Lost System Restore points on DV6 notebook, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Notebook performance has been poor lately; slow response, static through speakers, etc. Thought it might have been from some software I downloaded. Removed software, wanted to run System Restore. System Restore would not initialize from normal start. When I went through System Protection to start it, I noticed that all of my restore points were gone. What do I do?

Could you please tell which partition that you are trying to backup with? I assume the configure tab is under the Acer(C:) partition, Where is the
ACERDATA (D:) partition?

Please take a check with other partitions to see if restore system settings and previous versions of files is available.
If the Acer(C:) is the primary partition, how could it showing not found(your first post) here? Have you made any changes of the partition?

Palm m500 Hotsync with Windows 7 Home Basic - 32 bit

I have a couple of old, but ever so useful, Palm m500/m505 PDAs, which I could hot-sync with my old PC running on Windows XP. Now I have up-graded to PC with Windows 7 Home Version - 32 bit and am at my wit's end trying to hot sync my PDA data on to my PC Palm Desktop.
I tried hot-syncing by installing Palm Desktop 4.1.4. and Palm 6.2. Have both on my PC. It did do a hot-sync but only to back-up data. I need to view the data on my PC/Monitor.
As I am of the older generation, (a senior citizen), could an expert give me step-by-step simple instructions on how to resolve my problem. My Palm m500 PDA has too many contacts to manually transfer.
Also can I convert PDA contacts to Outlook Address Book and then hot-sync with Palm m500 series PDA ?

Hi I have a HP Pavillion DV6-1355 dx windows 7 Home premium 64 bit and I have some major issues ,first when I bought this computer I turned it on it automatically connected and downloaded a whole bunch of stuff I am not even sure what all ,my P/N #VM222UA#ABA , S/N [Personal Information Removed] I dont even know what should and shouldnt be on here anymore . It has a sticker in keyboard area at bottom right corner and a windows 7 sticker says Intel Duo core and yet I get troubleshooters refering to Vista ,AMD ,and several other computers .In my device manager it has a bunch of stuff with little yellow gears .I feel it has down loaded my old computers which I dont have but 1 and my current ones which are all windows 7 64 bit . I was gong to scare my husband by starting his prinnter from mine wasnt even sure what I was doing but I do remeber it saying that I would have to be in control over the pcs I cant remember exactly and I also wanted to make sure updates were done because my husband never did them so I thought great they will get regular updates. At that time we had 3 windows xps 1 professional 64 bit,1 hp media center 2005 64 bit and a windows xp home edition 32 bit .I didnt know much about pcs then I sought help but never got it resolved we had a differnt router and i beleave sbc global at time when I did it that computer ended up dieing so I no longer have it but yet I see its hardware listed and I see the AMD listed and SIS and Matrix with dates going back to 2003 and this computer is a 2009 . What I need to know is how to get all the stuff off here that dont belong and the true specs for this notebook we have att now and a cisco E1000 router and I know some how that the stuff from the other computers are on here .Even when I go to the HP support page it will refer to older editions of windows troubleshooters it says under collection information that computer name is LAPTOP which i put down for the other windows 7 with a amd so I could identify the different windows 7 home premiums and I listed this dv6 as laptop .Windows version says 6.1 architecture says amd64. under publisher details it says package version 1.0 publisher Microsoft Windows,network adapter 1.0 Microsoft corporation. How do I restore the startup function on my hp notebook with windows 7 Home premium 64 bit bought in 2010? I have run all the diagnostics in systems recovery and everything checks out, however the unit powers up but nothing starts up.

I would suggest going back into the recovery manager and doing a system restore (not recovery) back to a previous point where you know it worked. The other option would be to do a recovery but you will lose all data that is not backed up.

I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer. I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:

I did not leave anything out from the error message. It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..." Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue? I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse. I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Why does firfox hang somtimes when opening i have windows 7 home premium 64 bit

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

According to your description, I understand you want to know why not Outlook connect to Exchange 2010 by NTML Authentication and without proxy setting in LAN.
I guess you may be referring to Outlook Anywhere. In Exchange 2013, Outlook Anywhere is enabled by default, because all Outlook connectivity takes place via Outlook Anywhere. The only post-deployment task you must perform to successfully use Outlook Anywhere
is to install a valid SSL certificate on your Client Access server. Mailbox servers in your organization only require the default self-signed SSL certificate.
However, In a local area network (LAN) environment, Microsoft Outlook communicates with Microsoft Exchange Server by using remote procedure call (RPC) with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). This method provides quick and efficient
access in a corporate network. Within this network environment, we could use MAPI protocol to connect to Exchange 2010. Typically, mail clients on domain-joined computers inside your network use NTLM authentication.
If your want use Outlook Anywhere connect to Exchange server, we have to specify the FQDN of the PRCproxy Server. More information about How does Outlook Anywhere work (and not work), for your convenience:

The problem is, I have the Client Access Role and Mailbox Role on the same server, when I try to connect to Exchange using Outlook, it screws up Outlook when it does the Auto Discover, the only way I can get it to work is by installing the
certificate first, With Exchange 2013 the normal NTLM Authentication used with 2010 does not work with 2013 and you have to use proxy settings but with the NTLM selected instead of basic authentication,
The other problem I am getting is that when I submit a certificate request the locally installed CA having created the request in Exchange, and then complete the installation of the generated certificate, even though when you check the certificate in Exchange
the Alternate Names are there but they are not actually in the certificate and the certificate the does not work.
In Exchange 2010 two certificates are generated one with what looks like just the certificate authority name in it and one with the external name in it, the one with the external name in it appears to be of the wild card format.
Local machines get issued the certificate with just the local name in and the external machines get issued the one with the external name in it.
Is t possible to replicate the behaviour of 2010, desktop machine on the internal LAN do not need outlook anywhere, only the laptops coming in and out need that?.
I have laptop machines on 2011 SBS, set are up to connect from anywhere using the RPC over Proxy with basic authentication which as you say needs passwords but when they connect in the Office the RPC over proxy seems to be ignored and
they connect using NTLM, that is what I want to do with the 2013 setup.

