Has iTunes library a limited memory?

I Received some error message about the iTunes library memory (full), I've almost 30,000 songs, has this library a memory?

You will need to go to iTS Customer service to resolve the authorization/account issue. You will need to have all the tunes associated with one account. Go here and fill out the form using the 'contact us' button at the bottom of the page - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/authorization/
If you know where the dups are located you can remove them via the Finder but it is usually easier to use the 'keep' and 'copy' features in iTunes prefs and then find the dups using the 'View' menu once you have loaded some tunes into iTunes. You don't have to add the tunes all at one time but can do it piece meal.

  • Transferring itunes library from laptop to a PC which has itunes library

I have had a search for the answer to my question. A little while ago I transferred my itunes library from my old desktop to my laptop as I was moving house. I now have the desktop set up again, and basically want to copy the itunes library from the laptop to the PC.
Do I simply copy it to my external hard drive and then to my PC, or will this result in some of my library items being deleted from my PC? I have read a few threads and I'm a bit (or a lot) confused!

I am having a problem. My husband has a new laptop and wants to transfer his library from his pc (running xp) to his new laptop. I have followed the apple guide to step by step but when i get to the step where you drag the music icon to the ipod e: drive location in my computers there is no sign of the ipod as any lettered drive all that i can see are the usual c:, printers/scanners and iphone as a camera? How do i get the pc to recognise the ipod as a drive to allow me to drag and drop the library.
    thanks in advance.

  • Itunes Library Server Limitations

I have decided to use one of my PC's strictly as a music server. My question is has anyone tried to do this? I currently have 90GB of music stored, but not even close too the size of my collection. When the hard drive runs out of space will ITunes ask if I want to start another library on another drive or just quit? I figure I will need 3 or 4 500GB drives for everything I want to load. My CD collection is close to 3700 albums. I already have it connected to my Home Theater via a Digital connection (Creative Sound Card X-Fi Elite Pro). If I am the first to try this I will keep everyone posted.

Well I found out what happens when the PC hard drive runs out of space. ITunes displays an erroe message and there are no options to continue on another drive. Only option is to delete something off of the drive. This is disappointing since I have two 500GB drives on the way. Am I the only one that decided to try this?

  • Can i move my itunes library to a sdhc card

i am trying to use my pcmcia card in my mercedes, i cannot download my songs from itunes, anyone know how?

To expand on Chris' response - you can drag the entire iTunes folder to the flash drive. You should be able to run your iTunes library from the memory stick. You would have to authorize which ever computer you are using to play any DRM material. When launching iTunes, hold down the 'option' key and follow the dialog.
I have never tried to run my iTunes from an memory stick but I do use external HD so it should also work on a memeory stick - but then again I have been incorrect in the past.

  • HT1660 iTunes Library

Can I increase the size of my iTunes library as I am trying to transfer all my photos onto my iPad and the message its giving it that it requires 1mb more of space?

Your iTunes library is limited by the size of your hard drive. The database will grow as more records are entered into. You can add media until you run out of room.
I suspect you have already been given the correct explanation but feel free to post a screenshot of the error message. Compare the current free space on the device with the size of the Photos folder you want to sync. Windows Explorer should be able to tell you how large the folder and its contents are.

  • Can a Time Capsule hard drive store external memory besides backups (eg. HD Video, iTunes library, ETC.)

I'm going to get a MacBook Pro soon, and I'm going to get the 256GB Flash Storage, but I will need extra memory, mostly because I edit a lot of HD video. I may store my iTunes library, but I'm not sure on that one (I currently have almost no songs, and my 254 GB hard drive is almost full on my PC! I do not plan to transfer all of my files, though, but in then long run, I will need more memory.)
I know that time capsule has 1 TB of memory, and it is marked as an external hard drive, and I know it's meant to store backups of your computer, but can it store things other than backups, and serve as a full external hard drive (Like a giant USB flashdrive), and store thing like HD Video, music, and any other sort of file?
I just need an external hard drive, and time capsule seems like a good option, but I need to know if it's for backups exclusively, or if you can store anything on it (Again, like a giant USB flashdrive!).
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to seeing the replys!

Ok..  the TC can be used as network hard drive.. you can put all your files on it.
BUT.. please think carefully about this.
The Time Capsule is designed for Time Machine as backup target.. principally for wireless laptops.
If you use large files remotely.. and by wireless .. they will take forever to load.. the TC is slow but wireless is even slower.
It is not a giant USB.. but you can buy a cheap USB drive now that we have USB3 on MBP latest version?? it is fast and cheap and a local drive.
Time Capsule has no raid.. no backup.. no protection against failure of the disk or the device or accidental deletion or corruption. That makes it unsuitable as a file store.
Apple do not sell a file store..
You can buy a true NAS.. Synology or QNAP.. Netgear also make some good ones.
Or you can get a Mac Mini and run it as file store.. with or without a server version OS.
Anything that offers you proper backup and fast file transfer.. which the TC fails to do.

