Has the 7.6.1 update fixed ANYTHING for anyone?

Has anyone who was previously trying to figure out the problems with the iTunes 7.6 update had any success with the 7.6.1 update? There has been a lot of fury and frustration over this version of iTunes and one has little recourse if they didn't backup their library right before the update (since iTunes 7.6 update renders the library unusable if you try to revert to 7.5...thanks Apple!) I'm just wondering if anyone who has began posting mid-January after the initial update has found any solutions.
I'm hesitant to update to 7.6.1 based on what I've read so far. And I find it unbelievable that Apple has essentially provided an update that has disabled so many people's primary music playback device and jeopardized their reputation in such a drastic way. iTunes is the backbone of Apple's growth market! Word of this has spread fast. A majority of people use their computer for 3 things: Internet, email, and music. Well, so much for the music part if you were foolish enough to upgrade to iTunes 7.6.
I used to brag about not being a guinea pig beta tester like the PC world was whenever Microsoft updated. Unfortunately, I can no longer make that claim.
FWIW, my work around has been quite simple. Launch iTunes and walk away for 10-20 minutes. That's how long the beachball lasts. Then I'm fine. iTunes actually works better for me on my Power PC G5 in that I don't get an 8-20 second beachball every time I go to GET INFO to alter tags.
I'd love to hear how anyone else is dealing with it.

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Hi all,
Until this evening I had a 'freezer' 24" iMac (i.e an iMac that froze constantly with video problems) and as it was new have just returned it to my local Apple store and replaced it.
I've re-installed Leopard (clean install) and my apps but now Software Update is bleating at me about "iMac Software Update 1.3". Given threads on these pages and others I am extremely hesitant about installing it.
Has 1.3 actually fixed anything for anybody or am I better of staying clear until further updates come along?

I've left the update uninstalled for the same reason. I haven't updated anything since I installed Leopard since I just don't trust these updates. While my computer is not 100% stable I can live with it as it is and I don't want things to get as annoying as some other poor folks are experiencing.
I'd say unless Apple release a "iMac freezing solution update" that is proved to be effective you and I will both be ignoring Software update.

There are companies that specialize in data retrieval but it's costly (probably cheaper to buy a new iPod) and more than likely as Allan said, your circuits are probably damaged beyond all hope of retrieving anything. It's worth calling Apple you maybe able to get a discount or a refurbished iPod. Can't hurt to ask, Good luck. (And in the future... no texting in the john.) Sorry, couldn't resist it.

Have you been able to use the Mac Mini directly attached to the plasma/LCD/projector with out going through the Denon AVR? Even with 10.9.3 installed?
I have a Pioneer AVR and I have the Mac attached via a HDMI to HDMI and all is working for me. Can your Denon do some upscaling? Some AVR, like my VSX-53 can change the scaling of the input video. Meaning if I still had my Apple TV 2 which outputs 720P only, can be upscaled in my AVR to 1080i or 1080P or even 24fps. Heck, I could even plug in an old style Red, White, Yellow cable and upscale it to 1080P and output it HDMI.
I am wondering if your Denon is able to do that and it might be set wrong. Check the owners manual for such settings. Even the plasma/LCD/project could be doing the upscaling too. So check that too.

If that were the case, there would be about 300,000 MacBook owners with this problem. That is certainly NOT the case. I've seen two or three posts here about something like that, but this is a technical support forum, you're supposed to find people with problems here! You're not going to see any posts from the hundreds of thousands of MacBook owners who don't have that problem. Even if only 10% of those 300,000 MacBook owners posted here, there'd be 30,000 people with that problem posting here. There's nothing like that going on now.

You should contact the developer directly to inform them of any issues.
There should be links in the App and if not, there should be links
to the developer's site and support in their presentation in the App Store.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

HT6114 Why has the 10.9.2 update killed my mac it loads up but then freezes trying to do anything!!!!!

Well after doing the 10.9.2 update last night my mac is now a piece of scrap. I can't get anything off it. It loads then freezes on trying to do anything can't even turn it off properly and was fine before!!!!

That's what I wanted to know. If it works in safe mode, which is what I asked, you have third-party software that is causing your problems. However, it doesn't look like it is fully defeated in safe mode, or something is damaged in the OS.
Uninstall everything you have the installs a startup item, launch daemon, or launch agent, or extension. If all works ok, install them one at a time. When it crashes, you've found the culprit.
EDIT: You may need to erase the drive and reinstall. You could likely restore your user data from your backup, but don't reinstall any utilities until you are ready to troubleshoot each one. Don't ever install anything that purports to clean, optimize, speed up, protect, or otherwise maintain your Mac. Those are the things that tend to cause the most problems.
