Hate my Revolution

I have had my phone since Dec 30, 2011 and have had nothing but trouble with it.  After only 6 weeks of owning it I had to have a factory restore.  After that I realized there were several things that had NEVER been working and now were.  Since the phone was new to me I wasn't even aware that it had "errors".  And of course it waited to show it's problems until after the magical 14 day return period.
Even after the restore I continue to have problems almost on a daily basis.  Aps freeze, I don't get texts or phone calls.  Last week I had a voicemail notification even thought my phone never rang.  When I called VM I had 3 new ones and 2 were from the week prior!!!  One of which was very important.  I do not have a land line and having a cell phone that doesn't work is unacceptable.  I have been back to the store 3 times since I bought it and each time they tell me I just need to move aps to my sd card because they are slowing the phone down.  I don't even have very many aps!  I can't download them because they all end up freezing and forcing me to delete them anyhow!
I am beyond frustrated and have had Verizon for 10 years.  Looks like I may have to move on since it appears they aren't willing to help anyone with this obvious issue.  If this many people are having issues with this phone it should be recalled and replaced with something NEW...not a refurbished version of itself.  Verizon would be smart to take action instead of asking us which aps are causing issues and such because it's the PHONE not the things we are doing on it!
At the least we should all be able to buy a new phone of our choice with special 2 yr pricing instead of the full retail cost.  We were guinea pigs for this phone and they need to pull it!!!!!

The phone was replaced, In their store at least. They know the phone is garbage but refuse to do anything about it. they wont even replace it with the phone that replaced it( the spectrum). Which would be a blessing compared to the nightmare revolution, but still kinda sketchy because its still an LG. I just posted about this exact thing:
"Just got off of the phone for the 5th time since I've owned my LG revolution(6 months now). Every time i complain about the same issues that I've had since purchasing the phone(random resets, 4hr battery life THANKS BLOATWARE!, internet bogging and dropping, freezing at least twice a day). I calmly asked if they could replace my garbage phone for a different phone, possibly even the spectrum that replaced the revolution for obvious reasons.. They refuse and say the only thing that they can do is send me another revolution. I asked what if i get the new phone and it had the same issues. He replied with "then we would send you another revolution." So... let me get this straight... a phone that got replaced and is not even available for purchase anymore will just keep getting replaced by the same garbage phone even though they all have the same issues? What a joke.. They told me the other options were to buy a new device at full price, open a new line and pay the discounted price along with the extra monthly for the new line i don't need, or purchase a pre-owned device for another $400... Oh joy.. exactly what i want to do, spend even MORE money with a company that's customer service is obviously a complete joke. I just spent $300 on this phone, and now my only options are to spend more money... Hmm sounds like a GREAT deal Verizon! TAKE ALL MY MONEY! I pay $104 a month for one line as it is, never had an insurance claim or any other problems, and i have one issue and they cant even replace a rather obvious problem with a different phone. Also requested them to lift the early termination so i could go to a company that will treat their customers a little better and they also refused to do that."

  • New Dance Dance Revolution coming October, is Konami too late to the party?

While the inclusion of 8 arrow play , its reminding me of a machine that was of an import origin , Dance Dance Revolution Solo, where there were up down left right , upper left, upper right arrows. So now they think its time for us to play something of that nature, too many years after a japanese release with that kind of play! Come on Konami, you cant deny the fact your user base already knows about the import machines and import your games from Japan. Then again, some companies think some japanese games are too weird for america , and leave em alone.

    Mr. Large:
I really hate to break it to you, but I have been working with computer recording and synthesis programs for 20 years. I've tried everything. GarageBand is hands down the easiest program ever devised for recording and editing music. Nothing else comes close.
That being said, one has to understand the basics of what music is and how it is organized in order to be able to use GarageBand effectively. Composing a song is a much more elaborate undertaking than snapping a picture with a point-and-shoot camera and cropping it (as in iPhoto).
As for how to do anything in it, first, RTFM (Read the Fabulous Manual) in this case the built-in Help feature under the Help menu. Then you can go to Amazon.com and find a dozen or so books in print on working with GarageBand. If you really want to learn how to make music, I have two suggestions that I give to newbies: 1) Join a choir or chorus in your community or at your church, and obviously attend all the rehearsals, and 2) take piano lessons from a piano teacher. By doing these you will learn how music is organized and put together. That's the essence of GarageBand or any other program for recording music.

  • Love / Hate Relationship with Photoshop Elements

I am having a love/hate relationship with Photoshop Elements!  Love the page design capabilities and hate the lack of capability on the print end.  Kodak does not give any choice in the book they will print from Elements.  All I can get is a #$%& die cut cover!  Is there anyway that I can order other options that I know Kodak has available when creating a book using Elements and their site.  I want to be able to choose a custom cover!  I have tried Kodak to get answers.  I have tried Adobe (impossible, unless maybe you pay).  Neither are very helpful!  The only answers I get are use the Elements designed pages and place them onto pages that you create in their software.  Problem is that one needs a jpeg file to do this.  No online program seems to recognize .PSD or .PSE file types.   HELP!
Bob, Barbara you both seem to be very knowledgable...any ideas...
Anyone with any help can answer here or [email protected]
    Terry

    Terry:
Yeah, the photobook print options are limited. (Although, the built in Kodak and Shutterfly books are very nice)
One thing to try differently is to use the Print At Home selection on that first screen after the clicking on the PhotoBook option (assuming you are using PSE8 here) (use Photo Collage with PSE7)
Down that path, you will get a few more choices in page size. It will still create a multi-page document (a .pse) while your building your book, and when done, you can print the pages of the book out as a .pdf. Many book printing services will take in a PDF.
Another option is to do a single page at a time and save them as .jpg's. A little more work in keeping your various files together and ordered properly, but it would give you ultimate flexibility.

