Has Verizon been Hacked, would they tell you they have?

with as much activity that has occurred recently with breach of security thru the Fire Wall (ha) and iron clad servers that are impenetrable like a strainer is  "America's Largest Network" dealing with what we don't want to Hear Now- they have been Hacked. Don't think that would go over too well with most of us because it would impossible to inform us what that really means regarding ALL the info they control and how it is slowly getting out of their control. Just some food for thought to nibble on while you watch that little vortex spins on your computer, waiting for the next text message to come along....wish they would put some multi-colors in that spin while we wait.    Have A Great Day & Enjoy                            Mahalo~ jlG

Every Thursday morning the account servers go through maintenance.(IE no access to your account) try in a couple of hours.

  • User name sent to my email address, but never arrives. Has Firefox been hacked and user info being sent to the wrong people?

Had some issues with Firefox 35.0.1 trying to post on this forum. Fox would not accept my login, so I requested to reset my password. Password reset O.K. still a no go, thought my login was bad and requested them send my "User name" (same email) User name never arrives. I had to create a new account on the forum to post this question as I can't get my old login to work.
Anyone else having this problem or has Firefox been hacked and my "User Name" sent to someone else?

    Hi maheman,
Can you try to recover the password with the email and private message me a timestamp. I can ask an admin to take a look at the technical side of what is happening, the email is removed from the public thread, however it may be necessary to investigate. (please include just the username in the private message)
    Thank you.

I wish it were that but a long time ago when I had a problem with the gadgets with iGoogle back 6 months ago thereabouts I was asked to disable it then and I did and I just went to re-check and it is still not enabled, however, it will not let me un-install it though.. It only gives me an option to enable or disable.. Any advice ? So I'm wondering if it is something else still or is there a problem with the avast still ?
thanks again for your help. Mind you that this all started when blogger went down ..

  • My email address was recently hacked and they have changed all my passwords. Is there a way i can delete an ICloud account on my phone, mac and Ipad without putting the password in as i do not know this?

    Hi
My outlook account was recently hacked and they have changed my passwords, secret questions and my information meaning i am unable to access this account. I have the hacked account set up on icloud for all of three apple devices. I have been reading online that to change or delete an account i need to login, or turn find my iphone off which i cannot do without the password!
I would be really grateful if anyone knew a way i could sort this out to fully delete the old icould account.
    Thanks very much!

Contact the Apple account security team for your country and request assistance: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security.  If you can prove your identity to them, they can reset the password and help you regain control of the account.

  • I need to sync an ipad mini with a regular ipad. If I were to open them plug them both into the same computers itunes, would they have identical information?

You will need to choose one as the "master", back that unit up to iTunes, then restore the other unit from that backup and then sync all the same content and apps. That's the only way they'd have identical data. If you need to keep then synched on an ongoing basis, you'll probably need to use some sort of cloud-based service such as iCloud or Dropbox to hold the data, which of course will require that your apps support that service for storage of documents.

My wife's iTunes used ID will not work.  Tried resetting the password, but email was not received.  Tried using personal questions method, but would not accept the correct date of birth, so could not go any further.  Has her iTunes ID been hacked?  How can I fix this?

    Thanks for that advice @randers4.
I linked through and submitted my info as a "topic not covered" in the iCloud section. After entering the serial number of my MBP it turns out I wasn't eligible for technical support (though I don't think this is hardware related support) and the final suggestion was to take my computer into an Apple store. I called my local Apple reseller and asked for assistance. The customer service rep was very nice but unable to help, so suggested I call Apple Support on 1300 321 456. I did so and, again, spoke to two very polite and helpful customer service people (I was transferred to security services). I didn't have to be on hold to speak to either rep for more than a few seconds! After trying a few different things, he worked out what was happening...
So, to cut a long story short, to solve the problem in my OP, all I had to do was log out of iCloud in my System Preferences and log back in using my current Apple ID. [Edited to add that I had to sign out of everything I was currently signed in to with my Apple ID before logging out and in again.]
    Problem solved!

