Has iOS7 caused any of your devices to be stuck in recovery mode?

Hey, so I installed the new OS on both my iPhone 5 and iPad 2 and after it finished both were stuck in the recovery mode screen. I tried restore from the apple servers and it constantly fails. Ive done MANY different downloads of the ipsw to use that to restore with and that gives me a error saying that my device is not authorized for that firmware. When i try to go back to 6.1.3 it wont let me either. So here I am stuck on all of my devices in the recovery mode not knowing what to do. Has anyone fix this issue? I know i have downloaded the right files because it will extract it but once it starts loading it into the phone it either wont let it do it. Anyone know what to do?

No. I have seen only one problem so far with on of my app and I suspect that it is not compatable with iOS 7.
Apple has never approved a method to downgrade iOS.

I got my phone stuck in recovery mode while  trying to update I0S 7.  I have watched countless youtube videos and read multiple articles to try and resolve this issue.  I have done everything but, When i try to take it out of recovery mode as shown it puts it right back in recovery mode.  This is a very annoying.  Please Help Me

When your phone is in recovery mode, it's like it crashed.  The only way that you can get it out of recovery mode is by restoring, and this erases all your data as well.
You can believe what you wish by "reading all over the internet".  This is Apple's technical support forum.  We do know what we're talking about.
since you have very important photos on your phone, why haven't you been importing them to your computer as soon as possible after taking them?  This is how the phone is meant to be used.  Keeping critical data on only a device which can be easily stolen, dropped and broken is just plain foolish.  Also, did you not back up your phone (as you should be doing with any computer) before attempting any operating system update?  As you've now just painfully learned, updates do not always go as planned.
I'm sorry for your data loss, but let this be a very important lesson.  BTW, when was the last time you backed up your computer?  I'm sure you have important data on your computer.  Hard drives WILL fail.

I should add that this has never been Jailbroken. I keep reading that a lot of times this is the case for a jail broken phone.
I have also gone through the not very helpfull steps on apples site to fix this.. It is not a security issue since i dont have an antivirus or any 3rd party software for my computer.

  • Iphone stuck in recovery mode and can't recover because "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"

I have an iPhone 4S and it has been stuck in recovery mode for whatever reason. I have tried using data recovery software that can turn my phone to normal mode but when it tries all my phone does in turn off and then on again, back into recovery mode. I can't use iTunes to recover my phone because it won't let me do it without updating and recovering the iPhone. When I do this it gives me the error "This device isn't eligible for the requested build"
Is there any other way I can restore my phone from backup without getting this error?

  • My iPhone is stuck in recovery mode showing error 4013 any ideas?

My iphone is stuck  in recovery mode.  It is showing error 4013.  Has anyone got any ideas on what to do next.  The 02 shop has said it is a hardware problem, but the phone has not been damaged in any way.

    Did you try these suggestions?
    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, thentroubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
    Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

    Hello;
My Iphone didn't catch any network coverage, so I thought I would restore it,
After trying to restore it to factory settings through Itunes, I keep getting this error "this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
I went through the internet for solutions, I've tried modifying my hosts in every single way I could imagine, but I still get these errors !
My device is an IPhone 5C it was running iOS 7.1.1 or 7.1.2 I can't remember, it's never been jailbroken either
I'm using a Mac computer to fix it.
It is now stuck in recovery mode, and any help would be welcomed !
    Thanks !

This computer has never been used to jailbreak any device, but I saw an article on the french apple website telling me to add a "#" in front of the gs.apple.com hosts, wich I did but it didn't change anything.
If there was a gs.apple.com entry in the host file, then that computer WAS used to jailbreak, or attempt to jailbreak an iOS device. There is NO other reason for that entry to be placed in the host file other than in an attempt to bypass Apple's authentication servers.
Make an appointment at the genius bar of your local Apple Store since you can't seem to find a 'clean' computer from which to perform the restore.
Ask the genius to restore your phone. It's still under warranty. If there is something wrong with it, it will be replaced.

  • HT201263 My iPhone 4 started to update but got stuck in recovery mode. I've tried everything anyone on the website has told me to do, but nothing has worked. Is there anything I can do? I need my phone

My iPhone 4 started to update but got stuck in recovery mode. I've tried everything anyone on the website has told me to do, but nothing has worked. When you go to turn it on, it shows the Apple symbol,  then it goes to the connect to iTunes screen. When I do that, it just says error with the code 9006. I've followed what the Apple site has said to do for it, but the phone is still is the same  state. Is there anything I can do? I need my phone back as soon as possible.

    Hello Hester Emily,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you're experiencing after this update process.  I found the following article that has more information on the iTunes error code 9006:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
    Configure your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, or 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
Check your security software and settings, which can block ports and prevent connection to Apple servers during update and restore.
    Take care,
    Alex H.

Your device may not be recognized while in recovery mode. This can happen during an update or restore of your device. Typically when your device is in recovery mode, it will show the "Connect to iTunes" logo on its display. If iTunes does not recognize the device when in this state, try the following:
    Open the Device Manager:
Windows XP: Click Start > Run. In the resulting dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start. In the dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return on the keyboard. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click "Continue".
Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type devmgmt.msc, and press Return.
Click the plus icon (Windows XP and Vista) or the disclosure triangle () (for Windows 7 and 8) next to Imaging Devices, Other Devices, Portable Devices, and Universal Serial Bus Controllers to expand these sections.
Check these sections for one or more entries called Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode). These entries may or may not have exclamation marks on them similar to the following:

If you see two "Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" entries with exclamation marks on them:

  • IPhone 5 stuck in recovery mode in iOS7

    I have an iPhone5
I have attempted to update to iOs7.
My phone is now stuck in recovery mode telling me to connect to iTunes, iTunes pops up with a notice saying "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes". however iTunes displays "Your iPhone software is up to date..." then has a button to "Restore iPhone" when I click this, it starts downloading iOs7 again, while it downloads iOs7 it keeps disconnecting my iPhone, making the pop-up come back.
I have gone though the process of downloading iOs7 nearly 7 times now and it's beyond a joke. I have looked up how to restore an iPhone, but nothing seams to work
Please help me as to what I can do

I had the same problem. After itunes extracted the new firmware, the apple logo would come on on my phone and then itunes would give me the unknown error (9). I tried everything I could think of to get ios 7 to download onto my phone but it kept going in a loop. What finally worked for me was after the firmware finished extracting on itunes and the apple logo appeared on my phone, I pressed the home button a few times. After that ios 7 started to load onto my phone. I don't know if it will work all the time, but it worked for me. Hope this works for you.

  • Downloaded ios7, now I'm stuck in recovery mode

I just downloaded ios7 via wifi (because I don't have my computer any more, which will be important later), and when I tried to install it, my phone got stuck in recovery mode. It tells me to plug it into iTunes, but to sync it with iTunes I'd have to restore it, which unfortunately would mean I lose everything on my phone because my computer is gone and I am currently using my wife's. Do I have any other options to try to fix this?
