Each version of Adobe products builds upon the previous ones. Some things like filters and advanced features may evolve or become deprecated over time, but the basic tools have remained pretty much the same for decades. As long as you know there are subtle differences between versions, I think you will still get a great deal of value from C in a B for CS6.

I was able to find a site that shows the list of tools like in the book but better in one single page. I just wish I knew what my professor meant by "concepts" and "skills" since there could be a variety of these but what?

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Classroom in a Book Lesson 10

I am unable to use three video clips in Lesson 10. A message with an exclamation mark pops up with "Video layer footage is unavailable'. I am able to work with all still images but these three video images are impossible to open and work on. Pages 272, 273, 276, 277 and several others refer. No problem with anything else in Lesson 10 - just the video layers. PLEASE could you advise me how I can overcome these problems.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 - Classroom in a Book disk error

I am trying to use the disk which came with Classroom in a Book, but the CD drive on my iMac makes a loud-ish buzzing noise when it tries to read the disk and then ejects it. I tested a different CD and it worked fine, so I don't think the drive is the issue. Also, I was able to use the CD on my classroom Mac without a problem. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Copy the content to a USB stick on another machine.

cause learned a lot of things. That particular book along with the CD gives you the proper practice step by step. Unfortunatelly I already went through that book twice and I would like to know of a similar book that comes with a CD and you get step by step instructions to practice photoshop.

I buy a lot of computer books. When I purchased Dreamweaver CS5 at Adobe.com there was a offer for a free 30 day subscription to lynda.com
When I was using the 30 day demo of Dreamweaver CS5 I was search and reading book reviews for Dreamweaver so If I decided to purchase Dreamweaver (I did end up purchasing it) I would know what book/books I should purchase to go with it.
After just a few days of using my free 30 day trial of lynda.com I paid for a subscription to the site. I have learned so much about Dreamweaver and now Fireworks from lydna.com in the first few weeks of working with the adobe programs and it only cost as much (or even less) then a lot of books on Dreamweaver or Fireworks.
I will still be purchasing books for the adobe programs for future references, but lynda.com sure is a great way to get a jump start on learning a product that was completely new to me.
I highly recommend you give lynda.com a try.

I just purchased ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS2 'Classroom in a Book'

When I received the 'used' book yesterday in the mail, I was dismayed to discover that the lesson CD was missing. Anybody have any thoughts on how I can get a copy of the CD or download the lessons from someplace. Thus far I haven't heard back from the provider. Thanks in advance.
P.S. Willing to pay for a copy of the CD, otherwise the book is worthless.

Purchased the CS version, used from a campus bookstore. The CD was there, but upon loading, it was damaged. No cleaning would help. Next day, a complete replacement was given.
Now, that was at a "brick-n-mortar" bookstore, so it will be up to the seller to work with you on this one. I'd contact them and ask about the disc. They may have just forgotten to put it into the package. I always take mine out, and put them into many 4-disc packages. It would be possible, should I sell one of my copies, that I might not really think about it, and do the same, as your seller. In my case, I'd quickly apologize, and make ammends with free rapid shipping.

E-book of Adobe Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book do you get disc?

I was going to purchase an e-book of the above referenced book, but I know the hard copy comes with a disc of project pictures and misc. items for the activities. Does the e-book come with links or anything to that stuff? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

if you bought it from the respected store It will lead you inside Link inside area in which only adobe product can give you the clue about that,usually ebook is kind of manual to use all the other followed material so you certainly will need to read that e-book

What software is required to view Photoshop CC "Classroom In A Book" downloadable video lesson files from Peachpit? (edited by mod for clarity)

Hi all, I am a brand new student, so what I know about photoshop right now is virtually nill. I have the Adobe Photoshop CC classroom in a book. In the back of the book there is a key code to register your book at Peachpit.com. Upon registering the book, you are given lessons to download. I have done this. My problem is no device on my computer will allow me to view these lessons. I already have windows media player and real player cloud and neither one are allowing me to view these. I've already lost hours of study time trying to figure this out, does anyone out there know what I can do or know what I can download. On the RealPlayer cloud site they said WINDVD was a good alternative, this was not the case for me, it totally wacked out my computer putting me even further behind. Help?

Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book - Lesson 11.prproj

I bought Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book and am trying to use the lesson files that are on the CD.
At school, I have an iMac and all the lesson files load up perfectly, whether they are being loaded from the included CD or from the external 7200RPM Firewire 800 hard drive I have.
Yet, when I try to load the same prproj files on my Windows 7 PC, I get a pop-up error that says:
This project contained a sequence that could not be opened.
No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.
It isn't just happening on one file. Some of the files open, but most of them do not.
Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do here?

IIRC, the CiaB files are MOV. Is that correct?
Do you have Apple's QT Player installed on your PC, and if so, what version?

I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and it closes down every time I open it.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS2 and it closes down every time I open it with the following error: "Photoshop Quit Unexpectedly". Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot this?

The first question is have you used this version on this computer with the operating system you have now. The issue might be (if you are on a Mac) that CS2 was a Power PC application and you have upgraded to a new computer with an Intel processor. CS2 will not work on an Intel processor with system (I think) OSX.6 or greater.
If you have used this release on this computer with the same OS, than try deleting the preferences by holding down the Comand/Control-Option-Shift keys when starting the application. You will get a message asking if you want to delete the preferences, say yes.
Let me know if any of these work.
