Hi ,is it safe to download iOS 7.1.7. I was told that there was a problem with it and you had to contact Apple .Bryan
Backup to iTunes and iCloud before you update.
Accident can happen.
By the way, there's no IOS 7.1.7

You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
Two more questions:
1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?
Thanks so much, you saved me a lot of frustration but I am still going to install MS Office for Mac.

Double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar, close the Photos app by tapping & holding until it starts to wiggle, tap the red minus sign. Tap the home button when finished. See if doing that fixes things.

Has anyone got these problems with iOS6 and Siri?
Hi, yes, I'm another unhappy iPhone 4s user who made the mistake of upgrading to iOS6, (what a way to use my first post!!)
However, I won't gripe about the very very poor maps (please Google, release an app!), but I have noticed these other 2 problems and wondered if anyone else had:
1) After using Siri with my bluetooth headset to open some apps or do some work the phone automatically locks itself, which is very annoying when I can't handle my phone! For example, my phone isn't locked, I used Siri to find out what tomorrow's weather will be like, it tells me and then 3-5 seconds later the phone locks itself and I have to enter my unlock code. Or, I opened my Sky Go app using voice control, which it did .............. before locking the phone a few seconds afterwards. Arghhh!
2) Sometimes the screen dims itself. I have to lock the phone and unlock it and it reverts to its usual brightness.
Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with iOS6 or just my usage, but the battery seems to be draining more. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if its down to me, my apps or my phone!!

BI am right there with you! I have AT&T and have exchanged it etc...nothing seems to work. My iPH4 did not have these issues! Not sure what to do...besides try a new carrier.

Has anybody got Multicam problems
Ever since 10.0.8 I can't seem to get my multi angle editor to work. I can make a multicam clip, but when I drag it into the timeline I can't get the blade tool up to start editing it

i got a problem on my iPod touch 4 and bought it last month. It has an iTunes and usb port in it's screen. Do i need to have the receipt? because I lost it
That screen is asking you to connect the device to iTunes to restore it.

My apps will not download to iPad 2 This is something that has just recently happened. Have tried re-booting but that makes no difference .

Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on your iPad name on the left side of iTunes under devices and select Transfer Purchases from the pop up menu. Then sync with iTunes again. Don't eject the iPad yet. If you still don't see the apps on the iPad - click on the Apps Tab in the iTunes window on the right and see if they show up on any of the iPad screens. If they do - make sure that all of the apps are selected (checked) to sync - (checkmarks in the boxes next to the app names) - check to make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked and as well and then sync again. You may have to click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes if the apps were not selected to sync. -
hi - i have recently upgraded to an iphone and find that when i open my MS Outlook on my computer, the emails that were on the iphone get wiped out. Has anyone got a solution to this problem? I'm sure it's very simple when you know the answer! Thanks.
Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

I have a problem, my wife has an ipad with photos , emails etc etc, she has recently got herself a new iPad Air, has now been using that for two or more months, more photos (new) more emails and other stuff. What she wants to do is get all she wants from ipad 1 to new ipad without finishing up with 2 of everything which happen on previous occasion. I realise that she needs to tidy up ipad 1 first and get rid of thousands of emails etc. I need help.

When we did iPhone thru same process finished up with two of most things pics and emails. The emails alone were over 2 thousand and wife reluctant to delete them all. I would and just sort pics. I bought a new sim card today at the t-mobile shop and they activated the card just by putting credit on, i got home put the sim in the iphone and still got the same message. I have restored and shut down I dont know how many times and updated itunes, I am wishing i had said no to updating the phone as i have no iphone to use and apple say i should go to an apple shop.

My computer crashed and I had it moved over to my Sony Varo lap top, I have all sorts of problems since this has been done and when I installed the latest ITunes 11 download I thought it had solved my problems, but it hasn't! It still won't save my playlist, every time I open up my lap top my playlist has gone!