  • The iTunes library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory available.

For about a week I've been getting this message when I'm listening to music in iTunes (usually in Cover Flow mode). I usually get the message after listening to music about 20+minutes. First the album artwork begins to "white out" or is replaced by a music note pic (like when there is no album artwork data available) and then if I don't shut iTunes down and restart it I will get the "The iTunes library file cannnot...." error message. If I continue to ignore it or click "do not show message again" box, iTunes will eventually stop responding and shut down.
My computer has 77GB of memory available.
    I've tried:
    - turning off home sharing
    - clearing cache
    - running virus scan
    - made sure there is no memory quota on
    Any help would be appreciated!

  • Only minority of Itunes Library has been put on Itunes match.

I've just downloaded Itunes Match for my Mac, Iphone 4 and Ipad, and have it turned on on all devices, however only a small minority of my Library has gone to the Cloud, whereas preferably I'd like all of it due to limited space! Any ideas?

    Hi,
Availability of your music on your iOS devices is not instantaneous.
You need to let match complete its scan of your iTunes library. This may take some time depending on the size of your library and the number of tracks that need to be uploaded.

  • What does it mean when you get a "The iTunes library file cannot be saved. There is not enought memory available." ? And what can I do to correct it?

Well, I installed the latest iTunes this AM, works perfectly.  Although for some reason it did lock up after playing a song today.
Horror stories?  That's a bit overly dramatic.
    No, it isn't.
The issue you are experiencing is one that has occurred in multiple versions of iTunes, a simple search would have revealed this.
A simple search was conducted, no one seemed to have an answer.  Do you always adopt such a haughty attitude?  Or was I just lucky.

  • ITune fails to burn large audio books:The iTune library file cannot be saved. There is not enough memory.

    Hi,
I am trying to burn large audible audio book to virtual CD and iTune 11.2.2 keeps crashing midway. After spending hours trying to get information off technical forum, here is the description and possible explanation of what is happening:
The burn start normally, iTune  create 10 tracks of 8 mn per CD.
The burn progress pass 10 CD (up to 30 CD).
The a message box with: "The iTune library cannot be saved. There is not enough memory" appears.
In the back ground the process keeps going for another 2 or 3 CD then stops.
This is NOT a memory problem:
My computer still has over 100 Gb of HDD left
On my i7, only 4 of the 8 core were used.
The whole process didn't go over 3.5 Gb of RAM (out of 8).
    I reinstalled, iTune.
    I re-imported the files.
I raised the processes priority to High.
From the forums, This problem started past iTune 7.x and x64 bit processors whenever iTune used more that 1.5 Ghz of RAM.
It does follow the behavior of a 32bit bit system going Out Of Memory.
The way I see this: Apple has to either create a fix to reuse the current iTune memory properly or create an update to 64bit so it can use whatever RAM is available in the computer.
Does anyone else have any other idea?
For those who want to play lawyers, I am not American. In my country, it is legal to remove DRM off content that you legally own. The fact that Audible softwares were made by drunk monkeys is enough of a reason.

  • I have a new Windows tablet computer with limited hard drive space, and cannot transfer my itunes library to the hard drive. Can I run t media from an external hard drive? If so, how do I transfer my files?

I have a new Windows tablet computer with limited hard drive space (32 GB), and cannot transfer my itunes library to the hard drive. Can I run itunes from an external hard drive? I have tried to follow some of the directions on this site, but am having no success. Thanks.

iTunes will run fine with the media on an external drive.
However, I suggest that a tablet computer with a tiny hard drive is not ideal as the primary computer for managing an iTunes library, even a small one. If you have another machine, perhaps a big, boxy, inexpensive old desktop with a decent amount of storage, that might be a better choice.

  • Most of my iTunes library has disappeard. I cannot find them when I search in the iTunes folder either. How can I get them back?

I had hundreds of songs in my iTunes library, but when I open it now, I have about 40. They were a combination of downloaded songs from the iTunes store and songs loaded from my personal CD collection. I have searched for advice online. I have searched my iTunes folder and my recycle bin, and my songs are no longer there. I did not download a new version or plug in a device. Nothing has changed. Where could my songs be?

I can't tell from your post what you have and what you don't have. Are you saying the files are no longer on your computer, no longer on your iPod, or both?
