Have an IPhone 4S that the phone part of the device locks up when I try to retrieve voicemail, have to turn phone off and on several times to use phone, any ideas?

Number one - that person has given you false information...the Apple store genius bar supports all Apple products whether in or out of warranty.  Checking is free, service on an out of warranty item is not free.
Try a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
Since you show that you have iOS 7.0.3 you might want to update that iOS to 7.0.4...plug the iPhone in so you are on a solid power source, then while on a WiFi go to Settings > General > Software Update and update to 7.0.4.

    There is an updated version number 10.7.0.21 that is available if you go to the iTunes link here on Apple.com.  It won't show up under Apple Software Update and if you check for updates via iTunes it likely won't show either.

    I was hesitant to purchase this protection plan at first about $70, but the customer service agent reassured me that there were no deductables and thats why I bought into it. But now that I look around on the support site, I see that it says that there are up to two incidents covered for a service fee of $49. Did I really get duped?

    If the issue is a manufacturing defect, there is no cost to have the device replaced.
    If the issue is a result of user damage (like a cracked screen) and you have AppleCare+ Apple will replace the device for the minimal fee of $49.  They will do this up to two times during the timeframe of the protection plan.
    If the issue is the result of user damage and you do not have AppleCare+ then the Out of Warranty replacement cost is $199 for the 4S.
    No, you were not duped, you were simply not completely informed.  Whether that was a result of them not sharing all the information or you only hearing what you wanted, no one here knows.

    If your screen is too dim, too bright, or you see only faint images

    Couple of things that I see when I read this.
    1 - If you have tried to reset your password (and it says that mail has been sent) my guess is that your spam or junk folder may have it on Gmail? That's assuming your old email account (earthlink) is still forwarding to your new (Gmail) account.
    2 - Make sure your Firefox versions are up to date on the devices.

    If you restored the iPad to factory settings and the camera still locks up, you may have a hardware problem and it may be time to get Apple involved.
    If it was just Skyoe, I would suggest deleting the app and reinstalling, but you can't delete FaceTime.
    Can you use the camera otherwise - meaning to take photos and videos - front and back facing both work?

    One of these should help:
    Right-click on iPhone name and select "Restore from backup", which does not erase any data other than re-load your last backup, or
    Select Restore, which will erase your iPhone and re-load the OS.  At the end you can re-load your last backup to save you from having to re-do all the settings and preferences, and you don't lose app data, texts, camera roll, etc.
    As above, Restore but don't load your last backup.  This will erase everything and you'll set it up as a new iPhone, which means re-doing all your settings and preferences, and losing app data, contacts*, etc.
    *Contacts can be restored if you're using Exchange, or if your computer contacts are up to date, or if you use a 3rd party app to extract your contacts from your iPhonebefore you Restore.
    Only do the last one if the others don't help.

  • I tried to restore my phone. The only thing that's stuck is my photos. It says downloading 19 of 277. It's been like that for over two days. I tried to restore it again. I even tried to turn it off and on. Not all my photos are copied onto my computer. :(

    This happened to me, it took me 44 hours to restore my photos.  I explained everything under a similar question just two days ago.  Mine got stuck for six hours on 139 of 811 and again at different places the last was 8:00 last night at 800 of 811, finally completed at 4:00 am this morning.  Keep it plugged in, close to your wi-fi, make sure you wi-fi in connected in settings . Keep it in the locked sleeping position and don't use it.  Tell everyone not to text or call you for the next 24 hours.  If you have to use it don't unplug it, text back or answer the call an then immediately lock it and let it sleeps.  When you use it it stops the restore and has to start up again.  Hope this helps

  • When I go to tools and select 'add-ons' nothing happens. In troubleshoot help it says I don't have any and when I try to install one nothing happens either. Never had this prob before... Any ideas??

    Ok I just went to post this and it said it has not been asked before and asked me to log in with more info. The title says it all really. The option is there under tools and looks normal but it has no functionality.
    My adblock plus is still blocking ads, so even though I can't see or access my add ons they are still working in the background.
    I searched for add ons and tried to install one to see if it would open them up and restart firefox but once I selected 'install', again... nothing happens.
    Has anyone else had this problem?

    Try to uninstall the current Java version and maybe delete the Java installation folder (C:\Java) if that didn't work.
    You can also use the JavaRa Uninstaller.

    Firefox should have recreated at least extensions.rdf.
