Have a mac more than 5 years old need to update software but i dont know how? what update do i need? any help appreciated.
im trying to update the softare on my mac book, initially itunes but it wont update due to the software being behind. since my mac book is more than 5 years old i cant get the support from the apple website. so some knowledge from the community would be great. ill try and help what i can but not very computer literate
You need to buy and install a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and then run Software Update; 10.6.8 is sufficient to run the latest version of iTunes.

You need to unsync them. If you uses the folder syncing method either remove them from your syncing folder or change which is you syncing folder. Also see:

I'm sorry, had you already pointed out the rules which stated that lines from 2 separate accounts were eligible??? I don't see anywhere in the advertisement specifically stating that lines from 2 separate accounts would be eligible, so THAT is not what's advertised, either.
As far as I know Verizon's BOGO offers have ALWAYS been for lines on the same account. Possibly someone could chime in where they have received this offer on 2 separate accounts? The ONLY exception to this was someone getting the offer with 2 eligible lines on their account, reactivating the old phone on one of the lines and then giving one of the new phones to someone on another account.

I accidentally put my dads account into iCloud. i need to change it but i dont know how because its grayed out. if i press delete account, will it delete the whole account or just delete it from the iPhone?

I have a Mac Mini, 7 years old, new keyboard function keys don't work. How can I correct this?
I've unclicked "use all F1 F2 keys as standard functions" and tried doing fn at the same time as F10 or F11 or F12, but I cannot control the sound from the keyboard. F10 darkens the background. F11 hides the windows I have open. F12 brings up the dashboard. How can I reset these to function as sound keys?
Just tried that. It didn't make any difference. I know it's not the keyboard; I went back to the Mac store and they tested it on a current computer and it worked exactly like it should.
It's a new metallic keyboard, replacing an older metallic one whose x, s, w, 2 keys just stopped working. It's a plug-in, not wireless. -
I reset my iPod...now it won't do anything. It has a USB cord with an arrow pointing at the itunes music note. I assume I need to download it back to the iPod but I can't figure out how....

Fix 1- go to iTunes and restore your iPod
Fix 2- plug it into the computer and wait for the noise then hold the power and home button down hold them down for 10 seconds on the home button and 15 seconds on the power then it should shut off and make a noise then turn back on to the lock screen. -
After downloading the new Lion, my photobooth doesnt open. I click it and it bounced on my dock then a screen pops up basically saying it needs to be updated but i dont know how to update it without opening up the app. What do i do?
Saturday, from inside my pictures folder, I opened PhotoBooth for the first time since installing Lion. The same message was given to me. I said OK, or something, and it updated with the new app., icons etc. with no problems. Wish I could help you more but I am a bit mystified as to why it didn't update with the Lion install in the first place?

Can someone please help. I have a really old MacBook that is running really slow. I want to wipe everything and reinstall the latest software but don't know how to do this. Also is there a way of keeping Microsoft Office when doing this? Thanks in advance
You do realise that wiping the disk means that everything on the disk is erased. Everything. Photos, music, emails, ...
So the first piece of advice is to make sure you have a back up of everything.
You need the OS disk to reintsall the operating system. You will use that disk first to erase the drive, then to reinstall the OS.

i have just bought a macbook pro and i want to use an ext hard drive with it which i previously used on a windows computer, but when i plug it in it doesn't show up on my macbook pro, I've wiped it and just need to format it but don't know how, any help would be much appreciated
Try the other USB port. If it still doesn't show up in Disk Utility then there may be something wrong with your Mac. Try something else in each USB port and see if it is seen. If the other thing, like a USB thumb drive, does show up in disk utiltiy then the USB ports are fine.
Power down the system and restart with the drive connected, go to DU and see it it is seen. -

Try this ..
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to: Notes
Then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

Movies work differant than TV shows, music and apps. With movies, to get them from one device such as an iPod Touch to an iPad, you would need to connect the Touch to your computer first and in iTunes under the file menu, hit transfer purchases. Next connect the iPad and you can sync the movie to the iPad.
While the iPad is connected to the computer, in iTunes, click on the iPad in the left pane and when the screen loads, click movies and from there, you can select the movie that you want to sync. -

If the thief enabled activation lock on the device, then there is nothing that can be done. Only the password for the Apple ID that it is locked with can disable activation lock.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
