Have all of the 4G Nano criticisms been addressed now by Apple?

Reading the reviews on Amazon there are (or were?) a lot of criticisms of the 4th gen iPod Nano. The accelerometer/cover flow issues, the scroll wheel not always controlling the volume - you have to put the iPod into an upright position beforehand, a screen lock problem, and some other flaws. Have these all been addressed now via updates from Apple? I want to upgrade from my 8gb 3G Nano to a 16gb 4G Nano, but these criticisms have stopped me doing so so far. Is everyone happy now with their 4G nanos? Are there still any unresolved issues/flaws? Any feedback would be appreciated - thanks.
PS: Also has the "crossfade" feature been updated at all - letting you change the overlap time?

I have only one remaining issue:
I have a (Connects2) car kit which uses the dock connector to control the iPod. Sometimes I can plug the iPod in, turn the radio on, and the iPod will automatically start playing. Other times, in apparently identical situations, the iPod won't start playing until I unlock it. Yet other times, in apparently also identical situations, the iPod won't start playing until I press play.
Incredibly annoying (if relatively minor in the grand scheme of things) - but hoping for a fix in the next firmware update.

It may depend on the plugin that is loaded into your browser. However, right click on a PDF and select the Open With option and go to the default button to select Acrobat as the default. That might do it.

In order to run Windows Applications, you must own the applications and, since they require Windows, you must own Windows. There are technologies like wine that will allow Windows applications to run without Windows, but they tend to be flakey at best.

Sending a solution that I have already tried is of no help, but I tried them all again, reloading works sometimes, I have seen in the past that others have had this problem also, of pages not completely loading. So I don't see how you can say I am the only one. When I first started using Firefox it worked great but now it doesn't, one of the updates caused this problem. I guess it's back to IE as it works fine now.

click and hold on one cell, then drag to select the range, then release, then type the delete key. Only inlude cells in the range you do not want to keey the contents of the cell. You can remove one-off cells by holding the command key and clicking cells to add or remove as needed.

Not to doubt you, but something sounds fishy. I can see accidentally clicking Restore, but to load your Touch's information you would have had to select your Touch's backup file after restoring, which would be hard to do by accident -- unless your iPhone and Touch have the same name?
In any case, your iPhone should have its own backup file on your computer. You can click Restore again and this time select the iPhone's backup file (there should be a device name and date associated with the pop-up window at the end of the restore process). This process will erase your iPhone, reload the OS, and then when you select your backup file then all your iPhone settings, data, sync options, etc. will be re-loaded, including your media (if you auto-sync ... if you manually manage music and video on the iPhone then you'll need to re-select the items you want loaded onto it).

I'm still not fully convinced that the system is asking for a previously entered passcode, rather than to set it up. If the passcode was set up before, your mother might not remember what the passcode was, but wouldn't she remember that she did set up something? What happens if she clicks on the Cancel button/word?
After each iOS upgrade you do have to re-enter the passcode. That's why you had to enter it.
My sympathies are with you. I know from personal experience how difficult it is to troubleshoot problems remotely, especially with someone who's not familiar with the proper terminology. Is it possible and reasonable for your mother to go to the Apple Genius alone?
IF she did indeed set up a password and can't remember it, there's a procedure that will reset the iPhone, but it's not pretty in terms of preserving data on the iPhone if it hadn't been backed up to iTunes or iCloud. These links might be of assistance:

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

What OS version? What's the exact error? Exactly when does the error occur? What previous versions? What is on the screen when the error displays? Does Photoshop get fully open?
Try opening Photoshop holding down Shift key immediately to turn off plug-ins. Lots of good suggestions here: Photoshop: Basic Troubleshooting steps to fix most issues
