have you tried toggling bluetooth off/on again? if so, try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If you still can't detect or pair with any compatible bluetooth device you should offer the device for service.

Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!

Clearly you can not update 10.9 if you do not have 10.9
It is very easy to find, it is in the App Store as the picture I posted earlier displays. Follow the same instructions. If you can't then use THIS LINK which will take you there.
The current version of 10.9 is 10.9.5 and that is what you will get. -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you have no service on the iPhone. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There is one step you did not mention trying that i think is worth trying.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.

for example ive tried to login to youtube- got taken to the google account sign in page and tried signing in (with the correct info thnx) and it takes me to the "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. I'm trying to embed sound in InDesign CS4, but its not working
I tried to use file, place sound and also with a interactive button, apply the sound, but when I browse for my mp3 file it just wont let me selected.
I open the mp3 file to make sure was not damage and it worked just fine.
If this feature of adding sound exist within InDesign CS4, why I can't use it?

Bluetooth issue with iPhone 4 and Mercedes Benz
I just received my iphone 4 today and it has a huge problem. When my previous iPhone 3GS was paired with my Mercedes Benz bluetooth telephone system, within seconds the address book was loaded. This continued to work well even after I upgraded it to iOS4. HOWEVER, my new iPhone4 will not sync the address book. This is extremely annoying considering my iphone sits in my glove box connected so that my itunes audio plays through my car audio.
Since I spend a great deal of time driving, this problem is big enough that it may cause me to return the iPhone4 and stick with the older model.If you have the long futuristic puck in the center console here are the instructions I follow - works every time on my 2009 S550:
Important: * DON'T USE THE COMAND ON-SCREEN MENU - this will just mess you up *
Repeat: * DON'T USE THE COMAND ON-SCREEN MENU at all for this *
1) Put your iPhone on the bluetooth settings screen (Settings-General-Bluetooth)
2) Press the Mercedes logo on the center console puck for 3 seconds (it's actually a button, puck will flash blue)
3) Car might show up as "Hands-free" or "MB PhoneSystem" on the iPhone - select it
4) It will ask for a code - the number is always 62872
That's it! Let me know if you have any trouble.
p.s. phone book might take 2-3 minutes to upload each time - this is normal. -

when you start using iCloud on any iOS device and enable find my iPhone, this prevents a new user from using it, and also prevents anyone from using the phone
as it is locked to previous owners account ,this is also the case if when a phone is lost or stolen.
the only way around this is to have the previous owner reset their apple id by going to @ applied.apple.com
if they are unable to do this, then the only other way around this is to have the previous owner get a copy of their original receipt and call apple support who can then lift this lock if they get a copy of the receipt
