Have a canon MG8120 printer unable to set up

not able to hook up Canon printer MG 8120 no usb on printer wifi only

Hi, gonzojournalism, and welcome to the Community,
What do you mean by, "... access code to use for a client" -- ?
The usual routine is:
Download Skype onto the laptop or device.  During the process, you would be
asked to create a new Skype account.
If your boss already provided you with an account name and password, then the Skype Number subscription would already be added to it, and all you would need to do is have the client download and install the software.
Regards,
Elaine

I have a PIXMA MG8120 Printer with the error message 6A81.  I have turned off the power many times as well as unplugging the power source for a full day. There are no obstructions. What do you suggest?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if AAS won't install normally.

I have a iMac OS X.  I added it to a pc home network.  On the network I have a Canon MP810 printer.  I can print a test page on the printer sent from the iMac, but that is the only thing that can be printed from the iMac.  What do I need to do the solve this problem?

Try installing the printer via System preferences using this driver:

I have a canon multifunction printer that used to work with snow leopard but since I updated to mountain lion it stoped working. How do I make it work again?

This problem is not unheard of when upgrading from Snow Leopard. It is usually solved by completely deleting the existing printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan, and adding it again.

You don't mention the router model but some Thompson routers appear to have a problem working with Bonjour/mdns. There's some information here:

I have canon mp610 printer connected to my mac lion pc...It is always offline and i don't know how to fix this problem.

Does File > Work Offline has a check mark when that happens?
You can try to create a new Boolean pref with the name network.manage-offline-status and set the value to false.<br />
Right-click on the about:config page to open the right-click context menu and use "New > Boolean" to create a new Boolean pref.
    Name: network.manage-offline-status
    Value: false

Canon doesn't offer much support or instructions on the matter. I go to 'http://ugp01.c-ij.com/ij/webmanual/Select/EN/SLT/slt-region.html?AL=1' to start the installation, enter all the info, get all the way along but then when it comes to the last section and actually finding the printer it can't do it and says Apple doesn't have the software or something (I can't remember exactly what it says). • Since upgrade to Mountain Lion my scanner and Image Capture program will not work ( have a Canon MP980 printer/scanner). How do I correct?

I recently installed Mountain Lionn on my iMac. After installing the Image Capture program no longer allowed me to  scan - I immediately received an error message. Even when I tried to scan directly from the printer/scanner (Canon MP980) I received the same message. Scanner worked fine with 'Lion' How do I correct this problem now?

  • Is it possible to have an HP and Canon wireless printer on the same wireless home network?

I presently have a Canon MP560 printer on my wireless home network. I do not have this printer installed on my computer. I purchased an HP 3520e-All-In-One hoping I could have both on my home network.  My os is Windows 7 64bit. I tried to install the HP 3520e, and received the following error message - "Your printer failed to join the wireless network", and said the issue was that MAC address filtering may be enabled on my computer, which it is not.  It is disabled.  Question:  Is there a workaround to have two wireless printers on the same network, and if so, what is it?  Thank you so much for your help.

    Hi,
I actually have 3 printers from 3 vendors on my home network. I have tested using MAC filter and w/o MAC filter, no problem at all. The MAC filter should be on the router, not from your computer. Have you checked that ? My suggestion: use a computer on the network to connect the printer using USB cable then setup from there. The printer will use EXISTING setup from your computer and you won't need to enter security key.
    Regards.

    Hi br3753,
I know you mentioned already doing cleanings, but I wanted to recommend if you havent already done so to please try 3-4 consecutive cleanings for the best results.  If this does not work I would recommend using the Contact Us link to get in touch with out live support staff who can provide warranty options.

  • I have a Canon MX882 and more often than note get an error message saying the printer is not connected. I check the printer and the get the message that the access point is accessed. I have reloaded the software and it worked for awhile. Any ideas?

I have a Canon MX882 printer and more often than note get an error message that says "Printer not Connected." When I check the printer itself, I get confirmation that the access point is connected. I tried reloading the software and that seemed to have solved the problem for awhile but I'm experiencing the same problem. Any ideas what is causing this?

Did you delete all receipts with iDVD in the file name  with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder before installing the new copy?  If not then do so and delete the new application also.
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all necessary updaters: Apple - Support - Downloads

  • HI, I have a Canon Pixma MG5250 printer and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto. All my photos are in iPhoto but I can't access them when the printer's 'photo print' box comes up.  Any suggestions? thanks

    Hi,
    I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8
I now have a Canon Pixma Printer MG 5250 and it doesn't seem to recognize iPhoto, where all my folders of photos are in the computer.
All other aspects of the printer such as scanning and printing documents are working.  When I open the printer's
'photo print' box on my Mac, it cannot access iPhoto.
I would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions as to what to do.
    thanks.

If you want to print a photo that's in your library you should do so from iPhoto.  Select the photo, crop to the size you want to print and type Command+P to start the print process.  In the Print window select the paper size and print size, printer and then click on the Print button.

  • HT201465 update broke Canon MX922 printer

    Hi,
I have a Canon MX922 printer (using the Canon MX920 series driver) that I've been using for three months over WiFi. The latest software update HT201465 broke my printer. I've tried resetting the printing system, deleting/adding the printer but nothing works.
Printing over my iPhone (AirPrint) still works, but my Mac can't use the printer for scanning or printing. It does show up as a bonjour printer and I can re-add it without issues, but printing or communicating with the printer doesn't work.
Anybody else with the same problem?
Seems like Apple dropped the ball on this update.
    Thanks,
    Sebastian

I can't ping or access the printer's webinterface either from my iMac or MacBook - that part makes even less sense to me. There's no access control in place.
If you cannot ping the MX or connect to its internal web page then it explains why you cannot print. What seems odd is that the device appears in the Default view of the Add printer window, as shown by your screen grab. If the restart mentioned above does not help, then confirm that the Mac is set to use the same IPv4 subnet as the MX.
If you leave the Default view of the Add printer window open, do you see another MX922 entry appear with Canon IJ Network, as shown below? This protocol is provided by the installed Canon driver, while Bonjour is part of the Apple system. Since you cannot ping the MX I would expect you don't but just want to check.

  • Canon wireless printer printer off line problem

I have a Canon 620 printer. It works fine via usb cable, but when I try printing wireless it comes up that the printer is currently off line. I have good wi-fi to the printer and it says the printer is ready. It knows the printer is there so why won't it print? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I think once you reserve the IP address for your printer, you don't have to set static IP on your printer. But not the other way around. Because if by accident when a post man find two houses with identical address, it'll be tough to deliver the mail.
