Have an old Minolta Dimage Scan Duel

Am wondering if there is any way that I can use it on my intel iMac using OS 10.5.6? I know about the adapter from SCSI to Firewire and have a software application that works. but am not certain if the first generation of this scanner will work even with all that available.
Does ANYONE know?

Not yet. Been hesitant to try it. The last time I tried it with a different configuration it failed. That time I had a scsi and a G4 tower, and the same software. So I am looking for more input before I try it. Don't have the scsi adapter yet.

  • I have a Konica Minolta DiMage Scan Dual IV scanner for use with 35mm slides. KM refers me to Sony.

I have not used my DiMage Scan Dual IV scanner since 2005. The KM web site tells me it has discontinued support for the unit but that Sony now does it. I am looking for an update to my software that will allow me to connect the unit to a Mac System 10.6.8, then a 10.7 iMac. Can you provide me with an updated program?

    Hi Guy,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Sony is no longer supporting Konica Minolta products. However, as long as the camera body is Sony, the unit will be repaired by Sony for the following situations:
If you do not know whether the defect is of lens or body.
If you’re unable to detach the lens/accessory from the main body
    Units requiring repeat repair.
Additional information for this model will be available on Konica Minolta website:

    Thank you for your post.

  • Will Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Multi PRO Slide

I am bidding on this film scanner on ebay. it is a bit older. Says it can be used on macs but on older versions. Before I buy this, i need to know if it will work on my new Imac. Just bought it 3 months ago.
Here is the link to an older review:
    http://www.filmscanner.info/en/MinoltaDimageScanMultiPro.html

The firewire interface could be a problem. Your iMac - if it is new, does not have a firewire port, so you will have to use an adapter. (Apple sells one of these.) That is the hardware side. On the software side you will need a driver.
I used a Minolta Dimage scanner for years. It had a scsi interface, which was fine with the Macs of that generation. But I had to use a third party driver:

  • Dimage Scan Elite 5400 problem

My father has a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400, bought while he still used Windows XP. He now has an iMac running OS X 10.6.6 but is unable to achieve decent scans of negatives. They all turn out with awful colours, strange dark banding and other weird effects. However, when I connect the same scanner to my Macbook, also running OS X 10.6.6 (having installed the same Minolta software) I am able to get first class scans. This is rather perplexing. Does anyone know why this might be? Both machines are running the same version of OS X and the same scanning software. The only difference (apart from mine being a notebook and dad's being a desktop) is the amount of other pro imaging software he has installed; namely Adobe Photoshop CS4 Design Premium and Epson scanning software. Could there be some conflict going on there? Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated. Cheers.

You can try to download the software from the
    following site:
    http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/americas/scanners/
    dimage-scanners/dimage-scanelite54002/softwaredriver
    s/drivers/ver102_mac.html
However, if this software does not resolve your issue
you are probably out of luck seeing as this product
has been discontinued. Which means it is unlikely
they will update the software/drivers for this
    product.
I believe that 3rd party software, such as Vuescan and Softimage will work with the Dimage. If that is the case I think there may be a 3rd party driver that I don't know about.

  • Dropped and smashed my Minolta A1 back up camera, I now have a Minolta Dimage A200 as a back up.  Aperture

Dropped & smashed my "Konica Minolta Dimage A1" back up camera.  I replaced/upgraded it with the later model "Konica Minolta Dimage A200" shortly before Konica Minolta stopped making cameras.  Both "IPhoto" & "Aperture 3" accept RAW images from the 'Dimage A1 & A2 models.   Will my Mac accept RAW images from the ' Dimage A200"?

You'd get better response if you posted this to the Aperture group. I'll see if the hosts can move it.
But basically if your camera is listed here http://http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html it's supported by Aperture.

  • Minolta DiMAGE A200 support broke with Camera Raw 2.1

    Hi,
I am new to this forum, but I hope someone can help.
Using Aperture since 1.5 with a couple of cameras I started with my Minolta DiMAGE A200. Unfortunately this camera was not supported by Aperture, but the identical A2.
Of course there was a trick to bring A200 Raw support to Apple by editing Raw.plist . This worked perfectly (since the RAW files are identical for A200 and A2).
With Camera Raw update 2.2 onwards this trick does not work anymore. The syntax and I also think the OS internal handling of Raw files did change. Worse, Mac OSX 10.5.6 seems to need Camera Raw >2.1 . So staying with the old Camera Raw package does not work.
Of course I don´t want to blame Apple for breaking a hack, but since the beginning I never understood, why Apple does not support a identical camera model!
Has anybody similar issues or a hint how to proceed? (without going to .dng)
    Best regards
    Joe

