0.02, reset to factory defaults and finally set up E4200 manually rather than using Cisco Connect.
    Now the LED light is continuously lit.
    I hope this hint could help you to solve the poblem as well.

    I wonder if the 'flasjhing logo' problem (which indicates WPS connection is in process) could be due to using Cisco Connect initially.
    I am thinking of doing a '30-30-30' rest, using the web browser for all the configuration.(I have been doing this ever since ditching Cisco Connect early on).

  • How to fix the ios 6 download. Battery draining problems

  • IPad iOS 6.1.2 update causing excessive battery drain

    I have noticed in other discussions that a number of iPhone users have experienced excessive battery drain after updating to iOS 6.1.2.
    I am now experiencing this problem in a big way after updating to iOS 6.1.2 on an iPad 3.   Prior to this update, my battery life was very good, dropping to only 70% to 80% at the end of a typical day of use.
    After the update, which was said to be to fix a previious Mail Exchange battery drain issue (one that I was not experiencing), my battery was dropping to 30% after a few hours.   It was literally like holding a bucket with a hole in the bottom and watching the water drain out.
    I noticed that my Usage time and Standby time were identical, even though the ipad had been in sleep mode much of the time.   This indicates to me that something about this patch is causing the iPad not to actually sleep when in sleep mode.
    The iPhone discussion forums point to a number of possible fixes, including uninstalling all emails and re-installing them all the way to a total erasure and reinstalation of everything.  This worked for some, but not for all victims of this problem.
    Until Apple recognizes this problem and sends out another update, one less painful solution that worked for me was to change all of my email accounts from Push to Fetch every 15 minutes.   This has stopped the problem for me, for now. so I wanted to share this in case anyone else is experiencing similar problems.
    If other community members have discovered other short term or long term fixes then please do post here.
    Apple, I await an update that will allow me to restore Push functionality, or instructions on what steps will work to properly restore full functionality (what to remove and reinstall etc).

    Just to confirm that I have the same problem.  I updated to iOS6.1.2 on Friday 1 March 2013, I have an iPad2.  And Saturday morning my iPad was 0% after having nodded off on a 78% full battery.  This has NEVER happened before, and has become a daily occurrence.  I have now amended my Mail to fetch and hope it works.

  • IPhone 4S battery drain problem with iOS 7.0.4

    I have a had the iPhone 4 for a year and a half...The battery was working just fine with the iOS 6 but when updating to iOS 7..Things got a bit ridiculous, battery drains 4% in 10 minutes without WiFi. With Wifi it drains about 8% in 10 minutes with only one application used which is Safari. I usually turn off the WiFi and shutting all the applications of before putting on Standby to help in battery time efficiency. I reset all my settings as most of the tutorials say. I don't use GPS and closed most of the notification center applications that I don't use. Battery only lasts like 3 or 4 hours of continuous work with WiFi and low brightness..I'm seeking some help from Apple Technical support WHOM I tried to contact but with no answer.

  • Is the 10.7.2 fixed battery drain problem ?

    there is no information anywhere and I wonder if this problem is fixed ?

    I wonder what percentage of users has that problem? Maybe I need to retest that one Unibody MacBook battery again with Snow Leopard, we always got poor life with Windows on it.
    I will double check also the new 2011 MBP, unfortunately, we have no reference to what is a good battery life on that one. It is a new system. It definitely had no effect on our old white MB.
    (Now I am having serious battery life problem with my 2010 Touch could that be an OS?)

  • 10.3.1 Quick Battery Drain Runs Hot Keeps Coffee Cup Warm

    WOW amazing battery drain with 10.3.1.  Where can i get the previous OS of 10.2.xxx as do not want to be tethereed to a wall outlet or car charger.   Wow runs IS 10.3.1 hot pretty sure if I leave my coffee cup on the phone it will keep it warm.

    I had the same problem for a week on my Q10. I was extremely frustrated as I couldn't get any advice from Blackberry and the best advice on this forum suggested a "security wipe".  I reluctantly decided to go ahead and do that. I first  tried to back the phone up.  I had to update the BB Link software on my PC and then was able to do the backup. I started to download the software suggested here (which takes 5 hrs unless you pay for it) and then realised the phone seemed to be OK again. Since then it lasted 48hrs and today is only down to 88% after 9hrs.
    My problem was mainly that Standby was using 50% of the battery & Androd Player 15%. Both are now under 2%.
    Your phone may have a different problem so if you've downloaded the latest BB LInk and done a backup with no luck then all I can say is good luck!
