Have a .mac account that I can't verify to update purchases in iTunes
Ironically enough I used the same email address and password to log in to this forum...
I keep getting a message that says that I need to verify my account, but that the verification email can't be sent because the account doesn't exist. I don't get it, and am not a happy camper. No, I don't use the account for email but up until this evening Apple has gladly used it for taking as much of my money as I see fit to throw at it using this account. I don't understand why I'm being treated this way. And I have no faith that Apple gives a ****.

"That guy", yup I definitely was feeling like that guy amidst my frustration last night. I did, however, find a solution.
Under the "More Like This" section on the right side of my screen I noticed a topic entitled "e-mail and the Mac store". Clicked on it, managed my accounts as it suggested and everything is working again.
If I understand what is happening, there are certain iPad/Pod apps that require you to verify your email address. Verifying means that an email address is valid, I guess. So I managed my email accounts on the Apple page, deleted extraneous address that I'd used over the years, and verified the one that I want Apple to send me email to. I can use my .mac account as always. It was quick and easy.
Wish Apple had pointed me to the proper information along with the notification that my account needed to be verified. Don't just leave the end user with a problem, provide a possible solution, too. That would have been nice, especially when you have no idea what is going wrong, and what is being asked of you.

My ipod displays an icon of a cable and the itunes logo but when plugged in, my mac says that it can not verify my device. I have a backup saved on my mac but it won't let me open it up or sync my ipod with my mac.

If I log into MobilMe through System Preferences, I get an error stating that my password or ID is incorrect, but if I select 'Learn More' I am redirected to the MobileMe site where I can log in with my Apple ID and password. From there I can select to be directed to iCloud. How do I get the iCloud link into System Preferences?
You don't.
You log onto iCloud.com through Safari/web browser. -

i have a mac book pro, an ipad and an iphone. i have an icloud account that allows my iPad and imac to sync. but my mac book only has a connection to 'mobile me'. how can i include my macbook with my other devices? help! thanks
You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud. The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

I am going off to college soon and I need to create a separate iTunes and iCloud and the whole nine yards if possible. I currently share icloud and everything with my mom and my brothers phones. Is it possible to move over all of the music the I have previously purchased as well? Also the computer that has our iTunes account on it recently crashed. Is there a way to move the account to another computer?

How will having another icloud email benefit me. I have my work email which is all i require, but had to set up a @me account to get email on my Macbook.
I have a Mac computer that i upgraded to Mountain lion, a macbook pro and an iPhone 4s which has the latest software. all i want is simplicity and to have one email account which which will not duplicate everything 4 or 5 times.
My notes are duplicated, i have to delete my emails individually on all devices so whenever i put my phone on, all the emails i have deleted at work re-appear on my phone and again the same thing happens on my Macbook pro. I seem to spend all my time deleting emails 3 times.
Is there something simple in the set up of these that i am missing?

I have 2 iphones, 1 personal and 1 business. I thought I was supposed to have 2 separate itunes accounts. I now have a work ipad and want to only have 1 itunes account that I can use for all 3 devices. How do I cancel 1 account or just combine the 2?
I want to be able to transfer my apps from my original itunes account that I have on my personal iphone 3 and work ipad 3 to my work iphone 4S ,as well as purchase more more apps for the work iphone with the original itunes account. I have apps from old work account that I can't remember the password to. On my personal phone those apps keep showing up but I can't update them because I can't remember the password. How can I delete them and download on my new account?
Tap and hold an app until they all start jiggling and an X appears in the icon's top left corner. One by one tap the X to delete the app. when they are all gone you are free to buy them again with your own account.

I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome
1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.
