but how much is just PR blahblah (makes small format camera images look like medium format) .... how much is fact?

i have spend a few minutes with it.
loaded some DNG files and compared it to LR.
i noticed that the highlight and shadow adjustments in photoninja work more restricted.
they don´t affect the medium tones as much as LR.
for the images i tried it on i liked it better then lightroom.
the colors are way better out of the box. that really suprises me.
i have only looked at a dozend of photos yet but color rendition seems to be great out of the box.
the photos i have looked at show a blue yamaha R1 bike on a racetrack.
no matter what LR profile i use the color is off by default (too purble or too light blue).
the photoninja color is SPOT ON without any editing.
i sure will spend some more time testing photoninja.

best i could achive with LR and with photoninja.

I've actually bought the software (Keith may call me a sucker here, I suppose ).
I do agree in part with Keith in that it's handling of highlights, is not as graceful as LR. You can get yellow hotspots which the colour correction will not get rid of. Also it's processing workflow is a different. I actually get the approach and have no problems with it.
I must say that the images do come out with more detail (especially in shadow areas) and, to me a better 'look'.
However, every bit of image software has it's own look too - put the file through LR, Capture NX2 (which I also have), Bibble (sorry, Corel) etc and they will have differences. I actually find PNs photos more natural looking. Highly scientific tests with my family comparing processed images had them all gravitating to PN (lol).
After using the software for a bit, I sent a feedback email to PN and received a prompt, detailed response from Jim Christian (the founder) - that bodes well for a continuous-improvement approach from PN.
I covered a wide range of topics in my email all of which received a response which left me feelling good about the future of the software.
I, for one really appreciate that it is trying to be 'best of breed' raw converter. This is clearly a different paradigm for LR, which (of course is also trying to be best raw converter), but has a much larger functional footprint by design.
I'l specifically comment on performance (since I am one of the people with the 'laggy sliders' problem in LR4.1 - I'm currently working out LR4.2, with unfortunately not positive results at the moment) - the user-experience in PN is consistent - by that I mean, no laggy sliders and the application informs you when it is processing - that means that they know how to manage their UI, worker and tools threading. When LR fires up 30+ threads (on a W7 machine) and consumes 50% of CPU (still on LR4.2) just when the mouse moves over the image - that's interesting from an application developers' pov.
I'm sorry to hear Keith that you have found it buggy - that's not been my experience. And I do understand your position in that you want to compare LR now to PN now. That's a purchasor's position - what doI get for my dollar now. I'm more inclined to look at PN from a startup-competitor and directional perspective.
I'm actually glad I spent the money on PN to help foster some competition and also to learn from what other tools can show me. Seeing a different result gets me out of the visual comfort zone. After a while you just don't see that LR does *something* to greens and starts with a somewhat processed raw file (opps! that's back to the "is zero, zero" thread).
I thought I'd give you a detailed reply Hamada, since I thought your OP reasonable and inquring (even in an adobe forum).

In the new Version 3.0 it is not under 'Format'/Custom Number Format.
I did not find it! Has someone found a way to do it the old way.

There is no option in Numbers 3.0 for Custom Format. If that is mandatory for your purposes, it is still available in Version 2.3.

After a reboot my iPhone 6 Plus now has someone else's Apple ID as the login??? I bought the phone 3 months ago brand new!

The title says it all.
Some background info:
1. I purchased the iPhone 6 Plus new in the box at Target on January 10 2015. The phone has only ever been mine, and it was not a refurbished device.
2. Absolutely no one else has access to my PC or iTunes, whether it be physical access or knowing my usernames or passwords.
What happened;
1. Phone fell out of my hand face down on my patio. It had the leather Apple case on it. Picked it up and sure enough the entire front screen was smashed.
2. Phone responds to touch, but not property. I contemplate doing a backup and then resetting but I skip that and just do a "erase all content and settings"
3. Phone reboots and prompts me for this Apple ID (x*****@1*****.com) to log in.
4. That is NOT my Apple ID, not even close
5. I have no idea how the strange Apple ID is now embedded in MY phone, I have absolutely no way to access my own phone!
What I have done:
1. Called and spoke to several Apple reps; technical, Apple care, customer service, and then finally a senior supervisor named Matt.
2. Matt spent over an hour on the phone with me discussing this and he decided I should email him my proof of purchase directly through an Apple link that he emailed me.
3. I scanned every document I had with the receipt, paperwork, IMEI info and sent it over. He reviewed and says he will have to put in a request to do a force unlock which will remove the strange Apple ID and allow me back in
4. I set up an appointment at the nearest Apple Store to fix the phone. They do not know of the Apple ID issue and I was told they wouldn't be equipped to handle that anyway until the phone would be able to be unlocked.
5. So now I have to wait for Apple to force unlock my phone before (hopefully) my appointment on Tuesday so I can get in to it and they can fix it
Now from all the people I have talked to and all the Googling I have done I have found no reference to this happening to anyone ever. The only related incidents like mine is if someone bought the phone through another consumer or sold it online and did not wipe their ID properly. This however doesnt apply to me since I bought it from Target, unless they sold me some second hand phone.
Any opinions or insights on what it is that has actually happened to my phone from the time it broke and rebooted to magically having someone else's Apple ID as the authentication?
I really hope someone here has some insight.