If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.

Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.

Ei.cfg not being seen by windows installer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit retail disk.

My problem is that the retail disk of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit has no ei.cfg restrictions. Instead of choosing the correct operating system ID, on install, the .cfg
is coming from some where else installing a custom version of windows that is a different version of windows than on the retail install disk that I have a software key to. Even though it recognizes the key as windows 7 the operating system no longer recognizes
the retail disk it was installed from as the same version of operating system. It seems that there is a pre operating system install to a volume that cant see the ei.cfg file on the windows retail disk. It is something like Windows ME or MCE and it is hard
to get past because it acts like the operating system after install. It looks like there is a complete install of windows 7 but it is only a version of ME or MCE in the 100MB range installed to a partition volume. I am given a User account Profile within
Application Data folder in the system. The actual windows system in its entirety does not exist in the partial virtual operating systems. All the installs are to Partition Volumes on the Partition of a GPT Server Partition on a Disk
on the Hard drive. All Virtual.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and 32bit retail disk is GSP1RMCHPXFRER_EN_DVD. The bios version on my Asus G75VX is American Megatrends version 206, V Bios version 80.04.97.00.13.N62G75500, EC version B14E140001. The operating system version is not the same

The above information was taken after an install from the Microsoft Windows 7 64 bit retail disk purchased at Fry's and installed to my Asus G75VX. It is a Network Managed Client Server configuration that installs from the retail disk.

I have been dealing with this problem since the day I purchased the first notebook from Best Buy configured this way and it was not even an Asus. It was a Samsung Chronos i7. The Asus G75VX I have now is the third notebook in a row purchased from Best Buy
with the configuration right out of the un open retail box. None out of the three came with windows 7 installed. They had windows 8 64bit installed with the configuration. I purchased Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit attempting to get around the configuration

or personal use as a Publicly Managed Network Client Server. I paid $1350.00 of my Social Security Disability income for the Asus G75VX and another $216.00 for Windows 7 Home Premium 32 and 64 bit DVD and that is not counting a list of other things to
now have a personal notebook computer I have to sat down beside me in public libraries, Colleges etc. to use their computers to do my legal work. It is illegal and total wrong and it is a violation of the Bill of Rights First and Fourth Amendments and Title

I have bought a new notebook HP CQ41-224TX without OS (free dos) and upgrade the momory to 4 Gb.
I have installed this notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and all HP CQ41-224TX driver 64 Bit.
All function on this notebook running well accept Fn+F7 and Fn+F8 (for brightness) do not work.
I have reinstall the HP Quick Launch Button, but nothing changed.
Does Anyone has this problem.? and how to solve this problem.. pls let me konw. Thanks

Toolbox for Color LJ 2550L for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I have an HP G71-340US Notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. Finally got my Color LJ 2550L to print from my notebook. Now I would like to find the Toolbox for the 2550L. Only way I can check on the printer is to go to my old PC with XP OS. Is there a way to put the Toolbox on my notebook. Want to get rid of my old PC. Thanks!

There is no full feature driver available for this printer on Win 7. The toolbox is included with the full feature software. What feature in the toolbox are you looking to use?

Can I install and use XE on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit?

I would like to install Oracle XE as a learning tool but have Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit which I see in the installation guide is not supported. I guess the answer therefore is to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional which the XE Installation Guide says is supported.
I have checked various forums and there seems to be some varying opinions on this. Before I go ahead and upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, can someone advise the best course of action please?

Illustrator 15.0.2 extremely slow on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Illustrator has been working nicely on my computer up until the 15.0.2 upgrade. Now it chugs along at a snails pace and locks up/hangs frequently when switch between tools or windows.
My system specs are:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel i7 Q720 processor
6GB RAM
1GB ATI video card
Is anybody else experiencing extremely slow performance with the 15.0.2 upgrade?

I am having a suspisciously similar issue and I would like to elaborate a bit..
I too have this odd issue where Illustrator works ok (though screen redraw lags) but as soon as I go between programs, whether Notepad, Acrobat or similar simple programs - Illustrator freezes for 5-10 seconds. I go back and forth a lot - looking through documents (pdfs etc.) when I draw so the annoyance is simply unbearable.
I have used Illustrator for ages and roughly 6 months ago I bought a new PC to use at home. Its specs are:
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit
PROC: Intel i7 930
RAM: 12 GB OCZ PLATINUM
GFX: ATI RADEON HD 5870
MOBO: P6X58D
These specs thrashes my specs at work by far and yet Illustrator BOTH CS4 and CS5 runs smooth and hazle free at the old worn out computer at work, while being close to useless at home. I have googled my eyes out and found no solution. Tried clearing the prefs, etc. - which made no difference. Disabled Aero and all other gfx consuming stuff - with absolutelu no improvement. I have even tried flagging Illustrator CS5 as Large Adress Aware... didn't help
I can run all other Adobe CS4 and CS5 (master edition) very good!