    Mfg

LR 5.7 does not have uninstaller file , you can simply trash it from Applications folder.
Also if you wish , you may back Lightroom catalog , it will be present under Pictures folder on your Mac.

  • Aperture 3.1 - Love Full Screen Mode, Hate The System Lock-Ups

    Hi Guys,
I don't know if I'm the only person encountering this issue but Aperture 3 is driving me nuts. While I absolutely love the program and the full-screen mode, what I hate is the frequent lock-ups that force me to completely restart my iMac. Having the application lock-up is highly annoying but at least in "normal" mode I could kill the application from the Dock or Activity Monitor. However, when I'm operating in full-screen mode then I can't switch out of the application and seem to have no option but to completely restart my computer. This problem, which I first started experiencing with version 3.0 but which does seem to have been addressed in version 3.1, is happening so often that I'm afraid now to even use full-screen mode.
This problem only, to my memory, seems to happen when making adjustments but it does not seem to matter which adjustment. In the most recent occurrence the lock-up happened when I cancelled the application of a Crop by clicking the X icon on the Crop HUD.
Does anyone know either a) what might be causing the lock-ups, or b) how I can kill Aperture without having to completely restart my computer?

You could also set up SPACES to see if that works when lock up occurs in full screen
Apple Icon > System Preference > Desktop & Screen Saver > Hot corners
I have bottom left set to spaces
Then drop the mouse to bottom left, 4 windows appear, drag aperture to a seperate window and run there, you desktop is in a different space and can be accessed by bottom left of screen mouse movement (if the mouse works when A3 locks up)

  • Failed Installation of Oracle8i on Red Hat Linux 7.0

    Hi,
I have successfully installed Oracle8i(8.1.6) Enterprise edition on Red Hat Linux 7.0 but while running the Database Configuration Assistant, it stops at the database initialization portion. I suspect the initmig8i.ora file is causing the problem. I have followed the installation guide very closely and the SID is mig8i. What might be the problem causing it to stop? Now, I can't connect to database.

    Richard,
It's a glib problem. 8i uses the glib 2.1 libraries, while RH7 uses the 2.2. There is a patch available from oracle support, or you can find a solution that has worked for me twice on the otn discussion forum.

  • Classes not found when compiling for jdk1.3.1_01 on red hat 7.2

I have just installed jdk1.3.1_01 (rpm) on linux red hat 7.2
I have written a small program to test, however, the compiler isn't able to locate the classes.
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class JTest {
public static void main( String args[] )
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, "Hello", "Test Dialog",
    JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    System.exit( 0 );
When compiled it generates the error:
JTest.java:10: error:Variable "JOptionPane" is not defined in current context
I have the path and classpath set to what I think are the correct directory paths.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
    Thanks..

Sorry, typo in the classpath... but now when I compile
I get error: "segmentation fault" then nothing else.
This also happens when I execute a precompiled app (eg
"java OldApp").This is to do with GLIBC-2.2, I believe. :/ (Pointed out by Niteen. :)
"ulimit -s 2048" should fix this. Adding this line to /etc/profile or your ~/.profile shall automatically run this command every log in.

  • How can I configure my Macbook Air to always show the menu bar when in full-screen?  I hate, hate, hate it popping up and then going away all the time.

I cannot find a way to change this in System Preferences.  When I have applications open full screen, my menu bar disappears.  Then when I try to move between tabs, I find it is always popping up & then disappearing.  I really just want to set up my computer so that the menu bar always displays in the foreground. I find this popping up & disappearing intrusive and annoying.  How can I fix this?  I hate, hate, hate this about my MAC...
I have searched the full User Guide, Quick Start Guide, etc.  and cannot find a way to fix this.

Don't use the full screen arrow in the top right corner of the window.  Instead, use the green + in the top left corner.  That takes the window full screen just below the menu bar.

  • Installation Problem Oracle 9.2.0.4 on Red Hat Linux 5

I have installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. I want to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.4) Server.
I have created oracle user and set oracle home directory in the .bash_profile.After that i run runinstaller file but the message comes as below..
'The user is root. Oracle Universal Installer cannot continue installation if the user is root. No such file or directory.
Please tell me the actual solution.
    - Prasanta

First of all, as pointed out by Hans, make sure you perform the installation with the oracle user, not root.
Next, you should be aware that installing Ora9iR2 on RHEL5 is neither supported nor planned, so you must be aware you will be on your own. There is no official procedure to install 9i on RHEL5, however, considering you will use this for personal purposes, not production, you can attempt the procedure provided by Ivan Kartik --> Oracle 9i on RHEL 5.

What about instead the java tools like
netasst and dbca (or also srvconfig srvctl:
I used the oracm config without using those tools for configuring rac).
Anyone found how to have them running on rh 7.1? I tried some suggestions from the list
    but none works.

  • Install Problem on Red Hat 7.1

When I try to install Oracle 8.1.7 on Red Hat 7.1, and run the

I have create the group and user for installation, install Java
SDK 1.3.1 and set the path. Can anyone show me some directions
about what is the problem and how to solve the problem?

    Thanks Olaf Tiemann,
I have not installed those packages yet and try the installation
    again.
Finally I install the Oracle successfully and get the DB
running, though there are still 2 minor errors.
    1. Error in invoking target relink of
    makefile /oracle/OraHome/ctx/lib/ins_ctx.mk, the patch glibc-
2.1.3-stubs.tar.gz seems does not relink/replace this .mk file
    2. Error when running the Root.sh, there are 2 sytnax errors at
    the beginning of the script
It will be perfect to get rid of these 2 errors.
    Anyway, my DB gets running.
