Have a certain amount of records print per page

Cr 2008
In my main report I have header information, then a sub report in my last group header. What is happening is my sub report is growing larger for some students and pushes my data onto the top of the next page splitting the data up. I am trying to just print 3 students per page and keep everything printing together.
If my sub report grows to large then some of that data shows at the top of the next page causing issues, how do I tell the entire group to print to the next page if there is not enough room on the current page and not break the way the rest of the report is printing?

Hello Glenn,
You should be able to get the entire group to start a new page if the subreport won't fit on the page if you set the top level group to Keep Together. Go to Report menu > Group Expert > highlight the top group and select options > options tab and then enable Keep Together.

Is it possible to do multiple prints per page on 4x6, on B110?

The subject pretty much sums it up... I can do multiple prints per page on other sizes of paper (A4 etc), but there is no option to do so on 4x6.
This is pretty annoying, because the Epson printer I was replacing can do this. The follow-up question, therefore, is if I can't do it through HP's software, if I re-download Epson Easy Photoprint will I be able to use it for the HP printer?

HowTo Sample a Certain amount of records

Ok, I have created a table that has the top customers from 10 stores, so there is a Store Number column like 1, 2, 3.... and there is also a aggregated sum() Store Spend column that shows how much the customer spent in the last_12_months.
I now would like to sample the best/top 500 records from each of the stores, using Descending order and the spend column last_12_months column......
How would I do something like that ?

Hi,
That's an example of a "Top-N" query. You want to pick N items (N=500) from the top of a sorted list (or, in this case, 10 sorted lists - a separate list for each store).
In a sub-query, get all the columns you need, applying whatever WHERE-clause is appropriate (such as "WHERE sales_dt >= ADD_MONTHS (SYSDATE, -12)").
Also select a column that numbers each row according to how it compares to other rows in its class.
For example, if each store_number is a different class, and the ranking is determined by SUM (spend) in descending order, the new column might be
,       RANK () OVER
            ( PARTITION BY store_number
              ORDER BY      SUM (spend)    DESC
            ) AS rnkThen, in your main query, choose only the rows "WHERE rnk <= 500".
The sub-query is necessary because analytic functions (like RANK) are evaluated after the WHERE-clause, but you want the opposite. You need to compute rnk and then use it in a WHERE-clause.
If you need more help, post some sample data and the results you want from that data.
You'll probably want to change your requirements to accomodate a small data set, such as picking the top 3 per store, rather than the top 500.

Certain PDF files only print blank pages

I recently upgraded to Adobe Pro 9 Windows. Everything was great until I received a couple pdf files by email this morning that I needed to print and sign. All other pdf files on my computer print fine. These two pdf files go to the printer but only print out blank pages. Any thoughts?

My printer light blinks like it's receiving something, but then never prints. The light stops blinking and the printer icon in the corner goes away like it thinks it printed.
I'm puzzled too. I've never not been able to print a PDF file. I've also never worked so hard to do so! Frustrating to say the least.
Each page printed as an image (the only way it will print at all) takes about 2-3 minutes to print ... EACH PAGE. Ugh. A real time waster for sure.

How do I eprint a powerpoint while making sure that 2 slides print per page?

I have a photosmart D110 printer

You may need to change the linkage to the PowerPoint file so that it becomes embedded instead of linked.
Here are the instructions from the Help:
Change link type after importing the presentation
Open the Adobe Captivate project in Edit mode and navigate to a slide that was imported from the PowerPoint presentation.
Click Edit PPT and select Find Presentation In Library. When you select this option, the PowerPoint presentation containing the slide is highlighted in the library.
In the Library panel, right-click the presentation in the Presentation folder.
Do one of the following:
Select Change To Linked if you have not linked to (embedded) the presentation during import. Specify a location for the linked file on your computer.
Select Change To Embedded to embed the linked file into your project.

How to limit the no of records per page in crystal reports 2008

I have to limit the number of records =10 per page in crystal reports 2008.
Any help appreciated.

1. Open the report in Design View
2. Right click on the Details section and select Section Expert
3. Make sure the Details section is selected in the Section Expert dialog box. goto paging tab
Check the box that says u201CNew Page Afteru201D
4. Click the formula editor button to the right of the checkbox.
5. Enter the following formula
if Remainder (RecordNumber, 10) = 0 then true else false
6. Click Save and Close and then click OK.
If you run the report it should break after each 10 rows.

