Have 8GB 3g but i-tunes says capacity is 7.08GB????

I just started to sync music to my phone from i-tunes and I noticed at the bottom of the screen it shows how many GB I have free on the phone. However it also says the capacity is only 7.08GB. When I add "audio", "photos", "apps", "other" and "free", I come up with 7.11GB total. Where is the missing .89GB? Any ideas please let me know. Thanks

I Am having the same issue. Ie on the password issue.
I Am using a Macpro though.
i Have had no issues with the setup until recently.
However I think the hard drive is starting to fail as it keeps on losing the wireless connection and gas been stuttering a lot on playback.

The difference is explained by the complicated way that memory is counted and the fact that some space is used up by the operating system which makes the iPod work. My 160GB Classic has about 148GB that I can actually use.
So your iPod is reporting the amount of space that you can use - 111GB

Look at the USB stick in Disk Utility and check whether it may be partitioned or have other software on it taking up space.

Thats the first thing I tried last night. And reinstalled just textEdit but no luck, then I deleted TextEdit and reinstalled it again and I was still getting the same message. Tried pacifist this morning again but this time I tried reinstalling the whole apps package half way through its says it cant reinstall due to multiple missing files.
Tried the repair option on the OS disc it says everything is fine

I've learned by reading other topics that I can't upgrade my graphics card on my Macbook Pro because it's soldered into the motherboard or somthing like that, but please tell me if there is any way to get more video ram by chaning some setting or upgrading something else. The only two items that a user can change on a MBP are the RAM and HDD (Retinas not included). You have what the unit came with and the only way you will be able to change that is to purchase a MBP with superior graphics
If you are very much into gaming, the I suggest A PC. They are far superior for that type of application to a MBP.

You should just copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old computer, to the new one.

My Itunes says I have 19.3GB but my Iphone says I have 9.7GB - why is there a huge difference?

Sounds like you have abn expired credit card linked o yoru accopunt.
View your iTunes account payment info and select None for the CC.

As you can see with the picture my computer tells me contradicting information when I try to sync my ipod touch with my mac. I figured that the amount of free space presented to me may be an estimate of how much will be left after the sync but it's hard to believe it'd be off by that much. I'm mostly just wondering if there's something I don't know that may shed some light on this situation.

The bar says the capacity/usage before you sync. When you click on sync it calculates the storage space required and if not enough you get the message you received. Also, you have to always have some "empty" space available for the sync process itself. More is required for syncing photos on the 4G iPod than other iPods.

I have purchased pages but it still says my trial has expired, can't save etc

I have bought Pages and Numbers but it doesn't seem to have registered. The money is out of my account, and it shows up in iTunes, I have downloaded the app and it's 'flown' to my dock, but when I open up the app it won't save - it says my trial has run out and I should buy it.

No need to buy again, it wouldn't help anyway. You need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