  • How do you no if you have a virus or been hacked and how do you get rid of it

A couple of time now I have found my found on randon web pages or message is it possible i have been hacked or got a virus

Finding a strange site open in Safari isn't a conclusive sign that someone has hacked your iCloud account. You could simply be seeing redirects or "pop-ups" from some page you had loaded. This could easily cause tabs that you didn't realize were there to be noticed later.
Similarly, finding that you have received strange messages in the Messages app isn't suspicious. That just means someone is text-spamming you. You can block the individual doing this if you're running iOS 7.
However, if you are finding that your phone appears to be sending messages that you haven't sent, and has opened pages when all tabs in Safari were closed, then the iCloud account has been hacked.
If your iCloud account is also your Apple ID, and you think you have been hacked, you will need to immediately log in to appleid.apple.com and change your Apple ID password. While you are there, you should also enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, to prevent hackers from taking control of it, and potentially locking you out of your iOS devices permanently.

  • HT4061 I have lost my ITouch and I cant get the serial # to ask for help. I purchased it on line from Apple. Would they have a record of the number? If so, how do I get help without the number?

Oh no. I lost my ITouch. How can I get my serial #. Would Apple have it on record since I bought it on line from them about two years ago. I no longer have the box

See the bottom of this reply:
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
    - iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number

  • If i go into an apple store would they have peoples icloud passwords on their system?

and if so would they be able to unblock my phone? getting desperate here!

By no means. The seller could have easily stolen it from someone else and just sold it as is, or the original owner may have remotely erased it through iCloud which would have left the Activation Lock intact. That's a much more likely scenario than a valid owner selling the iPhone without having remove his/her data. Most such owners would definitely want to erase the iPhone so as to remove all their personal data and hence would have done so before shipping the phone or would be more than willing to cooperate afterwards.
As has been suggested, if the seller won't respond and help, your mom needs to file a complaint with eBay.
    Regards.

  • HT4847 my iphone says that an icloud backup has not been completed in 2 weeks , but I have tried several times to complete a backup, & each time , after a certain amount of time where it says it is 'backing up", it then says "the last backup could not be

My iphone says that icloud has not been backed up in 2 weeks...but after several attemps to back up, it continues to say "the latest backup did not complete"...I did have the phone plugged into my computer & connected to wi-fi..and it was locked...any idea why it won't complete the backup? it says total storage is 5.0 GB & available is 3.3 GB

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

  • If my plan is a family plan is it possible to put one line on Verizon edge or would all of the lines have to be on Verizon edge

i have my upgrade next month and i would like to know if it would be possible to pay off a device monthly through Verizon edge without effecting the other devices on the plan with 2 year contracts

Certainly. You can have only one line on Edge if you like. It does not effect any other line.

  • I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now my e-mails say, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  We have an Exchange server at work.  ??

I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now I cannot retreive or send my e-mails.  We have an Exchange server at work.  I still receive the e-mails on all my devices just fine and I can see the subject headings & a small portion of the body of the e-mail, but when I open the e-mails there is no body and it reads, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  Very aggrevating and is not helping my business at ALL!!  Same has happened with both iPads we own now.

Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.

  • Just found out my computer has been hacked through firefox. do you have a scan to prevent this from happening

Facebook informed me that my account had been accessed from somewhere in Washington using my browser, Firefox.

Thanks for your comments. I generally keep it quite secure. I did open it up for a short time to serve some e-mail accounts. But, shut that down when all this happened. I also do intend to become somewhat of an expert on this, and I have read a lot on many sites over the past few days before posting here. However nothing I could find answered my questions directly.
As for the post being general, the first 3 paragraphs were to describe what happened. I just figured that the background might be helpful. The question(s) themselves were in the fourth paragraph. I guess I might have been vague. So, let me try to restate them again.
My questions are as follows: (1) do the facts that I have relayed give a strong indication that my computer was hacked into or could they just be erroneous behavior? (2) How can I tell if someone has logged into my system (whether they hacked in or not); and (3) where can I find in the system when someone has logged in and for how long they were logged into my computer (again, whether they had permission or not)? Seems like the answer to both of these questions should be in a log file somewhere.
A bonus would be if I could track where they were and what files they accessed, but I believe that is not possible under OS X, without some extra software that I did not have installed at the time.
Thanks again. I appreciate any input here. It is unnerving to have someone access your computer without permission.