1099 Form - Misc doesn't print 2 forms per page.

The 2007A PLD form that we have prints only 1 form per page. The 1099 forms that we have for MISC have 2 'forms' per page. I have tried scaling the size of the repetitive area so 2 vendors print per page, but I am unsuccessful. How does PLD know how many vendors (1099's) to print per page?

Our organization is having this issue with the new Adobe forms that were released. The 1099 smartforms print 2 forms per page but the 1099 adobe forms are only printing 1 form per the OSS note that was just released - Note: 1949022. Is there somewhere in config that we can select to print 2 per page?
We are using IDWTCERT_US_1099MISC which will print just 1 form per page ( we also had to make some adjustments because the top gets cut off...)
form IDWTCERT_US_1099MISC1 will print 2 forms per page but it is not a new vendor that prints on the form it is a copy of the first on the page
The 1099 Interest adobe form prints 2 per page with IDWTCERT_US_1099INT - this is curious too because the smartform prints 3 forms per page
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do you know how to resolve it?I am considering putting in a problem report.

Printing multiple images per page

I'm sorry for this potentially stupid question, but how do I print multiple 4x6 images per 8.5x11 sheets - or in general, mulitple - defined size prints per page of whatever dimension. I have Aperture 1.1, iMac dual core, Epson 2200... I'll be back with many more stupid questions... bear with me!! T

Actually that's not a dumb question at all. Right now there's no way to say directly what size images you want on a page - you can only specify number of images on a page, and border sizes.
So what you do is figure out how many 4x6s can fit on your paper (2 on an 8.5x11.5 sheet of paper) and then figure out what border you need to get your images to be about the right size. In the case of 8.5x11.5, it's a border of about 0.75 in (perhaps a little more or less depending on the native border your printer has for a sheet of paper).
I think different orientations might screw that system up, so be aware of that and perhaps only print like orientations together.
If you are doing individual borderless prints of any size, do not overlook the handy "calibrate" button which prints out a test target to fine-tune exactly where the edges are in borderless prints!

Create a PDF with multiple images per page

So this seems really simple, but i cannot figure it out... i am creating a PDF from 30 JPGs and rather than having an image on each page in the PDF I would like to set it up so that there are 6 images per page... any thoughts .. thanks in advance

Once you have the PDF with a single image per page, print it out to a new PDF with 6 pages per page.
Either that, or use an authoring application like Word or InDesign.

How to print the page number in a background processing program

Stops after printing first page and does print graphics, etc. on page

I am using WIN 7 64 bit, and until I got a new computer with this on it, my Photosmart 5580 worked fine. I bought the CD with the correct driver and software for WIN 7 from HP. However, when printing a web page, it leaves blank wherever a graph etc. should be and only prints the first page. I know somewhere there is a setting to print background, and maybe that got unchecked in putting in the new driver. I can't seem to find where to set that. I do not believe that would have anything to do with only printing one page when I have selected ALL. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Cannot Print full page 81/2 x 11

Hi:
I set up a 16 slide keynote presentation and everything is fine.
I wanted to print it out and in printing it :
The Pages are printing in a 4" x 5 1/2" (inches) size on a 81/2 x 11 page horizontally and
5" x 7" on a 81/2 x 11 Page vertically.
I have the slide size at 793 x 595.
I have looked in the printing menu options and I cannot see or make any changes that change the actual printing size.
I have not had any printing issues with other applications when needed to change a size. IE: iPhoto 81/2 x 11 to 4 x 6.
Any advice or website would be appreciated.

I actually figured it out.
You have to have it on individual slides to print full page.
Seems somewhat incorrect but it worked thats all that counts.

6310 only prints current page

My 6310 has always worked fine, until I replaced my laptop with a windows 7 unit. This laptop is networked to the desktop which has the 6310 attached. Now it only prints a single page document from the networked laptop, or it will print individual pages one at a time by selecting current page. If I try to select pages 1-2, it will not print at all, nor will it print if I select all. It goes through the motions, and the progress bar shows that something is happening, but it never reaches the printer.

I too am having the same problem. I have a 7310. It will print multiple pages from Word, but nothing else I have found yet (Safari, Preview, etc). My wifes iBook does the same. Both are running 10.4.7 and the latest HP drivers.