    Hi all,
I contacted Konica Minolta tech support and they confirmed that the A200 is supported under Tiger (10.4) and should also work with iPhoto. Here's the email I received:
"The camera will work on OS Tiger but we cannot comment on iPhoto as it is not one we have tested it on however we provide software called DiMAGE Viewer which will work with the camera. We have many customers using the camera with Tiger with no issues."
I then found the following Mac OS compatibility info on Konica's tech support site:
    http://www.konicaminoltaphotoworld.com/kmsupport.com/Compatibility.3036.0.html?& L=0#).
To summarise, Konica state that Mac OS 10.1 - 10.3 are fully supported and limited testing has shown that 10.4 works as well. There's no mention of iPhoto compatibility. The document also mentions possible file corruption for transfers over 10 mins and issues with date and time info not being transferred to the Mac. I thought these were a tad worrying so I sent a follow-up email to Konica tech support. Here's the reply I received:
"It should work fine with Iphoto. The information regarding MAC OS X.
There can be corruptions with transfers of over 10mins but not necessarily and therefore it is recommend to split transfers and also the data and time may not be transferred correctly and these I am afraid are issues which should be resolved when newer DiMAGE Software is released, however they might not occur at all and is only a precaution."
So... it's all a bit vague. Seems like it will definitely work with OS 10.4 but you might get some of the problems mentioned above... and then again you might not! Also, in the above reply, Konica mention that these issues should be fixed in a new version of their DiMAGE software. So maybe these issues don't occur if you just use iPhoto? Who knows....
I'm still trying to decide whether the A200 is the camera for me.
    Cheers,
    Stuart

  • Cannot open files produced by dimage scan multi-pro

I have a Minolta dimage multi-pro which I used to be able to launch from cs2.  The XP died.  I got another, reinstalled the scanner and cs2.  When I first did this, I could launch the scanner from cs2 (could from the old xp)  There is some trick to bringing the scanner into the import menu.  Beyond that, A month ago I was able to save files as tif and open them in cs2.  Now cs2 woun't open the file.  I get a message "Could not complete your request because of a program error."  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Konica Minolta Dimage A200 supported in iPhoto 5?

    Hi.
I am considering replacing my Canon IXUS v2 camera with the Konica Minolta Dimage A200. Primarily because it has a 7x optical zoom and 8MP resolution. But I can't find any info on whether the A200 is supported by iPhoto 5. I've checked Apple's iPhoto compatibility website and it's not listed (but the Konica Minolta Dimage A2 is!) and all I can find on Konica's website is that it's supported by Mac OS 10.1 - 10.3. 10.4 isn't mentioned and iPhoto isn't mentioned.
Anybody have any experience with the A200 and iPhoto? Alternatively, can anybody recommend an alternative camera that is fully supported on the Mac. My main requirements are: optical zoom (at least 7x), resolution (at least 5MP) and build quality.
    I have a G5 iMac running Mac OS 10.4.2 and iPhoto 5.0.4
    Thanks,
    Stuart

  • I have an old Imac G4 from 2003. I haven't used it in years, but I would like to start. What are my options for getting it up to date? Is it even worth the trouble/cost? I was hoping to at least get it running Snow leopard, if not Lion. Options?

I have an old Imac G4 from 2003. I would like to start using it again, however it is so out of date and runs too slowly. What are my options to update it? I really don't want to invest a ton of money - I might as well get a new one, so if there are any reasonable ways to get it to run Snow Leopard or even Lion, please help. I've also considered using a mac mini? Is that worth it either? I'm not sure which way to go here. I don't want to trash it, I feel like it can be a great computer if updated.

Presumably it is running tiger 10.4.11?
It may be able to run Leopard 10.5:
    Leopard system requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP517
But that is as far as the old PPC Macs can go, and Leopard can cost up to $200 on Amazon.

i have an old ipod touch that i have not used in a very long time, and im having trouble gettign it to turn on. ive had it on a charger for over an hour now and still nothing hs changed. i just updated my itunes to the current version they haev so i know its not an itunes problem its rather a problem with the old ipod touch itself. im leaving for deployment soon and im trying to get this fixed without having to send it in. If anyone has any ideas on how to get this thing turned on it would be greatly appreciated.

    Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:
Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.

There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these.
The flat fee for a battery exchange is, I believe, $99.00 USD.