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

Usually for any CPU we issue opatch apply from the patch directory.
and its mentioned in the readme.html as well.
But for this one off patch, there isn't anything mentioned in the readme.html.
All it says is

The patch can always be installed in 2 ways.
1. Do a cd and then run opatch
cd <patchlocation>
opatch apply
2. Else specify the patch location as an argument
opatch apply <full path to the patch i.e the one you do cd above> ...
Both the above styles yield same result.

My email is has someone else's name as the recipient, but with my address

I'm receiving email that has:
"To: "someone else's name" " (it shows my cousin's name, not mine)
Hovering over the name shows my correct email address.
My email acct preference has my name correct in the "Full Name"
This just started happening on it's own, I changed nothing.
It's all emails, even from sources I've been receivig eemails from for a long time.
Any ideas?

Has someone installed some kind of data logging *SPYWARE* on my iMac?

I found a file I don't recognize sitting in my ~/Library/Preferences folder called "HOME Preferences".
This 4K file contains this:

.. and that's all. IS this a symptom of some kind of spyware installed or attempted to be installed without my knowledge by someone else who had access to my machine? The datalogging settings bother me as does a setting for user feedback of 0 which sounds like a setting to keep the presence of a datalogger quiet from popping up or showing. How can I figure out using unix commands in the terminal or something more convenient what application this preference file belongs to? This file has an install date of late 2008, so if someone is spying on me, they've been doing it over a year without my knowledge--that disturbs me a bit. I was nosing around trying to figure out why this G4 macMini which is supposed to be recording my two household security cameras has been running so poorly. I have no idea what this file installed on it is all about. I don't believe it to be related at all to the Security Spy software I use for recording the cameras feeds to hard disk.

First off, don't panic.
'Data logging' can mean many things, and take many forms - not all of which are nefarious.
If you think about it, it would to be a pretty dumb hacker who infiltrates your machine to install a logger and leaves such a big, bold footprint behind.
That said, I don't know what this relates to, specifically, but a quick google on some of those keywords (especially the LastUsedDeviceTypeName) hints at something to do with a TomTom GPS unit. Did you install/attach a TomTom GPS back in 2008 when this preference file was attached?
Data logging is often used in GPS terms to track paths/routes, so it would seem to make sense.

I'm trying to read/write an eeprom with an i2c protocol and ni pxi 6551 module.
At first, I tried to simply read the eeprom, because i know i am expecting 11111111 as a response, but it did not work.
So I tried something easier, and I succesfully wrote a pcf8574ap.
But i can't read it.
Seems like I am not able to "hear" the answer; when the sda line should be filled with an 8bit information, it remains at Z-state.
And because I am using the i2c library, i think there might be a problem with this library, or i am doing something wrong.
Hoping someone has an answer.

My New BT Mouse Has Someone Else's Name

This is kind of weird. A few months ago (March?) when the new 24" Macs came out, I ordered one on-line. At the same time, I ordered a BT mouse. I have had some periodic connection problems with the Mouse but for the past little while, all has been fine.
By chance, today, I clicked on the BT symbol up in the menu bar at the top of the screen and you are presented with a list of options "Turn BT Off - Discoverable" etc. Under "Devices" it says "danielmellili's mouse" and if I click on it that then takes me to the battery life and Disconnect and Open Mouse Preferences.
I could be wrong, but my name is not "danielmellili". This may be a stupid question, but does that mean that Apple sold me a refurbished mouse that someone had used and setup but then returned, and then was sold to me as a new mouse with my new computer? Or does it really not mean anything at all. What the heck is "danielmellili's mouse"? When I go into the mouse preferences, there is a field box for "Name" and it says "danielmellili's mouse". I would be pretty upset if they sold me a refurbished or returned mouse but sold it as new.
Any help would be appreciated.

It certainly sounds like that mouse was once set up by someone else. You have a right to be suspicious. From your post it sounds like you got it directly from Apple online. If that's so I'd call the local Apple store for a Genius appointment and take it along. You should be able to get a new one from them if you are nice about it. If you got it from some other online source, well that's another story. Anything goes in that case. In any case you shouldn't sit on it for too long or you may have to live with it.

Could someone compare their GarageBand 6 Package Registry.plist

I've upgraded from GarageBand 5.1 to GarageBand 6.0.5
But in Console I notice that that a plist is missing:
Missing plist: "/Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Package Registry.plist"
Could someone with GarageBand 6.0.5 (GargeBand from iLife '11) look at their GarageBand Package Registry.plist and post what it says?
Using TimeMachine I was able to restore my old one. This is what its says

1) Tried using Channel 1 & 2 instead of 1 & 3 and still got the unseparated sound. Also, when I look at the input channel on a Real Instrument track, it only gives me the option of Mono 1, Mono 2 or Stereo 1/2.
2) The new third option when creating a new track, “Electric Guitar” doesn't seem to show an input source like a Real Instrument track does in the info pane. Instead it has the assortment of amps and pedals there. Still, as long as that track was selected, I got the amps and pedals effects on my guitar.
Which is where I may be missing something - At minimum, I'm hoping to be able to play/record live into/through GB with at least 2 channels, vocal and guitar, each with unique effects mixes. I can setup Track 1 with my vocal effects and the right input, and Track 2 with my guitar effects and the right input. But if Track 1 is selected in GB, I hear Track 1 effects on both vocal and guitar. If Track 2 is selected, I hear Track 2 effects on both vocal and guitar. I can't get the track characteristics to stay isolated to their respective inputs... am I missing something?
And then further to that, the Audiogram 6 also has a 3/4 and a 5/6 channel input - Shouldn't that give me more options in the input source pane?
