Have a 7th gen ipod and it constantly skips

We just bought a 7th gen iPod nano and when I try to play music that's been downloaded onto it, it skips. Either further into the same song or to an entirely different song all together.
I've restored the factory settings on the device but the problem returns immediately. I've seen other threads about it skipping songs but none seem to have the same problem. I happens regardless of whether I'm holding the device or laying it on a steady surface. The windows defrag option doesn't apply since we've only got OS X systems.
Are there any other solutions I can try?

In order to delete or add individual songs from and to your iPod, you'll need to enable 'manual mode' on the device. This will allow you to add and remove exactly the content you desire.

All of the podcasts are Quicktime Large. For some reason my ipod has stopped supporting Quicktime Large. Now I've had to redownload every video podcast as Quicktime Small.
Anyone have any ideas whether this is from the the software version 1.3 and if they'll fix it in the next update?

When I called Apple (after wating 42 min. for a live person) I was told to run the APPLE Software Update and turn off location services then restart my computer. There were no available updates. The iPod touch I got on Christmas day. The iTunes app was downloaded the same day. Since day 1 I have not been able to connect. After restarting my computer:
From the iTunes app I click on the 'iTunes Store'
A new window opens and I get the following message:
This Apple ID has not yet veen used with the iTunes Store.
Please review your account information
So I click on 'Review' and am taken to a crude screen that says
Welcome to the iTunes Store
With an Apple ID, you can download the latest music, videos, and more.
To begin creating your Apple ID, click Continue.
So I click on 'Continue'
A pop up window says:
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-1202).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
And the only option I am left with is to click 'OK'
After every fix this same scenerio just loops and loops and loops

Have you tried a different USB port and/or USB sync cable? What happens if you place the iPod into Disk Mode? Does it show up then?

I just got a brand new iPod, charged it up, synced it with itune, added a CD to ipod and no sound at all.Shows it is playing but no sound, also have no radio, says No Radio Signal even with phones connected, even went outside and still nothing. earbuds seem to fit very loose in jack, don't know it this is anything but..... Any advise?

Push the headphone jack farther in. Plastic on the headset jack should be touching the frame of the Nano.

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn it off off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see:
iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)
Next restore from backup if you have not backed up after turning it initially on.
Last, restore to factory settings/new iPod

I have the 5th gen. ipod and i just bought the iplay ipod transmitter, so that i can play my ipod through the fm radio station in my car...but when i plugged it in my ipod and followewd instructions..nothing happened..i even took it back and traded another 1 and it still wont work...is it my ipod or is the iplay transmitter just not compatible with the ipod/video? please help..im getting very frustrated with apple..they put out the new ipod with no accessory`s to match, what a bummer!!

I think I have the same cable that you are talking about and it works just fine for my 4th and 5th gen ipods. All I had to do was plug it into the cig lighter and then select a clear channel for me it was 89.1 and matched it with the push button on the Iplay.

The music is grayed out because your iPod is likely set up for automatic syncing with iTunes. If you want to manually manage the iPod's contents, you'll need to enable the Manually manage music and videos option from under the iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.