No, your iPhone i s telling you that you need iTunes 11.1 or greater on your computer in order to sync with the computer.
I've been having problems with iTunes on my PC so I re-installed it but it's been a nightmare trying to get it to work.
Then you should fix this issue with iTunes before you try to sync your iPhone to it.

Since upgrade to iOS 7 playing my music from iPad via Bose has been to say the 'least' hazy,not got same problem with phone,has anyone out there come across same problem
The sound on my iPad was pretty bad for Siri after upgrading to iOS 7. I ended up restoring to factory settings which did the trick, but is a big step, especially if you've lots of content on your iPad.
However it may be worth trying a basic Reset where data remains as is. To do that hold down both the Sleep & Home buttons together until the Apple logo is displayed on screen.

Has sky broadband got a problem with there connection
ive been on the phone to sky about my wireless connection 4 times this weekend beacause my wireless connection is making me ill, its slower than a dial up connection, ive done all the things what the guy said on the phone i.e change the channel on the router and everything else ive even bought new micro filters and phone adapters and its still terrible, its not the laptop its a bran new macbook pro and when i put my usb into my iphone and use my bluetooth its really quick, it takes ages to lod a simple homepage up like msn its driving me potty, i want a game of poker on sky poker and i keep getting a network error or gateway timeout messsage has anybody got any ideas, they said they have been doing updates but that was finished yesterday at 6

Ok i just built a new computer now i've installed XP went to install the Nvidia Nforce2 drivers for motherboard (K7N2 Delta-ILSR) they installed ok, Then i installed my video card drivers (MSI GeForce Fx5900SP-VTD256) upon reboot my computer failed to load it got passed the windows XP loading screen then just hung on a blank screen before it got to the winXP login screen, then restarted.
loaded up again said my windows failed to load up right before blah blah blah so i went into safe mode, where i was greeted with a message saying basic the MSI GeForce Fx5900SP-VTD256 display drivers was the reason behide my computers instability. so i uninstall them restarted my computer and my normal windows mode loaded up perfect, so i install the drivers again and believe it or not got the same problem. so i went into safe mode removed them and restarted, when i got back into normal mode i went to msi website and downloaded the driver for my videocard on there, install them and got same problem. so this time i went into safe mode and removed the Nvidia NForce drivers restarted my computer and believe it or not my computer loaded up in windows normal mode, but when i check my haardware section i also noticed it uninstalled my videocard, so i install my videocard drivers again restarted my computer, computer reloaded and went straight into windows normal mode with my video drivers installed, then i install the nvidia nforce drivers and restarted, guess what. yep my computer failed to load into normal windows mode so i went to safe mode again but this time there was no message waiting for me to say what the problem was so i uninstall my display drivers restarted and came here hope someone understands what i've wrote and can help me if you need anymore info on my system just askWell restarts on machines are commonly caused by two things...so again they must be checked first:
PSU has to be powerful enuff to supply the amps/power that the system requires...get something more beefy to power this rig.

Second check your memory to see if it's failing using memtest. If you get any failures after say 10 to 15 passes then you've got a problem. Run it overnight and see what it does...
After that I would look at compatibility of components in the system such as video card or sound card...
Driver combinations are important and certain versions don't play well together...

It sounds like you are getting this error code when you are trying to access the iTunes Store.
I found this article with this error listed in the symptoms section, for you that should help troubleshoot the issue named:

Resolution
The cause for these issues is a program that monitors the Winsock protocol for Windows conflicting with Apple software. These programs usually use a Layered Service Provider (LSP) that can help identify the particular program installed. To find the LSP:
Download Autoruns for Windows from Microsoft
Look for Autoruns.ZIP and open the compressed folder.
After reviewing the contents and the license, drag autoruns.exe to the desktop.
Open Autoruns.
Click on the tab that says Winsock Providers.
A list of items should appear. A column showing the publisher should be available.
For items other than Bonjour, which is from Apple, check with the publisher for updates to resolve the conflict between their software and Apple software.
If the publisher is unfamiliar to you, you may be able to use the table below to find out more information about the origin of the modifications to Windows.
